Fifty9 in City of London, Westminster

Booked and bought a table with extras for my birthday celebration with friends. Paid quite a bit of money for a package which was fairly easy to do. However from the moment we arrived they were very unaccommodating even though we were paying customers. The bouncers automatically assume you are there to cause trouble as soon as they see a BLACK PERSON in the queue and are simply rude. They will ask you questions that they do not ask anyone else and then on will watch you around the bar and make you feel uncomfortable like you do not belong. I do not need to explain the whole story on here but if you are a group of black people (even if you more than happy to pay and just there to celebrate a birthday) the bouncers and some of the staff will treat you different and are more than happy to be aggressive towards you for no reason even to women. Music was good but not worth the inferior treatment. What they will say is the bouncers are black so they can't be doing anything wrong but they know exactly what they are doing and are more than likely told to act this way by management. DO NOT GO HERE birthday ruined.

Pedí un espresso de martini en el bar y después de 20 minutos de espera, y al ver al barman atendiendo a 4 personas que me habían pedido, le pregunté educadamente cuándo recibiría mi bebida, ya que había estado esperando durante tanto tiempo. ante algunas de las personas a las que ya había servido. The literal worst club I have ever been to. The staff insisted that I pay for drinks twice, and kicked me out because I refused (adding to £50!!!). Other people in my group also had a sh** time because THREE were threatened with being kicked out for no reason. We will NEVER pick this place again for our company Christmas’s outing, and I recommend nobody does ever - literal sh***. Honestly the anger is unreal. Will never visit here again. H

We had booking for 10 people in the bar and later on in the dance floor. Both were messed as the tables were ocupado and couldn’t make the people move. They finally could give us a space. The staff at the bar were nice and helpful but the lady taking care of us seemed to not understand anything what she was doing! The lady selling jäger bombs kept on offering to one of my friends although she was already completely drunk and I told her not to offer her any more as it was le easy enough. It was not the most pleasant experience.

Some friends had recommended this place so we all went on Friday night. Sadly the club downstairs was closed for a private event but the DJ upstairs in the bar more than made up for that. It was very busy but the bar staff worked really hard to keep the drinks coming. The atmosphere was great and everyone friendly. The doorstaff were very polite and friendly (something you don't see enough of) despite being very busy. All in all a fantastic night. I can't wait to come back and experience the club. Thank you Fifty9 for a great night.

Enjoyed a few cocktails in Happy Hour (between 5-7 every day) before heading off for dinner. Most tables were reserved on a Saturday evening, although there were a few bar stools along the bar you could sit at. Some tables were not reserved until later though, so you could sit at them until the reservation time. Good table service, great selection of cocktails, and good atmosphere. Great location, right on Berkeley Square Gardens - great for fancy car spotting !

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, drinks are very reasonably priced. Could do with more variety of lagers on tap. We had a fab night!

This is a very popular bar that the suits frequent after work. Very nice to have a drink outside on the pavement and watch the world go by with Sexy Fish to the right and Annabel's to the left. We had some very nice Pornstar Martinis here...a nice buzzy vibe... They have a daily happy hour 5pm to 7pm.

I attended Fifty9 bar to celebrate my 21st Birthday, where I booked a table for me and my friends which I payed £50 for. After being inside for a period of time, we left for 20mins to go and find my friend who had not shown up yet and as a young woman walking the streets on a Saturday night by herself of course we are going to go and find her! We then got back after literally 20 mins and was told I wasn’t allowed back at my table because we had been ‘gone for an hour’. After explaining numerous times that I had payed for a table which the security knew, they disregarded me and told me that I can speak to the manager when she is less busy even thought I could clearly see her standing there doing nothing. The security were very rude and abrupt with me and I was getting very upset as my birthday was now ruined. The manager came out at last after making us stand in the pouring rain and rudely asked for my name so she could check the list as if I made it up. She then went and checked the CCTV to see how long we were gone for which I think is really weird and have never come across such a thing in my life. The usual process is if you have paid for a table and you go outside for a short period of time then they let you back in. If there is a no re-entry policy then they should state this when they can clearly see you exiting the club. Furthermore it shouldn’t even apply to people who have paid money for a reservation! The manager checked the CCTV and after realising she didn’t have a leg to stand on but as she had taken it too far and now embarrassed herself told us that if we want to come back in then we would all have to pay an extra £10 each! Both management and security took the absolute piss out of us and ruined my birthday. I will not be returning and will definitely not recommend it to anyone. Considering they are based in Berkeley Square and have a high standard and reputation to meet/maintain, this was not reflected in the level of service that me and my friends received.

