Second visit, still excellent food and service. Busy, almost essential to book, at least 15 people turned away during our 1.5 hour meal.

Excellent food, welcoming friendly staff, fabulous setting a lovely evening in a lovely place We luckily phoned and got a last minute table. The portion sizes are very good and the price os excellent

Food drastically overpriced and overcooked very unimpressed I will not recommend this place to anyone Chicken overcooked and so hard to cut into Sea bass tasty but tiny piece and only three prawns which were supposed to be king prawns Staff were friendly and efficient but not obviously the chef

We managed to go on a friday evening without a booking, very accommodating for our 2 year old and brought his food quick. It was delicious

We had a great experience at Figaro’s with a super warm welcome. Friendly, helpful & attentive waiters. The food we chose from a wide range on the menu was really tasty and personalised to our wants eg extra chile in the calzone. Nice ambience and would re-visit when we are in Pickering

Nice food, but when the bill came it had additional toppings added on. Even though me and my friend took meat of our pizzas and ask for some onion instead. So I don’t think £2.20 additional for onions!! Is ok. Quite disgusted with the response from the man who served me when questioned. Apart from that the food was lovely and would recommend.

It looks so fabulous on the outside but the welcome was somewhat odd , 3 people of what seemed related , in scruffs served us in a far too brightly lit room, very 1979’s decor and furnishings . The menu had seen better days and was quite typical of a local ‘Italian’ We ordered a bottle of wine which was just left on our table, not poured ! Not ideal service ! Ordered two pizzas which were ok , a few toppings, but nice and hot , a lasagne which was fairly meatless and oven chips , Again nice and hot , but Such a shame as with a bit of thought it could be improved so easily as it’s in a lovely setting, in such a lovely town, with a captive audience

We visited as a family of four, enjoying it so much we returned the following night. Service was excellent and friendly, pizza was delicious, steak was just right and the meatballs were fabulous. Staff were great with our two children. Highly recommended!

Having been turned away on a Tuesday evening as they were allegedly fully booked we made a reservation for the following evening. The restaurant was virtually empty which was strange. The staff were friendly enough but the place lacked any atmosphere and they had a very strange choice of background music, more suited to a burger bar than an Italian restaurant. My starter of goats cheese tart was very good but the mains were disappointing. My meatballs were dry and my wife's chicken risotto was overcooked and short on chicken. Both dishes contained large slices of garlic which were overpowering. The food was reasonably priced but we wouldn't go back I'm afraid

What a little gem! On booking I asked for a bit of fizz as it was my partners birthday. Upon arrival we were shown to our table and given Prosecco. There was a birthday balloon on the table and some glittery stuff strewn about the table. The staff were very smiley happy people and made us feel very welcome. The food was superb, perhaps the best Italian I have visited. The staff were curtious and attentive without being overbearing and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Absolutely recommended for a great meal and evening out.

Had a lovely pasta meal here. Managed to squeeze us in at 5.30 when I got in touch. Seems to be very popular so booking is a good idea.

We stayed in Pickering last week and ate here twice. The food was always excellent and the service very good. We particularly enjoyed the garlic mushroom starter, and the Spaghetti Puttanesca main course. Black pepper, Parmesan, olive oil and balsamic vinegar all on offer with the main courses. We will definitely return on our next holiday here.

Pleasant atmosphere and covid safe. Staff were professional and friendly and the food was fantastic. Well worth the visit and excellent value for money. Well done to everyone for making our first meal out in ages a happy memory.

We were a table of 6 including 2 pensioners and a child. Two of us enjoy Melanzane Parmigiana to start while the others shared garlic breads. For the mains we ordered chicken in gorgonzola sauce, rack of lamb, chicken in peppercorn sauce and lasagne. The Chicken and Lamb dishes were served with a selection of sautéed / Mediterranean veg. The restaurant was kind enough to prepare a spaghetti carbonara for my niece as a child's portion which was not listed in the children's menu.All dishes were excellent, all plates went back totally empty! The staff were well trained, professional and extremely aware of COVID guidelines. This restaurant is excellent and I highly recommend it.

