Very busy and we were lucky to get a table, loved the schnitzel

Ok, though a few issues. I had the veggie breakfast, which was good - the kale especially so! Though the vegetarian sausages were a bit plain and overcooked, and some beans would not have gone amiss. Another person in our group had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and found that the salmon was very fatty - and a large piece of eggshell. Very good service however, friendly and efficient.

We tried this place on a Sunday evening, trying to find somewhere to eat after 7pm (most kitchens were closed at this time of the day). A few tables outside, a nicely decorated interior (full of old french vintage posters and signs) with chairs/tables. We tried the burgers and we were a bit disappointed by the food : the fries were a bit too dry and too crispy (personal taste of course) and the beef wasn't very juicy and tasty. Anyway, it did the job but the quality/price ratio ain't the best un town. The lady in charge of our table was very friendly 🙏

A family birthday brought us here for the first time and the restaurant did not disappoint. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent. The menu doesn't not do the food justice, with no complaints at all around the table. Six adults and a six year old were very happy with the meal. Service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the upbeat playlist was just right. Everything was spot on. Will definitely be returning. Oh and the french onion soup 👌👌👌

Have walked past Fagin's for ages and thankfully went in today. One of the best breakfast's I've had in years and very reasonable. Everything delicious amd cooked perfectly. Staff were all really lovely, welcoming and friendly. Perfect! Will be back very soon.

The food was good, burger ok, falafel and hummus platter really nice. The feel is more cafe than pub or restaurant, not comfortable enough to linger for a second drink. A little bit more expensive than should be I'd say. They did allow in our dog. The servers weren't exactly bursting with enthusiasm but it was busy so maybe they were just a bit harassed.

Steaks were chewy and not cooked as requested. Service not good. Wouldn't return.

Lovely restaurant, gorgeous decor unfortunately had to wait ages for our booked table and it took a long time for food to come out, a little pricey for what you get, Lovely staff.

Fagins has a fantastic atmosphere and is an establishment that goes the last mile for its customers with impeccable service and food that is amazing quality being of very high standard. I have used this restaurant for many special occasions and will continue to do so in the future. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a really lovely lunch at Fagins today of the seafood sharing platter and seared tuna Niçoise salad. Both delicious, really friendly staff (Buster served us) and prompt food arrival. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Had a lovely meal yesterday here, food was delicious and cocktails very good, we sat outside, nice place to people watch! Staff so friendly and helpful would recommend.

We had our wedding at Fagins last night. Everything was amazing and they made our day so special. The food, staff and service are great!

Staff were very friendly and it was lovely and clean and well-decorated. We arrived at 12:15/30pm, lunchtime, in the hopes of getting lunch but were told they don’t serve lunch until 1pm, we can only get breakfast/brunch. Having already eaten breakfast, we were a bit disappointed but decided to wait until 1pm. The food took quite a while to come, approximately 20/30 minutes, there were other tables in there but I wouldn’t say it was really busy. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t great for us. It was palatable but the chicken caesar burger didn’t have any ‘caesar’ flavouring, the beef burger was burnt and dry, and the chips were cooked well but way too salty. I do find it is a little overpriced, it’s nearly £17 just for a salad, and £18.50 for mussels (which only come in portions of 1 kilo). I was disappointed at the quality of the food and the price it was priced at. The girls serving were lovely though and the place itself was lovely.

Extremely glad to have found this place. My husband and I had a breakfast and a coffee. The food was cooked PERFECTLY and the beans that they used made a very good coffee. The staff were polite and welcoming. We have definitely found a new favorite!

We stumbled across Fagin’s whilst walking around the old town and we’re so happy to have found it. Amazing food, friendly service and great value for money. The best meal on our 2 week tour of southern England. The dish of the day (fresh fish) was delicious as was the humous with flatbread. The banoffee pie desert was unbelievably good. Will definitely come back.

Popped in for lunch. Nice atmosphere, good food choice and friendly service. Visiting here our friend said she thought it had been taken over as they did not have a good previous experience. We were pleased with everything about Fagins which we will visit again.

Kevin Richardson I'm going to agree with you, ordered calamari bland and a margarita pizza everything about it no taste ,did ask for oregano young girl went missing which I found funny you can't find the herbs in a kitchen, 3 youngsters working front of house didn't look like they wanted to be there I do understand, must try harder.

