First Eat in Cherwell

I have tried their food many times since they reopened. The salt and pepper box has also been updated. We like the white egg fried rice very much because it is different from other takeaways . They also use curry sauce normally. Also, the first time I ordered crispy aromatics duck. I didn’t know that they had more meat and not enough pancakes, so we added extra pancakes next time. Thank you very much, I hope they can keep it up.

We ordered for the first time since First Eat has reopened and got two salt and pepper boxes. Now I want to be clear I NEVER leave reviews but I felt I needed to this time. We are so disappointed. We spent £30 and it was revolting. The chips were plain (which is unusual for a salt and pepper box), the rice was just plain boiled which was hard and completely flavourless. The ribs were pure fat and everything was bland, to the point where it didn’t even tasty salty, it just tasted of nothing. The chicken balls were extremely undercooked and the batter was just pure mush and stodginess. When I tell you there was 0 flavour it’s not an exaggeration. This was our go to Chinese and I’m sad to say we won’t be ordering again.

I have to admit, that we were beginning to think about giving up ordering from here. However, ordered tonight and We were blown away. New owner and he was so accommodating and friendly. The food was FANTASTIC. Thank you so much. Will definitely not think twice about ordering from here again. We only had a Dec 22 menu which we ordered from. They delivered exactly what we ordered even though some of the dishes weren't on the menu. Absolutely fantastic. Don't go anywhere else.

Absolutely vile the food was cold and undercooked taste like it was made last week and on top of that found a maggot in my large chips wouldn’t feed it to my dog avoid at all costs

Wanted to order from here as it's the only place that does a salt and pepper munchy box and was so disappointed! It was literally just chips and a few small bits of meat and it was £16. Won't be ordering again. The rest of the food was ok. Food took 1.5 hours too.

Sweet and sour chicken balls and fried rice. Plus prawn toast. Arrived less than 30 mins after ordering. Just about warm. Prawn toast obviously pre cooked and re heated. Chicken in balls dry and tough. 1st time ordered since elderly couple ran it. Not a patch on theirs. Time to try somewhere else I’m afraid. Very disappointed

Used to be my go to Chinese, tonight I received dry satay chicken, soggy and cold Hong Kong style chicken and chips that had been cooked about 3 times !! The only thing we could eat was the rice, sorry but never again !!!

Normally very pleased with the food but disappointed with most recent order. The green curry was ridiculously hot and watery and the chicken in satay tasted watered down and smokey, very strange and inedible. They had a funky smell to them which i assume is too much fish sauce maybe? Either way i wont be returning any time soon

Best Chinese takeaway in Banbury. Excellent food. If you like Chinese food, you really should try 1st Eat- especially the Duck. Great quality duck and cooked the traditional way. They are very proud of their food and rightly so. They cut no corners and this shows in the quality of the food. It's worth paying a lttle bit extra and travelling a little bit further …

Ordered from 1st Eat this evening, it was ready really quick and was honestly delicious, we ordered chow mein , sweet and sour, a curry, mini spring rolls and an omelette, each meal was hot, plenty of meat, beautifully prepared. Thank you

Nice driver delivered food very quick. All the foods were fresh and cooked to perfection. I can’t believe the presentation were so pretty even for take away. Highly recommend to try their food.

King prawn curry the best in Banbury and I have tried them all this is my takeaway now that I always use ever had a bad one yet and the service is very good

Left without my order (£7.50) minimum card payment £10 when every other retailer is advocating card payments with no minimum. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever.

Amazing food, got piping hot food within 20 mins. Fresh and really tasty.

Eat there for more than an year....I really like the "Salt and pepper chicken "....quite spicy if you forget to ask for a mild one!

Ok for quick food but not good enough for am good meal

Amazing array of Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine. They can deliver for a fee. We went for the hard to find ho fun, fried flat noodles. We weren't disappointed!! The chicken fried rice and chicken katsu was really good too. Highly recommended.

Called and confirmwd their chicken is Halal so gave it a try. Food was mediocre - have had better. Would not recommend the Shezwan Chicken as it was way too sweet but the Pad Thai wasn't too bad and the Prawn fried wontons were yum. The chicken katsu was dry but ok to taste. They also give complementary Prawn crackers with the meal which are pretty good. Didn't like either of the sauces included in the meal. Service was fine.

Over charging just for useing a card to pay, then wile out the back talking about us thinking we cant hear them. Never going back again so rude..

Ordered from there today and they sent the wrong thing and tried to make me think it was my fault and charged for the difference, Don't normally leave reviews for stuff but the service was piss poor

Had a menu through the door which looked good and, as we had been looking for a decent Chinese takeaway in Banbury that also deliver for a reasonable price (unlike the one we use at the moment which is delicious but expensive for take out) I thought I would give them a try. I’m glad I did, the food was delivered quickly and was very tasty. I would go so far as to say the salt and pepper chicken I had was the best I have ever tasted. Many Chinese restaurants in Banbury offer it but I have only found 2 that actually get it right and 1st Eat’s was the best. I will definitely be using them again if they remain this good.