Popped in to have cocktails before going to a restaurant for dinner. Nice bar, great cocktails, really made to feel unwelcome by the female bar person, customer service training needed. Will not return.

Went for my nephew and his wife's farewell drinks. Good night out however had a 50% discount voucher off drinks available for January but at the end of the night, the discount was not taken off my bill. Have emailed the bar on three occasions.

This was our third venue for the afternoon for a few drinks . A lovely lady behind the bar served us a few times with a lovely smile.

Popped in for a wine and a JD - ended up having a few , plus a few jaeger bombs from a delightful waitress coming round the tables. The venue is ok , and the choice of drinks is average. The guy in the cloakroom is a very lovely man .

Fun place to be in Mayfair. Not your typical Mayfair bar which is nice as drink prices are reasonable except the entry fee of £10. Staff are friendly and security are good. DJ was very good - Saturday night dance!

A well placed bar, great value at happy hour. Far too noisy for 6pm, no chance of conversing with neighbours. I like good music but this was ridiculous.

Having moved on from an earlier event ended up here for some later drinks in affable surroundings. Popular without being packed and allowed drinks purchases without long wait. Good informal place to convene in Mayfair without sky high prices.

Went here for the first time for a close friends engagement party last week and had a great night. The music was good, drinks were reasonable price, would've been nice to see a wider range of cocktails but overall was a fun night.

Popped in here in between business meetings to have a restorative Sauvignon Blanc and to use the WiFI. Batman on duty couldn’t have been more helpful, bringing a top up when I was on a conference call and was suitably subtle. A tad expensive but location location location right? I didn’t eat but the snacks/lunch looked good. Mental note to try out and also come back later in the evening.

It's a decent bar. A bit for the young uni crowd?Doesn't feel too posh and classy enough. You don't feel like you're in Mayfair to be honest. Reasonable drink prices pretty good which is why I think it attracts the younger consumer.Dj is decent nothing special. Staff are could be a little more friendly. It's really a cheaper bar for those who can't really afford the real Mayfair bar prices.

This busy evening bar is not a bad place for a quick lunch. Fish and chips, burgers, good selection of grilled sandwiches. Service is friendly and quick and the place is not busy at lunch time. Tables are high up with chairs that have no food rests so a bit uncomfortable. Very reasonable prices

Nothing exciting or innovative food-wise, but reasonable prices, and a window seat gives you a chance to observe the street life outside on this bustling street corner.One small niggle: if the menu says "salsa", that doesn't mean "ketchup" is an acceptable, unannounced substitution.

We had a few drinks after work on Thursday. Overall great value for drinks in this location but the service is slow and some of the bar people are rude. 16gbp sharing platters are great and 2for 12 martinies / drinks are also good. Loud music makes it impossible to have a chat but they have a few sits outside in the smoking area. Overall an ok alternative for a cheap drink in the area.

After destroying my company (and personal) bank cards I stumbled on the gem that is Fifty9. I was greeted at the door by Daisy the manageress and she was very hospitable.Daisy found my client and I a table to hold our meeting, despite them being busy already and managed to get us in a quieter spot, which was great considering the after work drinkers were arriving by the tube load.Daisy introduced us to Vinny our waiter, barista and bartender for the afternoon and the impeccable service continued he's and asset to the business We had coffees, mains and then moved on to post meeting drinks and we were both very impressed with the service, attention to detail and the most important thing in this review THE PRICES!Then the evening got better Daisy retuned and advised us that Happy Hour had started!Things got even cheaper but the high standards of service continuedThen the club downstairs opened! Really is a must go to venue!There are much bigger names, menus and price lists in Berkeley Square but if you want Mayfair customer service and attention to detail without having to pay for it go to Fifty9It is the first restaurant/bar I've been to in a long time that you leave feeling looked after and not ripped off for the privilege Daisy and Vinny Thank you!

