Fat Toni's Pizzeria in Stroud

After receiving the incorrect order, I was told on 3 separate occasions that the manager would contact me with instructions/how to get my money back. As a customer, I listened, silly me. After many deceitful conversations over the phone, my trusting nature was again, abused. I was told that it had been over 24hrs, so they couldn't do anything. Confused, 1 ask why they told me to wait for an email....obviously it was their policy to take advantage of customers To this day, I'm out of pocket by £15. Polite throughout on the phone, I can only imagine their staff laughing at me and this post. As for the food I ordered.....can't comment. As for the food that arrived.......meh.

Delicious and authentic food. Catered for family event with a great selection of food. Tiramisu was also amazing! Very good service, staff were all very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely does not live up to a restaurant experience, it’s somewhere between a takeaway and crèche. It’s ‘great’ if you have children, as there is a large play area at the front of the room. If you would rather not eat in a nursery, then it is absolutely not for you. Really odd vibe, having used Fat Toni’s for takeaways for many years and always getting great pizza, I was really surprised to experience how far they missed the mark when attempting a restaurant experience. There wasn’t really any of the ‘service’ qualities that you’d expect in a restaurant, waiters are dealing with the takeaway side of the business as well as the restaurant side so I can imagine it’s difficult to juggle both at the same time. The wait staff kind of just plonk the food in front of you then that is about it, don’t offer sauces, or check in on you, ask if you want another drink, suggest desserts (if they are available), you have to wave one down to get the bill etc. The pizza is ‘upmarket’ and premium, in quality and price, but the overall experience damages that quality. In summary, avoid if you want lunch in a ‘nice place’

Our large family group had a great evening here and the pizza was top class as usual. Amazing range of delicious pizza toppings and outstanding pasta dishes. Friendly and helpful staff and great service. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

online I found it not at all straight forward? It seemed as if I had to spend a lot of time and extra money in order for the site to register that the delivery charge is free!

Too expensive for quality and quantity you get.

Was a bit hungry so ordered the vegan pizza - 20” the biggest pizza I’ve ever eaten. But wow was it good. Had it for breakfast and lunch the next day. Delicious!

Went for the live music and pizza for £10 on Wednesday. Had a fantastic evening, great pizza, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

I paid £47 for one pizza to be delivered, and it was missing some of the extra toppings I'd paid for. When I phoned and asked for the pizza I'd paid for, I was advised that all they could do was offer 10% off the next order. All I wanted was what I had paid for. You used to be the place to go, but not any more.

I found this restaurant online after looking for a place to eat while staying on Stroud and glad I did. The service was friendly and polite and the menu all looked good. I ordered the The Vegasauras Margherita, Walnuts, Artichokes, Gorgonzola and Pesto and what a tasty pizza. The portion size was really good and was real quality. That with a pint of beer was ideal. Good value overall as well.

Went to the restaurant for the first time this evening. The pizzas were excellent and the staff really friendly and efficient. However, the best thing was the live music, which was amazing!

I've been going here for years and I always come back because it's the best pizza by far, for at least 700 miles until you get to Italy. The staff are always really friendly too :)

Best sun dried tomatoes I’ve ever had! Vegan cheese available, very flexible on making pizzas vegan. Delicious. Also had a lovely cider, good selection.

Unfortunately not what it used to be, when you order for collection 40 minutes ahead when you have an option of under 14 minutes, don't have your customers wait 15 minutes whilst you just put their food in to cook. Many of the toppings were missing, although advertised on the premises not even mentioned on the website. It's a real shame as used to be really good.

Nice pizzeria - I found it less appealing for dining in, it was practical rather than atmospheric, but as I was travelling alone I did not require much. I asked to make my pizzas vegan and they did, lovely pizzas with interesting toppings. I had the vegan Vegesaurus and a vegan garlic bread. Both lovely! The garlic bread was HUGE though, it was more like a pizza. So I was served two pizzas - way too much for just one person. It would have been nice to get a warning, because I was expecting just some slices of baguette with garlic oil. But the taste of both items were very good, I did enjoy it and appreciate that they could make everything vegan without compromising on flavour or presentation.

went to get a pizza having been out for the evening, didnt realise that they closed at 10.They happily made me a yummy pizza although it was quarter past ten no fuss no hassle, such lovely service I can happily recommend

I have ordered takeaway pizza from Fat Toni’s many times. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza base is amazing. I have tried others but always come back. Today I messed up my order and I phoned to say only one pizza had arrived not the two I was expecting. They quickly delivered a second pizza even though it was my mistake. Great service. I will be back.

Always great pizzas, however the online prices are out of date. E.g online for Dante Inferno is £10/£20 dependant on size, however in reality the price is £13.50/£27. Quite a difference.

Had a really lovely family meal this week. My daughters had delicious gluten free pizza bases. The owner/chef put together the most amazing ‘off menu’ salad for me. Will definitely return and highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely experience.