Other places were booked and Fagins had space. Menu was “selective” which can be a good thing. The food was OK nothing special but basic. If you like wide plain crusts on a pizza, this is the place for you. Minimum effort but a high price. You could say the name says it all from the Charles Dickens clasic.

Worst vegan burger I have ever had. Stale bread and dry.

Excellent food and service. In the heart of Hastings old town, has an extensive menu. We came here twice, once for breakfast and then again for the dinner.

Great restaurant, we didn't have a big meal, just mid afternoon drinks and snacks but it's a great venue with a fantastic menu. Great for lunch and realy cosy for dinner with beautiful decor. Only a few minutes walk from the beach and right on the end of George Street - this is super central and a great place for a pot stop. Highly recommend.

Place was empty but service slower than slow. Bizarre choice of accompaniments for the full breakfast, including kale. Toast soggy and meal turned up missing components, which I had to ask for. Staff unfriendly.

Brunch- don't go anywhere else. Didn't get a chance to take a photo, was too busy eating. It's rare I have a fry up without any sauce, but wasn't needed. That's a very good sign. Friendly and very fast efficient service. Really nice vibe. Thanks very much guys!!!

Popped in for brunch/lunch and enjoyed the offerings of this delightful little restaurant near to the seafront in Hastings. Sample a light lunch but will probably go back again to enjoy some more of the varied menu.

Service was slow but we were a large table. Otherwise excellent friendly service with a smile. Child and Animal friendly. Good value for money.

the best mussels🐚 I have ever eaten (and I really have eaten a lot in different places) when it comes to England, this is the best place and the tastiest mussels (and that sauce OMG) perfectly made, the taste is amazing, I'm already thinking when to come back for more. Additionally, we ordered a Caesar salad 🥗and I respect restaurants the most because they serve specific portions of meat in salads 👌🏻👏🏻 my husband ordered a steak🥩 (it was good, a bit stringy, especially since my husband eats steak a lot and makes it himself and knows beef, it was ok) but we definitely recommend the mussels and the Caesar bibten salad, the chicken is yum. beautiful place, atmospheric, by the sea, great👌🏻 the garlic butter seemed a bit suspicious to us (we think it was margarine, which is not ok)

Popped in for lunch, very good it was. We had the fish platter. Being out of season it was quite quiet. Had a good selection of food and drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Popular restaurant in a great location. I really wanted to love this place, but it just felt a little off. A few little things weren't great - such as some overcooked food, etc. The Pimm's cocktail however was great - plenty of Pimm's and fruit.

Massively underwhelming. For the price I expected a lot more. I ordered the Vienna Schnitzel and the new potatoes in the accompanying salad were raw, while the Schnitzel itself looked as disappointing as it tasted. Left feeling hard done by.

We only went and had a Cappuccino, hot and frothy and a lovely coffee taste, wth a little biscuit. It was quite and empty apart from another table . Allowed dogs too 😁.

Absolutely delicious food, we had the moules mariner and smoked seafood platter and both were incredible, great music and ambiance and they allow dogs, excellent.

Welcoming staff and looks really festive. The seafood tagliatelle was absolutely amazing- freshly cooked with an abundance of fresh seafood. And the moules frites was simply perfect.

Surprisingly half-empty, but then it is November. Excellent service and food, but if you’re having shish, perhaps choose chicken (not lamb) unless you have good teeth

Haven't been here for a while, new proprietors took great care of us, and the meals were top notch, reasonably priced. Returned again today, first time since covid, although I do live locally .The Diner is as popular as ever, I had the curry wurst, with chips and sauerkraut, very nice, but not quite the authentic taste of Germany.

Visited early this evening with family, relaxed dining, fabulous food and great service, Starters were huge, we'd probably share one next time, the mains were also a good size but quality was not compromised. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for a great evening. (No photos as we were hungry and forgot as the food was good!)