Solo diner in the area on work purposes. The restaurant was very quiet due to Covid. Only a few tables occupied which is a shame because the food is lovely. I had Antipasto sharing starter but didnt have anyone to share with so ate the lot myself. Very tasty with different varieties of meats, olives etc. I opted for Lasagne as main which arrived piping hot and fresh with nice chips and garlic bread. I enjoyed it that much I had a take-away the following night. Pizza this time which was fully loaded but I wish I had asked for extra chillies just to spice it up a bit. I will be visiting again in the new year. Staff were friendly and polite.

We have been meaning to try Figaro’s since we arrived , but it just didn’t happen. Finally, on a Tuesday date night we made it and are SO happy we did. Tomato and Red Onion salad, Fresh and tasty. Bruschetta, woe, more tomato goodness. Mains, I had the seafood linguini. Packed with succulent prawns, shellfish and calamari, the linguine itself, perfect. My wife had the linguini carbonara. The sauce was obviously homemade, flavourful and made with (as it should be) pancetta. Excellent.we also had a well priced 2015 Barolo that was more than acceptable. Finished off with a lovely limoncello. Vee reasonably priced at £73.Well done Figaro’s! We are looking at reserving a table permanently!!

Booked here 2 nights as first night was very good. 2 of us shared a starter and had a main each with wine and a coke for £40 which we thought was good value. Would return if back in the area.

Stayed in Pickering mid September and chose Figaro's for our evening meal.What a brilliant choice. The food and service was first rate . We had a wonderful relaxed and an enjoyable evening. All the staff were very friendly and efficient.No wonder the place was well patronised. Thank you.

Wonderfully charming traditional Italian restaurant. Tables were well spaced for social distancing. Service was warm and professional. Pizzas were fabulous - huge and tasty. Wine was delicious. Meal was paced well and we weren't rushed. Needs booking though, as it will get full very quickly when they can't utilise full occupancy

Eating out in a socially distanced world can be challenging and restaurants don’t always manage to get the atmosphere right, but Figaros did. The food was great, good portion sizes and tasty. Great aubergine starter, olives and bread good, pizza just the right thickness (thin!). We were lucky to have the window seat and the service was excellent. We were in Pickering on holiday and will be sure to go to Figaros again next time.

Due to COVID restrictions we were unable to eat in the restaurant but were able to order from the menu and bring home. Hubby had calzone and I had mushroom risotto. Both delicious. Slightly more expensive than other Italian restaurants we have been to but the quality of the food is worth it. Have been unable to get a table or takeaway recently but this is only due to how fabulous the place is! Would definitely advise booking in advance to avoid the disappointment of not being able to eat in this fabulous restaurant.

The first time we made the mistake - and it turned out to be a big one - of ordering a starter (olives for my husband and extremely scrummy mushrooms in garlic sauce for me) which in my case probably would have been sufficient for a main course. Main course for him was rack of lamb and chicken for me. But then there was no room for dessert!! The second time we shared olives and a pizza, then each stuffed in a beautifully presented 3rd course - my iced chocolate parfait was lovely to look at and even more delicious to eat, and my husband enjoyed his too - though typically he can't remember what it was. The service was friendly and prompt, but not overly so, and we thought the value - including the wine - was excellent.

We just had the most amazing meal here. Delicious food and friendly service. We just wish it was closer to home so we could visit more often.

Great little Italian. Lovely staff and a really nice menu. Four of us shared bruschetta followed by mains of seafood linguine, chicken penne and risotto. Finished off with creme brûlée and tiramisu. Bottle of Pinot Grigio all for just under £100. Brilliant food and good Covid-19 measures. Well recommended. But remember to book as far in advance as possible.

