This is a hidden gem, staff are very friendly, food was fantastic, extremely reasonable and a little bit different. Plenty of outside seating.I was worried about parking, but quite a bit of street parking. Will definitely visit again.

While riding the King Alfred Way we made the detour to this fantastic cafe. Service was superb despite us arriving just before their closing time. I had the beef pastrami sandwich and it is probably the best sandwich I have ever had. Well worth the finding out this little gem if you are in the area.

A***** this place is AMAZING I bought 8 sandwiches & salads for my clients and they all absolutely loved the food. The cakes also went down a treat. I had a coffee whilst I waited and the staff are hardworking and very kind - even offered to take my bags to the car :) x il be back again x

Staying in Reading whilst my son went to the festival. He's into healthier food so based on the reviews I decided to set him up for the day with a top quality mid morning breakfast. He was over the moon. He started with the chicken breast fresh salad and followed it up with the spicy chicken wrap. At his request they used seeded sourdough instead of the wrap. Great service and wonderful food.

Shu and Breege are bedrocks of the community, amazingly innovative proprietors, and have become good friends. What was the worst thing about the pandemic? Not being able to have Shu's scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast :-( What was the best bit of the pandemic? Seeing how independents like Fidget and Bob crafted new markets, worked tirelessly to bring joy to people and help, and innovated their offerings. I could spend all day at Fidget and Bob, I just wouldn't want to keep these two and their team up all night. Estate agents of Kennet Island owe them a sizeable commission. My favourites (scrambled eggs aside): Sausage Muffins, Hot Cross Bun Bacon Sandwiches (Easter only folks!), Shu's Char Siu Pork special, an epic club Sandwich and anything you can think of from the sweet trolley - cakes, ice cream, snacks et al. If there is ever a special event, Jazz or a guest pop-up like Makan Malaysia, you must go. Do it for your future self :-)

Having just completed the Reading half marathon we were in search of sustenance and this was just what we needed. Very well looked after by the team at F&B. Good food and great Clifton coffee. A lovely idea of providing free drinks for those who had run the 21.1km and a hot water bottle to keep us warm. Thank you!

I arrived with my family for a sit down lunch and there were only 4 seats in the whole cafe. Reason given “covid”. Ridiculous.

Visited this gem on Saturday by chance prior to train journey to Leeds . Wonderful breakfast wraps , food here is delicious. So much to choose from , all dietary needs addressed here . Staff very friendly and helpful. Chatted to one of the owners as she came to our table . She was aware I was travelling to Leeds and as we were leaving she arrived at the table with a treat for me on the train A wonderful slice of apple cake and 2 brownie slices for my daughter and her partner , such a kind gesture. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness. It is definitely a place to visit and we will be back to sample some other dishes .

Had the breakfast wrap and the breakfast muffin. We both enjoyed it, really tasty food cooked very well. They also sell some lovely products

I don't think I could have survived working from home and all the associated changes without this place. The coffee is really good, the food is so tasty and the service simply could not be beaten. They are always friendly, genuine and pay attention to the small things. All dietary requirements are catered for! As well as normal coffee shop fare they sell local beers and honeys too :) If you are in the area then I can't recommend you visiting this independent place strongly enough! Thanks a million for everything!

Wow! Was not expecting this little place to be so good. Possibly the friendliest welcome I’ve ever had at a cafe! Wonderful take out breakfast, best bacon roll I’ve ever had too! Loads of local and artisan foodie bits to buy as well, like a mini deli! If you’re in the area then do not miss this place.

What a little gem! I’d taken my partner to have an op at circle hospital - wanted a coffee and spot of lunch while I was waiting for him to come out…. Found this place just around the corner - a 2 min walk away. Honestly the best cappuccino I think I’ve had! And the panini - was out of this world!! I can highly recommend the ‘Frank n Furter’ it was delicious! It’s super well organised and clear on the covid precautions - best set up I’ve seen. The staff were polite friendly and efficient. It’s clean and well presented. I can’t praise it enough! Get involved!!!

Wonderfully friendly service and delicious food and drinks. Sunshine and eating outside was a bonus. It’s great to be back, will be returning soon. It’s a bit hidden away being out of town but we’ll worth a visit.

I love this place. Me and my daughter pop in most Saturdays for a coffee and a piece of their banana cake. I love that this is an independent. So much better than the chain coffee shops.

I came here upon a recommendation from a food blog- made this place sound highly desirable to visit. It’s fine, perfectly nice cafe, spacious inside stocked with lots of items from local businesses which I liked. The staff were not especially warm and friendly, a bit reserved but broadly fine. The food was...ok. I had a veggie sausage sandwich with egg. It was quite bland, no seasoning and on really average sliced bread. For £5/6 I would like a decent bap and not just the basic hovis you have at home. I also bought a cupcake to have too, but didn’t notice it was vegan- I later saw on social media they were advertising vegan cupcakes which explained it. It was disgusting, why anyone would want to eat an item that has a huge stack of sweetened vegan Margarine on top is totally beyond me. Tasted like someone’s science homework!