Customer service was beyond poor. Poor ability in handling customer complaints. Drinks made to a bad standard and after we went to resolve this the lady behind the bar was confrontational and quick to start an argument. We left very soon after.

Visited Bar Fifty9 on Friday evening. Was real good fun, friendly staff and well located. No long waits at the bar which makes a difference! Only downside is it's expensive, but you expect that when in Mayfair.

This is a nice little bar at the corner of berkley square, a low key place but with a great atmosphere. Enjoyed sol beer and bunch of shots. The music was great and lot of people dancing. Had a great time, a very nice club, crowded enough to have a good time. Will go again when in London next. Lot of eateries around incase you get hungry after drinking. Worth going.

Very good place had my girlfriend birthday here, they had balloons in our vip area and decorated the area as I asked sparklers when the bought our drinks bottles over the made a fuss over us will defo go back

If you like good US cocktails don't bother coming to Fifty9! They have a handful of cocktails on their menu and will not deviate from this list. The bar person was quite rude when my wife asked if they could make a lemon-drop martini! We ended up ordering a champagne cocktail which was served with warm champagne. A waste of time and money!

went there late on a saturday night. ridiculous dress code, cover, and filled with horrible people--tourists, old men looking to score, etc etc. packed with people, not fun.

I took my staff out for drinks. The price of the drinks are one thing but twice the bar man threw them away when our back was turned. When I question this, after seeing him throw the last one away. He said "prove it" then proceeded to call security. If you go here DONT leave your drinks unattended. In fact DONT GO HERE there are far better places in London where they don't rip you off by throwing your drinks away.

Visited Fifty9 with group of girls. We had a fab time & enjoyed the happy hour which I have been told is the best in Mayfair,well it defiantly lived up to the high expectations! Place was really busy and the staff were approachable & friendly. Recommend anyone in the area to go. We will defiantly be returning Xx

For a quick drink with friends after work, Fifty9 is perfectly serviceable. The prices, for an unassuming and run-of-the-mill bar - even considering its prime Berkeley Square location - aren't exactly modest (£6.65 for a single gin and tonic, £5.80 for a Birra Moretti) but it's comfortable and the bar service was swift and professional.

Absoutely awful. I would not recommend this place. Very disorganised staff. We hired the VIP area for a birthday and they couldn't even get the sparklers out when the birthday boy was present. After doing their review, telling them I was disappointed, they didn't even apolgise. We left early because it was dreadful. Puts a downer on Berkley Square!

When I applied for vouchers online I was quickly bombarded with daily phone calls and emails.On 3 occasions over the phone I was told I could use these vouchers until 11.When we arrived we were shown our extremely small table squished in the corner of the room, which in the ten minutes we were there, several people attempted to sit at- to which a member of staff Rudely said "I told you,you need to remain seated-" impossible when there is no table service. We left our lovely bar about ten minutes away to get to your bar before 11,We were quickly shut down at the bar when trying to use the vouchers.... when the lady on the door came to see us she did not once try to see the situation from our point of view.Just shutting down any talk of our previous conversations with "that's the same team and they are not here"Unless you have something in writing I cannot help you- how ridiculous to ask for something in writing from me. May I please suggest your staff relay what has been said to potential customers with the staff on duty in the evenings.Communication is vital if your dealing with the public and also good manners.We were appalled and then paid another £10 to get back to the bar we were in. All in all dreadful service and a dreadful member of staff you have at the door.Charlotte Mackie

We had never eaten at Fifty9 before and booked up as we were up town nearby. The pub is on trend with modern decor and tables you need a ladder to get on the stools but other than that - no moans at all The menu isn't vast but we all had different things including vegetarian and all of us loved the option we had all chosen. The service was top notch and the manager couldn't do enough for us so if you are around Berkeley Square and fancy some great food at a reasonable price, then this is the place for you. *****

Booked a table for my birthday for 5 people at 6pm, which I had to pay £25 reservation fee. On arrival the table was already being used. To cut a long story short, we decided to leave and I demanded my £25 back. I did eventually get this back in cash, but it took 15 minutes of heated discussion. It wasn't the money, but the principle of the whole situation. Why should companies get away with such terrible service ! To top it all, I have today received an email to complete a customer service experience survey. As you can image it was very damming.

