Xlent ambience, great food worth a visit 👍

This place has definitely gone down hill, firstly I must say all the staff were lovely, but that was the best it got. 12 of us went for a birthday meal, when we walked in we were told their gas had packed up so there were no fizzy drinks or pump beers, I suppose this couldn’t be helped but was disappointing. Then the food, my grandsons chicken wings were tiny and looked very dry and unappetising, the garlic bread the same, I ordered a lasagna , this tasted cheap and nasty, half way the small portion I realised there was no meat and I had been given the vegetable lasagna (I think), also the side salad was absolutely swimming in dressing. Then my mum ordered a latte which turned out to be a mug of hot milk, this was quickly apologised for and change by the friendly staff. The staff are lovely and work hard but he food has sadly gone downhill (and it weren’t as if it was busy)

Nice chilled out played pool in the adults only area which is nice and chilled. Usually drink and eat at the shoemakers in tuckswood, Norwich which is ok but not a adult only area there. Made a nice change. Good service and value

We had an amazing breakfast, 15 people in our group were super pleased. All served on time and hot, quality food. The assistant manager Andy and his staff were very polite. Great experience, highly recommended.

Everything was great, food was well priced and tasty, service was wonderful, only extremely minor complaint is possibly a little more butter with the breakfast toast!

The food is budget and microwaved but not awful. The service is mostly pleasant. The atmosphere I find is dependable, it’s a family pub but was put off on one occasion but a particularly rowdy family with wild children speaking profanities. Other than that it’s mainly pleasant. However, upon my most recent visit as we sat outside after our meal watching our children play a HUGE rat ran accross the play area. Needless to say we promptly left after that!

Yvonne was friendly and the service was excellent. Prompt hot food.

I've always enjoyed my visits to the fieldfare, the staff are always happy to help even when they are flying about super busy. The food is tasty and the beer is good. I'm yet to have a disappointing experience!

This is our quick go to place for a quick reasonable priced meal. Good selection and cheaper special day offers. Usually plenty of seating, it could do with a bit of a spruce up but you get what you pay for. Staff are good but this time around 1 member of staff was chastised in full hearing of customers something that should have been done elsewhere. Just my opinion though. And things were missing from one of our meals. Again heard member of staff in kitchen getting told off for getting the order wrong. Car parking plenty of spaces get there well before 9pm though or you won’t be served. Remember this is pub grub so don’t expect too much then you won’t be disappointed. 🤣

Had a lovely meal at Fieldfare. Been a while since I've been out for food and the gentleman (Micheal) who brought food too our table was such a lovely friendly bloke.

Always a great experience, staff very helpful and cheerful. Food is good and hot. Great atmosphere. Always bring family here when we can.

Staff are so friendly and a great laugh food is amazing great value for money awesome customer service well definitely be making regular visits

You get what you pay for, and we didn't pay alot. So don't expect too much.

Fieldfare food is always amazing and on time. Andrew and Micheal are amazing at customer service. Always greet my grandparents with such care and a smile. They always go out of their way to make time to have a conversation with their customers.

The staff were so very busy but their attention was first class. A very special mention for Michael who was just amazing under all the pressure the restaurant was experiencing. He deserves recognition from green king as do the other staff. Food was great too.

Good breakfast, lovely service but the pub is a bit run down.

Food was not very good. But more than that i was ignored at the bar by the barman called Ryan. I wanted to leave but my mate persuaded me to stay and even he wished we had gone after tasting the food.

I would recommend this place for breakfast. We was greeted and served by a man called Devan. He was welcoming and helpful when taking our order, made sure our food was okay and cleared the table quickly and asked if we needed anything. The food was served hot and was tasty. Great value for money. Would visit again.

The quintessential picture postcard village pub/restaurant but with the added bonuses of great service,great atmosphere and great food.Would highly recommended if you're in the Diss _ Eye area to pop in you're not going to be disappointed

Unfortunately wasn't happy with our visit on the 5th Sept. Was my partners birthday and the steaks weren't Cooked how we asked and the portions were tiny. Asked for no ice in drinks and the girl put ice in and wen I said she just went oh sorry and that was it.. we use this place a lot but may go elsewhere for a while. Non of the usual very good staff there and was disappointed as it ruined my partners birthday meal

Love this place, this is our family's go too for a nice meal out, fast service, good food and friendly staff, and the outdoor play area is nice, haven't tried pool there yet though

Well can't beat the breakfast unbelievable so good always when can stop off here such good value for money

One guy not very welcoming or polite. Michael and girl behind the bar were great. Chairs could do with repair and cleaning. Male toilets were discusting! Urinals full of wee and had been overflowing; wee on floor! Taps on sinks faulty; one wouldn't work, turned one on the right on, it dribbled and the tap on the left turned itself on??? Had a Mushroom and ale pie. It looked great until I cut into it and it went flat! There was only about 1/2 inch of contents; the crust was about 2 inches high. I only got about 7 chips too others with the same meal had about 15 to 20 chips. Not a brilliant visit! Couldn't recommend the place unless refurbished!

Needs refurbishment grubby and damaged chairs decor shabby but not chic. Food ok for pub chain fayre. Service ok but not all staff very helpful.

Ok so the home truth about my first and last visit to this place, ordered an 11 oz rump steak to be told there was none. Had an 8oz which was supposed to be cooked medium, came as medium rare. This was tough as leather to chew and wasted, thank god I didn't get an 21oz. So no stars for food chef needs to up his game on cooking a steak. Service was not great it was serving the regulars and visitors left waiting even though was there before others. There was a lot of clientel but no atmosphere.

