Lovely food decent prices to kebabs a must try though

Popped in as my usual Kent’s tuck inn shop , in the Arcade was closed. Worst chip shop food , chips stale and kebab rubbery. Avoid .

to say we are regulars everytime we come here the portions get smaller and smaller but the prices are increasing everytime. they dont like cooking battered chips when you ask them to would rather give you attitude. avoid at all costs use the blue sub or nemos

Absolutely revolting… had mixed meat and chips, the chips may aswel have been scrap ends they were extremely over battered, the meat was as dry as a bone, Asif it was in there for days on end and dried up… not going here again, and I do not recommend.

OK, but the size of the large fish is very disappointing ...

Tried here for our dinner the service was not with a smile nor polite,the food was very greasey and not that nice at all. Won't be coming back

Awful, curry sauce was coloured water and chips were bits of potato, cold and flavourless. Wouldn't have given it to my dog! Don't bother

Disgusting waste of money not cooked and pie was freezing cold in the middle,fish was disgusting as well

They had one piece of fish but they called a medium size in actual fact it was about 4" long and So much better you would never have found the fish. And they did the savolois in the microwave. Staff rude never again.

Will not use ever again. Batter batter batter. Battered chips no option or asked if I wanted normal chips. Fish- over battered thick batter . Chicken - greasy sitting in fat in the top oven . Mushy peas . Watered down so much NO Taste . Rubbish Overall - I will avoid in future. Shame as only chippy near by that was open (Sunday), you would think they make an effort 😂.

As a previous chip shop owner I don’t like giving bad reviews as I now how hard this trade is but I had food from here today spent £17 and it’s was actually vile I would never eat from here again, stale chips,cold kebab,hard pie like it’s been there for days.

Was near closing time, kebab meat and chips was nice, beef and onion pasty very dry.

Bones in fish , chips taste of grease and under cooked ,very pale in colour , no taste and very nasty , with scallops, kebab , chips and sausages plus sauces , £17 pound and 50 % of our food went in bin. Will not return

Chips were perfectly crispy and tasted amazing, Burgers were also cooked throughout and tasted great, Would go again!

exceptional large portion value for money but chips were hard asif recooked not sure would have to revisit

Went there today, had medium battered chips, they were disgusting, we tried a few, put the rest in the bin, will never go to this place again, I make better chips in my air fyrer

Absolutely terrible. Food had either been cooked and warmed up over and over or cooked to almost oblivion. Will never use this chip shop again threw the food in the bin.

have had pizzas from finns lately for local youth club. both times really good and went down well with the kids. would recommend.

Awful. Too much sauce on the kebabs killing everything on it. Both of us ill the next morning. Never again....

Avoid ,,,, twice now I've asked 4 something on the menu says £4 then when go 2 pay says £6 and when u question it says the chips are £2 but its says medium kebab meat and chips £4 I give up never go again I'm done plus food wasn't tha good anyway

I had not used this fish shop under new management and will not be using it again. Chips were very greasy and also had been cooked for sometime. Although the fish was ok, there was too much batter and little amount of fish. I asked for mini fish & chips @ £4.50p.

Absolutely shocking quality. Ordered fish and chips and curry sauce... ended up throwing it away. Chips far too over cooked, fish the same but batter all soggy on inside and curry sauce you could literally cut into slices. Will not be using again and I suggest you don't either... better places around with consistent good quality food. Finn's need to up their standards substantially!

Great fish and chips the best around

Me n hubby had kebab n chips the other night and my daughter had sausage. Early hours of the next morning hubby had excruciating belly ache went to work but got sent home due to not keeping off the toilet, purely liquid was coming out, he couldn't keep anything down drinks and food. My 5 year old daughter woke up complained of belly ache when she woke up 30 minutes later she threw up everywhere everything she had that day she just vomited back. My 8 month old daughter had a couple of chips and her Nappies have not been the best. A couple of months back we had chips from here on the dinnertime and me and my hubby had exact same problem. Would give 0 stars even minus's

Very nice fish and chips from here, staff were very polite and helpful. Price not bad either.

Seen it pop back open figured I'd give it a go, unfortunately the chips way too big meaning they were unevenly cooked, the chicken was dry and middle was hints of pink so again undercookd, only one piece of papers used to wrap food, if you can't get chips right which is the basic then it's not a good sign. This 3rd time it's been reopened last few years I'll bet it will be 4 In future, summer rd and nemos are way ahead and consistent hence why they been around, I'm unsure if I'll try again.

First time I've been here since it changed hands and was quite impressed. We had the munch box which comprised of a big mini fish, big sausage, donner kebab and chicken tikka kebab with pitta bread, battered and plain chips and it was really good and lots of food for two, I would say it would satisfy 3 adults at best, because we couldn't eat it all. The shop itself is very clean and new but the only thing is, we had to wait a while for stuff to be cooked and at tea time I think they should have food ready to go. Overall a really nice place.

Im not from the area but stopped for dinner today and had the best fish and chips iv experienced. A massive portion that i had to finish. Will definitely be going back!

Tinned roe was delicious, but battered chips were really greasy, it may of been they were just freshly cooked nevertheless I will use and try the chips again, the staff are very polite and the shop is immaculately clean

I was originally wary of trying this place out due to some recent negative reviews but it’s really close to me and really convenient so I gave it a try with the kids . Not only was it cheaper than I expected but the chips were really good and the kids loved them. Noticed something strange though so hopefully the owners are reading this - You have x2 boards outside advertising pizza but when I came in I noticed your pizza oven wasn’t even on ? What if I wanted pizza ? Just an observation

Guy was friendly just a shame about the horrible Fish and chips just awful! They was uneatable! Look terrible and tasted worse- avoid the place I am from now on. Throw them away and went hungry. Disappointed!

First time coming to Finns since the takeover and so glad that it’s finally opened! Served by a gent who seems friendly enough. Went in the afternoon and it wasn’t that busy, two customers before me. Ordered a large tray of battered chips with curry sauce - the tray didn’t seem like a large 🤷🏽‍♂️. The chips itself were hot and fresh and weren’t greasy. one issue I had was that One chip wasn’t cooked throughly (if I could score 4.5 stars I would), but wasn’t much of an issue. Now the batter is probably one of the best I’ve had, it was very light and crispy. The curry sauce was good as well, thick and had flavour to it. No doubt, I’ll be coming back to try the fish, kebab & chicken! Didn’t see if they accept card, as Charlie’s never use to, but if Finns accept card this would be a plus.

Awful two medium mixed kebabs and two Pepsi 13 quid. No tikka in the mixed kebab hardly any sauce. Worst greasy chips. Avoid. Shame i have to give a full star.

Terrible service don’t even look up to acknowledge you unlike other chippys in area. very slow service. Card sign in window although cash only. Gave me hardly any chicken in my mixed kebab meat even that I chucked n was starving as smelt like sick won’t be using again will stick to nemos, priory or summer rd all levels above in area

I know they have just started. But the chips were greasy. The battered sausage was under cooked. But give them chance

Man who served me was very polite but unfortunately the fish and chips were not hot. The chips were undercooked and tasted horrible I ordered a large fish and chip which cost £7.80. Loads chips but the fish was small. Had to throw them away. Disappointed will not be going there again or recommend.

Food is hit or miss. Sometimes very good , sometimes very bad.

Really tasty food,battered chips are amazing,fish is very fresh and the kebab meat gorgeous,the owner is a really nice guy and very helpful, best chippy around for miles.
