Food was still piping hot, which is rare these days!

Great food as always! I had the battered halloumi and it was delicious.

Rubbish for the 2nd time they forgot part my order, use farrows at your peril, I will never visit them again

Farrows is normally our go to fish and chip shop but recently standards have dropped! Chips were hard and not fresh. Fish wasn’t great. Seems they’re taking more orders than they can handle. Shame as this was the best chip shop up until recently.

The chips were only just warm enough to not need reheating and the G.F batter on the fish was a bit stodgy / undercooked. Overall a tasty alternative to havong to think about cooking myself

Excellent. But they forgot our mushy peas :( trying to call but can’t get through

My son ordered food on my phone and accidently chose collection instead of delivery, we didn't realise until it was time to collect. I called the restaurant 19 times consecutively but they refused to answer! I don't drive and couldn't leave the house with a baby at home, £25 wasted when I would've happily paid someone in cash to deliver the food!

Food is always fresh, and large portions!

The delivery time kept stretching, but I think this because they don’t have the delivery driver. But the food was obviously cooked fresh for us - piping hot and crispy. Couldn’t ask for more.

Very disappointed. Went in Saturday 8.30..chios weren't that fresh and cod although a substantial piece had obviously been cooked a while before.

Only about half the amount of chips than usual and they were not the hottest they've been either. Disappointingly you didnt have the veggie pasty again

Small portions and was barely warm

One hiccup theyrang to say theyd no veg pasties so offered a swap, the veg sausages that we had instead whilst nice were not at all as substantial as a pasty would have been.

Stopped to get petrol for 10 mins meaning the food wasn’t that hot

Normally great service from here. Think today was just a bad day for them them. Food kept getting later on the app, ended up half hour later than the latest time first put on here. The food was nice but had to microwave it. Delivery driver was good.

We normally go and pick up from Farrows, we decided to get a delivery today due to work. The quality is awful! So disappointed, regular chips has barely any edible chips in, loads of black and green bits. The others are really dry! The large chips is barely any bigger than the regular. Really really poor!

Chips are usually good, but they were a bit bitty and dry last time i visited. Also seems like food is no longer always freshly cooked. Seems to have gone downhill. It is also quite expensive compared to other takeaways in the area.

due to a late delivery and what seemed multiple drop off my food was cold. The delivery charge is a little steep if there's 3 drop offs in one delivery run

The courier arrived about 30 minutes after the “ your food is being prepared” indication appeared, so the food was up to Farrow’s high standard, but was cold when it arrived.

Shocking!!!! Hours late & no answer on phone when ringing to find out where delivery was. Still no food at least 2.5 hours later. Normally good service but am appalled tonight. It says delivered on my app bit nothing here. £28.00 for nothing so far!!!! No answer when trying to ring the shop.

Chips dry. Didn’t like the batter, not crispy and overall meal was not very warm. Noticed not transported in an insulated bag before handing over, probably reason for barely warm food.

Best fish and chips in Bristol now won’t go anywhere else great quality batter crisp and chips always done to a crisp not soggie at all just the way I like them only wish I could afford to have them once every two weeks instead of it being my treat once a month thanks again for all your hard work

Have been going to farrows for years and it’s really gone down hill. Dry chips and sausage, the tiniest cod they could have caught and as always there was a mess up with the order. Normally we expect the online to not work - the people working there look at you like they’ve never taken an order before - but we put up with that as the food is normally good. But really poor today.

Just feel the chips were thrown in as off cuts, and been sat for a day. Compared to the order last week were they were fresh.

Food is fantastic, however please check you recive your full order, twice now we have been missing things. (Could be a hungry driver, who knows?)

We were missing the Haddock and had to phone Farrows. we then had to go and pick it up ourselves.

Food was cold, £6 for a large chips that was smaller than a small chips from any other chip shop.

It never arrived. Courier map said nearby then said delivered. Nothing there at all! I suspect that the courier has eaten it. Shop closed so unable to speak to them. I had actually added a tip for driver so I am very annoyed.

Please change your so called “delivery partner” there are much better ones out there. My food arrived cold and was inedible, through no fault of Farrows - it was completely down the delivery going round the houses and making several deliveries. Just Eat don’t know the meaning of customer service and trying to get help from them is impossible. Unfortunately that damages Farrows reputation for excellent food and when delivery isn’t their fault that’s just unfair!

Support your local chippy. Gluten free, tasty and pretty reasonably priced considering how expensive everything is at the mo Banana fitter is a must for pudding

Really disappointing. £19 for a large cod and chips. Ordered Sunday evening 28th July. The chips are gritty with old oil and taste like they’re over a day old and the fish is dry as a bone. Feels dirty eating this 😮‍💨 The mushy peas have been obliterated as well. Will never go here again.

Very disappointed this time around, large cod and chips, more a regular size cod from the usual, both very dry, hard chips. Cheese and onion pastry very dry. Clearly not freshly made, well made today but left in the hot cupboard for way to long … not had fish and chips in months was looking forward to a top quality standard this place used to have, didn’t enjoy it one little bit, it’s a good job the dog likes fish….. an expensive wasted meal,time to try a new fish and chips shop!

Say delivered but now 8.36pm (2 hours after ordering and has NOT been delivered to 8 Hill Avenue). Tried calling multiple times but no answer. Expect a full refund

Ordered at 5pm midweek, chips were cooked to absolute perfection. Crispy outside and fluffy middle, arrived nice and hot. Also got the scampi and battered sausage with mushy peas and a curry sauce. All perfect. I've seen some bad reviews on here so I was concerned but I assume I had timed this well as the chippy opened. Really really good dinner today. Thank you.

Delicious regular cod- crispy and then flakey inside, great chips!! Not tooo greasy which I loved, loved the tartare, wish it was in a bigger pot because it’s tasty! Mushy peas were cool :)
