Me & my boyfriend went on 7th August for the first time using the pay £25 get £50 to spend via Manchester confidential. We didn’t book in advance. Waitress told us one sauce wasn’t available but chef will substitute and told us all drink deals on arrival. I had nachos to start, they were a generous portion. The guacamole was really tasty and not over powering, nice mix of sauces and flavours. My boyfriend had chicken wings which he loved. For mains I had the Chicken Crisper Tortilla which was honestly the nicest wrap I have ever had. The chicken was perfect and crisp, there is bbq sauce and I’m guessing some form of mayo in the wrap ( I could be wrong) but either way the flavours went great and had a good amount of kick/ spice. Wrap came with chips and a little sort of salad side. The other main ordered was the burger with extras bacon and egg added. Which again came with chips. We would give the food 10/10. The place itself was large, I thought well decorated, lots of choices on where to sit. Wish they had the salt, pepper and sauces on the table just annoying having to keep asking for them

We were here for the 50% offer on Wednesday. When we arrived, we felt 'lost'. No one to welcome us or show us where is our table. (We have reserved it few days before. ) It was reasonable busy however there was only one waitress working. Our appetiser took more than 40 mins to be served from the time we place our order, nachos came out warm, naga hot wings which are supposed to be very hot is not hot at all. We think they forget about the naga hot sauce and ribs, meh... It took the runner 3 attempts to serve the food to the correct table, he literally went to almost all other tables which is waiting for food and we have to wave him down and tell him it is our food. I was starving at this point, and the main course was served. Again, my quesadilla was just warm, salad was thrown together without any salad dressing (feels like taken straight out from a mixed salad bag from supermarket). My other half ordered beef churasco and it was overcook and chewy and dry like rubber. (See pictures). I have ask if she want to return the food and she did not want to make a fuss, as it was late, and we are still hungry. We ended up leaving most of the food on the table, went to pay at the bar and leave. Someone, I assumed the manager did apologised for the slow service, however it should not be excuse to serve such a poor food.

We booked a table here for a Wednesday night. When we first arrived at 5 it was quiet but when we were leaving it was busier with lots of people enjoying food and drinks. On Wednesdays cocktails are 2 for £10 and the food is 50% off so we felt like we got a bargain. We had starters - buffalo / BBQ wings, ribs, nachos and a few others I don’t remember the name of. They were all really tasty. I had burrito for my main which was a little disappointing as it had boiled rice in it? They would normally come with Mexican rice so I was a bit confused by this and the boiled rice made it a little bland. The chicken and sauce was lovely tho so I just took most of the rice out and enjoyed the chicken wrap. My boyfriend had gaucho burger and he enjoyed this too. The staff were really lovely and we had a great evening. Would recommend!

Although the food was nice and there are half price offers during the week, the service is abysmal. We came to eat at 7.15pm on a Thursday. Within 15 minutes they suddenly turned the music up to the point it was hard to hear what my friend was saying. We asked politely if there was any chance in lowering the music. The waitress said bluntly, ‘no, it’s just that kind of place.’ We laughed that off as she suggested we move to the little room near the front. We did and said we had a half price food deal. We ordered food and at no point was it mentioned that bar snacks don’t count as food so they won’t be half price but we ordered olives (technically a bar snack on the menu). The food came and was tasty. Unfortunately the waitress kept coming back regularly, taking our food and asking us if we wanted it wrapped up before we had even finished our drinks. Asking us if we wanted another drink before we had finishe half our pints and when we said no thanks, telling us she would bring us the bill. She brought the bill even though we had showed no interest in leaving and the bar was practically empty. I looked and the food was not half price, they’d charged full price for the olives. I questioned this with the waitress, she went to the bar to check and said olives don’t count. I said, why, they are food. She said olives don’t count as food. I said, you eat them, they are food, the offer didn’t advertise restrictions. She said that’s the way it is. She didn’t attempt to apologise for forgetting to mention or for the poor advertising. She said she couldn’t do anything so I paid and she made a comment saying ‘looks like you could spare that pound after all’ whilst handing me my receipt. She then walked off before I could pull her up for her rude manner. She brought back our change shortly, which was less than a £1 and slyly said, ‘sorry it’s not quite your pound’. Again she walked off before we could say anything. Basically what could have been a lovely meal out with a friend was ruined by an extremely rude and careless manner of staff. No wonder the place is dead.

Myself and my partner were looking for somewhere to eat in the Northern Quarter prior to going to a theatre show - we have a couple of discount cards and Favelas was shown on the Taste Card app. I tried to book a table over the phone but there was no reply to I messaged them using Facebook and got an immediate response. I checked about the Taste Card but they informed me that as it was Wednesday then it was 50% off - fabulous! We arrived and were very quickly seated at our table. The place itself has a real South American theme as you would expect. The menu is quite large and varied. My partner ordered a chicken skewer and I went for the steak fajitas - our waitress was a little confused by the menu and didn't seem very familiar with it. We had to explain what we were ordering as she suggested I order a sauce for the fajitas but I pointed out this was related to the item below fajitas on the menu - a little disappointing that the staff wouldn't be very familiar with the menu but we got there. The food arrived and it was excellent. Very well prepared, presented very nicely on the plate and we both thoroughly enjoyed the food. The fajitas are pre-prepared but they are fully loaded and also came with fries. We will definitely return to Favelas - I think for 50% off Wednesday you need to book and mention this.

So we had a table booked, we arrived and the place was closed. There was a note on outside menu to say they had to close this is not what I have problem with. What made me angry was we didn’t get an email or a call to let us know. This situation has left a bad taste in my mouth, so will not be bothering again. Especially as we live no where near.

I ordered online. Super nice food however, I paid for chicken and steak and only got steak. Also had no chips, but had Mac n cheese and tatertots which I never ordered but was happy with either way. But I would have liked my chicken or at least a call to say there was no chicken
