Very good food. My only comment would be menu is very limited but what they do is good. Next time I'm back in the area I would definitely go again.

This time it was to celebrate a recent Graduation. Previously it was as a couple, and separately with friends from the States, and on another occasion Sunday Lunch. We keep going back because we receive a warm welcome and great food, all at a good price point. They currently have a Thursday Special and a separate Friday and Saturday Special. Tonight's was home cooked pie, proper chips (or mash), peas and gravy and a pint all for £11. They run their menu alongside the Special Nights, and a Children's Menu. Oh and our grandson snaffled the 'everything option' with his dessert. Normally you choose ice cream, custard or cream. Meal and a pint £11 - this Landlord is doing his bit during these hard times. I thought that Sunday lunch the other weekend was superb too. Did I mention Steak Night and how impressed our friends were? Well I should have.

Dog friendly pub, our dog was allowed in the lounge. We visited on a Thursday and both had pie and a pint for £10. Amazing value and the homemade chicken and gammon pie was packed so full of meat and everything very tasty and hot. Puds are only £3.50 and also homemade we both tried sticky toffee pudding and custard, absolutely lush! Is was so good we came back again the next (and last) night of our hols. They had pulled pork in a bun with chips and coleslaw with rhubarb crumble to follow for £10! We both had this although I had chocolate brownie instead of crumble, everything again was fab. Staff are friendly and efficient, place is your basic village pub, but the food is just great. Wish we had found this sooner in our weeks holiday!

We had a takeaway as we were holidaying. We had ordered the Moroccan Lamb and vegetarian madras. They were both very good, decent portions and ready for collection as agreed.

Food and atmosphere on the weekend is second to none. Since reopening this pub has become the centre of village life once more, I highly recommend this pub to anyone who lives or is visiting the area.

We visited the Falcon in Llanilar recently and were greeted with a warm welcome, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the burger/pizza and a pint for £10 which was great value for money. The food was full of flavour and neatly presented. We sat by the fire which made our experience all the more cosy. Will definitely be back!!

We were stopping at a cottage a few miles away and popped in for an evening meal on a Friday. Its a cosy place and the bar was quite busy with locals and their dogs. After the barman said dogs were also allowed in the lounge we went there with our dog and ordered our meal. It also has a separate restaurant which I believe is a dog free area.I ordered the sirloin steak and my wife had the vegetarian lasagne. The steak was large, just looking at it on my plate made my mouth water and I was not disappointed. It was quality meat cooked to perfection and went down lovely with the Double Dragon ale. My wife also enjoyed her lasagne which in itself is a compliment as so often she is disappointed with the veggie lasagne option in many of the pubs we have been to over the years.I have given this pub 5 stars and called it 'honest' because it is exactly what I would expect in a small village pub, down to earth friendly staff without any pretentions. The village shop is also on the same site. If I'm ever in the area again this would be my first choice for a meal.

We stayed on the Pantmawr campsite and walked along the old railway line for lunch at the pub. A traditional village pub and very welcoming. Only served roasts on Sundays but meal was good. Being gluten free I was not able to have gravy but used butter instead. Instant gluten free gravy powder is very good and would have made a perfect dinner. The banana split was huge and delicious. Would go there again.

I booked a meal for 10 on Sat. the 30th sept. The booking was accepted. We were arriving for a weeks holiday about 8 miles from the inn that day, quite late, so didnt want to cook. On Friday, I received a brief message, cancelling my booking, without any reason being given. I think this is extremely poor service, and will certainly not go there or recommend it to anyone in the future.

We went for Sunday lunch. There was Pork loin or Beef to choose from. We chose pork and it was lovely. There were 7 side vegetables, all beautifully cooked also Apple sauce and gravy. For desert there was a large choice. I chose the home made meringues with summer fruits and whipped cream. The meringues were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They were beautiful as they were not too sweet and the fruit and cream complemented the meringues very well. My husband chose the home made apple flan with ice cream and that was also very much enjoyed. The staff are very welcoming and we will certainly be back. Thank you.

Came for Sunday lunch on 3rd November and the food and service was outstanding. We had 3 courses and each course was lovely. The beef and salmon were perfectly cooked and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The atmosphere was great and we’re looking forward to our next visit very very soon.

The View certainly has the Wow Factor! From the comfortable, modern vibe to the fabulous hosting, Lorraine with her team made our Sunday lunchtime ( and Friday coffees) an absolute pleasure. It really did feel like the customer’s needs were at the heart of what is offered. The carvery totally reached the spot with a very reasonable price tag. What more could we have hoped for. Thank you x