Visited several days ago and it was a really lovely evening. Staff were friendly, portions huge and great variety on the menu. I had veggie calzone and it was delicious. Great Covid measures in place. Very popular and with reduced capacity you need to book as far in advance as possible.A piece of advice if you're gluten free: a member of our party ordered a pasta dish to be gluten free, and the waiter told us that the gluten free pasta is fusilli (the twizzly shaped one). When the dish was brought out it was penne, so we knew it was a mistake and not gluten free. The staff were very apologetic, got us a fresh dish and took the meal off the bill. But, it's a good job they mentioned the fusilli thing or we'd never have known and the dish would have just been eaten. So I thought I'd mention this in a review for other customers in case the staff don't always make a point of telling people, as it could have been a serious problem for some if it had gone unnoticed, e.g. a coeliac. In spite of this we'd all definitely return next time we're in the area!

Visited mid week and glad we booked as they were booked up. Great menu choice, food was all delicious and really good portion sizes. The two waiters who were on were also brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us. Would really recommend

We holidayed in Pickering and this italian was recommended....so glad we managed to get a table eventually and well worth the wait....covid measures excellent, service excellent and food delicious, we all had different pizza and salads and all beautifully presented and just the right time between starter and main, pudding is a must,my husband had tiramisu which was out of this world and I managed to force down a sticky toffee pudding, only forced as portions were plentiful but couldn't resist and glad I didn't....well done will definitely return next time in yorkshire

Lovely evening, food, and wine. Huge portions, the garlic mushroom starter was enough for two ! We all had a different pizza and they were all perfect, so were the side salads. The staff were very organised and all Covid guidelines were in place. We will definitely visit again next time we’re in Pickering.

We had a good meal at Figaro’s with most dishes tasty & well presented. Service is homely & efficient. It is bigger then it looks from the frontage, extending back into a further dining area. We were seated in the dinky little front room, it’s a small space, but tables are reasonably spaced out.

My partner and I came here on a recommendation from John at Lowther House...and what a wonderful recommendation it was! For our starter, we had the selection board which consisted of different meats and homemade bread and mixed olives - it was beautiful spread. For our mains, my parter had the sea bass and I had the chicken in a Gorgonzola sauce. Both were cooked to perfection. We left nothing on our plates. The servings were perfect! For our dessert, my parter wanted the creme brûlée but they ran out (we had a late table booking) so he had chocolate ice cream with an espresso and he said the ice cream was homemade and absolutely beautiful. I had the iced chocolate parfait served with strawberries, brandy snap and walnut brittle. It was amazing and I could have it again :) The presentation for all of the dishes were beautifully done and the staff were so welcoming and even had a chat with us! Definitely can’t wait to go again when we visit the area again!

Five of us went on a Saturday night when the restaurant was full. Luckily it extends quite a long way so there was space. We had garlic bread - a great big round of it - melanzane (piping hot) and bruschetta to start with, then delicious chicken, one with Gorgonzola and one with mushroom sauce, one duck and one parpadelle with shredded duck and one spicy sausage. They came with vegetables and were all really good. For pudding three of us had affogato, one the panettone bread and butter pudding and one the chocolate delice. We consumed two bottles of wine and the bill with a tip was £35 a head. Amazing!

I chose figaro's based on social media reviews and wanting somewhere different. The food when it eventually arrived was great but therein lies the issue. we made the mistake of not having a starter so there was a significant gap from ordering to serving of our main course. Most quality italian restaurants provide bread/olives/oil etc as a complimentary accompaniment and it was not big deal really -if we had not been waiting so long!This situation was compounded by the need to constantly ask for replenishment of refreshments -rather than been asked/offered.This is a real shame as the whole experience was effected as a consequence on a night of celebration where a little be more thought/service would have gone a long way. The food is what gets the 4 stars.

2nd visit to this restaurant- first as a family. We visit Pickering frequently as my in laws have a house here but haven’t been to figaros as a family as have worried that my daughter wouldn’t eat well as she is very fussy. But as soon as I asked if it was possible to have a pesto dish for her even though it wasn’t on the menu, the waitress instantly said yes. Also as a vegetarian they changed a dish for me.The portions are HUGE! Atmosphere very nice! Service quick!Service friendly! Very impressed!

