Just terrible - the staff are disinterested and the amount you’re paying you expect to have a better time. Wouldn’t recommend.

Nice decor and a good quality range of cocktails - make sure you book to get a table but nevertheless a great place to start your evening

So dissapointed with the quality of service and bad attitude of the staff, definitely do not recommend. Not welcoming atmosphere - bright lights at 0630pm, felt like being in a cafe and sadly drinks are very common..

I arrived on my own wondering if there was space inside for 5, my friend were in another place waiting to find out if there was space in ECC . For context it's Thursday, 18:30 and lots of Christmas parties happening so trying to find a place for 5 is hard in soho at this time. The gentleman at the door was completely unhelpful, did not want to tell me if there was space inside and instead insisted that group fully assemble before answering my question of "is there space inside" apparently to him "you are asking to many questions" . Last time i checked ..asking if there is room for guests is a pretty basic question when it comes to bars and restaurants. Now logically.. its easy to answer the question of "is there space inside" because if he say yes , my friends can assemble (2 minutes away), he can look at us and determine if he wants to let us in (his responsibility I cannot deny), but our chances of getting in is ultimately higher and with a purpose. Howeve, No, The man at the door would rather waste all our time without a definive if there was space. Again Its before Christmas, everything is busy so it's not nice to move a group of people to a location and waste our time if the man already knows there is no space. Ultimate it came down to if the door man, and how he judged me, ultimately I'm not going to lie I feel discriminated .. funny how he works in chinatown

I am super disappointed in the customer service of patrons paying a lot of money at your bar. I was there with some girlfriends in March and spent a fair bit of money. My friend and I both left items at the bar (my denim jacket in the cloak room) and she lost her purse and keys. I have reached out 3x on Instagram (no phone number or other way to contact) and have been ghosted. My friend even turned up a few days later to try speak to someone and was basically turned away by rude staff who couldn’t even be bothered to help. I think it’s a shocking way to treat guests and not even try to be helpful or respond. I’ll be ensuring no one from my company suggests going there in future quite honestly.

La prenotazione non è obbligatoria ma consigliata se ci si vuole assicurare un posto a sedere. Nello stile speakeasy un locale che merita essere provato. Abbastanza insolito come atmosfera dove bere un buon cocktail sarà una grande soddisfazione. Consiglio d'avere le idee ben chiare al momento dell'ordinazione...se non si vuole sprofondare nell'"infinito". Non economico.

The quality of the drinks and service were impeccable. Lovely comfortable setting. Staff friendly and polite as were the clientele. Had to go before the DJ started but appreciated the extra touch.

Alice is by far the best bartender I have ever had. So talented and creative! Definitely worth a visit or 10.

Bar caché dans Chinatown car aucune indication sur le bâtiment ou autre. Mais une fois trouvé, nous arrivons dans un bar sur 2 étages avec plein de recoins pour s'installer. Attention les consommations sont assez chers. Nous avons payé par exemple 40£ pour 2 fins et 1 vodka... Mais cet endroit à tout son charme et vaut le détour.

We loved this place!! We love cocktails and found this bar through some research. It didn’t disappoint. Very famous French cocktail bar. Door is hard to find since it’s speakeasy style. We got there right when it opened to make sure we got a seat, but would recommend reservations. Manon was our server and she was extremely friendly and helpful. Even gave us more recommendations of other bars she thought we would like. Ambiance was great, service fantastic, cocktails superb. Make sure to order one of their custom drinks! No G&T here! Will definitely come back on our next trip to London!

Our friend from Latvia told us about this club. At first we couldn’t find it.. we walked around but saw only Chinese restaurants. After two or three times I noticed dark door between two restaurants and asked the man standing in front of them isn’t this Experimental club and he kindly opened door and said “Welcome”. This was my first time here but I definitely will come over to taste some more drinks next time.

