Fish & Chippery at Sandy Bay in Northumberland

Worst chips ive had in 50yrs and the cod tasted like they'd found it on the beach.

45 minutes wait for 2 portions of chips, make sure you cancel your evening plans if you actually order fish aswell!

The food is nice but it is overpriced and the portions are small, “large” fish and “ large” chips was pushing the boundaries of any trade descriptions act, sadly the service is also painfully slow as everything is cooked to order so we waited over 30 mins to get our order. I wouldn’t go again over £13 for a fish and chips is a rip off Ps the photo of the menu here is also out of date, “large” (what a joke) cod now over £9 Avoid 😕

Ordered all my family sausage and chips. My husband waited for them to be freshly cooked whilst I walked back to the caravan. I had not been back 5 minutes before he walked through the door. The food was inedible. Chips soft and overly greasy. The sausage was hard and barely warm. All four of us couldn’t eat the meals and I’d definitely say we aren’t fussy eaters. Such a waste of £28

The food was ok, bearing in mind we're 200 metres from the sea the fish was obviously frozen though. Chips were nice, freshly cooked and a good portion size. Mushy peas and curry sauce are also standard fare. The pizza wasn't great, the cheese tasted like cheddar not mozzarella.

Nice food but expensive. Not much difference between a regular and large.

Terrible food. Ordered sausage and chips for the kids after a few hours on the beach. Kids were starving, but refused to eat them. Chips were wafer thin like cardboard and either really dry like a week old, or soggy and dripping. The sausage was OK, Very expensive to throw most of it in the bin. Stay away from this place

I had fish and chips with garlic sauce and curry sauce, came up to about 15 pound. (click to read more) Paper bag did not split and seemed very durable. The food was lovely, fish was fine and the batter wasn’t powdery. Portion sizes could be improved upon. Customer service was great, nice and friendly person working behind the counter. Thank you!

Large fish was smaller than regular. Sausage was awful, the batter was powdery . Chips were OK. All packed Into paper bags that dropped to bits so our £45 meal (yes for 4 adults and a child £45) ended up all over the floor. Don't waste your time or money