We visited Pickering for the weekend and called into Figaro's for dinner. The restaurant was packed to the rafters... but we were shown to a table by a very friendly server. The staff were very professional, efficient and welcoming. The food was served very quickly (considering the restaurant was full to capacity) the server took the time to come to our table, to make sure everything was OK. The food was delicious, (I couldn't pick fault if I tried). So thank you Figaro's for a great dining experience. Will definitely call in again if we are Pickering.

We stayed in Pickering for a long weekend and decided to try the restaurant after walking past it a few times on previous trips to Pickering. We didn’t book snd decided to see if we could get a table. We got a warm welcome and sat at a table for two straight away about 6:15pm. We got drinks straight away and didn’t have to wait a long time for our food. We got a shared starter of bruschetta, my husband got the Duck and I got the chicken escalope and spaghetti. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly. We will definitely going back.

Visited for a family meal on 10th November and enjoyed a superb evening. The Risotto that my son enjoyed was recommended by our very helpful waitress and it did not disappoin and the Pollo alla Kiev Pizza was one of the best pizza's I have ever eaten (including in Rome).Equally impressed with the delicious desserts and the extremely courteous and helpful staff.Would recommend this place to anyone.Alec Wood

A firm favourite, always a warm welcome by the friendly staff. Figaro's has a lovely atmosphere perfect for family occasion or a quiet meal. Excellent choice on menu and specials , always makes choosing difficult but always a pleasure. Good choice of gluten free options available. Highly recommended, great value for money

Figaros is a lovely little restaurant with friendly, attentive staff. Between us we had a mixture of pasta and pizza dishes. Each one was delicious in its own right. Lovely atmosphere, great food and good value. Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Excellent food and service, reasonably priced. Only complaint is that the restaurant was quite cold on the evening we visited which made it a bit uncomfortable.

We had a delicious meal here on a busy Saturday night. The starters of garlic mushrooms came with crispy garlic bread and was just the right size portion. I had pepperoni pizza which had a good crispy base unlike other bases I have tasted in other places but was excellent. My wife had chicken pasta which she said was really tasty. Limoncello dessert to finish complimented the whole dining experience. Staff were helpful and service was quick.

Good clean place, nice staff and really excellent Italian food. The polo pasta was magnificent and the kids adored the pizzas. Not too cheap but worth it!

We went on Tuesday as holidaying in Pickering. We really enjoyed our meal. Everything piping hot and very tasty. My fussy 7 year old gives it the thumbs up. Lasagne, calazone and pizzas all delish. Service really good. Would definitely recommend to others.

We were a party of six during a very busy weekend and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we had a variety of dishes and they were all delicious - this was not the first time we've dined here and it never fails to impress.

With 5 family birthdays within a few weeks of each other, we decided to celebrate at Figaro's. Seven of us had dinner there last night and what a lovely treat it was!! My 86 year old father had the sea bass and said it was excellent, one son in law had a sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection (he's very particular!) the other, a former chef, had linguine frutti to mar which he declared excellent! The rest of us had a variety of specials off the board which were all delicious. There is a wonderful selection of desserts - most made by the owner - not bought in, and the tiramisu is absolutely gorgeous!! A wonderful evening was had by us all. Friendly, efficient service, good food, and lovely, relaxed atmosphere. It was also noted that a party of five Italian visitors enthused about the food - high praise indeed! We are already planning our next visit! Highly recommend!

this is a very nice restaurant the Staff in FIGARO'S are very polite and look after you all the service excellent and the meals were great we had Steak, Gammon, Fish and meat pie. the place is a credit to the Management.

Popped into Figaros for an early evening meal without a reservation. Service was attentive but not overly so. We shared the best brusetta ever, followed by very good main courses. If ever back in the area would certainly go back and would certainly reccommend.

