Evergreen in Ribble Valley

Do not order their salt and pepper ribs, there are no ribs. It’s filled with uncooked onions and white gristle bits, I normally accept this as one off but it’s got worse each time. My main course I ordered a chicken main course and again it’s full of onions. Very similar to the the starter, it’s not cheap either. Photo is of my ribs if you can find one

Just fancied fish and chips whilst in holiday in Gisburn … wish I hadn’t bothered !! Tiny fish with soggy batter, soggy chips with lots of ‘scraps’ & tastless peas. £7.80!!! If I hadn’t driven miles to get there I would have returned them.

Grim! Menu isn’t clear on prices, different on wall to behind counter ( where they have gone changed prices so many times you can’t even read it!) £6.10 for Schezwan beef and £3.10 for seaweed ( which has always been so overpriced, it’s just deep fried shredded cabbage!!) on the wall which I ordered from. I asked for boiled rice with it. I was told it came to £10.40. Since when did you pay for boiled rice/egg fried rice/ chips with a main meal??!! It always accompanies it doesn’t it! Sooo they produced these dishes within 5 mins! I didn’t understand a word they were saying when they called it out and as it was 5 mins later I presumed it was somebody else’s, they then shouted sarcastically “Hellooo” to me and laughed ( such lovely service, not!) and on opening up when I got home it was Hot but that’s the only positive! One standard gravy used with some chillis through it, mostly tinned veg and fresh carrots and 7 small pieces of meat. Bland and beige. Seaweed was bland too with barely any spice on it. Why oh why... if you are Chinese running a Chinese takeaway would you not sell authentic Chinese food. Never again,I feel sick!

My wife died some 11 years ago, and we often went there, after a decent pint in the Royal Oak, to collect a meal we had ordered before entering the pub. Tonight we could not go into the pub thanks {Ta in Lanky} to Covid. We ordered, went back, after 30 mins, and as in the past we had to wait a few minutes! Different time zone? However, the price was not mega, and the scoff was amazingly excellent! I just wished that I had tried my old favourite, the salt and pepper spare ribs! My son, though handicapped knows his Chinese and his Duck a l'Orange, well with the Evergreen method was excellent. As was my Char Sui , with bean sprouts and other veg, The ladies who served us, often having no doubt to leave with non-gentlemen, such as my sin and I, were patient to an extreme; above and beyond the call... Thankyou!

.We come here many times and you can't better the food,excellent fast service from friendly staff,super well run clean place ,no wonder there is always a que !

Bought a banquet meal. Really good selection. Tasty hot food. Very pleasant staff/service too. Great value. Highly recommended for takeaway Chinese grub!

Usually 3meals are ordered, lately sometimes it’s excellent other times it needs some improvement, service is rather fast , maybe a little more time spent on the cooking and preparation side would benefit the complete order.

I have visited Evergreen many times my favourite dish is special satay pleased to say it’s peanut based like proper satay should be always cooked to perfection. Now I’m on slimming world have chicken in black bean sauce (lowish syns) it’s also lovely. The staff are always very friendly and nice 👍

We don’t visit often, maybe once a year when in the area. They always make a good take away, very friendly family owners. Keep up the great work.

Consistently good food and service. Menu comprehensive and food tastes good. Phone order through and pick up in 10 mins ... Happy days.

Very disappointed with meal this evening, everything was overcooked and tasted like vinegar. We got crispy beef with spicy ok sauce, chips, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken balls. Chips were re- fried and greasy, chicken balls were burnt with dry chewy chicken and crust beef was overcooked and tasteless. Evergreen have lost some customers tonight!

Always good from here. Big menu and friendly people. It's always busy. The fish is large. Expect to queue!

Have been in a couple of times just for fish and chips. Very pleasant service and delicious food. The fish and chips were freshly cooked with a really tasty batter on the fish. Would highly recommend it. They also seemed to be very busy with phone ins for Chinese meals, which is always a good sign. Haven't tried their Chinese food yet, but looking forward to doing so in the near future.

We got a take out from here last Friday and it was absolutely awful. I'd asked how long the food would be when I called to place the order and was told half an hour. I ended up waiting ages and in the end it took nearly an hour. I wouldn't have minded if they'd told me an hour in the first place but was pretty unimpressed to have to stand around for half an hour after I arrived to collect it. The food was awful too. The crispy duck we ordered was really overcooked and dry. The chicken in the Kung Po dish we ordered was very rubbery and I found a bone in it. The satay beef was ridiculously sweet. On the whole it was a really bad meal and I will not be returning!

Oh cielos, habiendo movido a tener varios excelente Cllitheroe y llevar comida china de la capital mató esta noche estaban cerrados y traté de Evergreen. Gran error. Pedimos pollo y verduras con arroz frito. Que peculiar paredes (de hecho, al principio pensamos que era en salsa dulce y agria) y sucio marrón oscuro muy apetecible arroz frito - mirar! Por desgracia peor para comer! Sosa y sin embargo dulce pero salsa aguada! Duro sin cocer piezas grandes de zanahoria y otras verduras muy poco incluido! Por desgracia sospecha que era dulce y agria pollo con salsa de retirados y recooked! - binned simplemente horrible. Primero, último y único momento que jamás uso este negocio!

Best fish and chips in Clitheroe, not exceptional but the best in the town. Chinese food is run of the mill, neither great nor poor.

Always good food,never fails.One of the best around.Always very busy which is always a good sign in my opinion,one portion of chips will feed two.

Orden puesto sobre el teléfono listo en 10 minutos, gran sabor, y gran calidad, ha sido muchas veces, siempre buena, grandes porciones, abierto todos los días, incluyendo feriados. No hay escalones, acceso para silla de ruedas, pero la nueva puerta un poco estirado. Líneas de doble amarilla en la carretera inmediatamente fuera, pero nunca tenía aparcamiento dificultad. Menús en Inglés y Chino completo incluyendo sal y pimienta, ahora algunos platos tailandeses, delicioso!

Terrible food. I have just had chicken in Thai chilli and it tasted and smelt of fish.... Chicken texture was nothing to be proud of!! Not one to write a bad review but wow! 😩

Evergreens is one of the best in the ribble valley. I haven't been when it's too busy and I really enjoy the fish & chips as they give good portions.

Loved every dish that was prepared. We phoned up and then went in to collect. The one girl taking orders was doing everything, answering the phone, adding up the cost, repeating back orders, packing up the orders,?it was quite incredible to watch!!We weren't disappointed with our choices! Everything was fully consumed, chicken chow Mein, beef chow Mein, char Sui and the black bean fish was phenomenal! We were even given complimentary prawn crackers!A great little take away!

Called into here on the way home from shopping been here a number of times for many years now and it's always of a good standard and the best in clitheroe in my opinion.

Its an all round great chippy & good Chinese. As always with most Chinese a great choice. I have never had to wait long & never had a bad meal, & Ive seleceted most over the years ive been going. The lady owner is very nice & friendly, greeting me by name she's never forgot. Ive used the useful phone ordering with ease as English well spoken. Generous portions - What more could one want ?!? That was the worst Chinese I've ever consumed! Chips burnt and ribs (really burnt) and didnt look appetising at all! Took 45 mins from order and it was a take away, and the food tasted re-heated! We wont be going again, they've lost our custom and we have a big family in Clitheroe.

Go have the salt and pepper chips and prepare to be blown away! Chinese consistently good from there clean shop and pleasant staff.
