Ffenrodd Sizzler in Swansea

Was looking at the menu and deciding whether to eat here or not as long wait times on food. I wanted to warm my sons food up as he is 9 months old and obviously cannot eat the food served here yet. Asked at the bar if I could warm it up and he said he would check. Could hear one of the chefs loudly and abruptly saying NOPE! No question of what he was heating just as blunt as that. Now if I was asking to heat my own food I’d completely understand but a 9 month old baby? Wrong. We obviously decided to not eat there then for the rude service but then as we had walked there my child had to wait another hour before he could eat as we had to walk back home before I could feed him. It’s absolutely disgusting! As someone who works for the company also I know that you can heat baby food when it’s in sealed packaging which it was.

Great food and welcoming staff, would definitely recommend for a meal out with your family or mates!

This is our Third visit in a period of six weeks. On each occasion the food has been cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Some of these other reviewers must be in the wrong plac Visited tonite six had fish and chips two had gammon and chips plenty of it quick efficient service and beautifully presented by friendly helpful staff food served very hot no complaints place was very busy but the staff worked fast and efficient with a smile Pricescreadonable

The fish was out of stock sadly so had gammon. Reasonably priced, good service, nice food but very noisy as there were lots of children.

We are returning customers. Ordered steak mac n cheese today and it was beautiful. Great quality food for reasonable prices. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Will always return. Thank you.

Absoulutely disgusted with service never go there again asked to download app and give the server a shout if we had any problems we had difficulty with signal and tried for nearly half hour going through the app. We called the server and explained we couldnt get the app to log our meals etc he then went on to basically doubt the fact we were having issues and making us feel thick he got really rude when we were trying to tell him just take our order manually this isnt the first incident of this kind thats happened here i know of others with similar problems what if an elderly couple who dont have android phones or arent good on ordering through apps would they be treated in this way???? this guy who served us was i think the manager i didnt take his name but he was really rude and must be costing the retaurant a lot of money due to his very unprofessiinalism the reataurant had about 4 tables with people eating so they werent busy he was just to lazy to help us STAY AWAY

Well done Fendrod, meal was lovely, and cooked very well. Nice to see new things on menu and reasonably priced. Was very busy when we were there, great atmosphere too. Staff very helpful. My only disappointment was the ladies toilets, tissues everywhere all over floor in sinks, floor sticky not good at all. Other than that, well done to the chef and staff 😁 See you soon x

On arrival the place was busy, tables were full atmosphere was good. Ordered my food which was steak and pepper sauce , the steak was ok medium rare just as I asked but then the pepper sauce was complete water. No flavour obviously I’m assuming they were running low and wanted it to last a little longer! I approached the counter a lady I think may be manager and asked for a new one as this was complete water and not very flavoursome she told me it is what it is, they are all the same I can’t have a new one but she can do a refund. Never have someone working in the restaurant industry been so rude! Disgusting and I most certainly won’t be returning anytime soon!

We sat at an uncleared table which the manager cleared quite quickly prior to the arrival of the rest of our party. On each table was a locally printed "Special Dish Of The Day" Chicken pie and chips for £6.49. About 15 mins later we tried placing our order with the same manager who then informs us that there is no chicken breast and quickly follows it up with the fact that we would not be allowed to have a substitute or discount for the missing chicken. Needless to say that all five orders included chicken. Steak & Chicken Classic mixed grill Mega mixed grill Piri piri chicken Child's chicken wrap. When asked if any missing chicken could be replaced with an alternative like breaded or battered chicken he confirmed "No". Please keep in mind that this manager cleared our table and let us spend 15 - 20 mins choosing from the menu and not once did he have the forethought to inform us. Incidentally the restaurant only had about 20 per cent of its tables occupied. We left - spent £65 with a competitor and have found a new restaurant to frequent.

Having read a lot of bad reviews about this place I really wasn't expecting much, but what a surprise. My meal was excellent, the staff were lovely, and we didn't have to wait long even although the place was quite busy. Also not expensive. I'd 100% recommend this place.

Close to Mercure Hotel, a little run down, but service was good, the food was satisfactory and staff friendly. The Ffenrodd Sizzler, is what it is but cheap and cheerful on our visit.

I've been to many sizzling pubs for a meal. But this one let me down. Food was bland. Very small potions and took ages to arrive.

I can not express how bad my steak was presentation itself was disgusting half a green tomatoe no onions as stated and the so called flat mushroom was the size of a sprout and raw and the piece de resistance the steak well I really don't know how to describe it Well gristle on a plate sums it up .as you can imagine I Will not be returning .

