Found this chip shop very expensive the fish was soggy and chips we very cold so disappointed total waste of money will not be coming back

I love checking reviews of places I used to or still visit and noticed that they actually reply to reviews.. I have sent an email on 15/12/2023 for missing items and incorrectly cooked food, however over an year and still havent even heard a sorry from them! I havent been to this fintans since then.

We’ve been regular customers for a while and this was our favourite chip shop. However the last 2 times they’ve missed the chips off the order, once when I came in person and ordered prawn and chips and once when using uber eats and ordered chicken and chips. Once I had reached home they had closed so I couldn’t even call, not that I’d go back out to get it. I double checked the receipt and I clearly paid for chips too. Quality seems to be slipping too when you order close to 8pm the food is greasier.

Zero stars. Food not delivered . Refused to take responsibility , There should be a minus star I did not get my food. It was not delivered. When I contacted them I was told I couldn't get a replacement or refund as they dont employ drivers

Orders with uber eats from Fintans Llanishen ( who are my go to chippy anyway) the order was promptly delivered within half an hour piping hot and absolutely delicious!! 10/10 to Fintans yet again

Ordered my food in store, got home and they had missed a meal and they are now closed

we didn't have chips with the cheese burger i did want cheese burger and chips as put and i didn't have chips with my mushrooms in batter

I'm disappointed to give my order 2 stars. My first order received 5 stars. The food was hot and delicious. This time my food was cold. Unfortunately I don't enjoy cold fish and chips.

Wrong sauce on order, 1 item short and a random item sent. Called was told order correct when left shop and driver must have changed it, even though I told them bag was stapled shut and not tampered with. Told unable to rectify as done on Just Eat

All round 5 stars, would recommend 100%.

Food good. However, ordered at 7pm and delivery said 15 to 25 mins, progressively time slipped and arrived at 8.40, 1 hour 40 minutes wait. Just be honest about times, if times were realistic I would happily have ordered 1 hour earlier

The worst fish and chips I ever had…soggy battered. Ordered a large cod but received a small. Highly NOT recommended.

My first order a week ago received 5 stars. Food today was lukewarm. I don't enjoy lukewarm fish & chips. Delivery man rang to say I'm outside when he was not. He was at a completely different house number. I directed him back to my house over the phone.

Do not order from here. I placed an order, and they accepted it.....then kept me waiting for 1.5 hours before just "cancelling" the order. No apology. I've had food from here in the past, was mediocre at best.....looks like many other reviews agree. Was giving them one last chance and they proved how much of an abysmal service they provide. I wish I could give a score lower than 1 star! Update....following you claiming that "I" cancelled my order after waiting for more than 90 minutes....I DID NOT! I would not have said it, if I didn't mean it. Please don't call me a LIAR! YOU had my contact details....why didn't you call to say that the drivers kept cancelling, It would have given me a better impression of you and given me the option to have collected for myself. You have far more "control" over the drivers than I do, and you also know if there is an issue before I do. You cancelled after an inexcusable wait and didn't apologise. You have also doubled down on your "rudeness" by calling me a liar, and excusing your bad behaviour! My review was fair and accurate. Improve your service and you won't get such reviews.....as I notice you have many 1 star!

From when I ordered it , I was told 30 to 40 mins , it was actually delivered 1 and a half hours later, to make matters worse my food was cold . Not impressed.

Fish was delicious, food was piping hot. Absolutely lovely.

This was the 2nd time had food there two month's ago thought it can't be that bad twice. It was chicken cold it parts fish stale.and chip old and rubish.

I had wonderful customer service on 8th Oct in Llanishen Fintans on Station Rd from Josh. He was polite, knowledgable and make lovely chit chat whilst I waited. Really felt like I was the most important person being served fish and chips that day. Well done Josh. You are an asset to the brand. 👏👏

Food was cold and no curry sauce was delivered this is not the 1 st time my order has been wrong there is always something wrong.

Not delivered although I had paid my money called the restaurant and no help at all just kept saying nothing to do with them no help from just eat either so not impressed would not recommend

Grim food. Ordered on line and picked up. All had different things - cod, cod bites, scampi, popcorn chicken. Everything was drowned in oil, like a slurry. No crispiness at all to the chips or the fish batter. And very little fish amongst the soft oily batter. Utterly grim. Enough to put anyone off fish and chips for a long while, which is a shame as it can be good.

Went here last evening by chance. Had the most amazing sea bass and some chips Really delicious great staff and service. Definitely not overpriced either Woul highly recommend

Super fast delivery, no missing items, food quality was great and was still piping hot! Which is a miracle with any take away!

The chips were very disappointing. Tasted of antiseptic, were mainly little, hard leftover bits, which were unseasoned, oily and tasteless. A real shame because as of late the chips were great and it seems they may have resorted back to their former supplier. The battered sausage had uncrispy batter and was limp and lacked flavour. The delivery driver failed to read the delivery instructions and got lost and stressed me out.