My poor friend reserved a table for her birthday and they had booked all the tables and gave us a tiny little table (when we should have had a private one) with a few stools they had pulled up.

We booked this place out for the annual Christmas jumper party and were not disappointed. I'd advise booking a table beforehand downstairs for a party as you'll get table service as long as you buy a bottle of something. Great service, very happy with the night and honestly, think that the money spent on the drinks etc was worth it. Great little spot, recommended.

Met my mother after work. We choose to come here since it was near my place of work. We stood by the bar for 10 minutes before we got served, whilst the staff were talking amongst eachother. When we tried to get someone's attention they pretended they never saw us. Never in my life have we experienced rudeness. Won't be coming back again for sure.

I invited work colleagues for a drink to celebrate my promotion at work. It was a Thursday night and there was probably a group of 15+ of us. There was a great atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed themselves, the bar wasn't overcrowded and those that wanted a seat got one. It's nicely furnished and in a great location both for travel links and other venues. There's no doubt I'll be back!

I visited this club with a small group of friends and we had booked a table in advance which was very reasonable and easy to do. Vicky who took our booking over the phone was very helpful. It may have been a quiet night but it was not that busy the night we were there. Drinks did take a while to get served and for the price you pay in here you would expect something a bit quicker. Nothing massively wrong with this club just wouldn't rush back.

We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite and the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The service was great and we enjoyed the place so much we went back later in the evening for drinks.

We reserved 1/2 the bar for our CEO's birthday and I think the whole office would agree it was one of the best nights we've had out this year! Cocktails are amazing, service is great and the atmosphere is fantastic. Over all would highly recommend. Such a fun night, with great music, food + drink and friendly staff

Was a great night at the club on Saturday, music was hip and trap so very lively and brilliant atmosphere. Big shout out to Elena for arranging the guest list which made the whole night smooth, would recommend a visit and food.

I visited on a Saturday night in April.I booked and paid for the double bar tab deal online which meant I paid £25 but got £50 to spend at the bar. When the rep called me to confirm my booking , I was pleasantly surprised to also be offered a table. When I arrived the upstairs bar was very full and it was not clear how I would find my table. I was told to speak to the hostess who was not by the door at the time. When I eventually found her, she told me that I have a table booked with a free bottle of cava, but she had no record of me paying for the bar tab. Luckily I had the confirmation email on my phone which immediately clarified that I had in fact paid. I was then led to a table where some girls were sitting at but the hostess kindly asked them to vacate it. My cousin had also booked a large area downstairs for her birthday and so I planned to join her, however the hostess informed me that I was not prohibited to bring the free bottle downstairs. I was with a friend, however we were unable to finish the bottle between us. We attempted to go downstairs with a glass of cava, but a bouncer advised us that we would need to exchange our glasses for a black plastic tumbler which could be obtained from the cloakroom. Much to my disgust the tumbler I was given was dusty and also sticky. I dread to think what the inside of the cup looked like had it been white. The other thing that was quite annoying was that in order to order a drink from my tab, I had to find the hostess each time to place my order, This also meant that if I was downstairs, I had to keep coming up to the ground floor bar to order. The music was good but ordering of song selection needed some work as it was all over the place.All in all, it was an average night. More of a place to warm at up before you go onto the final venue for the night.