Arrived very late. Security was a joke..... Very loud, can not really have a conversation. Claustrophobic, drinks were average, service the same. Dirty toilets .... After midnight they charge for entry ..... Plenty of better places in London

Something a little different in an area of otherwise average pubs and obviously more chinese restaurants than you can shake a stick at. It's a little hard to find, but lookout for the doormen. Once past them and up the stairs you're into a dimly lit cocktail bar with some great music and decent cocktails. I'm sure they'd make whatever you wanted but we tried four off the menu and weren't disappointed.

We visited early on a Friday evening for some pre-dinner cocktails. It wasn't too busy, and we enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff, though a little more attentiveness at the table would not have gone amiss. They were happy to accommodate off-menu cocktail requests. Would definitely return.

We had a great experience at this bar! It's dark, dimly lit and has a speakeasy vibe to it. The service and drinks were great but be prepared to potentially be sitting very close to other parities. This was fine with us as we loved getting to know the people near us but you wouldn't have had to do that if you didn't want to but you would be sitting close. It can get a bit loud but again, this was fine and we just enjoyed the ambiance. It's very hard to find and the address doesn't necessarily take you to the place to be prepared for that, too, as it's behind a small door and up some streps in china town. there's a statue in the alley way and if you get to that statue, turn around and look right - there's a door on the wall you need to go in!

The place is well hidden in the middle of Chinatown which adds so much more mystery to the place. The cocktails taste amazing and the vibe inside is perfect for a date or just to hang out with friends!

Extremely rude and unprofessional bouncer! Arrogant attitude, edgy for no apparent reason! Bouncer is v unprofessional first bec we were wearing sneakers (even though we were all dressed up properly) than bec we wanted to have a smoke with our drinks right next to him, noting that no one told us that we can’t take our drinks outside. No reason for this nonsense there is always a nicer way to talk to customers. Other than this rude guy the cocktails were really nice and the place was cool too bad they hired this guy

We only had the cocktails here and they tasted great. The service was really good. The entrance was so hard to identify that we walked past it twice. It’s in between 2 Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. I can’t say for anything else on the menu but based on what we had and the atmosphere, I give it 5 stars.

Went with mates who go often. It was okay. Cocktails were fine, but the whole vibe is pretentious. Give me a regular bar without the posing and faux speakeasy ‘exclusive’ thing any day.

Another Great Cocktail Experience was had, I have visited this establishment quite a few times when I am in town and it never misses the mark. The cocktails are expertly mixed and always seem to pack a punch. In a good way. I love a Negroni and as always mixed perfectly. Would recommend a visit. remember the music is relaxed a a great vibe. I think they have got this just right, Can get busy on a Friday or Saturday but lovely for a great cocktail which you can count on.

We arrived at the venue and we were told there was only standing room however there was no entrance charge as other reviewers have found. We actually found a table as soon as we entered. Cocktails were expensive (£12 each) but as we don't visit London often we were happy to treat ourselves. We ordered (after a long wait) and one cocktail arrived. After at least another 10 minutes I tracked down a bar tender and asked for my drink- turns out it has been stood at the end of the bar for some time whilst they were cleaning tables. He was rude and there was no apology. The cocktails themselves were poor and so sour (and we like sour cocktails) I think they must have doubled up on the lime without realising. We paid the bill and the 12.5% undeserved service charge to a rude waiter and left. I'd agree with other reviewers - the atmosphere wasn't great and there are much better speakeasy bars in the area.

Hidden speakeasy bar in central London... Difficult to find but easy to love!!! Nice cocktails, good music, attentive and warm service. Excellent bar and I look forward to my next visit!!!

I'd recommended this place to anyone and like to take friends here for an intimate drink to kick-off a night out for a special occassion. I would advise booking ahead as, whilst it's hidden, it's definitely popular.

Atmosphere was lowkey and quirky. Didn’t enjoy some of the Snobby younger mindsets of owning the place. However, nice and relaxed environment with half decent London prices.

Fairly cool and stylish bar, but overpriced. £71 for round of five drinks. Think they must automatically give you doubles unless you ask for singles. Doorman accused me of "dancing" and told me to leave. Rude. Wouldn't go back.