La camarera accedió de inmediato y nos cambiaron.Más tarde, durante nuestra comida, otro miembro del personal vino a la zona de asientos y afirmó en voz alta a un segundo grupo de clientes que habíamos tomado su mesa, que habíamos intercambiado mesas sin permiso.Este comportamiento fue increíblemente grosero y ofensivo. Came here 3 days in a row for lunch whilst on a training course. The food is amazing and the service excellent. Would certainly recommend!

All the food is great. Never had a bad meal there. Good tea and coffee. Great selection of local beer. Good wine selection

The service is fast, freshly made pastries, you also get several sauces for free, even things like nutella, jams or peanut butter!!

Just one road into this community of flats, hotel and businesses. I went early and parking was easy, but couldn’t see many spaces for visitors. Food was excellent: smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and good bread. Super coffee too. Customer service was first rate. Will revisit soon, possibly on my mobility scooter.

Looking for vegetarian brunch and found this curtesy of trip advisor. Menu when I was there was limited but very tasty toasted sandwich, lovely cake and best cup of tea in a cafe for long time. Would happily revisit and hopefully menu just a bit wider.

Totally delicious brunch carefully prepared - too yummy!!The care and quality taken along with customer service make this a great meeting place with friends or to hang out morning, afternoon and in evenings there is often live music.Highly recommend it. The owners are friendly and deliver lovely customer experience.

Excellent cafe experience hidden away off the A33 on Kennet Island Plaza. Well worth seeking out free parking close to square. Eclectic menu excellent noodle soups.

Arrived early for a competition. Looked online for a local cafe. Discovered this gem. Fab tea. Great menu. Friendly staff. Clean. What more could you ask

visited this place few times, Such a lovely ladies works there, very welcoming and friendly and deals with each customers as a special guest.. Plus as a coffee lover; I find they have the best taste of coffee drinks. Advise you to give it a visit then you judge it yourself :)

I cannot believe that I have lived in Reading this long and never been to Fidget & Bob. Today was my first visit but it definitely won’t be the last. The coffee was delicious. I had scrambled eggs and they were so creamy and filling. The price was so reasonable and the service was excellent. Really friendly staff and if was lovely seeing them go the extra mile for their customers. I will definitely be coming back to try some of the dinner options.

Fidget and Bob is a quirky little cafe. But that's hardly surprising, because Kennet Island is a funny little estate.

This is a lovely little cafe in Kennet Island. All food is cooked to order with high quality ingredients. There are plenty of veggie and vegan options. Be prepared to take a little time. Your patience will be rewarded.

We ate dinner and brunch at F&B.; Both times it was really great. The food was fresh, tasty and excellent value. Pizzas were lovely and well made neapolitan style, and brunch was delicious. They have a great selection of unusual local beers, and some nice wines by the carafe.

Recently visited twice on weekend away in Reading, could not fault, excellent food/service, far superior to nearby Hilton.

Staff are superb, food is freshly made and very tasty and the coffee is the best I’ve ever had....Just wish they opened earlier so I could grab one on my way to work!

We went here for Mother's Day as I wanted somewhere we could relax as a family and we were pleasantly surprised. The owners are friendly and welcoming, there was no rush, we all found something we wanted to eat and quality ingredients are used, everything is fresh . If you're looking for a bite to eat after a shop at the retail parks or just don't fancy cooking try Fidget and Bob. We'll be back!

I’ve visited a couple of time for lunch and always excellent. The staff are friendly, willing and happy to accommodate changes to food. We’ve had various sandwiches which are always well made, good quality filling. Coffee has always been beautifully made. Cakes are brilliant and must try.

The breakfast wrap, pepperoni pannini and green juice are delicious. Tried on two occasions. The staff are brilliant and very tuned to customer preference and satisfaction. They are very warm and friendly.

The girls always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome. Their breakfast are wholesome and a great range on offer. The lunches and evening meals are really tasty - and all prepared in-house. A real jem to KI.

Friendly staff upon arrival, make you feel welcomed and at home. Child friendly too, and there are colouring pencils and pictures for the kids to entertain. They will even pin up the drawings on their wall, which is a nice touch.

Had a meeting in Reading, so left very early to drop in here for breakfast as it was nearby. Yes you can park on the street but from what I could see there were few places. I was lucky but you may not be.

I am very lucky to have this lovely cafe on my doorstep. Friendly, reasonably priced, nice drinks and delicious freshly-made food.

Run out of food. Will not start evening service early. Waste of a visit. Disappointed. Needs to be flexible.

Staying at the Hilton Reading (again) and completely bored of their never changing Menu when I stumbled up on this place only a 2 minute walk away

2 hours free parking outside the front. Huge choice of food throughout the day. Breakfast wraps were amazing. Brioche french toast delicious. Noodle pots gorgeous. Great selection of tea and coffee. They also do events such as wine tasting. Will definitely be back.