I've had at least 20 pizzas from here in the past 7 years living here, and they used to be the cream of the crop. I've unfortunately just had my last though. Tasteless cheese (not buffalo which it should be at this price) and extremely salty tomato. The restaurant is also extremely dark and overly industrial feeling - metal and concrete - not very welcoming or warm. On the other hand, servers are always an absolute delight no matter what, so theres that. I hate to write a bad review, but considering my experience of the food over time, and the mad prices..

A distinctly average pizza delivered almost an hour late. An outlet trading on its past glory. Such a shame. Will stick to Crust Issues and Velo Pizza in future.

I really don't like giving bad reviews, but the pizza was extremely disappointing. The base was so overdone that it snapped instead of slicing, was burned around the edges badly, and the toppings were soggy. I got a wheat free vegan pizza, I wanted it to be good because it's hard to find pizza without milk or wheat, but it was really hard to eat. For the price especially I regret ordering.

Pizza was meh. It was edible and generally ok, but nothing special. The dough had good flavour, but was flat and too dense, which made it tough to chew through. The tomato base had a good flavour but was a bit sparse. Anchovies, capers and olives all fine... But you can't really go wrong with those! Generally it was just OK. I wanted to be impressed, heard good things about Fat Toni's but in reality was mediocre.

Delivery needs to be better. Last few times the pizza has arrived barely warm. Today the food arrived 45 minutes after the estimated delivery time and the pizza looked rushed It’s a shame because when I’ve been to the restaurant it’s been brilliant

You really dropped the ball tonight. I loved you for the outstanding pizza quality. What was delivered tonight was cold, dry, as if it was taken off display, and 2/5 of your previous quality. Just an average pizza for the Brits that know no difference. No more great crust and toppings. If this is what you are going to be moving forward, better let people know. Total disaster.

Wrong order sent, over 30 minutes late, and JustEat are not replying to give me a refund. We didn’t get a meal that night and it still hasn’t been refunded.

Drove all the way to Stroud the other week for Fat Toni’s pizza and found that it was closed - to our luck, one of chefs who was outside off duty, generously offered to cook us up the fattest pizza I’ve ever eaten (and this is coming from an Italian). Best vegan pizza and best service - whoever the chef was, you’re an angel!!

We were passing through and ate in the restaurant. Ordered a large pizza to share. It was enormous, nice thin crispy base and tasted great. Wine was good. Reasonable prices I thought. Good family place to go.

Pizza arrived in a poor condition not able to eat as was stuck to box also the box was damaged replacement pizza arrived was totally wrong I give up!!

Confusion over order as site didn't make clear the options. First pizza not what was ordered, awful. Manager was rude. Delivery driver literally hammered on our door. Second pizza arrived too late to be eaten with side order.

As a former employee, they have refused to help employees at all during their time of liquidation. Disgusting company and management. Would honestly give no stars or negative if I could.

No record of order on the app and when I turned up to collect I was told it would be 4 mins to cook and the pizza was undercooked, I was told the app shouldn’t have let me order….

Normally a good delivery service, however this time quite disappointed. It has been over an hour and after several unanswered calls the order isn’t here. Would suggest instead ignoring phone calls and on your main site going to “collection only”, answer the phone and keep your customers updated. At least then, we can make alternative arrangements. Will be seeking a refund because of this.

Best darn pizza I've found in the west country so far. The mother said it was the best pizza she had in years. And 20 bloody inches. Mate. So good. We will be back in a hurry. Friendly service and quick too.

Fat Toni’s is going massively down hill. We are frequent customers who have noticed the massive price increases, but with a massive downfall in the quality - particularly the amount of topping. I have also noticed that they turn off the JustEat ordering in the discounted days, Monday and Tuesday, which is like a kick in the teeth to their frequent customers. They think that they are now bigger than their clientele, and that’s a real shame.

The setting is great, huge restaurant, lots of space and nicely set out. But the main thing welcome for, the pizza is very average. The base is overly thick and dense. If you hold a slice it can stay horizontal holding it's own weight. More like an American / Domino's pizza than an Italian Neapolitan pizza (which is floppy, thin, light and stretchy). Which is baffling as the vacuum packed pizza's Fat Toni's made during lockdown that you cooked in your own oven were better.

Birthday treat take out as we had our dog with us. Great choice for both meat/less eaters. Friendly staff and very accommodating too when I asked for fries.(they don't usually do these with takeout as they get cold .) Restaurant was decorated nicely and busy , toilets clean and tidy. Pizzas went down very nicely leaving those spare pieces for morning ! When we're next in Stroud area we'd like to try the restaurant. Didn't give full stars only because we haven't eaten in yet . Oh forgot to take a photo of the tirimisu portion , very nice bit pricy at £5 but it was my birthday ! And in my experience and years of looking nobody does a great tirimisu than a true Italian !

The pizzas are massive, even bigger than the takeaway larges. The menu really limited (it's exactly the same as the takeaway one), and there's no drinks menu to look at. But service is friendly and the pizzas great.

So if you actually watch how they make the pizzas they cook the bases and stick them on a rack in advance. They then take pre-cooked bases and add the sauce, cheese, toppings and then bake them again. This explains why the base and crust is ultra hard and chewy. This ain't proper pizza guys, this is garbage!

