It's with considerable regret I make this review about our local takeaway we have regularly used for many years, its more to highlight the outright rudness and inconsiderate attitude of the staff member that handled a phone call after receiving our delivered meal ordered by app. The order contained a portion of Chicken Pakora and when my wife bit into one it was obviously not Chicken but she suspected Lamb. A phone call was made to report the error but the staff member who took the call completely dismissed my wife's claims stating they didn't make Lamb Pakoras, when my wife persisted to state it was Lamb, interupting her he repeatedly stated they didn't make Lamb Pakoras ending the sentence "EXPLAIN", when she again tried to explain again the Pakoras were not Chicken he interrupted again refusing to listen forcing her to end the call saying we just won't use you again. This attitude appalled me so I decided to make the journey to Fire and Spice to report this in person. My wife and I arrived and after asking the staff member if he had taken the call from my wife he acted puzzled and said it was probably the guy out on deliveries. My wife instantly recognised him as the person she spoke to on the phone but he continued to claim it wasn't him although I could see the same dismissive attitude from him and he again stated they only make Chicken Pakoras until I produced one of the pakoras cut in 2 and he instantly went to speak to the chef returning shortly after now stating the chef made a mistake but did not offer anything further to rectify the mistake or any form of compensation for the mistake and the following bad service which just added to the frustration and dissatisfaction at the service from staff. After a short time the chef appeared apologising at which point I again explained the phone call and tried to point out that if it was not for the attitude of the staff member answering the call we would likely have accepted a confirmation the meat was Lamb and an apology on the phone and that would have been the end of it and that the manager or owner really needs to ensure staff answering calls are capable of dealing with such calls. I was then asked what I wanted, I pointed out due to the manner of the phone call I had to take the time to call to the takeaway to deal with the matter so I will leave it to him to decide. The other staff member ( the one who answered the phone) decided to refund the cost of the Pakoras and the chef added to also refund the delivery charge. I expressed disappointment that my time and inconvenience had not been recognised and left saying I would never use Fire and Spice again, a very reluctant decision to make as the quality of food here has always been excellent but the inconsiderate attitude of staff means I will take my future business elsewhere.

Amazing food last night, we do go regularly but food is tasty and as hot as it states on the menu. We both had jalfrezi one chicken and one vegetable . Both delicious starters lovely mixed Starr and an onion bhaji. If you are nearby definitely the best !

Lovely indian food, i always just get a few appetisers. Always really tasty, deliver on time and hot when it comes.

We received cold chips, no salad and two pots of onion in stead of chutney, the chicken was over cooked.

I ordered for a delivery. Iv been vegetarian my whole life,, so I ordered a vegetarian curry,,, they sent a chicken curry!!! I tried to call them but no answer,, iv sent a few emails but but no reply!! Bad customer service !! What if they sent something someone was allergic too ,, for example nuts!!!

I am not joking now 3/4 times I have eaten from here and the following day I have been VIOLENTLY ill. I kept on re trying thinking surley it must be down to another reason but it must be this place!!

Just want to say due to no fault of their own this business suffered technical issues Friday 2nd Feb. But they rallied round and re paid all their customers door to door. Magnificent effort. I believe we should all get together and support these lads. Once again “ Well done boys “

Been a few times, food was delicious as always. Food was piping hot and the prices are very cheap with large portions.

Been ordering from here for a while tried a variety of dishes and never been disappointed food is always tasty hot and delivered within a reasonable time.

Top quality take away, always my go to treat! Phal is good spice level and flavourful- which I feel isn’t common with a phal! It’s really good, vindaloo is the same (lower heat but the flavour is immense)

I went in person, to order around a week ago. The guy in person gave me a option of chicken or lamb.. today I wanted to make an order over the phone I just wanted to clarify again if it would be lamb - being my preference. I squeezed in the mixed veg dish and naan. Right from the start, the guy hand a complete attitude problem - very snappy. Then accused me of being rude E.t.c.... refused to even take me order. They are not even busy now, as suggested by Google and Uber. A nice way to treat a customer when you are not really.

Ordered Saturday night 2 kebabs..totally awful..the chips where re-cooked from Friday..Rock hard and tasteless..Was my go to takeaway..not anymore..disgusting

We have been using Fire & Spice for the last 6-months or so. Overall the food is good quality and quite tasty. The delivery time is good and the delivery drivers are friendly and courteous. We haven't had any of the extravagant meals yet, just the basics and the masalas, bhunas and egg fried rices are all excellent. Can recommend (At least for the staple Indian fare)

Food is very good. Serve is kind and friendly, only downfall is that when busy, food can sometimes take a while to arrive but other times, your food arrives sooner that the delivery expectations.

We had family round last night and they ordered a few curries from your takeaway. I wasnt in the mood for a curry so i gave it a miss, following onto the next day we now have 3 family members constantly vomitting every hour. Safe to say we will never order from here again. And im soo glad i didnt eat any myself! It was also a chicken varient if anyone is partially interested in getting ill. The food taste good but because of this reason now we will never order again.

