Everest Indian Restaurant in Cheltenham

Ordered a takeaway on Sunday showed order was received and allow 30 minutes for collection, got to the restaurant and door was locked but light's were on eventually someone come to the door asked if they had my order he said yes did I want to go In and wait asked if they had started cooking it, No he had no staff and was going to go and pick some up so told him to forget it. Never had such rubbish service before they need to sort themselves out glad I hadn't paid for a delivery would probably still be waiting for it now

I went on a buffet night , which was cheap at £14.95. Food was ok but meat dishes weren’t topped up once emptied. Service was nonexistent: never even asked if I wanted a beer, which is a first in an Indian restaurant! The table next to me questioned their bill and waitress acknowledged an overcharge, which she sorted out. When my bill appeared, i checked thoroughly and sure enough I was accidentally overcharged too. I won’t be returning and can’t recommend.

Everest back to its old glory. Great food and friendly

Ordered food 40 mins before they we’re shutting and still no food not happy no email from them saying sorry can’t provide takeout at this time of night and it’s not the first time that it’s happened

Website stated they were open for lunch 7 days a week so placed an online collection order. Email confirmation received, went to collect to find it closed. Emailed them asking for a refund that lunchtime. Later I get a phone call in the evening asking when I'm coming to collect the food. They had ignored my email and the time it was ordered, asked for a refund and was told it would be sorted within a few days, still no refund. Out of pocket from a wasted drive to collect it to find them closed and charged for food I never had. Will never go back.

Drove to the location to find it closed, even though the signs on the door say they are open for lunch 7 days a week, as does the website. They proceed the order on the website and the amount shows on my card statement, but no way to pick it up. If they aren't accepting orders the website should say. If they aren't opening for lunch then don't list it on the website and on the signage. I had a wasted trip to find it closed after ordering and paying.

This evening my wife and I went to this restaurant. We are german tourist and stay for 5 nights in Cheltenham. The service was beautiful and the recommendation to our order was helpful for us. We have a wonderful diner and a lovely evening. Maybe we come back on our last evening in Cheltenham to try another meal. Many thanks snd good luck.

Starters were great. We had to around 20 minutes for our mains. When the mains came out some of the food was stone cold, when we talked to the manager about it, he started being rude to us and saying, ‘What, do you want it steaming hot?’, not only that but it was unorganised and staff was poor.

Shocking service, 2 hours for delivery after being told 40mins! Then a dish was missing and other dishes not marked up so had to guess.

The curry was stone cold. The starters were superb cant complain but the mains were inedible. The service was poor as the waiter wouldn't do anything about the quality of my food. All in all it was extremely disappointing and wouldn't return (apart from the lamn chops)

Only had lamb vindaloo with pilau rice and a keema naan but it was all very nice with good flavour.

The food was bussing. Brilliant atmosphere. The waiting staff was superb and friendly. Can't wait to go back again!

We booked this restaurant weeks ago unbeknownst whether we would be accommodated well however we were pleasantly surprised when the food arrived quickly and was delicious. 10/10 experience would visit again

We’ve lived in Cheltenham a long time and love a decent curry. The Everest is by far the most flavoursome and correctly spiced in town. The atmosphere is always very lively and warming, as are the staff who really seem to care. The Everest is what a proper curry night should be, great food, cold beer and friendly staff

Service was good, but a little overbearing. The second a plate is empty they're leaning over you to take it away, even though it's the middle of the meal. But polite, and better than the opposite of everything taking forever. Food was ok, nothing special, but it was passable and arrived hot. Atmosphere was fine, much like the food and service, it wasn't bad, but that's the best I can say about it. Hopefully I just caught them on an 'off day'.

I just went there first time yesterday night i am very fond of asian foods and this restaurant have so many options of food with different type of drinks i order biryani and there keema naan both was warm and very tasty customer service was also very good they also gave me discount.

Dreadful food ! Buffet at 7pm looked like it had been there for 12 hours ! Dried trays of Lukewarm food, poor hygiene arrangements and terrible service! Sadly I only checked the hygiene rating afterwards when I was not surprised to see it had a ZERO rating stating urgent improvements required !! Wouldn’t go back if I was paid ! Disgusting

I came from London on a business trip and was extremely hungry and tired, luckily i found this place the manager in front was so understanding as they were just about to close but still let me order and talked me through every dish without making me feel rushed. The food was absolutely delicious and they even made changes as i requested 10/10 ill be back

It was worth waiting for (takeaway)! A most delicious Rogan Josh - tender chicken, flavoursome sauce, and perfect rice.