What an excellent and different experience. Very friendly staff, great service and superb home cooked style and fresh food. A small place (only 6 or 7 tables) but a beauty. Looking forward to come back soon.

Took a chance on this place instead of getting a takeaway for date night.

1st visit today we’ll definitely visit again when we are next in the area. Relaxed atmosphere offering a menu with a twist. We loved the Noodle Pots - in our party of 5 we tried all the flavours! Sandwiches made to order crammed with tasty ingredients. We had the spiced chicken wrap special and a chicken salad sandwich. Really good coffee and cakes for those with a sweet tooth (again we tried these too!). The whole menu is very reasonably priced and the staff were lovely. Definitely worth a visit if need somewhere out of the city centre to re-fuel!

Me, my bf and our little dog have visited Fidget & Bob several times now. We first discovered their fresh pot noodles - delicious! I’ve also tried their panini and ice coffee. Yum! We will be back many more times :-)

We were staying at the local Hilton hotel for the Reading Festival, found this on trip advisor and thought we would give it a go. We ended up visiting 4 times over the weekend, breakfast x 2, lunch and dinner. The food was great, freshly prepared homemade and reasonably priced. Lovely teas, coffees and a selection of alcoholic drinks too. Kennnet island is so lucky to have such a wonderful place on there doorstep. The staff very hardworking,friendly and had a great rapport with the locals, if I lived there too it’s a place I would certainly visit on a regular basis. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Just off the A33 in Kennet Island this family run cafe serves fresh, tasty wholesome food. We went for breakfast and although parking is tight it was worth driving around to find a nearby spot. Coffee was fresh, the scrambled egg was beautifully cooked and topped off with a large portion of tasty fresh mushrooms. Nothing to fault here at all. Well done and thank you

A nice, friendly cafe with affordable prices. This cafe is super convenient if you are staying in Hilton Reading. It is also right across from the “Central Piazza” bus stop.

This is a small coffee shop open for breakfast all days except Mondays, with standard fare (e.g. egg on toast) at reasonable prices.

Lovely independent Cafe in Kennet Island central Piazza run by the two friendly owners - both great to chat to and offers a warm friendly service.

Ordered a chicken rice noodle, the amount of meat inside is sufficiant. Very delicious with Laoganma chilli sauce. Kind service.

If you are looking for soulful food in Reading, this is the place. It is walking distance from Hilton, Reading and it is a hidden gem. Food is great and inexpensive. It also has free WiFi. Highly recommend it.

Excellent alternative for a working space or a quick takeaway. Independent cafe with a friendly atmosphere! Noodles were very fresh, healthy and delicious. All their food and drinks are sourced through local community.

Can not recommended this place enough. The owners are absolutely fabulous. Building a great relationship with us, remembering our names, knowing what we like to drink, it really is the small things. However it’s not just their fantastic service, the food is incredible, we often eat here and have always found it to be food that’s made absolutely delicious! The fresh pot noodles are just out of this world! I wish them both the best of luck and sincerely hope the community continue support this local business!

Living on the Kennet Island Development, Fidget and Bob is a natural choice only a short walk away. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the menu, though simple, is really tasty and fairly priced.

I visited recently during a 1 night stay at a nearby hotel, there weren’t many reviews and I didn’t know what to expect but so glad to have tried F&B.; The place is simple but clean and well looked after, our hosts were brilliant with my daughter (5) and the food was really tasty, after ordering the spicy pizza flatbread I was also offered a delicious spicy condiment- I’d guess a sambal of some sort but it was stunning. Whilst I was there we saw families, couples, groups and a post-Football visit from locals- all were looked after with great attention and minimum fuss. Best of luck to the co-owners, a brilliant little venture that deserves to succeed. Thanks!

Visited here having noticed some local advertising. Regularly stay in the Hilton round the corner and as you might expect with multiple stays, I have got a little bored of the menu so tried this for a change.

Me and my Husband I’ve it here on s Tuesday they do a trivia night great food and very welcoming when ordering u get told we’re all produce came from which is nice as you don’t get there anywhere else and it doesn’t feel forced. It’s done through passion of food which is great

After being disappointed with the previous owner's use of the space, Fidget & Bob seem to have nailed the required vibe of the area! Friendly service, good food/coffee and relaxed atmosphere. The staff even brought us free popcorn on one of our visits! We look forward to seeing this business and its menu grow over the coming years

A great new addition to the area. I use this now as my local coffee place when at work. The team are always welcoming and the coffee is great. Just what was needed and just as expected, from an independent cafe.

Got to hear of Fidget & Bob through Twitter, popped along with a friend to try out their coffee, so pleased we did, the Roast of the Coffee is one of the best I've tasted. Very friendly proprietors and service is on point.

We called in yesterday for a snack and a break from driving. We had a lovely welcome and the food was very nice - scrambled egg to die for! The café is bright and airy with a pleasant relaxed feel. They sell a nice range of beers and wines alongside the teas and coffees! I wish we lived more locally as we would certainly be regulars.....
