Cozy atmosphere and delicious dishes. The chef's attention to detail truly shines through. Will be returning for more.

Food is really nice and tasty (shout out to the lemon and hazelnut cake). The portions are very generous (ginormous bagels!). The service is spot on too.

A really lovely find, clearly a yummy mummy haunt. We had the spinach and coconut cake which sounds awful but actually was fabulous enough for me to probably revisit and get a takeout!

Food is great but service is lacking. I’ve been sat here for 10minutes without being handed a menu nor a water. I’m heading over to Chamomile Cafe down the street which has far better service.

I had the best experience at Englands Lane this morning! The lady who served us was so kind and helpful, I never leave reviews but I felt I had to commend her on her service and her kind nature.

Wow, great gluten free eating here in such a lovely and friendly setting. We are coming back for sure. Gluten free waffles were amazing as were the GF Sweet corn fritters. Took home one of the GF cake slices. Great service.

Cute place but the portions are tiny and the staff are kinda rude. Drinks prices are also extortionate. £6.90 for a smoothie is honestly terrifying

Ate here Sunday 10th ordered a gluten free option - sweet corn fritters - but within 30 mins had a very upset stomach. No one answered the phone that day or since and my email hasn’t been answered. Either ingredients were not fresh or something was not gluten free and I wanted to flag it to them to check.

We have both dined in and had takeout from England's lane over the years as we live in the area, the takeout waiting time had always ended up being a shock - 5-10mins for just a coffee or a cake takeaway, 15-20mins for when we ordered hot food. The waiting time when dining in was also quite long, but we usually went there to chill during the weekends so was not too terrible. The young girls working there at times seemed quite overwhelmed. Better staff training and management would really benefit England's lane's long term business. As locals in the area we have progressivelly started to shift our positive impression on England's lane to negative now. If the consistant increase in price (£5-7 for just a slice of cake these days) is just down to inflation and can be justisfied, the consistant poor service is really putting old customers off.

£2 for 50ml babyccino is insane! Most of the places give even give milk for small kids for free if you order something for yourself

Cute place for coffee of brunch. They have a simple and easy meant and a good selection cakes. They have vegan options. However, if you have a gluten allergy (I.e. celiac) there is no option that guarantees that it won’t be cross-contaminated. My friend managed to make the simplest order (after enquiring about the gf options) only for her order to come with normal bread on the side… the service needs to up their game and better listen/ cater to intolerances.

Whenever I go to this cafe, the portion is getting smaller. The food is good, the service is just okay. This cafe used to be better because of food before, but now it’s just one of the okay cafes in the area.

Lovely cafe with unique pastry selection and very tasty food. Lots of healthy options on the breakfast. I am a regular here and have always loved my experience. Try: Gluten free coconut and chocolate cake Try: Shakshuka or Avocado toast

Waited over 45 mins for some lukewarm, fairly bland and massively overpriced breakfast. Won’t return. £1.50 EXTRA for a single tiny slice of burnt gluten free toast was a high point 🫤

Great place for teas and cakes. The teas are proper teas with dried fruit and tea leaves. It comes in a massive pot too. Really enjoyed their red velvet. Very moist and the cream cheese icing was delightful. The server was lovely. I didn’t get her name but I think she’s American. Very friendly young lady.

Nice café, with good options for breakfast & lunch. Food kind of inconsistent, I’ve had varying quality over the many times I’ve visited. The Nargesi comes with 1 small piece of bread and always takes ages for the second piece to arrive after request. I’d recommend to ask im advance.

Literally the grumpiest rudest staff that exists. The only reason this place is still in business is because of it’s location. The short-haired, dark-haired manager is the rudest of all. We came in 5 minutes to close and she rushed us out of there without giving us the chance to even consider options. And that’s the second time she has been rude which is why I’m leaving this review. I hope they hire better staff and capitalize on the good location. A truly pathetic treatment of customers there. And the food is 7/10 at best.