We had a meal last night and the food was not good. Especially the calamari my daughter had was soggy, under cooked and very fishy (a sign of being on the turn). When the lady asked if food was ok I told her and she was combative saying it was because she had squeezed lemon on. It was left unresolved although cast an atmosphere over the rest of the experience. To be fair when it came to the bill she said she had taken it off. In general though all the elements of our 5 meals were low quality none of us enjoyed our food. If I had a better response we might’ve had desserts and coffee and spent more so Fagins you shoot yourselves in the foot and I definitely will not return. It was notable actually that the restaurant was literally empty on a Sunday evening.

We ordered a hot chocolate and croissants. All arrived cold. We asked the waiter to heat the croissants and give us fresh HOT chocolate. The croissants came back warmish and the hot chocolate was left on the counter for some time as waiting staff were serving cold drinks first. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clean they just need to be a little bit more on point.

As we went in the week and late in the evening, we were surprised as most of the restaurants were closed at 9.00 pm, but Fagin was open, although quiet, but we had an excellent meal with good service.

If more eateries did bacon sandwiches like these guys, the world would be a better place. Coffee, service and atmosphere were also excellent. I’ll be back.

Lovely lunch with family at Fagin's. Enjoyed soaking up the sun sitting outside in the old town. Staff were lovely and friendly and food was delicious.

Lovely place, lots of character to the building, fresh healthy Mediterranean style food. Toilets and bar/counter were up a few steps, but there is table service.

We had some lovely food here, and had a really nice server at first. After we received our food she disappeared and another woman took over, which is where our rating loses a few stars. We first overheard the second server speaking disrespectfully to a senior lady on the table next to ours who had very politely asked for a basic change to her meal. She then used the same exasperated tone with us when we politely asked, after loud drilling started on a construction site across the road, to either move inside (which was mostly empty) from the terrace to finish our dessert or take it away. Maybe she was having a bad day… but I got the impression that she shouldn’t be working in customer service if she could get irritated by customers making reasonable requests.

This used to be a great place to eat before it changed hands, now it's extremely disappointing.... The burger was slightly better than macdonalds but not even as good as burger King, and the chips were no where nearly as good as either they were over cooked and similar to wood.. they have a very poor selection of cheap n nasty alcohol, and all the wrong beers, including Madri the worst beer from Spain, and tescos cheapest...and the place looks like a complete renovation is long overdue.. I'll go to macdonalds next time, far better value and much cleaner I am sorry to say. Disregard all the pictures you see they are ancient... and all the good reviews they have must be from their friends & family. I refuse to believe that many people could be so oblivious to such poor quality overpriced garbage.

Rock-a-nore Royal was delicious, a very generous helping of salmon, buttery hollandaise and perfectly cooked spinach.

Very disappointed over all, they were unable to provide some of the standard items on the menu and two of the three specials were unavailable. It took far to long time for the food to be delivered and when it was it was, in my opinion, it was of poor standard.

Very bad experience.. After siting at the table inside freezing to death and after several complains, the manager finally agreed to shut the main door (kept open all the time in order to help the waitresses to serve people outside).. I mean we are in Spring not Summer and unless there is a strong heating system inside, don't let customers get to the point to freeze like that.. The food was nothing special, but we waited almost 40 minutes to have the starters and other 35/45 to have the main course.. At that point, we were quite upset as we only ordered some olives as started (which the majority were smashed as they have been recycled by other tables - at least this was the impression) and a couple of Burgers.. We left with the intention of no coming back..

Went here for dinner with the family, good range of kids choices including a halloumi burger that my daughter had and enjoyed very much. I had the moules frites and these were very good too. Was a little different disappointed with the tiramisu for dessert hence missing out on the 5 star score on the food but given the quality of everything else I am sure there are better options for dessert I just picked poorly. Staff were friendly and food came in good time, all in all a good experience.

Went with a 7 month old, 2 year old and 5 year old. The staff were amazingly accommodating and the food was excellent. They also have the best baby changing facilities. Will come again next time we’re in Hastings.

Randomly decided to try Fagins for breakfast on Wednesday. Was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the breakfast and my brother also enjoyed the vegetarian option. Brilliant food for a good price. Will definitely be back

Nice veggie breakfast. Nice staff. Strangely spoiled by I guess the griddled toast. Might seem like a minor quibble but it has to be one of the most unpleasant food tastes of my many summers on this planet. Guys Just use a regular grill or toaster. Unless you like the taste of burned oil/plastic/chemicals #yuck.
