Everest Indian Takeaway in Glasgow City

I've been buying from here for many years. Normally, their curries are first class, but not last night. Chicken curry in which the sauce was much thicker and much darker than normal. This just wasn't pleasant to eat at all! I normally eat half along with a chicken pakora starter, keeping the other half for the next day. This time the other half went in the bin! Woke up at 4:30 this morning with a stomach so bloated it felt like it would burst. Only now - EIGHTEEN HOURS later is it beginning to settle down. Disappointing experience and a waste of £22....I'll need to think twice before buying from here again - maybe one more time in the hope that this was just a one-off.

This is the first time I've had poor quality take-away at this place. I ordered the £7.50 All in one chicken pakora and chips. Glasgow people have become well versed in Indian food and its quality. The pakora was not fresh. It was not crispy and was possibly reheated or it was being kept warm. I've added a few pics to show the dried look. The chips were okay but had the look of also being reheated. I've had kebabs and curries from here that were very good but this was very disappointing. I would still recommend it but maybe stay from the all in one trays

So lovely wee take away . But I can't eat pizza that is burnt . Been buying regular although I don't always go idue to illness . I get 3 pizzas each time but explain do not burn the one with extra on . Now I'd stopped going in for a while due to this . So tonight got 3 pizzas 27.90 come to eat it mines was burnt so they had not listened to our request . I took it bk and the person behind the counter started saying it's not burnt so I explained calmly it's is for myself in was quite black in fact . So he went on to say you can't get another pizza ! So I put my hand on the box said firmly its OK you keep the pizza but I will never come into you again . Next thing the guy in the back came out trying offer me another pizza even I refund !! Unfortunately it was to little to late as I explained it was not about the money but your responce back to me . I love the atmosphere in there but this time you got this so wrong . So bad review and you have lost me and if you can afford to lose customer that spends 27.90 and more just shows the level of care you have for your customers that keep you in a job . Next time please think about this 1 night !!! The money was not the issue but your attitude to me was .

Pretty decent food. The shop can be busy, mostly with delivery orders meaning you can have a bit of a wait at times but nothing drastic, I would suggest order online for pickup before you go or simply get it delivered. Not sure why they ask me to give stars for atmosphere, I went in and ordered a pizza and kebab, I was hardly expecting candle light and a mariachi band but all I got was a few people cooking food behind a counter but hey ho, the 3 stars for atmosphere are not a reflection of the shop 😂😂😂. *Update* Months after posting the original review I'm disappointed to say the shop still does not have a mariachi band but they were rocking some awesome Punjabi tunes tonight.

Food took over 1½ hours to arrive, despite 3 phone calls. We were told "on its way" & "stuck in traffic", but we only live 5 minutes from the shop. Food was ok, but the butter chicken was more like soup in consistency.

**Update** We haven't ordered from here in so long. We had a couple bad experiences and kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. But it never improved again, so could no longer put it down to a "bad day". Used to be the best curries in Glasgow! No more :( **** The curries are always great from here. The pakora is brilliant too! Authentic meals cooked from scratch it would seem, quite a rarity these days! We must order from here twice a month! Love it.

Great food amazing quality and great service

Got a munchies box and the food was undercooked, so I took it back for him to put his hands all over the food saying it was cooked when it clearly wasn't. They refused to make me another one or give me my money back. I have contacted trading standards. The chef was out smoking then never washed his hands. Covid 19 is about and they have no hygiene standards at all. Bunch of con artists

Used Order Yoyo to order home delivery website took money from my account but no food arrived. Phoned Everest to ask when my order would be delivered they claimed no order came through to them and this is nothing to do with them. Wouldn't repay me my money told me to take it up with my bank. NOTHING MORE THAN A SCAM. DON'T USE THIS SERVICE

The Donner king kebab is unbelievable and the fluffy but well baked Nan bread just hits the spot. Chips are always crispy and fresh. Best Indian takeaway in the north/west in my opinion

It was good ordered the 10" Munchie Box I did have bit of a sore stomach though after. Maybe because I ate too much.

Everest has been family favourite for over 20 yrs. The original patron was such a lovely man who delivered as well with his white overall on. Unsure if it’s still in the family but whoever it is they are doing a good job. My husband prefers to phone the order but I don’t mind online. Our 2 favs are Saag & the fantastic Korma,the gravy is the most luscious sauce,delicious. Would recommend!!

Everything was nice, but the korma had lots of lumps of un-dissolved coconut in it.

I had asked in the notes for my salad and sauce kept seperate but was not done and the pizza was stone cold and the base tasted stale. Dissapointed to say the least.

I used a voucher for my order but got charged the full price so my voucher wasn't used my order cost £26.75 including delivery my voucher was worth £25 yet £26.75 was taken from my bank account yet my just eat account said I paid £1.75 which simply isint true I won't be using this again.

First time trying here. Ordered 2 curries, pakora, rice, nan, and poppadoms. The food was OK! One of the curry sauces was spicy even though we asked and paid for it to be made mild, which isn't great when you've charged us for it.

Order from here pretty regularly. Foods Always top notch and delivered quickly. 10/10 everytime.

I didn't receive my any of the juice I ordered and that was fine as the delivery man was nice enough and told me I would get it refund but I forgot what he told me to do and when I called the place they told me it was on its way so I was shocked and was like okay waiting 40 minutes then called again to see what was happening and was told again it was on its way. Over all the food was okay it has been better but I am very unhappy with the situation

Quality of the lamb in the korma was not as good as expected. Very small pieces & some was grisly.

Enjoyed the Vegetable Biryani. Didn't understand the Chicken Tikka Pardesi, which tasted of either tomato paste or ketchup or both. Too much sugar and barely there garlic and ginger. What happened to the days of chopped spinach, with fresh onion, ginger, garlic, cumin and coriander? I wish The Everest the very best. However, it's not for me.

Can’t fault the pizza, best curry pizza I’ve had in Maryhill hands down, nowhere comes close. Only down side is it turned up in a. It if a mess most of the toppings had slide off about half of the slices, maybe have to rethink how yous send them out for delivery but again I can’t fault the taste and quality of it 👌🏻

Pizza was too spicy didn’t use a tomato base sauce and there was very little cheese on it.

My usual delivery shop I order from wasn’t taking orders so ordered from here. Was ok, edible and we ate it as we were hungry but deffo sticking to the other shop. Sauce was too watery and tomatoey. Chips were good. Pizza was nice. Garlic Nan needed a bit more garlic.

Chili sauce was rotten,it ruined the kebab, this shop used to have the best most tasty sauce, not any more