Behind a black door in china town soho, up the stairs a nice cozy, sophisticated cocktail bar. Highly recommend

Not intuitive to find, but once you do, it's totally worth it. The upstairs bar is the place to go, and I highly recommend ordering your first drink off the menu, but then talking to the bartender about what kind of drinks you like and getting them to freelance a bit on your second.

A great speakeasy in China Town. Friendly staff, great location and good cocktail menu. We had such a fun night here and delicious drinks. I’ll be back next time I’m in London.

Unfortunately we weren’t too impressed with our visit. We have been to quite a few speak easy bars, and I found this one to be average. The prices were extortionate! I had a cocktail and it was £14, and the glass was only half full, it lasted me 10 mins.

Just had a really disappointing experience in this ‘cocktail’ bar. Looked more like student union bar. Not only is the cocktail menu on a Sunday limited to 8 or so cocktails the two we had were neither special or experimental! The waiting staff couldn’t have been less bothered. They were scruffily dressed and very uninterested in service. Our two mediocre cocktails were priced at £13.00 each. TOTAL BILL £29.60 with service charge???

Fantastic little bar, as with many other reviews, a rather subtle door in Chinatown. A fantastic concise well put together menu, with some cocktails with great twists. Was using CODE app which the bartenders happily deducted from the bill - will definitely be back.

Gemütliche silent Bar, für Londoner Verhältnisse hat man hier wirklich noch Platz und ein angenehmes Ambiente. Die Cocktails sind tatsächlich sehr experimentell, teurer, aber dafür auch wirklich interessant im Geschmack, einen Abstecher kann man hier in jedem Falle machen.

It has a hidden entrance. Even with the map I walked past it. Once you are in, the first question is „do you have a reservation?“. Could be more welcoming if you don’t have a reservation! It’s very dark but it goes with the ambience! The waitress greeted us but walked past, however a guy took care of us. He took our order and found us a place to sit. Cocktails are expensive but tasty. You get some still water with cucumber. Good for a quick stop before going out!

Had a fantastic night here, the staff were on top form, the atmosphere was amazing and the drinks were top notch, if you can find it.....(hidden gem) then go for an amazing experience!!! Perfecto!

The low lights, piped music and speakeasy atmosphere are appealing. It kind if feels illegal even if it's not. But why oh why are the drinks so expensive . . . £10-15 a go! Maybe this is their way of attracting a crowd fir whom money is no object. The entrance stairs are seedy and grubby; again, perhaps that's by design. The cocktails were unimpressive and tiny in volume. The staff were efficient and polite.

We had a map. We had a map app on our iPhones, we walked up and down Gerrard Street in Chinatown several times. Alas, we could not find anything resembling a bar – I guess that is the essence of a Speakeasy. Finally, we asked someone in a small Chinese corner store who then pointed us to a narrow, plain green door – and voila, success! Experimental Cocktail Club is distributed over two narrow floors and serves about 15 unique cocktails. They also offer some classics prepared with rare vintage ingredients, and this is reflected in extremely steep prices (i.e., in excess of 100 pounds). We therefore stuck to their less expensive in-house creations which were all excellent, and some of which included unusual ingredients such as mustard (perhaps hence the terms “experimental” in the bar’s name). The establishment accepts reservations, but apparently sets aside half of its seats for walk-ins. Given its location, Experimental Cocktail Club is a great place for drinks before or after a West end show/theater performance.

My friend and I came here before going to see a show. When we arrived the staff were so friendly and we thought we'd found a nice little hidden gem. We asked the barman for a rum based cocktail, to which the tumbler glass was half full with ice filled to the top! Considering it's got cocktail in the name of the place I wasn't wowd at all by the cocktails. We left feeling totally deflated and robbed of £28 for two drinks which took about two minutes to drink.

