Service was alright, however there was someone who couldn't understand what we were speaking. I don't know if it was just loud or if it was because of something else. Food was mediocre, the chicken schnitzel was alright I guess.

We went for a family lunch. The food prices and portion sizes were ridiculous. £7.50 for a small portion and £13.50 for a large portion of chicken cooked with peppers. My small portion consist of half a boneless chicken thigh ( yes half!!??) a couple of strips of peppers and nothing else. You can see the trained staff trying to portion control it was ridiculous. Side cooked cabbage was an extra £4.00. £11.50 for a chicken strip and chopped cabbage. Very poor value

For a science-orientated museum, the in-house eateries offer a very poor selection of food and drink for those with (very common!) dietary restrictions such as gluten. It said to ask a staff member for advice if you had allergies, which I did, and was met with a perplexed look, after which I was offered cabbage or chips. I like cabbage but it didn't really work alone or with chips, so I opted for the chips. They were cold and rubbery. Perhaps some scientific innovation could be applied to the menu and how to keep food hot.

Very poor selection of food and close to none in terms of healthy options. We ordered coffee, later followed by tea, soup and carrot cake. The coffee was bitter and cheap tasting; the tea ( unable to decode the brand ) had a unpleasant, artificial taste to it, far away from your classic Earl Gray and English Breakfast cuppa. The soup only came with white bread and dairy butter, the soup itself was unbelievably salty, shocking ! Moving to pudding, the carrot cake in itself would have been decent if fresh ! Taking advantage of a trapped audience is outrageous.

My family and I went for some “Lunch” at the Energy Café after a morning of walking around the Museum which was great. The service there was terrible and we felt like we were being rushed by the “Gentleman” behind the counter and then I had to shout at the girl at the till to make myself heard because of the Perspex screen between us, eventually I had to bend down and talk to her through the gap in the screen where she gave out the change. The food wasn’t great, my eldest hardly ate any of her Chicken and mine wasn’t very good either but my wife and my youngest daughter persevered with their pretend meat Lasagne. I then made the mistake of buying a cup of tea. It came in a metal teapot and it wasn’t until I started to pour it out that I realised that it was the weakest cup of tea I’d ever seen in my life, it looked like the tea bag had been used before. I even squeezed the tea bag out in the vain hope of making it stronger but to no avail, it was like dish water so in the end I didn’t drink it. We then went to the Natural history museum and after a walk around we got ourselves some drinks and found that the exact same food was being served here as well so I assume that the same catering company must supply the food for all three museums including the V&A. If this is the case then they seriously need to change their caterers.

Whenever the mill steam engine is running, the air becomes really polluted inside and there's a lack of ventilation system. Unfortunately the cafe is located right next to the display, and it was extremely to stay at the cafe with toxic, polluted air while trying to finish up a cup of coffee. The coffee was horrible tasting as well because they had no idea how to make a cup of coffee with soya milk taste decent.

I called in here for lunch while visiting the museum to kill time while a family member was staying in a London hospital. It's counter service and it wasn't immediately clear how the system worked. When I visited the downstairs seating area was rather crowded whereas the far end of the upstairs seating area, on the other side of a walkway, was almost empty. Some signs directing people to the upstairs seating would have been appreciated. The soup and cake I had were of good quality but rather expensive, probably reflecting the captive audience element of the passing clientele. Next time I visit, if there is a next time, and I can plan things in advance, I'll take my own food. I don't fancy paying their prices again.

Wasn't busy (Friday afternoon), good service. Food was London prices, so expensive for what we got. The vegan burger was a few slices of deep fried courgette, which was good, but not particularly filling. Nice coffee, quick service. We stopped here one morning for a slice of cake and a coffee. I have coeliacs disease and can't eat gluten, and as we approached the counter I noticed that the cakes on display didn't have signs stating 'contains wheat/dairy/nuts' which was a little disconcerting. When we got to the counter I asked ' Are any of the cakes Gluten Free?' to which the member of staff replied 'Umm I think one of them is?' and gestured towards the cakes, he then continued 'If you really want I could ask my manager?' Clearly, this seemed to be a huge issue, so I decided to leave the cake and opt for a bag of popcorn instead. Which was fine, would have just been nicer if the staff were a little more clued up on the allergy policy.

I've eaten lunch here 3 times recently with my 4 year old son and found that they don't really cater well for kids (I clearly don't learn my lesson!). Which is ridiculous given that the museum itself is brilliant for kids. My boy doesn't really like sandwiches so we always go for a hot meal option, but they don't do kids portions of the hot meals or have a kids menu. I end up paying around £10 for a mediocre meal for him. Today it was beef stew which was mainly carrot and celery with precious little beef. It gets very hectic when the museum is busy, which you would expect, but they don't cope very well with it. The queue for hot food and the queues at the tills get confused and there isn't enough seating. My other gripe is that there is a table of cakes at child height right in the middle. It's the first thing you see so we end up negotiating over pudding before I've had a chance to see what else is available. They could do this all so much better.

This was done with his hand. After a few minutes another guy came along and started to wipe the tables with a cloth which he promptly dropped onto the floor - picked up and carried on wiping! This cafe just isn't big enough to cope with the volume of people going through. The tables were filthy, the seats and floor grimy too.The food was mediocre and expensive.

Arrived at the Energy Café in the science museum when it was not very busy. However, whilst almost no queues at all to get served, it must of taken at least 20 minutes (felt much longer) in order to get a couple of pots of tea and some cake. For some reason tea is make in a paper cup, then transferred to a pot (not too sure why) – I think just done on purpose to slow things up!Tables were not being cleared very quickly, resulting in piles of dirty items and left over food everywhere.

We stopped to have a quick sandwich and coffee and both were delicious. Baked goods were looking great.

We found the energy cafe the best bit of the Science Museum when we visited... Whilst the museum was lacking in interaction or things that excited the kids, they were very pleased with the freshly made pizzas! The wraps were excellent as well...Price wise I thought it was pretty good considering it's largely a captive audience. It does get incredibly busy and they could do with improving the queues etc but otherwise, a good place for a bite to eat!

Evitar a toda costa.

We had a lovely time at Gail’s, we sat in the back corner which felt cosy and private. The iced caramel latte was very nice.

We are here in London from the United States and so happy we found Brown & Rosie in Nottingham! We spent three weeks traveling around England… Brown & Rosie is at the top of our list of favorite places. We had dinner twice and breakfast once. Hamburgers were awesome. My French toast topped with fruit and ice cream was delicious! Not sure when we will back to London but we will never visit London again without stopping in at Brown & Rosie! Thanks so much from an American Tourist!

As long as you have an eternity to send here you should be golden. The service is there, but cannot really see it, food is a lot faster than expected considering it took 30mins to order and only 20mins to get the food. And if you forget to order something you might as well make peace with the fact you won’t get it. Staff is nice, but for some reason four floor staff and two in the kitchen Chen struggled to serve five tables with 20 people in total and quite a few people waiting to be seated had to leave.