Have tried most of the options in the menu a consistently delicious and enjoyable! Every visit to England’s Lane cafe feels like a special treat. The service is quick, the atmosphere is very pleasant, the space is elegantly designed and is bright/full of light. Would highly recommend.. the deserts are great, absolutely love their red velvet cake. Enjoy! (The French toast is a must)

Service is always agonizingly slow. £3.70 for a small cappuccino with oat milk takeaway--genuinely the most expensive in London--and the coffee isn't great and the baristas don't even make the pretty designs. Truly disappointing for a place that looks enticing in a great peaceful location

Super service et petit déjeuner délicieux

Lovely café - by far my favourite in the area. The selection of food is fantastic and everything I have eaten there has been delicious (breakfast, baked goods, evening dining). The staff are also really polite and welcoming. My only wish is that they were open until 17.30 instead of 17.00! They sometimes reopen later for dinner (at around 19.00) but it's a shame to miss an extra half hour of the daytime offering... **Update** They are now open until 17.30. Great news!

Lovely cafe with excellent food, coffee and pastries. I've been coming here for many years in spite of the manager's poor social skills and rude behaviour, but yesterday I had enough when she insulted my partner who simply asked for a recommendation of what to eat. A very basic question, but it was beyond the manager's social skills and she became offensive. How she's been getting away with this behaviour for years is beyond me.

Might as well go to a Costa or Gail’s and get served a mediocre roast accompanied with burnt milk in your latte.

Very poor customer service with rude staff, people who arrives after you gets served before you, the red velvet cake was not fresh and due to their poor customer service and rude staff I won’t go back.

Nice food, long waits for the food/service, they charge quite a lot for a slice of toast not included with the dish. We asked for the salmon on its own, for a toddler, they still charged full price, regardless it does not come with the rest of the dish.

If I remember the name right, Anna the manager was super rude. I’m local and didn’t want to pay service charge for once. She was super rude about. And told me I have to pay and if I don’t. We will not host you at all! Even in Mayfair restaurants nobody say you “ have to” pay, and add tell you can’t come back to restaurant anymore!

Overpriced and under-delivered on quality. This is from several experiences eating there. It was much better when it was the smaller cafe focused on brioche in various guises. Recently ordered French toast. It looked glorious on the outside but the egg was runny inside and uncooked and it really ruined the taste. The waiter insisted they don't use egg and everyone else loves it but was happy to change it too. Overall would be much better and certainly at their prices.

Just love this place. All the baked goods are made fresh there and they are all spectacular! My personal fave is the pistachio brioche. The coffee is the best in Camden! The staff are so friendly and make you feel right at home. If you want to go between 11-2 on a weekend, expect to queue for a table, it's packed for a reason! 😃

The service is not very friendly. Even if you are already inside, in front of the counter and picking the pastries, they won’t take your takeaway order. You have to order outside and wait on the street for your coffee. Suggestion: just politely take an order and say the coffee will be waiting at the takeout window.

Im sorry i would’ve wanted to like this place given that i live nearby and love to eat out and have a nice cup of coffee. I’ve tried this place three times however the service was consistently terrible, angry grumpy staff not serving me as they should, i had to wait to be seated without anyone caring to come. I wouldnt recommend this place although the food was ok but again a little overpriced…

I've known England's Lane since 1964. It has had many changes. But the village atmosphere is still there. There used to be just one restaurant. Famous Chamomile. Now there are many more, cafes and bakeries etc. Many with gluten free bread and plant foods. Bob the Butcher is still there. And Allchins the pharmacy . the belsize stationary. There is a brilliant new fruit and veg shop..also sells flowers. a hardware store and a Tesco supermarket. Also very near the Library and served by the C11 bus to Swiss Cottage via South End Green

Light and airy, perfect on yesterday's warm summer evening; Great fish and vegetarian options - didn't check the meat and vegan options, desserts to die for; service outstanding - we were eating pre-theatre and the staff were very responsive

Really good place for brunch or lunch. Fantastic avocado toast, different types of salads, freshly squeezed juices, sandwiches and burgers. Great selection of cakes (I didn’t try them but they looked lovely) A nice informal place to meet.