One of only a handful of places that do Paneer currys, its not on the menu, so you do need to ask, but they were very accommodating, the food is tasty, and there are plenty of choices.

Quick delivery food amazing got the mega kebab fed 3 of us easily

3 stars is probably generous £15 kebab - awful, 80% got thrown away, donner meat made up most of it and was not nice. Onion bhajis ok but cold, samosas were OK, chicken spring rolls had horrible washing up liquid taste, chips not good, chicken tikka ok, lamb tikka ok but tough, lamb chops very tough, poppadoms fine, sauces fine

Can i just say about fire and spice. Seriously these guys will go the extra mile to make sure all the customers are completely satisfied and happy. My daughter was very poorley in hospital a while ago. I got back home late from the hospital phoned fire and spice only to be told they dont deliver this far. I'm in lowton so i understand. Only to get a phone call back within minutes to be told they will drop me some food off under my circumstances. Now there's not mant takaways would go to them lenths at so late at night aswell. So from the bottom of my heart thankyou thankyou thankyou to all the staff at fire and spice. I hope one day i can get up to you guys to enjoy your amazing food once again from such an amazing team..all the best....BIG DAVE.

Ordered the £15 kebab absolute waste of money had 2 small bits of lamb and 1 small bit of chicken donner meat way to thick, rang them to be told what do u want me to do about it now and its costing us £14 to make. honestly will never be ordering here again so rude

Was at a friends for some drinks and they ordered from here and I've got say it was really nice. On par with most restaurants in the area I've been to. Will happily order from here again.

Ordered a set meal for two with Lamb Bhuna, chicken tikka with the veg bhaji dish too, it was the best curry I’ve had , all 10/10. Excellent. Number 148 on the menu would recommend.

Read and heard amazing things about this place, so thought i would travel the extra to sample their food and hopefully a treat. To be honest a little bit disappointed. Firstly for what we ordered it was a little expensive, but if the food is that good no worries as usually pay over the odds for other takeaways locally and their food and service poor. Found their pickles a bit on the watery side so when eating on the poppadoms it ran off every where and was messy. The lamb was very tough indeed to chew and the roti a little doughy and again tough to chew. The curry sauce was very tasty and was probably the best part of the meal. The flavours were very good indeed, in fact the taste and spice mix were very good. But overall a little disappointing with the experience and don’t think for me its worth the travel and they told us they would deliver as its over 4 miles

Have had several orders from here, but tonight delivery was late. Smoke to the guy who stated was in charge. His attitude was quite frankly disgusting. Fire & Spice have lost a good customer, but as the person in charge said that’s my choice.

Never disappoints. Probably the best kebab source you can find near Wigan. Both quality and quantity is making this place my number one source for kebabs. It is so nice I had no chance to try the curry dishes yet. Highly recommended.

Great service. Overall, food good. If you want heat in your curry…Naga phal is mild, I wanted it to burn and it certainly didnt.

Absolutely ridiculous, I have tried placing an order on uber eats and they keep cancelling it because I'm 4.9 mile away from them they said its to far for them to deliver, it 12 minutes down the road, I would of picked it up but little one in bed, why offer delivery if you won't travel 12 minutes down the road,

Waited nearly 3 hours for the delivery, phoned the shop numerous times and got the response that food was out with delivery driver. Had to warm the food up when it eventually arrived. Won’t be ordering from Fire and Spice again

Really pleased tonight as I couldn't put my order through online. I phoned up for assistance and was informed the app won't work as they close in ten minutes. However if I tell him the order it will be put through for me on the phone. Food was delicious, hot and quick delivery portions are large so I have lunch planned now too. I was very pleased as I just couldn't face cooking. A massive thank you.

King prawn curry should be renamed to onion curry with 1 King prawn split into 4 pieces. Complete rip off.

Cannot state how much I love this place

Been looking a decent Indian takeaway for ages and have finally found it!!! The food was amazing, everything was hot when it arrived and came within the specified time. The onion bhajis were delish as was the Tandoori Nepal and the Chicken Tikka Masala. The naan bread was super soft and the curries were packed with chicken. Will defo be ordering again :)

Come across this Indian on Uber eats after an exuberant day out! What a catch!! Delivered on time and the food was deeeeelish!! Nom nom! The Indian wasn’t the closest to our house so was especially impressed with the temperature of the food when it arrived too! Would definitely recommend! Staying in St Helens for work and was fed up with the hotel food. Decided on a curry and glad I chose this one. One of the best tikka Missalas ive ever had. Highly recommend.

Food ordered before 5.30. Waited almost 2 hours for it. Was cold when it arrived and had to be reheated. Was very bland tasting. Very disappointed. Won't be ordering from there again

Delicious Saturday night treat. Never had food from here before but read the reviews and thought we would try it. Very impressed all the food was delicious and good portions. The only snag was it needed microwaving for a few minutes when it arrived as it wasn’t very hot. However this wouldn’t deter me from ordering again as it was probably their busiest time when we ordered .

