Beautiful food, lovely staff and very clean seating area. Would highly recommend. The battered cauliflower bites are to die for. Will be returning very soon.

We never have any issues usually with food from here it’s always nice, today sadly the chips were under cooked and food was cold and wasn’t delivered to door, sadly this is not unusual but as always not sure what we pay delivery for!!!!

The seabass was absolutely delicious. The batter was cooked perfectly. It's been a while since I've had a piece of chip shop fish that was that good!

Both my lady wife and myself visited on Tuesday at around 1300hrs and as is the norm we had our two senior cod & chips, we have visted the establishment many times before and have always been treated with respect and the staff have gone out of there way to help with our dietary requirements, too this end the whole meal was excellent as it has been on many occasions before. We both enjoy our meal in the restaurant and have never had cause to complain about any items we have bought, however we must make a mention about one item on the menu, we declined the mushy peas as they are not too our taste, so Dean brought over a subsitute, it was homemade Tarter Sauce and it was excellent much better than that shop bought stuff, tasty is not the word it was bloody lovely, thanks and very well done all at staff at Whitchurch for looking after us elder patrons. You are the Tops as far as we're concerned. Keep up the good work.

Are we not allowed to say what we feel? There are quite a few similar reviews. This place (Whitchurch Road) in Cardiff is one of the most disappointing chip shops in the area. We tried this shop in Whitchurch and it was truly one of the worst pieces of fish I have ever had. The texture was bad without having any flakiness. The chips were soft, greasy and pale, and not at all crispy. We should have taken it back, but it was already too late. I don't know why this chain of Fish and Chip shops has gone downhill so fast but I can't recommend it. I just won't ever visit again.

The only thing that is large about the large curry sauce is that it is a large rip off. Just to add to the reply. I will be chosing other establishments and think it is fair to let people know exactly what they are paying for

The food received was excellent, however, for the second time in a row, items were missing. Despite what it says on the website, the fish supper does not seem to come with mushy peas or lemon. My daughter's sausage in batter was also missing.

Ordered the following pie and chips 2 jumbo battered sausage and chips 2 potato fritters Got given the following 2 jumbo battered sausage hot just come out of Fryer 2 potato fritters hot just come out of Fryer 1 cold chips 1 cold pie 1 drink £15.20 Was looking for hot food as I am diabetic The person servicing was new so the person watching him should of checked the order was right

Used the too good to go app, thought it was too much food if anything but everything was so nice that I finished it all! Chips, fishcake, large sausage in batter, mushy pees, hot curry, pie, chicken leg and a butty! Lovely genuine staff too

Pre-ordered over the phone, nothing was ready when I got there, no one in front of me in the queue, but they prepared 3 Uber orders and made me wait 20 minutes in the shop. All the food was cooked and they didn't make anything fresh.

Wasn’t happy with the driver the reason I get delivery’s is because I’m disabled and the driver is asking me to go outside to get my food done that twice and he was somewhere else

Large cod suppers were supposed to come with minted mushy peas and a lemon wedges, but we didn't get either. Otherwise very good.

Had a large cod supper, in a box with chips & beans. Banging! I'm very particular about fish & chip shops these days, but this was well cooked fish. The chips were perfect, came in at just over £13 with a can of coke which is slightly expensive but can't complain about the meal at all. Service was good, overall happy 🫡

We have watched the driver go around Llanedeyrn? Then come up this way, took wrong turn, then went passed our turning, came back, came into the start of curlew close and says it was delivered WHERE TOO???? I had messaged the driver 4 times, asked him to ring me no response!!!

Delivery not arrived spoke to just eat who had incorrect address updated just eat on corret address was told that it would be delivered to the correct addresses time now 7.30pm ans still no order delivered to my 84 year old mum

Out of no choice as my regular chippy was closed , I had no choice but to visit Fintans again in Whitchurch. I knew it would be terrible food and I was right. all the chips are mishaped and some were curled up and discloured. Was there anything tasty and attractive about the food NO. The chef needs to quit or get some guidance from the chef in Fintans Llanishen . I suggest look at the quality of chips being served and say would I eat that. Would those chips being served win awards NO Look at the feedback on tripadvisor and Google and think why so many poor comments. Im definately not going to be a regular as it will be disappointing on every visit, the one of visit twice year is ok as im not wasting my cash.

