If we’re taking everything into account, I think this place has got to be a contender for the best burger in Cardiff. Sure, you might find a place with a £35 burger that’s MAYBE a little better, but for the price, you’re not going to beat it. Good quality meat, no skimping on the buns, very solid sides, and quick service. It’s all you could want. I’ve seen comparisons made with McDonalds and seen people adamantly disagree, but I think the comparisons are fair, but for good reason. This is obviously a place that has their processes, and these processes ensure consistently, and a quality burger that’s the same each time. Quality wise, they’re ahead of McDonalds, but that doesn’t mean they’ve not taken some of the best of McDs, and left behind the bad. Try the chipotle burger with the dirty fries. You’ll be glad you did 👍🏼

Good messy burger and dirty fries, quick service and not too expensive

Great place if you want to see the sorriest looking burgers that look like beaten troops coming home from war. Fries are also reheated and served looking like aged corpses. Rumour has it that this place isn't doing well financially; let's hope it sees an early demise for sending low quality food out for its customers.

Very disappointed had to wait almost 30 minutes for our food, when other people came in after us and got there's before us, counter staff did not know what they were doing the server tried charging me £12:99 for a cheese burger whitch was smaller than a marshmallow chips were cold and when I complained they just laughed. Get a grip of your staff costumer service a.s.a.p.

Nice place, would be great if there was a better vegetarian(approved) food variety.

Beef burgers are good but chicken not so

Kinda like a combination of Five Guys and McDonald's. Had the Chipotle Smash burger and it was one of the best fast food burgers I've had in years. Far better than McDonald's. Would definitely return.

Love the food here it's cooked to order the fries are always hot and crispy just want you want from fries 🍟🍟 the Mediterranean chipotle sauce is well good!! Marks down on atmosphere as I've only done takeaway so it's not really a plus or a minus for me,I usually go for one of the smashed burgers really good!!

I'll recommend the Classic smashburger, it's so delicious 🤤

The chipotle burger was processed chicken which was a size of a kids burger with a little chipotle sauce on it. They have changed the burger and its disgusting, I thought maybe it was a one off but this was twice now and what a let down it was. Staff are so rude.

Food is nice customer service isn’t great staff don’t really listen. Toilets require a password? And they very stingy with sauces so be careful when asking for an additional sauce

Nice alternative to McDonalds. Beware though, no toilets! So if you have one's or your of a older nature and might need to go, bare in mind!

Friendly and quick service with pretty tasty food for a fast food restaurant. Obviously it’s not the Ritz but it’s not trying to be. Like a nicer version of McDonald’s. The chipotle dip is lush.

Taste is so good but they need to increase quantity & pack in bit better way for take out

I really like this place, I would prefer that it would the same price as it was when it first opened so that's my only gripe with it.

I drove up hoping for Tim Hortons, apparently this is what is there in exchange. They have not disappoint. Good quality food, decent enough portions and ok speed of a service. I came there with son of mine and we both liked the food. Next time we are in Cardiff we be back there.

food tasted okay but the portion sizes are a joke the classic double cheese meal for £6.55 is more like a happy meal i wish i ordered a big mac from McDonald's instead.

I can't say that I get hyped for a lot of the menu but I love the Chipotle smash burger from here, would give it a 5 star if it held together a bit better and didn't get somewhat soggy wrapped up but that won't deter me

They've upped their game with the smash burgers fair play. The only down side is the music.

I think it’s a disgrace to fat twins that they are being compared to McDonald’s, firstly there buns are brioche seeded and fresh. The patty’s are thick and juicy no dryness and great quality of mince. The chips less said about them the better that’s the only thing close to McDonald’s. A lovely little surprise was the wings lovely and crunchy and good quality meat. Was my first time trying fat twins and certainly won’t be the last looking forward to trying again.

Quite a nice place, it's cheap and worth it for the money but the food isn't breathtaking. It's tasty and good if you want a quick meal definitely nowhere close to the best burger I've had

The best burgers BUT the most miserable staff, they seem so angry when your just trying to place a order!! A smile goes a long way.

Ordered a 'Big T' (cold cheeseburger from Mcodnalds) and chilli cheese bites (cold from Burger King) absolute fraudsters. Order elsewhere please I am reporting them for selling other peoples food.

Not upmarket, or gourmet, by any means but that's no bad thing. We each had a decent burger, good cheese fries, and I had a happy teenager who was overjoyed to find Mojito 7up. I didn't notice a downstairs disabled toilet but there is space enough between tables for a powerchair/pushchair. Would return. *update* there is a downstairs disabled toilet. Not radar keyed. The sink is tiny so the floor is frequently quite wet but it is clean. The seat is very loose though.

The burgers are delicious, both chicken and beef amazing. There big T sauce is divine and their chipolet sauce is another level. Bbq chicken wings and mozzarella sticks are a must. Fries are big portions and well seasoned, I don't know why you'd ever go to another well know fast food chain with a large letter M this is around the same price, all cooked fresh and actually fills you up. I'm now thinking about my next trip.

I ring up to order collection and they refused to do so and hungup on me in mid conversation I ring back twice and they didn't answer normally I wouldn't write a review but feel like I have to. Hope No1 else gets this customer service

This place used to be good but it has gone down hill now sadly. The beef patties was dry and tasteless worse than McDonald's but more expensive.

