Fire Station Cafe in Blaenau Gwent

What can I say, polite staff in what used to be an old fire station. Yes the decor is to be admired. However what it does have is a proper working mans cafe with a spirit in an area surrounded by industrial units. The order of the day was breakfast because any breakfast needs to be cooked fresh. This meal was a delight even if the fresh tomatoes were a little thinly sliced. The cafe it's self was cleanish and only one worker doing everything. Really friendly lady.

Had a burger & Fries in there with a fanta last year and it was fantastic good cafe! Cheap and local.

The Food Standards Agency Hygiene rating is rather low but that appears to be more to do with the layout and access to this property. Value for money here is excellent, the food is well cooked and very well presented, this is a local cafe on the edge of an industrial estate not the London Ritz. There are no high chairs available but this appears to be geared for the workmen from the local industrial area.

My sister has recently moved by the fire station Cafe and as we were decorating we fancied a cheap easy lunch. We came here after ordering over the phone and we were pleasantly surprised! Ham egg and chips in a tray was beautiful, sausage egg and chips just as good and a portion of cheesy chips, had a can and 2 teas and it only came to £13! Great value for money and generous portions. Fair play for a little cafe it was great. The two ladies behind the counter were very friendly and easy going. Will definitely return to try some more of the menu.
