We wanted to book a table for 5 (4 adults and 1 child) but were appalled to discover the restaurant had ceased to exist five years prior. Will not be going back.

Good was very nice, and portion sizes were very generous. Atmosphere of the pub also very nice, and staff very nice and friendly. Some car parking at the rear.

Came to the boathouse for a fish n chips on my walk in slapton. The staff are so lovely here and welcoming, the fish n chips was perfect I really enjoyed the batter on the fish. Will be coming back again.

A truly gorgeous little spot for a couple of days exploring Totnes and the surrounding countryside. The staff were very welcoming and friendly from the moment I arrived and throughout my time there; I never felt overlooked or focussed on as a solo female traveller but always very well-cared for. I stayed in room 1 which has a tiny little terrace that it was nice to be able to open the door onto and have some fresh air inside. The room itself was lovely, very well presented and felt clean and cosy; there isn't a huge amount of space but absolutely enough for one person or two people for a night or two. Lovely lime washed walls, DIY compostable teabags and a great shower made for a very comfortable stay - worth noting they don't have all the same amenities you might find elsewhere (no TV or shower gel) but wi-fi is good if you want to bring a laptop to watch. Food was excellent with a great range of local and seasonal small - large plates and everything was beautifully prepared and perfectly cooked - the cauliflower and squash for dinner were especially good while the fried egg + greens on toast was a perfect breakfast to fuel a day of walking. I can also recommend the no-waste espresso martini as a sundowner with a good book in the fresh air! It's not cheap but the whole vibe is one of getting what you pay for which is understated elegance, a commitment to sustainability and a real desire to create something very special in the local community...I wouldn't hesitate to go back or to send others there.