Very good curry. (As always) But the wait for the delivery was crazy! They take a very long time and they don’t open till 5:30. I placed an order at 4:50 on line to be one of the first orders out, we still didn’t receive our food till 6:45.

Very good all round: food quality; presentation; service. King prawns I had were as good and plentiful as anywhere. Overall not the best meal I have had but I will be back for more. Very enjoyable.

Came in on New Years Day evening after the races. Was quite busy as most of Cheltenham is on this day. Good varied menu. Poppadoms were lovely and fresh and served with a good range of dips. Started were nice. We shared a Chicken Jalfrezi main which although was tasty wasn’t really hot (spicy) enough for us. The star of the meal was definitely the Talka Dhal …. One of the best we’ve had and we’ve had many. We’re not local but do like to visit Cheltenham so will definitely return.

Stupidly we decided against going to kashmir opposite and thought we’d try Everest out. We’ve been here for 1hour40minutes and the food still not arrived. Absolute shambles. Foods just arrived after 1 hour 45 and it’s luke warm at best (cold)!!! Staff were being nice then the Manager came out and argued that it’s straight out the oven so it must be hot. The food is cold. Don’t make the same mistake as us, go to kashmir.

Went on buffet night with my family. A good choice of Indian classics, freshly made and generous on the meat. A humorous waiter took us to our table and never felt like I was over staying my welcome well into my 5th plate of food. It's a shame it was so quiet because at £14.99 per person is great value.

I enjoyed the starter they were hot and tasty but the choice of main meals was I thought limited I had a chicken curry which was only warm and not a lot of meat. I found when I went to get a sweet there was on y a few crumbs / bits left and again a very limited choice I am sorry to say I won't be going again

Reasonably priced and decent portion size, three side dishes and a bread was enough for two! Came during buffet night so food took a bit longer than usual - proprietor gave us a free Kulcha naan as a gratuity for this.

I dined here once. The dish was very hot (to the point of having little flavor) and the service was OK. The decor in this place is a bit baffling - like being on the set of a low budget pantomime. I never felt the urge to return.

The last 4 time have taken 2 hours!! Apparently due to lack of drivers. Called 9 times, no answer and it’s only a Monday night. Refuse to give them any more chances - unacceptable

It was very hard to tell what meal was which I recommend writing the name of the dishes on the lid as it was very confusing to dish up.

I’m a regular customer for the last 12 years and I bought a takeaway from here for my partner last night. He loved it and said he would definitely be back!

We went for the buffet which was very nice. Yes, compared to other all you can eat buffets the choice is a-lot smaller but the quality of the mains at The Everest really is very good. The two young staff were very friendly, well done to you both. But unfortunately we won’t be coming back in a hurry due to the appalling seating arrangements. The whole restaurant is laid out for groups of 4 or more. We counted three tables for couples, none of them quiet locations. What infuriated me was they kept sitting loud mouth, gob slapping, sniffing, phone tapping, sleeve wiping, lager slugging, uncouths next to us ? The restaurant was empty and they sat people literally in our lap ? The Everest isn’t geared up for couples who have a quiet night off from the kids , first dates or just soft polite conversation. Please, dim the lights, turn down the tinny music, re-organise the seating and learn how to recognise your customer expectations …. But don’t change the food, it was fantastic 👍

OK what can I say. It was OK, however the premises were freezing, you couldn't take your coat off and even the waiter (who was changing the subject very pleasant and funny) was wearing a thick jacket. The food itself was good enough it was just the whole atmosphere with wanting to get out to somewhere warmer.

We ordered a takeaway and after 2 hours it still hadn’t arrived. Both my husband and I called the restaurant and had really poor customer service. We were told that they had tried to deliver it but no one had answered but we were in all evening. We asked for our money back or for the restaurant to just deliver our takeaway to us. They refused both options. We were told we would have to take up the refund with the website as they would lose money. We end the evening having spent over £40 on takeaway and no takeaway. I would not recommend this restaurant as they made no effort to rectify the situation.

Fantastic atmosphere and polite, attentive service. The front of house staff really make this place. Is it the best Indian food in Cheltenham? No. Its in the top 5 certainly but you can't really go wrong for a fun night with friends that won't break the bank.