First time visit at this restaurant and was very happy with the service all the way through. Our starters arrived and secretly wished I’d opted to share as it was plenty for two. The four of us all had different options from the menu which had plenty of choice. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone that asked where to eat.

During a wonderful visit to Pickering, I arranged to have a meal here with our friends. Looking forward to my calzone I did not expect it to be brought to me burnt. It was taken back with an apology and another produced, also burnt. I had to take this one to their counter to reject it. The sad thing about this very nice restaurant is how they can produce 2 burnt meals! as important the management/supervision did not even identify themselves to me to discuss the poor service and food I returned twice. This was compounded by the fact I asked for the management to be told how this had spoilt my evening and no one came to speak to me. This shows the contempt they have for their customers who they have disappointed, although quick to take your money. Inappropriate action and poor response, not what you expect, a disgrace really.

Table wobbled and had to ask it to be rectified 3 times. Requested extra water twice before we were given some. Had to ask for Parmesan to be put on the meals. Had to send one meal back twice and then had to cancel the meal. No apology, no recommence for the spoilt evening. Oh and don’t order the garlic bread with mozzarella it was lovely but as it’s big enough for 4 to share ... we ordered 2 and wasn’t prewarned.

Family meal, there was a large selection of meals for us to pick from. Food arrived promptly with good service.

This is a beautiful little Italian. We visited twice during our stay in Pickering and both times our meals were very enjoyable. Lovely kids menu to and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Would recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Lovely place. I would suggest to book a table as it does get very busy.

Popped in on a wander round the town on a miserable evening and found it to be warm with friendly service & well frequented by locals. The food seemed very authentic & was freshly prepared - would definitely recommend

We had two takeaway meals whilst in n holiday, the pizzas and calzone were decent, but also ordered linguine carbonara and that was thrown away on opening . I should of complained but it was our last night. So we recommend you stick with Pizzas.

We went for dinner and got a table straight away even though we hadn’t booked and it was busy.

We went to Figaro's mid week and although there were several tables taken we were quickly seated. The service was quick and efficient and our starter of insalata caprese was just as we expected. I ordered a pasta dish which looked rather strange as it had so many black olives in it, but it tasted fine. My other half ordered lamb cutlets which was rather average and in my opinion should have included seasonal vegetables even though it came with a pea puree. Overall impression was just 'okay'

Very accommodating, they fitted us in at short notice, allowed the dog in and we ate fabulous seafood linguine.

Although the music and service and overall atmosphere was good. The food wasen't anything special. My mother enjoyed frutti di mare both siblings got the lasagne and my brother complained that it was too liquidy and the portions were huge. The chips were certainly not homemade and below average and the roast potatos were inedible. Really enjoyed my calzone though and the garlic bread and olives starters were quite nice .

Very good Italian food accompanied with friendly staff. Not cheap, not a rip off either. The ambiance is quite tasteful & there’s more seating up 4 stairs in the back room.

We were staying in Pickering for four days and the B&B; we were staying in recommended Figaro’s to us. We were not disappointed. As it was a Sunday evening we rang and booked a table, this is a must as the restaurant was full. The staff on duty were friendly and very knowledgable, the menu extensive and the atmosphere spot on. My son had a pizza and I had the special Linguine with large prawns. Both were cooked to order and delicious. I had chocolate parfait for dessert and it was amazing. Would recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone visiting/staying in Pickering.

We had Chicken two night, with peppercorn delicious for dessert one both had Tiramasu, the next it was creme brulee and Tiramasu. The other I had linguine with sea food delicious, my wife had chicken and penne for dessert bread and butter pud for me. the wife couldnot manage one.. The is always good and the service very good.

As we were visitors to Pickering, we chose to eat here based solely on the menu on their Facebook page as it had plenty of choices for us and the prices were reasonable. We were very pleased we did as, from the first welcome to the paying of the bill, they were both friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and their Calzone Carnivoro is one of the best calzone that I've ever had in the UK.