Smash burgers they need to sort it out. Was terrible I watched them cook the patties and they kept adding this weird water like liquid to the burger as was cooking but when the burger came it smelt horrible and was soaking made all the bun wet and the taste was horrible. 2 bites and in the bin! Never again!

Fat twins is by far one of the best “halal McDonald’s” spots. The burgers are cooked perfectly. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Perfect for a quick bite. Definitely recommend!

In other words a halal McDonald’s! There’s good dining space, toilets available too. Food was ok for the price, first time for me and my kids and the food was filling, however the negative would be the review for chicken nuggets as they just tasted awful, there was lots of drinks unavailable for meals too. Service was ok. Unsure if I would go back.

It was alright, nothing too special and was not fulfilling.

Fat twins is ok, don't expect either greatness or mediocrity. Their classic smash burger was very close tastewise to a Big Mac; depending on your likes that may or may not be a good thing. I was however underwhelmed by their chicken wings, even though the coating was crunchy they were severely lacking in flavour. This place to me is a pretty middle of the road burger joint; it has its place but there are better options out there.

Cheap, cheerful and halal, what’s not to love

The food is normal. The customer service is really bad i have waited for my food for 20 mins and it was cold. Staff are rude when i asked about my order and she said that i have to wait

Received the wrong order. Called up, only for them to pin the blame on the delivery driver. Called him up, to then be told Fat Twins were to blame. Only positive is Uber Eats protect against terrible experiences like this - expecting a full refund no thanks to Fat Twins. Dreadful service. Food that came was lukewarm and clearly not fresh. The actual recipients were saved!

Fantastic meal and quality service. I ordered the new smash burgers, absolutely lovely burger full of flavour. Highly recommended the chipotle smash burger. it's quite difficult to find a quality halal burger place in cardiff as BBK(bagel and burger kitchen)have closed down. I'll definitely be returning to fat twins. Thank you

Juicy burgers and drinks love it!

I feel like I have stepped into a delicious time capsule. It's like someone made a film set in the 90s but with modern food standards. Everything is clean and the atmosphere was decidedly plesent. This place sent me directly to nostalgia land. Brilliant food and service.

Front staff i think she is indian staff she is soo rude and so arrogant i don’t like the way she speaks

hit and miss. supposed to be a maccy d equivalent but more expensive and these fat twin burgers are tiny. indian lady manager acts like sauces come out of her paycheck (£20+ meal but only allowed two dips). wings are not fresh.

Good Halal substitute to McDonald's. Make sure you try their Mango soda. Nuggets are perhaps even better than the burgers.

Definitely 5 stars because it’s cheap, it’s clean, it’s quick as wait wasn’t more than 5 mins. What else would you wish for? Staff was welcoming and friendly. Things that I didn’t like were that I couldn’t find a toilet inside and even if there is one there was no sign board for it and my bad that I didn’t ask the staff for it. Secondly, only 3 tomato ketchup sachets were given with 2 big meals which wasn’t enough. Not everybody finds it convenient to get up and ask for ketchup. 5 stars are given for the taste and prices and I would easily subtract 1 star for toilet sign board missing. I hope the management would take notice of it. The rest, lovely. Definitely recommended for satisfactory portion sizes.

The food is average - and it has value for money. But unfortunately the staff are a bit unfriendly- and the place is not a very inviting environment

Burgers are McDonald's like ,nice flavours. Not in 5guys league tho but not as expensive as that either.

I was expecting the food to taste better. The burger is literally small as McDonald’s and it tastes so out dated. The chips did not have enough salt the sauces tasted old and the drink did not taste like the original coke. I wish I could rate this a zero out of five. But I think everyone should just go to Benny’s Chicken near fat twins. I am disappointed. 😔

Great food great service I'm regular customer now

Have given benefit of the doubt previously but not this time. Hardly any sauce therefore kinda dry burger and missing fries. Other things too. Called to say so and told to "wait 2 secs" about 4 times. "Bring it back" when eating at friends place isn't isn't option. Come and get another burger tmrw isn't possible either. After 4 goes guy speaks to manager and then advised "sorry can't do anything unless bring it back to shop". Other burger was nice but spoiled a take out eat in experience (again).

Great value for money and great taste, burgers are bigger than I thought they were and the portion of fries are big too. Also it's like 5 mins from my house so that's a bonus. Would definitely recommend 😋

Great service, fun decor, meals are all cooked fresh to order. Makes a nice change to the usual McDonald's and Burger King. Only downside is that the food didn't resemble the photos at all, being much thinner and flatter. My daughter really liked it.

Pretty much b-tech mcdonalds, if you're willing to spend the extra price just for local convenience. Fries were a bit oversalted. We ordered a double cheeseburger however are fairly certain there was only one patty in the burger.

Tastes like Mcdonalds but this is not plastic like Mcdonalds so its definetly recommended when you crave Mcdonalds.. healthier and HALAL 💃🏻

TAKEAWAY review I'm Belgian and I've been trying forever to find fries/sauces that would come anywhere close to what we have (Belgian Fries, after Covid, go there, try them). Turns out the food is great and they have dips that I couldn't find anywhere but there (their Big T sauce/dip is clearly "andalouse" we have in Belgium, or smth very very very close). It was not too expensive, very tasty and I will clearly order again.

To start with where other places lack the most this joint is the cleanest, its cleanliness is 2nd to none. The food is tasty and the staff are always smiling. I cannot fault it.