Special shoutout to andy the assistant manager, always courteous, always welcoming, very friendly, professional snd throughly enjoy our time every visit, we are regulars

This is an update to the 5 star review I left last year. Unfortunately I've had to downgrade down to a 1 star review thanks to the total rudeness of the older lady manager. There was no please or thank you's when we were seen and she was just very blunt with us when we talked to her. No offer of additional sauces like others offer and no 'enjoy your meal'. It was just 'there we go' and she put the plates down with some force. Definitely not suited for a customer facing role in our opinion. If you don't like your job just quit rather than ruin diners experience. Sorry but the people can make or break a dining experience and sadly today one individual broke it.

Unfortunately we had to return two very tough steak meals Micheal was very apologetic but it has put us off eating here again Also the week before the salmon was almost unedible

Even though the staff was extremely stressed and struggling by the lack of personnel, they did everything they could to help. The food was amazing. My steak was on point. The wings were delicious, and the burger was amazing

It was a delight to be served by Michael, welcoming us into the restaurant. Hubby and I both had a breakfast, Hubby and adult portion, myself a children's one at £2.99! Both meals were excellent quality and value for money. Normally when I order the chips portion it seems badly presented and badly cooked, not my meal. Michael clearly knew his role, clearing our table of our empty plates whilst requiring if we would care to see the desert menu.all in all an excellent meal and service from Michael, 10 out of 10, will definitely return and recommend for a reasonable, value for money meal.

Great food, I had the 11oz Rump Steak and asked if I can swap my chips for sweet potato fries and that was done without any problems at all! Thank you! All dishes was delicious. We also ordered Classis chicken New Yorker & 8oz Smothered Steak Sizzler Great customer service, specially from Michael, nothing is ever to much, he is always happy and smiling. It's one of our favourite places to visit, so will be back again soon. You all do a great job.

Names to numerous to mention but especially Yvonne that looked after our table of 14 also the kitchen staff who must have worked really hard to get the meals out so no one was kept waiting. It’s so good to have such good service with good value will most definitely eat here again. Well done to all and the management who can take pride in the way the staff definitely put the customer at the front of the business.

Nice friendly staff. The best toilet is the disabled the rest are a disgrace leaking urinals which has been like it for about 4 years now.

Very good food, great staff decor very tired but otherwise clean.

Visited at rush hour but cannot complain at the service and how wonderful the staff were. Everyone had smiles for you, apologised for wait times (not that it was necessary but it was appreciated) and made a point of checking in on you lots. Great value for money, big portions, nice choice of food and drink. Only issue was the toilets, but when it’s so busy it must be hard to keep on top of and broken taps aren’t a quick fix I’m sure! We came with a baby and young child, and will definitely return.

Firstly, a lovely 8oz rump meal 10/10! Fully booked on a Monday but only one person on the bar taking meal and drink orders! I even had to join the long queue 15 minutes later just to get another drink! I don't care what day of week it is, if you're fully booked you need more bar staff! As usual, sticky tables and menus 🙄

Had a lovely meal here this evening with family, there was a bit of a wait for food as it was very busy but we were fine with that as we had children that wanted to play on the play equipment and burn off some energy, the bar staff were lovely and Michael who waited on our table was fantastic, such a lovely man and nothing was too much trouble for him. Will definitely return when we come back to the area

A Hungry Horse Pub.... Every day has its own Bargain.... One of my Favourites is this.... 2 of their Biggest Burgers with Fries (see pic) AND 1 Pint Guinness Zero with 1 Bottle Koppaberg ALL for £21 !!

Been away for a few weeks for work and personal reasons but on returning the staff made me feel like I had never been away. Like a second home.

Restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Food was really yummy and very quick service. We ordered via the app but could still order at the bar too. Euro's were on in one side so we were asked upon arrival whether we wanted to sit near where football was on or the other side or outside. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Ice cream well what can I say....... delicious 😋🤤 will definitely visit again.

Me and my family ordered 4 roast dinners (1 beef and 3 turkey), when we got the food the beef was inedible, the turkeys were dry and tasteless (even though they said it was tender and juicy), the portions were tiny after stating on the menu that they were piled high, was given a very small amount of gravy, with 2 of the plates not even coming with a gravy boat, had to go ask for 2 more and then only recieved one more, the veg was very dry with some of it not actually being undercooked and hard, all round the food was barely hot and tasted like it had been sat on the side for about 5-10 minutes before being served to us, not a single staff member came to ask how our meal was after being there for quite a bit and we were only able to make a complaint after another table was being tended to and complaining also, when it came to speaking to the manager, we were only given a partial refund due to us already having some, since no one came to ask us how our food was and we were starving. will never be coming here again.

Dined here with family. Ordered a chicken and bacon baguette with cheesey chips. Chips came with no cheese. Baguette came with lettuce which wasn’t stated on the menu, and cheap burger cheese melted on top. I wanted to exchange for something else (I had taken a bite to try), was told quiet rudely by an older lady that if I didn’t want lettuce I should have asked, though the menu doesn’t have it inc in the description how was I supposed to know??? I am not a Clairvoyant. Awful customer service Lady on the bar was very pleasant however.

Typical pub food at a reasonable price, plenty of tables and tvs to watch sport on, child friendly and outside play area.

I come here a lot staff are helpful and friendly. Food is of good quality and there is lot of it. Good service from Michael.

Service is always good in the Fieldfare, food is what you pay for. Always come back, which says it all!