A good Italian restaurant with lots of choice. Food is a very good standard and pizzas are excellent. A few more gluten free options on the pasta would be nice as they only have one.

This is a great local Italians. OK I think it might be the only one in Pickering but none the less they serve great Italian dishes with a wide choice menu. The wine is also very reasonable at £17 for the house wine. We both had pizzas and they were excellent. That is to say thin, crispy and mega tasty. Staff were attentive without being overly so. Would definately recommend this place.

Very busy on our visit. A varied menu and specials available. In our opinion drinks rather pricey. Seems popular with locals so best to pre book.

Always a fabulous pizza here! I have the same one everytime and always delicious, and very authentic. The restaurant looks small from the outside but goes back along way and the atmosphere is always nice. very good service from a lovely waiter called George who was knowledgeable and friendly with a good sense of humour.

Last year we had some fantastic meals at Figaro's whilst on holiday. So naturally when we decided to return to Pickering this year, we had to try them again - and ended up spending I think 4 evenings here in a week.

Popular eating place in Pickering, conveniently situated, few steps to entrance. 'Lively' atmosphere early evening with families - busy, but quieter later. Booking advisable. Unintrusive background music. Friendly, welcoming 'informal' service. Good range of menu - few dishes on specials board. Delicious food, freshly cooked to perfection, beautifully presented - not rushed. I had sea bass, my husband had rib eye steak. Certainly recommend Figaros.

Reasonable selection of italian dishs to choose from and cooked the way it should be authentic italian style. Good service too.

Me and my wife rented a lodge in Cropton which is just outside Pickering and on the first day asked the staff if they could recommend some places. They recommended the Black Swan so a couple of hours later we headed into Pickering and noticed Figaro but despite being big lovers of Italian food decided to go with the recommendation of the Black Swan. The black Swan is a great little pub and cannot fault if your after a tradional pub with some good pub grub and ales but on our last night we decided to give Figaro a go and we're both so glad we did!

12 of us ate here recently.Fresh crusty bread and olives and dips for starters so tasty. All the meals were excellent and served with a smile . Too full for desserts , but the tiramisu is wonderful please try it .

So, ladt Sunday was my turn for a birthday meal at Figaro's with all the family! There were 7 of us and everybody was delighted with their meals. The starters were lovely and the main courses were absolutely delicious. My 85 year old father plumped for the calazone (again!!). It was enormous but he ate it all and declared it first rate! My youngest daughter and I had the Pollo Crema from the specials board, which was beautifully cooked and very tasty. My other daughter had the Pollo al Gorgonzola which was delicious (I had a taste!) and she loved it. One son-in-law had the rib eye steak and said it was one of the best he's ever had - high praise indeed as he is a steak connoisseur!! The other had the Spaghetti Bolognese and again said it was one of the best he's had. My husband had the Pollo Fagioli which was a chicken breast stuffed with black pudding, and herbs and served with a cassoulet of beans. He said it was very good indeed. 7 clean plates and 7 happy people! Desserts were fabulous as always and we went home feeling very full and very content. Great food, great service, great prices. Thank you Figaro's - we'll be back again very soon!!

I really enjoyed my Lamb...medium rare and cooked to perfection...The roasted potatoes and vegetables were a lovely complement .. The service is friendly and professional...Highly recommended!

Great menu selection of Pasta and Pizza choices. Nice selection of daily specials and prices were not outrageous given the quality of the food. Restaurant is busy on weekends so probably best to book in advance.

Not the best Italian I have eaten in, clean and tidy but not the best atmosphere. But the food was good and the portion size was massive, my meal could have fed 2 people easily. Very reasonable prices and good service.

After a previous night of fine dining, my wife and I just wanted a simple meal. What we got here surpassed our expectations. Our starters - albeit quite large - were beautifully presented. However, my main of Spaghetti Ragu blew my socks off. I rarely order such a dish when eatting out as I cook it frequently when home, however, I'm glad I did this time as it was possibly the best I've ever had. 5*.