I was meeting some friends here who were out from Australia/Switzerland along with some local Londoners keen to try somewhere new. This place looked central for us all to meet. Before going I signed up to their mailing list to "Get a Free Gin Cocktail" as per their promotion. I put in my details and the code that was meant to be sent to my email never arrived(I checked spam folder) so instead I took a screen shot of the code that I would need to use. All my friends experienced the same (no email received) or had an error where they had to "select a group"(?) and so were never sent a code. On arrival I mentioned to a very harried and seemly stressed out bar man (I'm not sure why as the place was hardly full - I think I was one of two people ordering at that time) that their online promotion wasn't working only to be told that it was buy one get one free until 7 so it didn't matter? Very bizarre response. I then asked for a pineapple mojito which was so watered down and has hardly any taste. My two friends from Switzerland arrived first and while they were deciding what to get the hostess came up and asked us if we wanted two free martinis as the bar man had made them in error. My friend said she would have them and so her boyfriend went off to order a beer for himself. We waited while the hostess went to get the drinks but they never materialised. Eventually (about 20 minutes later) when she walked past again and we enquired about them she said that the bar man had given them to someone else. But she had neglected to come and let us know!? Terrible customer service! The boyfriend then had to go back to the bar to order a drink for his girlfriend. Other than that the décor is fine, the music is just that touch to loud where you're having to strain your voice to speak to someone and then the rest of the table cannot hear you unless you're speaking directly to them. Another couple in our group ordered some food (pizza) which was undercooked so the base was doughy. Luckily I switched to soft drinks/water early in the evening so avoided wasting vast amounts of money. It's a pity as the venue is great.

What a welcoming and fun bar. Far better than Fogs round the corner. Fogs is pretentious, whereas Fifty9 is relaxed, fun and the sharing porn star is fantastic.

This is a nice bar in one of London's most exclusive areas. As you'd expect it isn't cheap but the service is friendly and the drink selection is great.

We had this place booked for our Xmas work party. What a shame! Awful! If I could give the place zero points I would. Not only did the cloakroom staff lose lots of people's bags and then get aggressive with customers, one of the toilet attendants (classy) accused my friend of taking drugs (he didn't). Then later, a bouncer actively hunted my friend down and threw him out, eventually explaining that my friend had given him attitude about an hour before (he hadn't). He would have left him outside without any explanation or without his bag if we hadn't joined him. What vile, aggressive door staff! Not concerned with your safety, just with ruining your night. Bar staff are surly and push you out of the way too. Don't ever go. Ever. Seriously.

Excellent evening with pleasant staff and good cocktails. Nice atmosphere, we were a group of 7 celebrating a birthday and were made very welcome. We had some email communication which was responded to efficiently prior to our visit. Would be happy to return in the future.

I booked this place for my birthday, we got a table for 10 people and paid a deposit which was then put behind the bar. we also got a free bottle of bubblyOn arrival a waitress came over (Scarlett!) who waited on us hand and foot all night. she was so friendly and helpful....she made the night!had a great time and would 100% recommend!

Stopped at this bar for a quick drink with a few lady friends on route for a night out. Ordered a round of cocktails... as I was drinking through my straw I looked down the side of the glass and a saw a dead fly that was squashed in the middle in between the ice. One of my girls returned the drink to the bar and explained why it was being returned... at which point I was expecting a replacement drink, seeing as I had not even had half the drink! But nothing came and by which time we were leaving. When the bill came my drink was on there and even after bringing this to the servers attention we have to wait for them to find out if it was ok to take the drink off the bill! What was shocking was that there wasn't even an apology. At least this wasn't the main destination for the evening... but shocked at the low standard of service.

I visited this place for a drink one evening with some friends. There weren't many people in the bar on a Wednesday evening, just a few sat at tables. There was a lady at one end of the bar who the bartender was chatting to, who already had a drink in her hand. Regardless, the bar tender seemed attentive and took our order as soon as we were ready. I asked for a glass of Moët whilst my friends opted for a cocktail and glass of wine. The measures of my friends' drinks seemed adequate, however upon pouring my drink, I noticed it seemed a bit short to the usual level of a champagne flute. The lady that the bartender was conversing with had a glass of prosecco which had been filled to the top.. A contrast to my half full glass of Moët! I politely asked the bartender if I could have the same amount as the lady further down the bar for consistency.. However the bartender informed me that "she works here so she gets more.. Sorry, you have the correct measures." I was actually a little shocked that this seemed like a valid justification for being short changed! Regardless of whether I had the correct amount in my glass or not, it would probably be advisable for the bar staff to keep their perks a little more private so that paying customers don't seem at a disadvantage.

Whilst wandering through Mayfair looking at the Rolls Royce sales station we came upon Fifty 9. A newly opened eatery. Good ambiance in a nice little eatery. We had the soup and sandwiches for lunch, it came as a set. The soup was carrot and coriander and was extremely generous and tasty, the sandwiches were fresh and filling. The prices were for that area very reasonable indeed.
