Had the absolute displeasure of eating at the establishment today. The food was cold, poorly presented and over priced. Some staff were abrupt. When my food was serviced a receipt was already on the side of the meal but removed and bin. I would not recommend and never return

I have been to Cafe concerto in other London locations a few times before but this is the first time I’m giving a review even before getting table. We were a party of 3 adults and 4 kids hoping to have coffee for the adults and cakes for the kids on a Monday afternoon. The arrogant person at the reception made us wait only to come back and say he will give us a table but we need to make sure 7 drinks and 7 dishes had to be ordered to allow the table. The tone was rude and racist. I just stormed out and was happy I did not fall into the trap. I will never recommend this spot. A proper tourist trap in central London trying to skim as much money as possible from customers.

Service is terrible- sadly the Odette was not delivered but we were charged for it when we asked for the missing item we received attitude- this is the one branch never come here

The person giving directions at the entrance was unfriendly. The server in charge was also unfriendly. Bring me food, bring me a knife, bring me a fork, and I’ll take it. The pancakes were all cold so I only ate the fruit. I went in because it looked pretty and had the worst cafe experience in London!! After reading the recent review, I hope no one goes there happy holidays outside here!^^ I paid the bill excluding the service charge and left. Don't pay service tax

%25 discretionary charge for quite poor service? People were so rude and the cake they bring was in plastics. They didn't bother to take it out and make the service more nicely. Don't pay %25 bs charge here and even better avoid from here. Never again.

Arrived at 11:45 today, Boxing Day, Multiple tables open inside. We were a table of 2. The person managing the “wait to be seated sign” - was exceptionally rude. “no tables” inside and we were not offered an alternative to sit outside. Concerto management need to fire the door guy! Really bad attitude. Pity we were not able to try what looks like great food. Welcome to London.

We stopped here to have cake and coffee. As a greeting we were told that everyone in our group should order something to eat and drink… The cakes and drinks were generally not bad, but were very overpriced. But we accepted it at that point because you pay for the location. The big surprise came at the end with the bill, when a “discretionary fee” of 25% was charged. No go!

Pros: - Cons: Crepe smell egg + Flat White was bad; tasted water and milk + Chocolate Eclair wasn’t fresh; totally dried + It took ages a staff found out I ask for the bill and when I did, took years to bring it! + Mandatory 25% discretionary charge for such quality

Worst dessert and afternoon tea I have ever had. They use margarin instead of butter. That’s so gross and it’s so overpriced. How could the price same as a 5 star hotel afternoon tea with such bad dessert, tea and untensil they used. Everything looks very cheap.

One of the best cakes I’ve had in London. Came to get my sisters birthday cake last minute and they were so helpful. Staff were great and the cake was AMAZING!

We came to Caffè Concerto, Covent Garden for afternoon tea today and were pleased with the ambience and desserts. We received a cold welcome from staff when we shared our reservation, who were a bit rude and almost refused us entry despite having a pre-booked reservation!! 🤦🏾‍♂️ Overall though, we were highly disappointed by the hot chocolate which was very bland and the Winter Tea which had cloves and fruits that needed to be removed before drinking. The waiter shared multiple other hot drinks that we could try but unfortunately we didn’t have time. The pink mousse cake was delicious though, with a white chocolate fondant and rich sponge, buttercream and strawberry filling. We enjoyed the ambience thoroughly though, more than the food. Overall, it was an ok experience.

I went to this restaurant for dinner with my fiancé and our little one, expecting a great experience based on how it looked from the outside. The desserts on display appeared delicious, and the service seemed promising at first glance. Unfortunately, everything fell apart the moment we stepped inside. Upon entering, a man asked if we were there for dinner or dessert. I said dinner, and instead of offering any assistance, he walked us to a table and left us to fend for ourselves. Despite having a baby in a trolley, no effort was made to accommodate us. The table was set with four chairs, and no one helped us make space for the trolley. We had to rearrange everything ourselves, even removing chairs to fit. The food arrived in 15 minutes, which was excellent , but it was extremely disappointing for the price. My spaghetti, costing £20, was completely flavorless, and my partner had the different dish with the same lackluster result. Throughout the meal, the waitress never checked in to see if we needed anything or if the food was okay. Hoping desserts would redeem the experience, we ordered some – but they were even worse. For £8 each, they tasted awful and were not worth the price. To top it all off, I was charged £11 for service, which was abysmal, and the total bill came to £100 for two people. Overall, this was an awful dining experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Returned for a 3rd time in 2 months . Worst experience, the other 2 times the experience was much better . No ice cream told by waiter go over the road as they hadn't had ice cream for a week ! Would've liked the apple pie again but didn't bother ordering any food. Floors filthy..toilets filthy. Eyes rolled by staff member when I asked for a clean teaspoon as one given had food on it! Won't be coming back..