My husband had scampi and steak which was pathetic. There was hardly anything on the plate. I had a mixed grill but their standards are not very good. The chips also were not cooked very well. When the waitress collected our plates she asked was everything OK and I told her that my husbands meal was pathetic she could not be bothered to answer us. It is no wonder they give children cheap meals cos that is the only way that they will get anybody through the door.

although the food was ok it was all average pub food, no real ale on offer, had to drink lager, not very busy which should have given us a clue.

Hemos estado un par de veces, ofrece una buena relación calidad-precio, y a pesar de estar bastante exigente en calidad ha sido decente teniendo en cuenta la relación calidad-precio. En esta ocasión llegamos a las 11:30 y nos dijeron que el desayuno se sirve hasta las 12:00 y luego comidas después de las 12. Me esperaba para almorzar temprano pero nos sentamos y más tarde la anfitriona llegó y nos dijo que le dijo el chef sirven comida si queríamos ahora.Sin embargo, nos luego tentados por el desayuno caliente y sonidos muy buena relación calidad-precio. Cuando llegamos estaba chispas, y estaba tan caliente me quemé mi lengua. Los potaoes eran tranquilas horrible y me pareció que el plato bastante seco.Sin embargo, aunque no estoy convencido de su desayuno todavía volvería para sus comidas que son de buena calidad para el precio, por lo menos en las pocas ocasiones en que he visitado.

A nice pub good food good prices always people in and out,a lovely chicken breast,steak,tables always cleared, nice staff,nice choice of menu, very good service,will go again

Fui allí con mis amigos y pedimos el curry crudite, había 3 personas en el pub pero todavía esperamos media hora para nuestra comida. Cuando mi curry venía hacía mucho frío, me llevó a la barra y me dijeron que el camarero que luego me dijeron que el chef y me ignoraron hizo a la cocina y me dijeron que "calentar, luego". que volvimos en plata sirve mi curry original y arroz original mezclados y calentado con arroz extra a la Bowl. Absolutamente repugnante. Nunca más.

Mi pareja y yo visitamos esta Sizzler en un jueves por la noche. No habíamos estado en el Ffenrodd durante muchos años, y nosotros no vamos a volver. Pedí la parrillada mixta clásico (lo que puede equivocarse con una barbacoa mixta?) y mi compañero ordenados el pollo y carne combo. Tuvimos que esperar casi una hora para la comida para llegar y para ser sincero he tenido mejor bistec de valor Tesco variedad!! Esto era grisly y sin sabor y vergonzoso hecha. Tanto la pechuga de pollo estaba gomosa y la mina puede sin los champiñones de tomate o como se decía en el menú. El servicio era bueno, el personal parecía estar más interesado en sus conversaciones que sirve con nosotros. No hace falta decir que nos pareció muy caro y nunca volveremos. Afortunadamente Swansea tiene un montón de otros muy buenos sitios para comer, así que la Ffenrodd no te lo puedes perder.

Went here for a quiet on new years eve because every else was full. it was really quiet in there but still had a great atmosphere. service was great and food was of a good standard.

Me,my partner and my daughter tried this place as a one off due to our usual(the dylan thomas) being very busy and what a big mistake it was. Turned up too a shabby looking run dwn pub bt we brushed this aside coz we knew it was a sizzler. Regretfully went in and ordered a sirloin steak,an ultimate burger and a childs portion of chicken nuggets and chips. Waited a stupid length of time for it to come considerin it was empty.my meal and my partners was nothin like described,missin things and was not cooked to order.my 8 yr old daughter gave up on her food after bitin in to nuggets that were like stone,i couldn bite them eitha!!the steak was 90% fat. The service was terrible. Told them about it and they walked off and chatted amongst themselves lookin over and givin funny looks. WAY OVER PRICED FOR THE S**T THERE SELLING!! ABSOLUTE CRAP!! WILL NEVER RETURN!!

We went to the fendrod a month ago and didn't enjoy our meal and the company asked us if we would give them another chance.well I think everyone deserves a second chance so today we went down again my husband ordered fish chips and mushy peas an I had a rack of ribs with chips corn on the cob and onion rings. I can only say I don't know what went wrong a month ago because today it was cooked to perfection. The meat fell right off the bones and chips were hot. A very nice meal was had by both of us. The staff were attentive but not suffocating so I am glad I got the chance to try it again. Will go more often now. Well done the fendrod. .

My husband and I went to the Fendrod on the first of July to celebrate is birthday. It was empty when we got there and we ordered premier Gammon and a chicken and ribs combo. It took them nearly 1 hour to serve us and the gammon was just ok and the eggs ok. My chicken tasted of absolutely NOTHING and my ribs were so burnt that the sauce was all dried up. All the chips were cold on the inside . I have since been quite poorly .There was another couple complaining behind us bitterly. so we just left. This is not on to serve food like this. I have worked in catering all my life and am appalled with it. I did email the company and have heard absolutely NOTHING. Needless to say I will not be frequenting this establishment again.