Unfortunately we ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night around 6pm. They said it would be around an hour. But an hour and a half later it turned up. The delivery driver never had any change!!! And then there was a naan bread missing!!! The food was Cold!!! So we phoned and they said that they would send out a few dishes!!! We said no don't bother. They took our phone number so that the manager could call us. And we have not received any phone call!!!!!

As I'm staying next door in CHC. Cheltenham Hotel Central, I had brunch in The Everest. Channa Dahl & Lamb Achari (maybe it was chicken!) Crunchy bits of ginger... A Port to start. It was delicious. Ash (owner, was very friendly) Nothing was too much... I suppose I couldve been near to Everest, it felt very authentic. Thankyou...

Me & "The Favourites" went here for a meal the other Saturday - fantastic food & service. Even made me a "traditional" chicken curry to take home for my wife.I will be returning to either eat In or takeaway & I'd be travelling from Evesham 👍🏻

Really good Indian cuisine, excellent dishes and perfect quantities.

After a busy full-on day, decided to order a curry delivery and opted for a change of restaurant purely as a benchmark as to what we usually go for. Bad move on our part. Positives: delivery was on time, driver friendly, food was relatively hot and came with complimentary popadoms. Strange sauce to accompany the little pot of salad (onions), but tasted kind of ok. Negatives: The tikka masala may just well have been pieces of unmarinated chicken thrown into a tin of very sugary tomato soup. The chicken tikka pathia was lightyears away from what it should have been and tasted like a bland madras cooked with too much chilli powder (not fresh chillies), with sliced cucumbers chucked on top for creative effort. Value for money some would say is good, but when you weigh up the price against the qualaity of the end product it's disappointing at best. A pity because this used to be one of the best 'Go to' Indian restaurants in Cheltenham. No more I'm afraid. There are far more authentic restaurants in Cheltenham now and you can tell the quality by the chef's passion for taste . Not this one. Wont' be returning. We'll stick with our usual, just around the corner by Boots.

Despite deciding to close on a Monday they still took my money for an online delivery. Three phone calls and still no refund. After all these years that will be my last ever order to the Everest.😡

Went on Tuesday evening for buffet dinner but we were both disappointed by the average to poor food that was available. There was also not a lot of variety. At least one spinach dish would have been nice and what happened to the onion bahjis...

Best service I have ever had, Sabi was absolutely amazing made the whole experience even better than the food already was ! Food was phenomenal cannot fault anything about this place. Definitely will be returning. Best restaurant in Cheltenham. Massive shout out to sabi honestly...

Just had a home delivery from Everest for our family of 5 (3 daughters at 12, 14 & 16). We get a takeaway every week to treat the girls, but my daughters were not sure about getting a curry because they do not like spicy food. I persuaded them to trust me to order something tasty but not spicy. Everest did not disappoint. The food was delivered in good time on a Saturday night (being in the middle of lockdown 3.0 they must be mad busy with takeaways at the mo!). There was a small error on the order, but with one quick phone call it was sorted in around 15 mins and many apologies for the delay. The food was lovely, I am now full and content, and my daughters will deffo be wanting a curry night again in the near future. Well done Everest, you've converted my girls which means I can now look forward to more curries in the future. Happy days!

The food at the Everest is stunning! This is the best quality curry we have had in a long time. Wish they would open a restaurant in Liverpool. Banter from the staff was good fun and they really looked after us. Highly recommended 😁💖

The Everest is something Cheltenham folk are so used to we tend to overlook what a jewel it is. At time of review there is a superb buffet on Tuesday and Thursday night, and the manager is an excellent chap. When i am not failing to diet and have money i eat here, and there are plenty of good vegetarian options in my experience.

Get our orders wrong every single week, extremely rude staff when calling up to complain about their faults, say they are gonna replace our food and do not turn up. They'd rather let you eat stale food than fresh because they have no effort to come back and deliver. Absolutely loved the currys from this place now wont be bothering to order from here again, they've lost very loyal regular customers.

Lovely food. Great staff. Prices are reasonable. The lamb is so tender. Delivery took a little longer than expected but due to the volume of deliveries places on Valentine's night this wasn't a problem.

Food is good but i have concerns why they is no hot water in the toilet s at the sinks surely that is not safe and it would fail the inspection of hygiene etc and that is why I can only give it a 3 in ratings.

Meet with family there. Stay all evening. Never rushed. Food average but staff lovely so have been many timed
