So just had my order delivered and must admit the food is very poor. I ordered egusi and pounded yam. Absolutely awful. Money wasted! Last time

I didn’t know what actual meat there will be so I think there was goat or lamb and I hate them so I didnt have any meat which also ruined the soup for me as it tasted of that meat

(1st ever visit) My friend had Jollof rice with Goat meat, a small portion of Gizzard and Meat pie. I had Pounded Yam & Efo Riro with Assoted Meat (I also had Jollof rice to takeaway). This was my first time trying it & honestly I was impressed. The portions are big & I couldn’t finish but it was worth it. The customer service was good too. However, the door doesn’t close properly so I do recommend wearing something warm. Also, the menu’s and their own computer system have different prices so definitely check up on that one as my friend was overcharged a few pounds (was fixed in the end though). Will definitely be coming back :) Update: (2nd picture) I went back a few times after this visit. Since then, they’ve had a change in cooks which shows 100% in the meal portions , taste + customer service. I ordered jollof rice + goat meat and was given two piece of meat… which is a huge difference to what was given to us during the first visit. I’ve always ordered extra stew on the side, because I’ve noticed the meal didn’t come with alot of stew anyway. I was charged £4 the last time I went, which I was confused as prior to this I’ve never been charged. The chef was very ignorant and rude about this and basically dismissed me out the shop for speaking up and saying something. I haven’t been back there since but I’ve seen that this post had been viewed by thousands of people and I thought you all deserved an update.

Exotic Cuisine is an African restaurant serving delightful Nigerian cuisines in a Nigerian setting. The shop comes alive in the evenings into an urban lounge where you can listen to cool music while you unwind. I visited on a Friday and I had small Guinness stout and Suya. A true Nigerian taste in the heart of Northampton. You bet I'll be visiting again soon.

Excellent food and service and really affordable too. Great African music and the decor is really cool too. Makes you want to keep coming back. I’d recommend 10/10. I really felt at home eating there, great place!

Nice place. Good African music. you feel at home. U could pass and not know something is going on there. I was served stale food one evening and as well as a padded bill, that was later corrected. The chicken was old and really offset my system. . . U feel at home but the food wasn't so great so I stopped turning up. But the place is OK. They do Clubbing and all at weekends. And there's a snooker board there.

Good customer service; timely food preparation - I was told it would take 20 mins to prepare my order and it was ready in about that time; the food was sweet and the of high standard. Kudos 👍

Meat had no flavour and was very chewy and dry. Didn't even taste like beef.

Fish was stale and extremely cold.please don't serve left over food from the previous day you need to meet health and safety standards. County council need to visit your premises

I loved it soooooooooo much! I had amala, gbegiri, Ewedu and palm wine while my friend had eba and egusi soup and it was soooooooooooo good. The portions were very generous. Spot the second half of my amala that i.just couldn't finish. The goat meat was soft and succulent and I generally just had a blast with this one. The waiting time however was a bit too long so thst is something they can definitely work on. I would definitely be recommending this place and coming back again.

The only issue is with the delivery charges £5 is a bit much as l live quite nearer. Thank you

I will not be ordering from this place again, the service was very poor and the food was very bad. I had waited an hour for my food to arrive and as well it was very late. The food spilled in the bag on the arrival causing the oil from the food to be leaking and also staining my clothing which I was very unhappy about. The product and the food itself was not nice, the meat was undercooked, the rice had no flavour.

I was very disappointed, I travelled from Luton which took me almost an hour . When I got there I had to wait over 40 minute for my food and to be honest it was not worth the wait . It was not worth the money , my energy and it was not even that good . I ordered fried rice and it was socking in oil . It was very disgusting the oil can be used to fry fish and there will be enough left .

Not good! Our okra with goat meat had a lotttttttttttt of fish in it and it does not mention anywhere that it has fish. I personally don't like fish and my partner is allergic to fish so it was a total waste off money, They need to mention if it has fish. The delivery was also late.

Delivery brought the wrong order 20 minutes late then collected wrong order went away and came back with correct order - overall 45 minutes late and stone cold. After warming up in microwave it was okay.

Have to pay for your parking if not you will be charged by the ticket master. Toilets not great in this place . Food was ok but not a great service .

The egusi soup is so delicious among other delicacies offered there.

Food was tasty and portions a fantastic size. the chef was friendly polite and happy to help, couldnt do enough, his daughter was there also a pleasure to have in thr establishment, the bar mans english was poor unfortunately although he did try his best. The place itself could do with a deep clean. its sticky and tacky outdate decor, and the toilets the less said about them the better...... would go again because of the chef, although the surroundings need throughly cleaning.

Takes more than a couple of minutes to get your food, but definitely worth the wait. I'd highly recommend the suya as it has such an authentic 'street food' taste to it. A++ all the way!

Quantities were small, quality was mixed. The yam was awful (I think it was bad, virtually inedible) but the beans very tasty. Not good value for money.

I still didn't get my moin moin owed from a previous order except I only ordered one eba for two soups and they put in an extra eba for free so they are completely forgiven.

My food was an really late. Ordered at 1925 and was delivered at 22:00. Not really good service tbh because they didn't even bother calling me as a matter or courtesy and letting me know.

Ordered efiriro with pounded, that was nice as well as ayamashi and rice. Very disappointed very small portion of aymash sauce very miniature saki and other random meats when I asked for fried meat only. However when I've gone in there in person to collect previous phone orders it's been good portions and they had followed instructions.

Found the jolloff to spicy and I can eat very spicy food. Meat was dry with no seasoning and only two pieces. I'll carry on going Naaimis for my jollof, with sufficent pieces on boneless beef, colsaw and a tonne of jollof for £5

Really disappointing, ordered egusi,(they didn't have any) exchanged for efo riro, meat in that meal was extremely tough, couldn't bite through it. Also order yam porridge with shaki, shaki was also really though, also with ponmo has an extra, couldn't eat it because they just boiled it and kept it in a takeaway boil instead of maybe putting it in a stew, extremely frustrated so i called back they were nice enough to send out beef to me(asked for soft protein) but yet again IT WASN'T CHEWABLE. Woke up with 2 sore teeths from trying to bite into the proteins, But The driver and guy I spoke too over the phone was extremely kind about it, just really disappointing with the food, the good level of customer service given should also be put into making the meals. Ordering from here again is really slim....

Egusi soup would be nicer if fresh spinach was used

I brought two red bull but only 1 was delivered.

The portion size takes the mick How can I order plaintain and beans and you bring me 4 thin slices of plaintain. One whole plaintain is about 20p. Like that took the pisss. I'm paying 10 pound for a meal I can cook for like 5£ at least bring acceptable portions.