Terrible bar and one of the worst experience I have been through. Ordered 3 drinks and the barman kept asking me for my order, about 3 times. While he was preparing my drink, some lady behind the bar (I assume some manager of some kind) whispered into his ear and they both gave us an unwelcoming look. Barman gave me 2 drinks instead of 3 and without a mixer. We were charged for 3 drinks before we even received them. I politely asked the barman what the issue is and he simply just said "I forgot", after asking me 3 times for my order. We left without drinking them as we felt we were treated unfairly. NEVER GO THERE, there are tons of other bars in London which are much more friendlier and welcoming

Went for cocktails on Saturday. As you are let in the unmarked door and up the seedy looking stairs, my wife was feeling horrified as to where i had taken her. However once upstairs she loved it. Great drinks and music. We had a table on the second the floor. Despite other comments we found the staff very helpful and charming. the drinks are quite expensive, but we also had cocktails elsewhere before dinner and they were the same price, so assume going rate for smaller more stylish establishments in London.

Some really cool cocktails, place is hidden away but must try if you can get to it! Staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. Had four different cocktails and they were all delightful. It is expensive but you're paying for the quality and the expertise so it's worth it!

En cocktailbar utöver det vanliga. Den är liten med gamla lite slitna möbler. Svår att hitta om du inte vet vad du söker då du inte finner någon reklam utanför. Utan helt enkelt en anspråkslös dörr. Väl där inne känns det, trots den slitna miljön, lite exklusivt. Det är tyst och lugnt, känns långt från gatans myller. Drinkarna är mycket goda och de som serverar kan sin sak. Ett minus är att det är dyrt. Inga turistpriser alls. Men vill man lyxa en kväll på en Londonvistelse så är det väl värt en slant.

Även om du vet adressen är risken stor att du missar denna pärla. En trappa upp bakom en helt anonym dörr mitt i Chinatown ligger denna härligt mystiska cocktailbar. Ett av dessa ställen du är glad att du besökt.Var här en fredag, ändå var musiken på en behaglig samtalsnivå. Och drinkarna - jag säger bara, lägg bort gamla GT eller whiskyn. Prova istället de drinkar man rekommenderar, du kommer inte ångra dig. Ett blivande stamställe.

Perhaps the drinks tasted better because of the 'hunt' to find the ECC... because the ones we had were the best cocktails we'd had for years. Arriving at opening on Sunday evening probably helped on the speed of service - the waiter knew all about the drinks and advised us well. I never would have chosen the Petit Pois without it being recommended. I look forward to my next visit ... especially now I know where exactly in Chinatown it is!

Been a long time since my last visit. I used to love the drinks in tea cups...but the cocktails are still quality even in a glass!! Unfortunately had a bad experience with staff on a friend's bday night and it made the night go down the hill. I would expect the staff to be more pleasant and helpful on a quiet night (Tuesday).

Speakeasy with an illicit vibe and cool underground decor. Staff are friendly and welcoming and fit in with the look and feel of the venue. Cocktails are lethal and not cheap but very tasty and strong. Because it's a cocktail bar it can take some time for the staff to make them but hey are worth the wait. The venue can be a bit too loud and chilly and hard to find but it's a fun experience.

Intéressée par les speakeasy, j'ai eu l'occasion de tester plusieurs d'entre eux à Londres. Nous nous sommes rendus au E.C.C. Chinatown un samedi en tout début de soirée et n'avons pas été déçu par l'entrée. Celui-ci répond déjà très bien à la définition d'un bar caché : aucune enseigne apparente, aucune quelconque indication, seulement un homme attendant devant une porte... Une fois à l'intérieur, c'est avec joie que nous arrivons dans un bar très classieux ; canapés en cuir, banquettes, petites tables etc, sur deux étages. Quant à la carte des cocktails, celle-ci semblait très prometteuse. Cependant mon cocktail n'était pas des plus pertinents, on ne sentait pas la moitié des ingrédients pourtant inscrit sur la carte... Dommage.P.S. : attention au dress code.

The only thing that indicates there is a bar here is the man standing outside an unmarked door - no password is required. You go up the stairs and enter into what I imagine an opium den would have looked like in the 19th century, minus the smokey haze. The music was in juxtaposition to the venue but helped lift the atmosphere, although it was a little loud. The ingredients in the cocktails sound very experimental, hence the name of the bar, but they compliment each other very well - who'd have thought a garlic liquor could work in any cocktail but somehow it does. We took out-of-towners here, and they commented on how they have never been somewhere so trendy, and in such an unexpected location in the middle of China town. When going back down the stairs and into the street, you come to appreciate how far removed the bar is from the hustle and bustle of London.

