Farnham House Hotel in Waverley

Stayed for one night...beautiful house and setting....staff very friendly, room quite small but nice..decor tatty,.needs updating, very basic old tv, bed clean and comfy ....bathroom basic ,very poor finish to decor ..old and tired... wasnt value for money...it could be a beautiful stay

Fabulous house with comfortable clean spacious rooms. 5* service. We had a room with a balcony and it was lovely with a great garden view. The bar and restaurant areas were comfortable and staff were very attentive. Being pet friendly was a factor in us booking as we were not sure if we might need to bring our dog. The room price was very competitive and the food and drinks were very reasonable. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend and would stay again.

Lovely country hotel and very easy to find. It was the perfect location for a wedding we were attending just 1 mile away. Comfortable bed, quiet and great breakfast. I would highly recommend. Only down side is there is a limited evening menu for food as they do not cater as a restaurant only really bar food. But the food we had was good.

Stopover whilst on cycle tour. Pleasant welcome . Rooms were fine, but a little tired. Only bar menu available when we where there so limited choice, food was fine. Breakfast was fine. Overall - nice old building, friendly welcome, a bit tired looking in places. If cycling here there isn't any bike storage, but we locked ours in a sheltered alcove at the front.

Fabulous hotel, friendly helpful staff, good food and a cosy bar. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food and drink were of a high standard. Highly recommended.

Stayed at this hotel the other night. I made a special request for my room, however, I wasn’t going to be that upset if they were unable to accommodate this.. unfortunately they were not able to do this for me, however the hotel never informed me of this. In fact, I had to ask if they did see my message just to confirm, but instead of apologising (which I would have been fine with) the receptionist was very rude and shut me down straight away. As well as this, the rooms were dated and our toilet was a replica of the leaning tower of Pisa, as it tilted 20 degrees to the right.

I paid £100 for the night which I found expensive for what I got. Dated old hotel could do with a bit of updating especially the carpets. Curtains poor quality which did a bad job of keeping the morning summer light out. Shampoo, body and hand wash that was provided were the same thing just labeled differently. The bed wasn’t too bad to sleep on.

Quick short overnight stopover for business the next morning. Accommodating staff, friendly and professional. Room #4 was fantastic and clean. The shower was well pressurised and hot. Breakfast was plentiful, and coffee was OK. Grounds looked great of what I managed to

Thank you, Farnham House Hotel! We came to Farnham as our daughter had her interview at UCA. Each and every member of staff we met were nothing less than fantastic, they all gave our daughter best wishes and good luck and that was so appreciated. Your hotel is just beautiful, I love an old building with some history. They don't claim to be a 5 star, but for a 3 star, we were really impressed! There was one slight issue, nothing major, which was sorted with kindness, respect and a smile! Hopefully, when our daughter achieves her place at the University, we will become regulars at your hotel. Thank you for looking after us so well. X

Average hotel mattress was too soft, room wasn't properly cleaned bathroom was in tired condition. Need updating.

We had our wedding here in late November last year & from start to finish we were absolutely bowled over with how professional, friendly & caring the team were with us & all our guests. Our wedding co-ordinator was Callum, & although he is also the manager of all the hotels in the group, he did his upmost at all points for us & was always at the end of the phone! We can’t thank him enough, he was the most amazing person to deal with! The hotel itself is beautiful as are its surroundings & the staff that looked after us there were fantastic!, couldn’t fault anything! We actually stayed for the weekend in the sister hotel - Alton House Hotel, which was equally as lovely, this worked really well for us as Callum organised mini buses for the very short journey between the two hotels & our guests loved it!! Thank you so much to everyone involved, you did a wonderful job for us, & especially to Callum for literally all his efforts & hard work! Susannah & Stewart Gray.