The food and the place are absolutely amazing but the waiters were overstretched despite the fact that the top floor was not occupied and in particular the maitre who was there yesterday was so rude that virtually was not inviting people in and we nearly left but as I have been at the Caffe before I was undeterred but he was absolutely shocking.

An absolute disgrace! Waited ten minutes to get in despite being booked in advanced. No one took our drink order after 15 minutes. So had to flag someone down. Starters came after half an hour, my mussels were nearly all closed, my partners “Brushetta” was garlic bread with cheese and a bit of grated onion. I was given another bowl of mussels (5 to be exact) 🙄 Food not cleared after 45 mins. Tables all around us now complaining and after an hour I asked for the bill because no main meal had come. Gives us the bill and they tried to charge us for mains we didn’t have. After back and forward numerous times they “only” charged us £32 for poor food awful service and kept the service charge on. All the while the manager is trying to seat more people despite staff loosing the plot and not being able to cope. Meant to be our anniversary so thank you Cafe Concerto for an awful awful experience.

I have been to two branches of this brand, and in both there are the same flaws that should be taken into account by management: - The service is disorganized. They incorrectly tell them which table each order corresponds to, so sometimes they take one's order to another table. Plus, sometimes it takes time from the time the order waits at the counter to being brought to the table (I've seen it happen), so it's not surprising when a coffee arrives cold. - Because of the above, it also happens that the order is not always loaded correctly, so something different than what was requested arrives and creates an unnecessary bad moment. - Prices are not expensive for the location and quality of the food

Visited for breakfast. On arrival we were “greeted” by a server who obviously didn’t want to be there stuck us on an awkward table by a cupboard despite there being numerous empty tables around . We made the decision to move to a better table but then were ignored for ages. Food was cold when it came…the toast wasn’t toasted just hot bread really by the time anyone came near us again as they seemed to avoid our gaze it was pointless complaining as it was too late . However I did mention to another server my chips were stone cold when they came but we were about to leave by then. The bill was expensive for the quality of the food we had and they added a service charge to the bill for the worst service we experienced in London. Avoid at all costs there are so many other places to eat rather than this chain

Very expensive flavourless coffee, hot chocolate was like pure sugar and not much chocolate, cakes are mass produced and the fruit tart had little flavour apart from fake cheap cream. Lesson learnt and we won’t return

I had a delightful breakfast at Caffè Concerto! The ambiance was elegant and welcoming, with soft music and a lovely setup. I ordered the classic English breakfast, which was perfectly cooked, with fresh eggs, crispy bacon, and delicious sausage. The cappuccino coffee was very good . The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring everything was to my liking. It’s the perfect spot for starting your day on a high note, whether you're looking for a hearty meal or just a light breakfast with coffee. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!

Really beautiful, I went yesterday whit my husband it was outstanding, wonderful atmosphere, the service was spectacular, all the staff were polite and helpful, the waiter Alex was so kind whit us, even assisted us whit a hing chair for our toddler, drinks and food very tasty. I wish i could rate this place -10 I usually give second chances and thats what i have done with this place . It gorgeous from outside but trust me its deserts and food are rubbish. The liquor coffee was without liquor the plate was dirty , food un tasty and deserts were far from fresh and the velvet cake came with a disgusting touch of a hair in it. Service is bad , with long waiting times and very ignorant staff. Places like cafe concerto give london a bad reputation in hospitality. I will never again get in any of their stores .

My partner and I went for a drink today, but we were told we couldn't sit outside unless we ordered more than just drinks. It felt like they were telling us to either spend more or go away, which was very rude. We won’t be returning for food or drinks, and I certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone. I would give 0 stars if there was an option.

I recently visited Caffè Concerto in Covent Garden, and I must say, the experience was absolutely delightful! From the moment we walked in, the warm and elegant atmosphere set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Our waiter, Alex from Brazil, went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. His friendly demeanor, attentiveness, and genuine enthusiasm made us feel incredibly welcome. Alex had a fantastic knowledge of the menu and offered excellent recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Every detail, from ensuring our drinks were always topped up to checking in without being intrusive, was handled with perfection. The food and drinks were superb as well—beautifully presented and full of flavor. But what truly set this experience apart was Alex’s impeccable service. His cheerful attitude and professionalism truly elevated the entire experience. If you’re visiting Covent Garden, I can’t recommend Caffè Concerto enough, and if you’re lucky enough to have Alex as your waiter, you’re in for a treat!

Beautiful location, but the afternoon tea was very disappointing. For the price we paid, we expected something much better.