We waited over 3 hours for our food. I was told the food was out for delivery and then had to wait another 1.5 hours. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude, condescending, and unhelpful. The service was the worst I’ve ever received in this town. I won’t be ordering from here ever again

Fat Toni's used to be phenomenal. They're still good but feel like they really scrimp on the cheese now. Would rather you increase prices and keep the quality the same as it used to be!

The real deal in Stroud. Authentic Italian pizzeria with a great choice of both pizzas and sides (cicchetti). Very good service where Nick, Sam, and Beatrice went the extra mile, so we had the perfect meal. Pizza was so good that we didn't even think of taking pictures of it.

Ordered two pizzas tonight and (when asked online) chose for them to be delivered at 8:30pm. They turned up at 7:30pm while we were putting the kids to bed. Not helpful. My wife politely asked them to deliver at 8:30pm like she had requested. 8:30pm came and went. I tried calling them for 25mins with no answer. Then it finally turned up. I mentioned that they were 25 mins late to the driver who very sarcastically said 'what do you want me to do... take them back again?'. I said 'no, I just wanted them when we asked.' Not the first time I've been messed around by Fat Toni's take away. Last time I went to pick it up and there I waited 30mins even though they said it would be ready. There were about 4 other customers also waiting for quite a while with one guy complaining after waiting 45mins. They weren't even busy in the restaurant. Stroud shop appears to be a shambles.

Came to Stroud for our daughter's birthday, waited an hour for dough balls that never arrived.. not the service expected. Would have been nice for an apology but even that was to much to ask.

Pizza was stuck to the bottom of the box lid so lost a lot of the topping as had paper stuck to it once peeled off. Was quite burnt both on the bottom of the pizza and various areas on top and on the crust. Was almost cold. Usually very nice and prompt.

Food was cold, tasted nice, did not receive any of the brownies we ordered, was told to get refund through just eat but haven’t been able to.

Received a phone call from the restaurant just before the order arrived to say they had no brownies left so agreed a refund with them. Pizza arrived very quickly but I was missing both the side dips I ordered so I only received 1 out of the 4 items I originally ordered. Pizza quality has improved since the last time I’ve ordered, enjoyed it much more than the last time! Just wish you would cut the pizzas!

Just had worst pizza of my life was stone cold was hard to find the toppings as seemed to be missing … the base was so dry and chewy as well as the garlic bread the delivery was extremely late getting here even my dogs have refused to eat it totally waste of money …… hopefully people will read this before ordering as I wish someone had warned me not to order This is the first ever bad review I have ever made please be warned how bad this place is 🤮there are plenty more negative reviews on just eat

Made an order at 7.30 and was told the driver had left at 8.10. 9pm still received nothing. Rang them up and asked where our food was and was told that it was just coming out of the over and they mark it down as “despatched” just to clear it. Spent best part of 20 minutes trying to get though to them and phone wouldn’t even ring as if they had disconnected the phone. It’s a shame because the food is always really good from them.

Thought the pizza was early, the time it got here was ever so slightly warm, wasn’t even cut and when you took a bite, the amount of force to get a mouthful was like cardboard. Used to be top tier in quality before they moved. However the ghost pepper jam is exquisite.

Second time this has happened now with Fat Tonis stroud, they seem to accept orders when they may not have the capacity to deal with them and leave you waiting >2.5hrs. Then either cancel the delivery or mark as delivered when it isn't. Nobody picks up the phone. Its a shame as the food is very good quality but service is too variable/communication is appalling.

Loved it. Just loved it. Authentic Italian pizza. Good size and good price. Excellent service. Perfect in the dish and careful with the allergens. Nice different options. Visiting again and again for more. Every visit each nee recipe and I'm sure they'll not make regret it. Last 3 visits went perfect. Quite and simple cozy ambience. Toilets are neat. Not expensive. Good for dates and family dinners.

I had a bit of time before the cinema so visited solo. Some restaurants can make you feel awkward but I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable (thank you, Nick and Juan). Had a lovely glass of Pecorino white wine and a Puttanesca pizza then an affogato. All delicious and beautifully presented. It was hard to choose a pizza as they are all amazing.

Wow! Just ordered for the first time and I’m impressed. The base is delicious - it’s the perfect sourdough pizza. Amazing mix of soft, chewy and crusty, such a great texture. There is such a range of different toppings too. I went for the 4-way to try a range and it all was amazing! Will be ordering regularly from now on. Good value too, the large 20 inch lasted me 3 meals 👍🏻reheat sliced in the oven and they are as good as new.

Fat Toni's wasn't just a good place where you get authentic Italian food, but also the place where you can get out of the box varieties with some unexpected yet delicious ingredients/additions in the profoundly common food options. I had a vegetarian pizza which came with toppings such as goat cheese, caramelised onions, olives, tomato, courgette, pickled mushrooms and mozzarella along with garlic rosemary chips as I wanted to be in the safe side to have the first experience. The taste was good. The only issue was, I needed no caramelised onions but it still got them and the service was a bit slow.

Struggling to understand how you don’t know where I live. Delivery people are very apologetic, but food is always stone cold.
