Went for refreshments after a funeral today and I have to say as a caterer myself ,what a fantastic freshly made spread they put out !! Everything was delicious and plentiful !! Highly recommend

We called in after our walk and found the staff friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was outstanding with small huts outstanding in the garden to sit and on match days, the TV in each hut is available to watch. Good selection of larger/beer. Well definitely be going there again. Loved it.

Very welcoming atmosphere. The cakes are well worth trying, as is the hot chocolate.

They've just started doing coffee and food during the day. Been up twice so far, and we haven't been disappointed. The food is good, the staff are better. There were people waiting outside for them to open both times. Our group are now planning on coming in regularly, as we enjoyed it so much

Lovely little friendly pub , we stopped in for a quick pint on the way to Llantrisant, and stayed for a few , the staff were extremely friendly , and came over for a chat , brilliant service and a brilliant pub. , just a shame we couldn’t try the food this time !

I do love coming for a drink here at the end of the nature walk that goes from trefforest through to church village ☺️ staff are lovely

Really nice, local, and traditional pub. It's been there for hundreds of years. The new owners are doing great. It was a pleasure to return there after tears to see the place thriving with friendly customers and staff. I visited on a very busy day near Christmas, but they were clearly well prepared for the hustle and bustling crowds. Beer garden is lovely in the summer, and there's a bar that opens just to serve outdoor drinkers. It's a local and kind touch that not many places have. This pub has been developed in the heart of a small local dwelling for over 250 years. It's worth a visit. Dogs are welcome, and there's treats at the bar for them so no one is left out. Thank you to the new landlords for keeping the pub so true to itself.

Great little village pub with large beer garden.

We had my mum's wake he and they put on a lovely spread for 40 people. They did a couple of plates of gluten free food for me.

Really enjoyed this local pub, made us feel very welcome. Beer was very reasonably priced and the portions were generous. We had the Katsu Tofu which was delicious and the Tofu Burger, which used fried breaded tofu for the burger (really tasty). The chips are also really excellent. My only comment would be that the tofu Burger came with a big mushroom, and this seemed a bit out of place. I think a couple of onion rings would have fit better with the tofu Burger instead.

Fantastic traditional pub. A real gem. The landlord was friendly and the drinks were great. A friend who I went with remarked on the quality of Guinness which coming from an ex barman is high praise indeed. Mid week so not too busy and for older building gave a hum of conversation without overhearing others. Range of different seating and tables. Didn't sample food but gave the impression that it'd be a nice place to go for a meal and drink. Seemed very dog friendly with a water dispenser outside the front door and a couple of dogs in the pub while we were there including a very friendly small dog which seemed to live there. Didn't try the beer garden but it seemed spacious. Definitely would go again even though quite a way from pontypridd it's worth the trip

Great welcome and amazing landlady and landlord and bar staff ( and Richard ) not been in for a few months due to my cancer diagnosis but really wanted to go back in after weeks of me crying over my diagnosis this pub will be my favourite pub of all time and this is for mum Wendy and my dad John ( o’connor )

Fantastic pub, excellent service and very friendly. Lovely outside space, sadly we had a personal issue with my father in law. All staff were extremely helpful and made what could have been difficult very easy with no fuss. Thankfully he's all good now huge thanks to Ian and the team

Visited the pub garden shortly after Covid restrictions were lifted. The welcome we received from the owner was wonderful. As he was clearing the glasses from the tables he stopped to chat with the customers and thanked them for supporting the reopening of the pub. Excellent customer service.

Small and traditional feel with a decent selection of beers and good food. Very popular with the locals and anyone who wants to visit.

This is classic British pub fare. Everything is cooked really well, including the chips! Burgers are amazing and there is a good selection on the menu. This is a small country pub with a friendly atmosphere. No juke box or fruit machines (hooray). Very welcoming staff. Cosy in the winter, fantastic beer garden in the summer. Highly recommended.

This afternoon we visited the pub for lunch ,lovely country pub so to speak,the welcome was lovely .We placed our order which was a prawn baquett with sides and a vegetarian burger ,the meals were amazing unfortunately we both could not eat all of it for the price we paid exceptional. Such a warm cozy place lovely atmosphere. We were so happy we booked a party of 12 in cannot wait to visit again thankyou

This place is how a proper local pub should be, none of the sterile chain pub feeling, only good warm ambiance! Food is excellent, beer is excellent, surroundings are excellent, service is excellent, and the banter is sublime!! It's always a pleasure to stop here! 🙂

Recent visit for evening meal. I think they call it pub grub” but it’s much better than that and does the usual such as curries, steaks and burgers. Service is always excellent and food reasonable and of a high quality. It’s also our local so a great pub just pop in for a quiet drink. Thank you Lisa, lan and staff. Keep up the good work

Lovely little find not far from main road. Absolutely beautiful food and lovely service. Be aware, no car park so park off the main road but plenty space there.

I visited this pub for lunch where they had a full menu and special offerings. The staff and environment generally are friendly making it a safe place to dine.

Always enjoy the farmers, nice pint and the dog is welcome and normally spoilt.

Absolutely disappointing, food was disgusting,not fresh but frozen cheap bargain basement rubbish,it made my father in law sick I'll never go here again,also staff were miserable with a cant be bothered attitude..

What a gem.. gorgeous food. quite small inside, but that's part of the charm. The beer garden is lovely on a sunny day. Only problem we tried to book Sunday lunch and they told us on the phone they dont do it.. yet it's on the menu. That's the reason for.the deducted star.

What a great friendly place. 25 of us just dropped in on our way to Swansea v Forest, great welcome, no fuss. Lovely selection of beers at proper prices. The place itself is great, if we lived any closer than Nottingham this would be our local, it's everything you want from a pub! It is now on our good pub guide for our travels with football, quite an honour. The girls behind the bar were terrific, thanks for having us , good luck in the future.

Fantastic pub, all drinks are perfectly kept. Some lovely ales and the Guinness is great. So far tried the scampi, burgers, burrito and lasagne. The lasagne was ok, nothing special but adequate while the rest were outstanding. Good honest pub grub and very good portion size. The service was excellent and the staff are great. Highly recommend.

Omg. Ordered a steak without chips as I'm on a no chip diet.. the steak was amazing.the salad was so tasty I wanted more.. highly recommended. Fabulous atmosphere great prices.