We had the vegetarian afternoon tea for 2. It's ok for the experience, but we wouldn't go there again. Tarts were only sweet, otherwise rather meaningless. Sandwiches bland, rather tasteless. Scones, however, were delicious. Overall portion is more than sufficient. Staff was nice.

Three of us went in for a coffee and cake after our dinner around 8 pm on friday night. It looked like they were short staffed. The service was very slow, from ordering to receiving our drinks, to even getting our bill. We requested 3 times for our bill. Both waiters acknowledged us, but were busy clearing tables and kept forgetting. We finally got our bill after 20 mins. I would like to try a different branch next time.

Considering we spent £60 on coffee, the fact they wouldn’t allow us to eat 3 donuts is absolutely ridiculous. Couple that with the fact I had to remind them to take our order twice. Abysmal

Awful experience: extremely slow service, extremely low quality. The hit chocolates tatsed like sewage water. One of us asked for substitution because the mug was visibly stained by purple lipstick (you could see the whole lower lip of the previous customer). How disgusting! The manager snapped at us saying "After 500 customers it can happen" rudely and resented, showing how the management is soooo below standard (aka the manager is incompetent). NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!

We really enjoyed or spontaneous lunch here! Satish, our server, was very attentive and friendly - we would 100% return based on the customer service alone. As for the food? We were blown away with the freshness and quality. All in all 5/5!

The carrot cake was delightful and very filling. Perfect balance between frosting and the cake. I got the basic hot chocolate and it was delightful. My waiter vitor was a gentleman and really quick at service. At the moment this place is magical with the Christmas lights.

Visited on Saturday for the second time .The restaurant looks spectacular and classy from the outside but the classiness soon disappears when you enter. The lady host had a bad attitude and didn’t look at us and just threw the menus on the table expecting us to follow and sit down. We would have left there and then if my wife hadn’t have been tired and wanted to eat. None of the staff seemed particularly happy and I would have expected more from a place charging £15 for a glass of wine and expensive food. Our first visit wasn’t much better but we tried again but won’t be visiting again. John Fairfield

Not great. We were seated at a table in a corner, next to a cupboard door. On several occasions, staff came to open the door and at the same time asked me to move over. The coupons were asked for by two employees, who took photos of them. Then we were disturbed again and asked to take a photo of a coupon one last time. No communication, no organization. However, the staff are friendly. But not great for a gift. Dishes scratched. The pastries were decent, though very sweet. Savory mignardises were ok. Pretty in appearance but not in quality. So I'd say it's a pretty place in appearance, but not qualitative in service. Better to pay more for a more traditional afternoon tea.

We went for coffee and waited more than half an hour for order . Finally they took order and forgot to give flat bread. When we asked another waiter he said it’s not on the system. After an hour we managed to catch waitresse called Henal who initially took our order. We asked we ordered flat bread and no one gave us by saying it’s not on the system. Instead of saying sorry she started to argue it’s on the system upstairs but not downstairs. When we said we are about to leave can we please have our bill please then she just said sorry. I think they should focus on giving good service

He literally said “yehh..your order wasn’t put through do you still want it- after waiting for 50 minutes- not even a simple ‘Sorry- we will fix this”! He double checked the girl took our order (everyone seen when she did it including other staff members), and when he asked why she didn’t put our order through- she just shook her shoulders and lied she didn’t take it. In front of us, she just disrespectfully lied, while our table nr and order were in her notes 💀. Mistakes can happen and we were gonna just look past it, a simple sorry would have been great and getting the order made quickly would of solved the problem ..but she looked us dead in the eyes and just lied she didn’t rake it💀and proceeded to give us weird looks. Super weird, extremely unfriendly and uncomfortable environment. Just weird and sketchy. A cheaper pub can give you better service than this

We entered and the lady with the red hair spoke over us to serve the group behind us - we did not feel welcomed into your establishment. We had pink hot chocolate (which was just warm pink coloured milk). I initially received an inch of drink with a lot of cream. After complaining I received a nicer looking drink, still tasted like just milk though. This should have never been served. After finishing a server came over with a panicked customer who pointed across my sister’s face coming close to hitting her, thankfully my sister saw and pulled away. We won’t be returning and I regret paying full price.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at your Covent Garden location on November 13, 2024. Unfortunately, my visit did not meet the standards I expected. We visited the cafe during a non-peak hour, yet I was asked to wait in line for 10 minutes before being seated. After being seated, it took another 18 minutes for a server to take our order. This extended wait was frustrating, especially considering it was not a busy time. The situation worsened when, 8 minutes after ordering, we were informed that the pizza we had chosen could not be prepared. It was disappointing to wait so long, only to be told our selection was unavailable. I believe such situations could be handled with more transparency and efficiency, especially during less busy hours, by promptly notifying customers about unavailable items or ensuring faster service. I hope this feedback helps improve the quality of service at your restaurant.