Best. Chip shop in this area Being going there since a was a youngster in my 60s now . Polite staff food is. Great. Clean and tidy shop. Prices not to bad compared to finntens .

Claim to have a ‘Vegan’ menu but cook everything in the same fryers as the meat! So absolutely nothing is vegan. Likely tricked a lot of people.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Thieves and liars. Plus the food is garbage. 1/5 is far too good for this dump. Find an honest and decent place there’s loads around.

Chips were gross, overcooked and looked like they have been there for hours.

Didn't get the Sweet Chilli with our king prawns unfortunately, but they still tasted great.

High quality fish and chips. Fish was chunky and moist with a light batter. The minted mushy peas were the best I have EVER had. Shame we are only visiting. Wish we had a local that good!

Amazing Irish chicken curry and calamari ordered and delivered from llanishen. Food piping hot and really good quality would highly recommend. Uber delivered within 15 minutes excellent service from Uber too

The Haddock was lovely but the description said "skinless and boneless" but there way skin on the fish. Luckily there were no bones. The chips were a bit dry and not cooked enough. They weren't crunchy on the outside or fluffy on the inside and the Colliflower In Batter was under cooked, very small, (I only received 4 pieces) and not worth the price.

But the only thing is they say they put seasoning on the chicken then they wrap the chicken in paper, you pull the paper off the skin comes off with it, they should use greaseproof paper to wrap the chicken in

The service was fantastic! The food so £9.50 for chicken curry and chips and was mainly chips and rice, a very tiny portion of chicken. Wouldn’t pay that again £40 for 4 people and portion was so small

Food ok, delivery bang on time sadly multiple food items missing from order. Attempted to have these re-delivered but vendor declined suggesting seeking a refund from Just Eat. This meant half of our dinner party were without food for another 45 minutes while we good food elsewhere.

Chips were hard and scraps definitely warm ups from yesterday, fish was burnt saveloy was all shriveled up and skin had fallen off ,all went in the bin waste of £30 tried calling no answer of course worst takeaway I've ever had ,will never go there again absolutely appalling!!

Food very small portions and dry. Delivery late and restaurant not helpful. No apology from delivery driver. Won't order from there again. Had a very poor experience the last time with wrong food order and late.

The food was lovely but we waited 3 hours for a driver to be found to deliver our food. We ordered at 6pm ad it arrived at 9pm.

I've worked there as Frayer before and I must say something went wrong Spiro. Your standard in comparison to top gun is downhill, dunno who is on Frayer but dude , fish is done when it floats, let it drip and check for white spots, don't over flour it , just tap it slightly shake of dip in batter let it drip of and as you put it in oil going be it a stir holding via tail part. Or next time I'll fry it myself. Kinda disappointed ☹️. Damian.

My friend Zoe is coeliac and we contacted the establishment to confirm if they offered any Gluten Free products on Sunday - as advertised on their website. Note the website states GF offered every day of the week at Pentwyn. Unfortunately they ghosted us and we’ve had to go about our days not having GF fish and chips.

The food was great as always. The best fish and chips in this area.

Took over 2 hours to arrive. When it came, all the food was cold.

So incredibly slow ..... Ignored at the till for 10 mins and then the food takes more than 30 minutes...

Secret charge of a 3p bag to buy at 20p in order you can take home the food you’ve ordered?? Guy came in who’s a vulnerable person had bag of chips and wanted a bag so I paid the 20p what if I hadn’t been there Curry in a small tub, speciality fish appalling, more fish in a fish finger !! Thank god for the Victorian Fish bar

Called in as we were in the area. Ordered fish bites, 2 jumbo sausages and a large chips, thinking the chips would be enough for three adults, but nope. It was a shocking portion of chips, compared to most other chip shops, and for the price (£4.50). The staff in the shop were nice and there was nothing wrong with the food itself, but you're better off ordering a portion of chips per person.

Fish is cooked to order, chips taste good as well