Having spent some walking past the door multiple times without even realising and with a little detective working with my mate google, we finally found the door... You literally would not have a clue that behind this shabby non-descript door, squished between a Chinese shop and restaurant would lead to one of London’s hidden bars.After finding what we believed to be the entrance we gave it a few knocks and then a short wait later the door opened and we were let upstairs to the mirrored ceiling, low bar area with its bare brick walls.We visited just after 6pm as a pre-theatre treat and were kindly greeted by the bar staff and were offered anywhere to sit, I believe it is reservation only 90% of the time but being 6pm on a Monday it was a great time to visit.First off you are offered some refreshing cucumber water on the house while you then peruse the fine list of designer cocktails, now I am not a cocktail pro so a lot of what was on offer was a little over my head in respect to what I thought they may taste like.However, if needed the staff were on hand to offer suggestions based on your personal tastes and so on so if worried by the list just ask and they are very helpful.This is not a cheap bar by any means cocktails are around £13 plus going up to £200 for some of the signature vintage cocktails and beers around £6.5 a bottle, oh and they have a cheeky service charge also added on which we didn’t know about which I’d rather have not paid but still we had a great time.But if you're looking for something really fun, funky and hugely different then your standard cocktail joint then this is the place.

I just love this place, located very central in china town it offers a small and comfortable interior on different floors. Cocktails are top, also the service knows literally everything about them. Can't wait to get back, if you're into experimental cocktails you have to check this place!

Stopped in in May on the recommendation of our concierge. The drinks were tasty, but overpriced. It seems to be trying too hard, and to capture a tourist clientele. Admittedly we got there "early" but was expecting something more, and something more exciting.

The only cool thing about this speakeasy is that it's actually hidden in Chinatown. Otherwise nothing impressed us. The service was mediocre and drinks were ok but nothing great. For cocktail bars in London I suggest trying Nightjar, Mr. Fogg's Gin Parlour, The Punch Room, or The American Bar at The Savoy Hotel - don't waste your time at ECC.

Took the team here for a few drinks before dinner in Chinatown, which this place is smack in the middle of. Nice that you have to book so can reserve a seating area. Some great cocktails and good service. They even turned the music down a little when we asked.Would recommend for a slightly more sophisticated pre-chinese drink than going to the pub.

a well hidden cocktail bar gem in Sohoalmost missed the place when passing by, the door not really welcoming, but after you get sitted it is amazing: the romatinc a bit alchemic ambiance here, the deco and blacked out windows, the people here and the CoCkTaIls :)

Where to begin? This place is barely a bar, it's obviously a converted house and it's tiny. Myself and some friends went on Friday night and we couldn't move. God knows why it's so packed because you'll need to remortgage your house to buy a drink. Even by London standards this place takes the biscuit, I ordered two vodka lemonades and was charged £27. That's TWENTY SEVEN POUNDS. For two drinks. TWO. What a waste of money and a downer on an otherwise fun evening. Needless to say we left straight away after realising we didn't want to waste more cash. If you're happy to spend the money, there are plenty of nicer, better and more spacious cocktail bars in central London, don't waste your time and give this place a wide birth.

First, you will have to search to find this place. There are no markings or signs telling you if your close or where the bar actually is. You simply have the address. You will eventually realize that 13A must be the unmarked door between 12 and 13B. Some people have said they were charged an entry fee. We did not encounter this. However, we did not come on a weekend. You walk up a staircase and into a dimly lit bar which makes you feel like your in some secret club in the heart of the Prohibition Era. Really cool concept. Music is not club loud but its also not classical background music either. Be prepared for a little noise. The drinks themselves were delicious works of art. Truly unique cocktails that you won't see on menus elsewhere. The only complaint I had was price. The drinks are over 10 pounds each. Average price was about 13 pounds I think. Thats a bit high in my opinion. However, definitely a unique experience in a really cool concept bar. You won't want to drink here daily with the prices as high as they are but if you happen to be in Chinatown or close stop by!