Always fresh, always tasty, always spotless. You can order online and go and collect your food or head to the shop and order in person. We had a Hake , a large Cod, a potato fritter, a portion of chips and a portion of minty, mushy peas. Which all came to £19 I still have half the cod and half the chips (lunchtime snack tomorrow). 👍

I ordered a takeaway as a treat for my mum i got the chicken with bbq sauce and cheese and chips,curry and minted peas and chicken bites and mozerella sticks which were all hot and lovely i also ordered 2 fishcakes which when it arrived was cold and we even had to put it in microwave to warm It up which made it taste funny and my mum left it as wasnt happy at all as she was looking forward to it. she loved the chicken bites the curry and minted peas and the mozerella sticks. will be taking my custom elsewhere as owner didnt sort anything out and didnt care at all

Absolutely awful! Batter Rock hard overcooked, ruined the small tiny amount of fish. Chips old and reheated, everything you don't want in a chip meal. Would never go there again. Would not recommend. Pie dry and been on display probably for 24 hours. My sons meal ....well he was sick overnight. Complained told to go and pick up another meal at another time, which of course I'm not going to. Dreadful, beware you have been ⚠️warned!!@

Ordered a steak pie; got steak and kidney which didn’t realise till half way through. Requested salt and vinegar on chips; no evidence was done.

Arrived at collection time but food not ready. Started preparing after I arrived. No advantage in ordering beforehand on Just Eat. Could have just turned up and ordered for lower cost.

The chips were barely warm and the amount of chicken in the chicken curry and chips was laughable. There is more meat on a sparrow. I will be driving further to get better portions and quality of food in future or using one of the delivery service. It clearly is worth paying.

Perfect Good Friday supper. Genuinely the best fish supper I’ve had in years, it was super fresh, tasty and plentiful. The sausages were of great quality in comparison to other chips shops around. I don’t write many reviews but this place truly deserves it, thank you all.

Always enjoy a meal from here. Staff are always pleasant and food is good. Can get very busy on occasion so expect a wait.

Always lovely food. Not the cheapest around but an excellent menu offering more than the average fish and chip shop. My mum has a pensioner portion of fish and chip's, which is a good serving for a smaller appetite, with mushy peas and lemon included, a complete meal. The Fish is cooked to order, so it is always fresh. The service is good and the shop is clean. There is an option to eat in as well if you wished seated by a large window with a clear view of llanishen village.

normally my favourite chip shop until today. paid £12 for cod and chip for the box to arrive with no chips in and a piece of cod that's and I quote "weighed to a specific weight" couldn't even cook me my chips and deliver them for me. so disappointed.

Food is lovely! I like if you order chicken breast they give you 2 options to have it cooked. Fish is really nice and you get a good portion of chips.

I called for help regarding my order that I had just placed. Food was had only just started being prepared so I called to ask if they can send this out 20 minutes later and staff member was extremely rude, said whatever she had to say and just cut me off mid speaking, she hadn’t even let me finish my sentence, and hung up on me. Extremely bad service!

This is the 3rd time I’ve got chips from there that were awful - dried up and tasteless - they looked like they were either yesterday’s or been sat there for hours! Never again they went straight in the bin - a waste of money!

Friday 2/2/24 : Store was filthy food was very dry. Staff were swearing behing the counter. Seating was damaged. Environmental health should be called!

Had to order twice as first order was cancelled,no reason given hopefully I’ll get a refund. Second order delivered on time could have been a lot warmer. But quality of food was good.

It's seems every time I order from one of the Fintans for delivery there's always an issue. Missing items, to overcooked/ dry food, to finding a fly in the batter on one previous order. Tonight's order arrived after store closed so no way to rectify the missing Scampi, leaving the wife with just chips then. Very poor! Sorry Fintans, no more.

Absolutely amazing every time we order. The cod is so fresh and the batter really crispy and not greasy. The kids deal is really good too. Definitely recommend the minted mushy peas!!

Ordered the cod bites and chips £9.00 as well the Little Fintans meal deals, but when food was delivered, I only had the cod bites and the 2 pops

Had the best spontaneous break time food from here! The Lady behind the till was very friendly and I had my order very quickly which is a plus when you only have a 30min break! The chips were delicious with the melted cheese and gravy! The battered sausage was cooked to perfection :) will be returning for more break time food soon

Good food - try the onion rings, but the orders have been arriving very late so no good if you are pairing with food from anywhere else or cooking accompanying food at home.

I’m just disappointed when drivers find the wrong location that they expect you to come and find them even though you’ve placed your location on the map etc

What a dream team at Fintans Llanishen this Christmas Eve! Just been in to get our Xmas eve fish supper and they were fantastic, gave us some much appreciated extras and a lot of cheer. Thanks so much for putting some cheer into a rainy Christmas Eve Kara, Beka, Sophia and Theo!

The chips had been reheated they were hard the cod was cold so I had to bin the little I’ve never had this problem before and I hope not to experience it again very disappointing

Cold, and delivery took 45 mins. Don’t think that was Fintans issue though it was lack of courier.

Come here if you want to read people running around without a clue of what they are doing. Waited 25 mins for 1 meal. Only 3 orders from the other people went out in that time. They seemingly prioritise online orders. Food itself is edible.

Food booked in good time for 6.15 pm delivery. Arrived at 6.54pm

Lovely food, always plenty of chips and chicken. The taverner chicken off the bone and chips is my go too, especially with the amount of cheese they pile on top!
