I come to London annually on business at this time of year and am compelled to visit Fei Er every time I visit Westminster. The combination of quite excellent, authentic quisine with incredibly good value for money, make it a must. I’m currently half way through my meal right now and I’m thoroughly enjoying it!!!

They make the best handmade dumplings in London, very authentic and truly delicious. I can only recommend going and trying it out!

LIARS AND SCAMMERS!!! The gyozas are not handmade as I saw the girl bringing a bag of frozen gyozas from the back to the front kitchen!! Very disappointed and super average food!! Had a bug in my beer When I asked the waiter for a straw he gave it from his pocket and “cleaned it” on his dirty apron Interior is dirty, holes in the ceiling! When I wrote review on their Tik tok account (where they advertised their food is homemade), they blocked me so people can’t see my comments!! Trust me don’t go unless you like to be scammed!

We found this restaurant by accident. It looked interesting and so it proved to be. Very friendly staff and excellent service. We loved the food, great flavours, you won’t be disappointed.

We came here because of clever and amusing TikTok videos - a superb marketing vehicle for them And judging from some comments from other patrons, they were doing the same thing It was only because we happened to be in London today and fancied something/somewhere different But we’re glad we made the effort A short walk from Victoria tube station, it’s fairly hidden down a small road of other various hospitality outlets We were seated on the ground level, where it was rather cozy I presume there is more seating downstairs Decor is akin to a cafe than a restaurant, but with a variety of traditional Chinese percussion instruments lining the walls There’s also a clear provision to buy sauces and foodstuff as well as being able to watch the home made dumplings being prepared Service was OK, the manager made sure we were looked after and everyone was profusely apologetic when their payment system went down temporarily - wasn’t even an issue for us Now, onto the food - the dim sum is decent, not the best we’ve ever had And the dumplings that we selected were OK too - I was hoping for more, but my benchmark is Din Tai Fung, so maybe I’m a bit unfair However, their Char Kway Teow was outstanding - they truly nailed the taste And trust me, not many Chinese restaurants succeed in doing so, those based in the UK anyways Would we return? Yes

On arrival was taken down some dark stairs to a separate area, not appealing. Tried to order an alcoholic drink to be told they did not have a licence! Was out with 8 work colleagues so alcohol was a must. Also told we could not go buy our own. Decided to order food, eat and get out quickly however menu was very confusing and chap did not return to take any drink order. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. No effort to advise us of drinks licence before arrival and gave us the drinks menu on arrival! No effort to apologise. Very disappointing.

Let me clear, the restaurant does not look like the pictures you see here, there is shop and there is a restaurant attached to it. Even the kitchen is not separated and feels very unprofessional to see the way food is cooked. If you have been to ping pong you will not find these dimsums good at all. the only saving grace are the lovely people that serve you and cook who are courteous and decent. 29 pounds is not worth it given the ambience is just pathetic. DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PING PONG QUALITY DIMSUMS.

Disappointed at first as I was looking for a Korean restaurant for my son and, despite the trip advisor filter, it isn’t!!! But the disappointment didn’t last long at all! Lovely, authentic, spicy. The salt and pepper squid was lovely. The ma po tofu a numbingly flavoursome explosion of taste. Not for people who can’t handle moderate spice. But if you can, you’ll be delighted. Lovely homemade kimchi, so there was a little Korean. Some great fried chicken too. Very good service. I’ll be back!!

I was planning to catch up with a friend in London and after doing some research I decided to make a reservation at this restaurant near Westminster station. On arrival we were promptly shown to our table and were given our menus. Also they had very good vegetarian choice as my friend who was with me did not eat meat. The lady who took our order was very prompt and professional and even made recommendations on what to order. The only thing that was a bit annoying was regarding ordering our food we both ordered a side and a main. But for some reason my friends side came before their main, and my main came before my side dish. It didn't affect my experience but I found it quite confusing. But overall the food was very nice and would be happy to eat here again.

Great authentic Chinese food at last !! Amazing tastes and a great variety of dim sum Great suggestions from the chef and a very kind service from the waiter Loved seeing dim sun being freshly made in a separate room and not the frozen staff so often served Will be back for sure !!

Partly located unground with an authentic appeal, this place has a true Asian vibe and worth a couples meal. Vast menu with care and passion in each of the dishes with a unique feel. Enticing wine list, variety of dishes for all pallets and attentive service.

This place apparently used to have a dim sum buffet which sounds quite amazing. No longer though. The dim sum we got was good as was the other food but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

The taste of the food was nice but two of us ordered chicken fried rice and there were almost no chicken in the dish at all. We found a few tiny pieces, so essentially we paid 9 pounds for fried rice with peas. Not acceptable.

We chose the place based on TripAdvisor’s reviews and it’s a good thing we did so. Everything we ordered was tasty. The duck, the fried rice, noodles, spring rolls were heavenly! Good value for money as well. The wine list wasn’t too bad either..

My family stopped by for lunch in between seeing the sights at Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey, and were delighted by the food! The shrimp dumplings were the best I’ve had anywhere including Taiwan, and the roast duck soup noodles were outstanding. With authentic, tasty food and friendly service, this restaurant is worth a visit!

Highly disappointed with our evening. It is a cold evening and therefore we were wearing big coats and we had to ask staff if there was a cloakroom. Not a great start already! Following this, the food was brought out so quickly and therefore not allowing us to enjoy each dish. In addition, after rushing our starters, mains and dessert, we were told we had to quickly give up the table for the next guests who weren't anywhere to be seen. They couldn't be quick enough to send us on our way! Given the price, you would think service would be on point but it was an utter disappointment. This was a dinner to celebrate a birthday and they did not make it special at all. Shall not be recommending nor shall I ever be going back.

UPDATE: We became regulars here until 2020 and were very sad indeed to dscover that it has closed its doors. A real loss to anyone who enjoys first quality Japanese food! This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in London but it is so authentic that you need a guide. The sushi is good, the usual menu items are very good but if you really want to eat well you need to choose from the blackboard with the day's dishes chalked up in Japanese. Marinated squid guts and tuna cheek are delicious and so genuine: you could be in a very good local restaurant in Japan. These kind of dishes are not found in most London Japanese restaurants and this is why Sakana Tei is special. Grab a Japanese or literate Chinese friend and treat them in return for choosing the delicious surprises you would normally miss!
