Ferndale Scoops and Smile in Rhondda Cynon Taf

A point, - This is NOT fast food, and from my 2 visits I find it is most wholesome. The 1/4 lb cheeseburger alone was like a full dinner. Or am I getting older? My partners taylor- made breakfast did not look a lot, like in most cafes, but was also excellent quality and more than filling the gap. This tells me that time and care make the best meals, and I do not mind waiting that bit extra for food made to order and not last night. The staff seem more than helpful and very welcoming, something important to us older folks perhaps. Use again? Just wait till next week. Recommended.

We visited today for a breakfast. I had cheese and beans on toast and the cheese didn’t even melt the beans were that luke warm!! My partner had the Barrie breakfast and in his own word “Barrie would be disappointed “ everything was badly cooked and food was so pale plate swimming in water or grease! He did say the friedbread was nice though. And to top it off he had to listen to all the staff on shift talk so badly about another staff member all they did was bitch and talk about them. Very poor and will now be returning!

Perfect family restaurant, family ran and all staff so friendly. Spotlessly clean, fab reasonably priced food, then there’s the homemade, on the premises ice-cream ❤️

I've had a breakfast here 3 times so far. The food is really nicely cooked, well presented and most importantly it's very tasty. The service is efficient and friendly. Very enjoyable. I will be a regular customer.

I had chicken strips with sweet chilli dip and chips, deliciously home made, also a chocolate milkshake to die for. Breakfast also delicious. Friendly, clean and affordable a very pleasant change, wish they’d open up in Aberdare 👍👍

I have visited this place for a lunch with my MotorBike Friends..... the food was really delicious and low priced....we have enjoyed our lunch for sure....Owner and staff are extreme friendly.,, This is a place were you feel very comfortable...For sure we will visit this place again during our next motortrip.

Diner-type feel to the place. Will definitely be back - thoughtful staff member made a hot chocolate for my son (age 3) at a cooler temperature without me even having to ask. Had a good burger, with free kids burger (great offer!). I imagine in the nicer weather it would be good to sit out back in their small yard.

In the area and stopped for ice cream but it looked so good we had breakfast too. Great value, fresh ingredients, pretty much perfect breakfast, piping hot and well presented.

The customer service and the food was absolutely fantastic, I cleared my plate! Amazing guys I will definitely be coming back here again for food, and also bring the family Such a great atmosphere to be in for homley and welcoming

Went for lunch with my partner and everything was amazing. The service, the decor, the cleanliness, the food, the speed EVERYTHING!!! There isn't a single thing I'd change. Highly recomend popping in

It’s really ironic that this place is called Scoops and Smiles when I didn’t see one member of staff smile at a customer once during my stay. A lady who I presume is the owner was the only person to thank people as they were leaving. When I went to the counter to order I was blanked by a young girl, who was obviously making coffee for someone else, she could have said that someone would be happy to serve me or say she wouldn’t be long. Anyway I just wanted poached eggs on toast and when ordered with a cup of tea, both came really quickly and I enjoyed. But I am not sure why this came with tomatoes and cucumber!? There is a vast menu and I might be tempted to come back again as overall I did enjoy. The customer service let it down to be honest.

Excellent food and staff is so lovely. So much choice you’re spoilt for options both sweet and savoury. Absolutely stunning and super clean, with plenty of seating outside and inside! Deffos recommend you visiting.

I had the cajan chicken burger. And it was beautiful! I love spicy foods and this was spicy! Always great service with the girls. Top restarant highly recommend 👌

Contemporary environment, good food in huge portions value for money and most important the service is always excellent and the staff friendly Can’t fault anything! And this is coming from a Greek lady used to 5* service

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, we picked up and it was ready within 20 minutes which is great. Nice burger and scrumptious dessert. The tuna panini was also highly rated. Would definitely recommend to a friend, 10/10.

Good breakfast, not the largest i've ever eaten for £6 but it was tasty & quickly served. It's clean in there with plenty of seating. A ,ot od items on the menu additional to breakfast the likes of burgers/chips & ice creams with waffles or...

The cooked breakfast was fantastic and very reasonably priced. My kids had pancakes with chocolate, banana biscuit crumbs. They were really good. A great place to take your family. We will be back without a doubt.

This is our first visit to Ferndale and the intention of our trip was to go the lake at Darran Park to feed the ducks. Since the Covid situation we have been a mission to make the most of what South Wales has to offer....

Lovely food at great prices. They make a lovely omelette. Just reopened again after lockdown. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Quite a big choice on the menu too. And lovely friendly staff too. You will need cash to pay.

We stopped here for a coffee stop but all ended up having food as well. All pleased with our choices and the staff were very friendly, especially the owner. Will definitely be calling here again.