We've got some great Indian food around here, and Fire and Spice is right up there. My partner and I shared a faultless and tasty meal, which also made for an excellent lunch the following day with the leftovers. We'll be back!

I had the spicy kebab, it was absolutely gorgeous! Lamb was very tender and not chewy like alot of places are, chicken was perfect but the spicy donner was an absolute game changer 😍 I will definitely be back

2 hour wait after being told 1hr to 1hr20 max! Food was cold when it come and I rang to complain. Told the chips will be soggy anyway and this is how long it takes on a weekend as they are busy. I agreed yes they may full well be busy but food delivered cold isn’t acceptable after spending money on it. In the end the person on the phone was heard laughing . I most definitely will not be ordering from here again.

Fantastic menu and you can view and order directly online It was the first time we had used it Placed the order from the vast choice and added the pick up time Arrived at our pick up time and the Order was boxed and ready to go Piping hot food The portions are great for a family or couple or just you home alone ,the flavours are very good and everything was cooked to perfection All in all a very good meal and your bank balance will like it too as it was not that expensive Check out the website for the best offers Thank me later !!

2 hour wait! Really? I did want to collect it, and it was still 2 hours! I called and was told 2 hours, and I came to the shop and was told 2 hours! Unsurprisingly I did not get any food, I went elsewhere!

Had the mega kebab and what can I say 2.25kg of meat and naan, exceptional taste and quality, will be going again no issue.

I was travelling home from picking a family member up and decided to pick up some food for us and the family, a friend suggested this place, “you really must try it”ok I thought, (but I had my heart set on a place near my home I normally go to) but I’m not afraid to try new I though so hey ho. Firstly met a lovely guy took our order very attentive we made our own banquet up at a fixed price £25 you normally don’t get to choose with a banquet it’s a set deal “so it was off to a good start” I thought, good value too. Especially when all the favourites are on choice full menu, He told our food would be at a time and to within the minute it was, it came in an insulated box, which again was a nice touch and came in handy as its a 25 mins drive home, I was getting hangry on the way home as I was starving,And the time it took was ticking away not wanting to microwave my tea I got my foot down !! and the smell was driving me nuts !!! I simply couldn’t wait !!! Anyway eventually we get home out come, we opened a box 📦 it was like Pandora’s box the smell was amazing and food still piping hot. We ate everything every last crumb and was left in a food coma it was a big meal the food range and quality was outstanding, “TOP RESTAURANT QUALITY” and I used to work in an Indian takeaway, so I’m no stranger to this cuisine, every detail I asked for noted and served to us perfectly. The chicken is so soft And succulent you don’t need to chew, you can literally break it down with your tongue!!! As a bit of good cook myself ☺️I know you can only get this standard by using the best fresh ingredients and spices, and cook it with impeccable timing, However I’ve never tasted takeaway food at this level before, In fact I’ve only a handful of times in my life had food to this standard, But it’s since nearly doubled as I’ve been there four times in two weeks !!! I’ve also got a quicker route home now too so We had it again last night tried different choice and I can still taste it in my head now (Wish I’d got another and put it away for breakfast !!!) Ordered food from here last night 2/2/2020 for the first time. After someone recommended it. Wow what a mistake that was... ordered chicken korma & chicken madras. The korma tasted like custard and was a horrible yellow colour (like sick) the madras had no heat, with a funny taste.. the only nice thing was the rice & poppadoms. It’s safe to say I WILL NOT be ordering from here again.

Been here a couple of times now, first time was ok. Last night however the food wasn’t very good at all.Ordered chicken and donner kebab plain, with onion bhaji and an extra Garlic nan.Food Arrived on time and had some popadoms and dips extra which is a nice touch.Onion Bhaji was very greasy, and not cooked in the middle.The chicken meat in the kebab was delicious, however there was literally only a few pieces of meat. The donner meat was really thickly cut, full of gristle and very difficult to eat.Looking at the chicken cooked in the tandoori oven on social media really got my mouth watering which is such a shame.I’m amazed at all the reviews. But my experience twice with this place hadn’t been fantastic and sadly I’ve had two not so great experiences.Maybe I’ve ordered the wrong things twice.

Have been looking for a new Indian food take away after bad experience at one We’ve used for many years. Saw the recommendations for this one and decided to give it a go. My family and I ordered a range of dishes to collect. On arriving to pick up the meals I found the food was ready on time and staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable and pretty much in line with other places. We are quite fussy about our food and so was not expecting a great deal. however we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty, my whole family said it was the best they’ve had for a long time and better than many restaurants we’ve been to. We will definitely use again.

We’ve been a few times for a kebab and they’ve always been lovely but tonight I fancied a curry so I ordered the speciality honey chicken by far the best curry I’ve ever tried and one thing we’ve noticed with food we’ve had from here it’s never covered in that horrible yellow grease it’s all lovely and fresh and hot 10/10 and brilliant value for money

The food here is simply beautiful. Never greasy, always tastes delicious and the service is brilliant. It really makes a difference when meals are cooked to order. We’ve never had a bad meal from here and have been customers since they opened. A must try.