Average - would be three stars if the prices weren't so high (setting a much higher expectation). The good: nice decor/ambience, the cakes looked lovely, and the coffee was quite good. The bad: The main food was really poor based on our visit - poached eggs almost hard boiled, and the thin slice of salmon on (randomly) brioche toast all amounted to an underwhelming, over-priced dish for £13. My partner's was better but small portion and felt very much like something that could be easily whipped up at home. The servers were unfriendly, one didn't say a word when taking our order, no apology for the over-cooked eggs (which they did replace but arrived after I'd nearly finished the toast / it was cold). Really, mistakes like that they should replace the whole dish or remove from the bill. Wish I'd challenged the service charge - if we all did this maybe they'd improve the service.

Nice space and design. Good coffee and tea. Not a fan of the croissants BUT I have my standards. French toast is a very enjoyable. Staff polite and receptive.

The good: the food was nice, good quality smoked salmon and good coffees The not-so-good: service was terrible, I had a waitress look directly at me after she had taken a coffee to the wrong table and I asked if maybe it was mine. It took a very long time for our food to come out - eggs royale and sweet corn fritters - and others who arrived after us got their food first. When the eggs royale arrived, the poached eggs were hard boiled - they had clearly been left to overcook and were left sitting for a while. To top it off, the price was extortionate for what if was- 3 coffees, two egg royales and sweetcorn fritters came to about £56! And they did not tell us service charge was included, nor was this evident on the receipt. We had to work it out for ourselves as the numbers did not add up. I think they overcharge because they think they CAN, due to being in primrose hill and customer service needs a good looking into. We will not be coming back here.

I was about to have a sip of my coffee when I was asked to close my laptop because they don't allow people to use their laptops there on the weekends. There was not a sign saying that, and I wasn't even using their wifi...

Nice ambiance, lots of natural lighting and nice location. The little takeout bar for coffee is nice and there are lot of pastry options. But the service isn’t great- the food takes forever, the staff is quite grumpy, the food is average, and very expensive.

Soulless but ok for a late night cup of coffee.

This place has gone downhill. Grumpy staff made me feel like I wasn't welcome and I felt like an inconvenience. The staff gave us no interaction when taking our order, just came up and looked at us in silence with their notepad. Shakshuka was over cooked and the new york bagel had no butter. We weren't offered any butter or sauces. Really poor service and food overall.

Loved this café! Their oat cappuccino is very decent & the cakes are amazing! Basically the cakes & the environment hooked me up there! Staff is very friendly too! MUST TRY : coconut & spinach cake!!! What an unbelievable creation! Their pastry chef is great, no doubt. The only downside is the temperature in there, could be much warmer to be fair… also I did not get excited with their soya cappuccino.

Average food, premium price. Had the bacon and cheese bagel toast, I would give it 6/10 Then the French toast came, soggy and soaked. 3/10 All in all, not a very pleasant experience. Especially when you think about the cafe that was there before, where everything was 9/10

Noisy, poor quality food, cold. Four poached eggs between two. Two undercooked, one nice and runny yolk, one that was solid all the way through. No seasoning. Worst food on the street sadly. Update: Coffee is good, based on my American. Staff still disinterested.

Service has deteriorated and we had to wait for ages for the coffee even on a Wednesday afternoon when it’s less busy. Staff can’t be bothered to be nice really.

Went for stroll and stop by this lovely cafe to have a bite to eat. My expectations were not that high and they over exceeded. The food definitely was some of the best breakfast food I've had. I ordered a waffle I wanted to arrived it looked quite small and yet I had difficulty finishing it it was so filling and delicious. Coffees were spot on and the service was excellent. I would say if you're looking for a great breakfast place, then you definitely want to stop here.

This place used to be great... but since they expanded the quality has kept going downhill. Front of house staff don't seem to know what they are doing. Very inattentive and orders getting lost. The atmosphere is also very noisy. The cafe's down the road are much more pleasant with excellent customer service.
