Wafflemeister is no longer open. A small cafe has taken its place. The cafe does not sell the waffles, deserts etc that Wafflemeister sold. Parking is also £2 for one hour with no return.

Felt like we weren't wanted there and waffles were just reheated. Customer service is appalling. Freezer was broken. We arrived an hour before closing and was told we had 3 minutes to order even thought it took them only 5 minutes to reheat a waffle.

Just hopelessly disorganised, no idea what they’re doing, how (or if) to serve customers and sporadically no one serving anyway. Got to do better than that. We left before eating so unable to comment on the food or value for money

We arrived at around 11.15 today. It was busy but there was no queue. We got a table outside and then I enquired with the chap at the serving area as to whether we need to order there or if it’s table service. He said he would come to our table but he was flustered and said he’d been left on his own but would be out momentarily. Had a feeling then that this was not going to go well!. 15 minutes later I went back in to see if anyone was going to take our order. The queue at the servery was out of the door! I was then told by the other chap that had now returned that they don’t do table service! To the other chaps credit he did say we could jump the queue and get served next but by then having read the other reviews on here we figured this could only get worse with potentially huge waiting times so we cut our losses and left. Honestly seems a bit of a shambles. Such a shame as a few years ago this place did lovely food and amazing ice-cream.

The opening hours on the website state 10-5, but when we arrived they were shut for lunch. After waiting 20 minutes for them to reopen, they said they didn’t have any waffles. (That’s the only food they do). They said if we waited half an hour they would be able to make some savoury waffles, but no sweet since they were out of sugar. There didn’t seem to be any urgency about that - they let people queue and then told them when they got to the front of the queue, rather than letting them know straight away, they didn’t put a sign out, and since it costs £1.50 an hour to park there, they probably could have put a sign on the parking payment point too. They weren’t friendly or apologetic. If this hadn’t been the case I would still say the atmosphere is lacking and the food and drinks overpriced. I would avoid.

Ordered 2scoops of ice cream which had to be in separate tubs due to no medium tubs available. Then ordered a tea which was prepared by the staff using his fingers to squeeze the teabag 😳 When I asked for 2 milkshakes he shook his hands (as they were wet from my tea) appearing distressed that I wanted to order something else. Finally, when he couldn’t hear me(because he was annoyed that I hadn’t finished my order), he shouted that he couldn’t hear me in an annoyed fashion In front of a queue of customers which wasn’t great for me. He made me feel awful for wanting to order. Yes, I hear you all say I shouldn’t have paid but had my full family there and couldn’t be bothered with my kids moaning about it so paid. Never drunk the tea though. This ordeal cost me £19.70.

Very expensive for what it is. Reheated average sized waffle, 2 scoops of ice cream and some chocolate sauce. We’re a family of 5, had a waffle each, hit for £30. Pleased we didn’t buy any drinks!! It was tasty but for that price you expect something bigger & better, and more of an experience. No sitting indoors; I expect because it’s easier for them not to COVID clean so you pay the same prices to eat outside! The waffles were just sat there on an open rack, already made. Unsure how long they’d sat there - I questioned the ‘freshness’ and was told they’d been made today; of course they were going to say that. For the price you pay, you want guaranteed freshness, made from scratch right before your eyes, not just reheating right before your eyes. As a business model I think it’s flawed and has no longevity. First time customer here and I won’t return. They’re not selling the freshly made experience, the venue, the view, it’s overpriced and screams of franchise with inflated prices trying to make enough margins to pay ‘head office’ and leave enough for the poor franchisee. That’s just my opinion though, take it or leave it, as you would a reheated waffle.

We like it! We visited on a quiet day, very few people around. COVID rules applied so eating was outside. A little pricey however we were willing to treat ourselves to 3 waffles with syrup and 2 carrot cakes, a brownie, 3 teas and 2 coffees for £29.

So happy to park at Tower Knowe car park before a walk and get to fuel up on waffles and coffee. Sweet and savoury choices meant we couldn't decide what to choose. In the end we opted for sweet, but it was a tough call. Really delicious treat! Great blend of coffee too! Would call in again to try the savoury options next time. Reasonably priced for what you get.

Visited, no where to sit but I understand. Staff seemed put out that we wanted to order something. Order cheese and ham waffle. Considering this is a speciality waffle place. Cold soggy partly reheated waffles. Absolutely awful... no care.... no interest.... shame.

Waited in long queue for this to open at 12 instead of 10 due to a technical difficulty. Then had what were obviously yesterday’s Belgian waffles marginally reheated. Very expensive for what they were. No drinks either after queuing up as machine not plumbed in so then had to queue at shop as well for cuppa. Had been a few days earlier and had a savoury waffle which was freshly cooked and better and the coffee machine was working then! Disappointment this time though.

Turned up here around 1:00pm no savoury waffles at all could only offer cake and sweet waffles. Not ideal for a diabetic. It was not busy. There was nowhere to sit inside just an empty space. Their only advice was try to buy a pie from the shop next door. Whilst I was drinking my tea in the rain I watched several parties enter and leave. They are certainly not making the most of the situation as it’s the only place for miles. It might not be there much longer

Arrived late on and chose a small pizza - hot and spicy. Pizza was freshly made and suitably hot and spicy. Wouldn’t say it was outstanding - but filled a gap for £8.