Unprofessional staff and unclear menu options. We were looking forward to trying some of their dairy-free (vegan) options clearly listed both on the PDF menu on their website and on the outdoor menu board. It turned out that they didn't have those options, so we asked if we could have the vegetarian pizza without cheese instead, but the server initially refused this request saying that would be "not good" and started recommending some options that seemed to contain dairy. He looked somewhat annoyed and we didn't want to bother him anymore so we thought of leaving without ordering anything, but he then agreed to serve us the pizza without cheese. Later he came back to tell us they actually had a vegan cheese alternative. The pizza we eventually got was topped with something that tasted very much like traditional parmesan and for this reason we are honestly not 100% sure if it was actually vegan, but we do appreciate their effort to accommodate our dietary needs (we are only mildly intolerant to dairy anyway). That said, I wouldn't recommend this place if you absolutely need to avoid dairy (or any other ingredient) for health reasons.

Perfect casual place to get that high tea vibe. The place gets really busy in the afternoon so might be good to get a reservation.

I popped in for a morning breakfast, it was amazing. Shout out to the chefs, eggs and tomato cooked to perfection but my whole experience started by getting greeted by Nikhil he was extremely polite, he gave me a wicked recommendations and I can fully say he knows his menu and his customers very well. I would highly recommend, vegetarian option is halal as well so you can’t go wrong. I will see you guys soon !!?

High prices for average food and service. The quaint interior is something different.

At first we thought It looked overprized, but the coffees were really good and the scones soft and warm. But actually, the best of It all was Abdel, he spoke to us in spanish and he was really funny!!

Disappointing for the price you pay. The pistachio cake didn’t taste like pistachio and the tiramisu had an unpleasant gelatine texture. The classy interior was was misleading in that only the high prices reflected this ambience and left the cafe with little else to offer.

I came in today with the wife for afternoon tea and I was greeted by a member of staff called hasan, he was very welcoming and kind, he was able to help me pick what I wanted from the menu, big thank you to hasan and cafe concerto for giving me and my wife such a pleasant experience, will definitely come here again

Terrible service, staff are not helpful and clearly don’t want to be there, you can see the manager that was there on the day we visited, treated the staff poorly. The drinks came well before the cakes and were cold by the time the cakes did finally arrive. The chocolate éclair was completely stale and was inedible, I sent it back. I was offered another, so it looked like they intended to continue selling them stale or not. The experience was definitely not worth the price for the poor quality of food and service. As a customer, I could see a croissant that had been dropped on the floor in the main area of the Caffè and it had been kicked around several times by customers entering the premises....staff members just walked by it un-noticed ! If that's how front of house operates, I wonder what behind the scenes is like ? We definately wont be returning. Not recommended.

Milanesata: old industrial food, they don't have decent service, who got the order wrong. A Rossini made with poor quality prosecco. Rejected.

Don't go. It's absolutely awful. The food used to be good but now is simply a mishmash of cheap ingredients priced outrageously expensive. I had the tricolore salad. It was £19. It was 5 slices if tomato, if I'm being generous, a quarter of an avocado, and 4 tiny pieces of mozzarella. The rest of the plate was rocket. My husband had the turkey with vegetables. There was a complete mishmash of vegetables including pieces of chilli. I think we'll avoid café concerto in future. It's Saturday early evening in Covent Garden and their entire top floor is empty. You have to go through it to get to the dirty toilets.

Always amazing food and beverages at Caffè Concerto no matter the branch. Food was amazing and the variety is large with loads to choose from. Would highly recommend the muscles, the spaghetti bolognaise and any of the ciabatta sandwiches. All very delicious options. Would also recommend the strawberry lemonade as is an amazing drink. Menu is a bit on the pricier side but worth it. Service is lovely and food and drinks both came out very quickly. Was very impressed and will definitely be going back. Would recommend!

Magnificent place, the food is very good despite the rather high prices. The atmosphere is very nice and the place is well located!

We went with the children after seeing the English mounted guard, the typical photo that we all want to take. Well, on the same street that leads to Trafalgar we found this restaurant, honestly we did not have very high expectations and even more so with children, well I must say that I was very very very happy that I had to come to London to eat some impressive spaghetti with pesto, for me one of the best I've ever eaten, generous portions and at a normal price (be careful for London, we already know that everything is expensive) to say that we will repeat without a doubt. Good atmosphere, good treatment and very very clean. I couldn't take photos of the food, we were so hungry that I didn't think about taking them he he he he.

Went it for their afternoon tea and asked for empty plates and got a dirty plate and wet plate. The European lady staff has a bad attitude and she keeps checking her make up in the cafe’s mirror. The Indian staff was very nice, very polite, good service.