We didn't have much time in London but we went there after reading great reviews of this place is. There was an entry fee of 5 pound per person which seemed rather like a bad start. It was crowded and super busy and despite stretching over three floors, there was barely any space to stand and enjoy a drink without having people bumping into you all the time.Having said that the drinks were really good. The down side though was the price. For two drinks we paid almost 36 EUR. On top of that, girl behind the bar who was taking orders had no idea who ordered what so it was chaos when it came to serving.Will not visit again because it's just an average place with overpriced menu.

I came to ECC last Saturday, it was kind of busy, and the cocktails were ok. What was really unacceptable is that they asked me to open a tab. At the end of my drink, I pay my credit card. I discover a few days after that they also took 10 pounds using the contactless... Of course this wasn't deducted on the bill.Clearly unacceptable.The bar is ok, but not worth the hype.

A cool place hidden behind a discreet door in China town, you walk into ECC up a flight of stairs. Which I took my sister and husband too in Apr recently. Like other reviews the cocktails are expensive (£12-15), however they are very good. The place is dimly lit and can at times get crowded. But this is a cocktail bar in central London. Would I go again? Possibly not. But that is because there are so many places to go in London. Is it somewhere I would recommend. Yes. Probably more suited for a couple on a date as you need to sit pretty close to hear each other talking! (Probably showing my age - anyone recommend any cocktail bars with quiet music???)

Nachdem wir im letzten Jahr zu Viert am Türsteher gescheitert waren, hatten wir dieses Mal zu Zweit mehr Glück.Obwohl wir zur Sicherheit noch vorgängig Reserviert hatten (max. 2 Wochen im Voraus möglich), haben wir ohne weiteres sofort Einlass erhalten.Der kleine Club ist schön eingerichtet, die Bar an sich nimmt jedoch schon sehr viel Platz im Raum ein. Dazu gibt es noch einen zweiten Stock.Die Auswahl der Cocktails beschränkt sich auf wechselnde Eigenkreationen, welche als Basis hauptsächlich Gin und Rumbeinhalten. Bekannte klassische Cocktails sind eher weniger zu finden. Von der Qualität und Originalität her sind die Cocktails jedoch eher mässig. Wer noch nicht viele Cocktailbars besucht hat, wird hier sicherlich gut bedient sein. Ansonsten sind in London andere Alternativen zu empfehlen.

Cocktails were good, and an interesting selection.However, music too loud, chairs and tables too low so made for an uncomfortable experience. The waitress seemed to get annoyed at me because she misheard me when I said I'd pay at the end. Not sure why she brought me the bill before we'd even had our drinks. £30 for two cocktails. All in all better cocktail bars in London than this.

The outside of the bar looks like a secret venue out of a film. Nestled in the heart of China Town, highly unexpected...The vibe is great with a wide range of cocktails you have never seen before. Price is hefty and it can get a bit hot, but the experience is well worth it.LOVE the hidden element. Makes it a special night out.

A speak easy of sorts, friends recommended the ECC to us and we had to find it! Located in the middle of Chinatown you just have to look hard for 13a.....the cocktails won't disappoint you. Although prices aren't cheap you will truly appreciate the bartending and array of classic cocktails including some real vintage treats!

We came here without a reservation and where shown 2 tables: 1 that was a tiny table in the corner at the top of the stairs and another tiny one, which we took. We ordered 2 cocktails - an old fashioned and a mojito. Both were not great. The mojito tasted like it was full of soda water and the old fashioned had too much ice and not made properly. Both were at a price of £13 each - definitely not worth it.

Had to high expectations as we had heard a lot about this place before coming. It was an ok but rather ordinary bar in 2 floors with yummi bubbles but rather small and pricy drinks.

Stopped by 3 times this week with overseas friends but each time doorman says no reservation no entry despite the website clearly stating reservation not necessary as half is kept for walk in customers. Our visits weren't late but not long after opening.Door staff attitude sucks and too busy on their phones. I've been many times before but I won't bother again. Drink service takes too long and this kind of attitude makes it non appealing.
