EmzCakes Creative Cafe in Wrexham

We ordered 60 cup cakes for a work event to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness day. We were given options for the decorating and decided on 50/50 pink frosting and some with the breast cancer logo of the pink ribbon. The cakes were divine, so happy and they were delivered right on time. We also ordered a specialty Victoria Sponge which we raffled as a prize, I didn’t win it sadly so I can’t comment on the taste but it looked divine and was in a gorgeous presentation box with pink ribbon. Thanks Emzcakes for making our event extra special.

OK so I like a gooey brownie but the caramel brownie I had was uncooked raw sludge I ordered a cupcake for my 5 year old niece which came in a soup cup, she got more on her trying to get it out of the pot than went in her mouth

Absolutely love this place. We visit quite regularly for a big box of cakes staff are always.lovely and treats are amazing. Highly recommend their goodies.

I have sadly just read the review from March 2018 which appears at the top of this page and am really annoyed that something so unfair is posted for everyone to see. I find it hard to believe someone can complain about the amount of jam in a (beautiful) cake and then eat it all !!!!! I have ordered cakes from Emz for several years and they have been nothing but totally accommodating. The cakes we have received have been absolutely perfect inside and out. They make beautifully baked sponges, buttercream to die for and the decorations are elegant and sophisticated. When M&S let us down with a cake (before I knew about Emz) someone put us in touch with them and they produced a fantastic cake with virtually no notice. This is a fantastic shop, run by fabulous people and the products are worth every penny and more.

Ordered my first postal box for £15.99 as I was intrigued after reading so many great reviews. When it arrived, however, I was surprised at how small the box was, so therefore making the brownies/blondies quite a small size, so for this price, I feel like they were overpriced.

I love coming here. The staff are always so helpful and the cakes and sandwiches are gorgeous. Anything made with kinder - I'm there!!

6 of us came here for lunch,4 adults and 2 children,all had something different, good food and cakes,my cheese and pickle baguette took time to do however I was told,a little small inside but some themed sheds to the rear,tip.... book a table or shed to be sure you get in.

Wife brought a box of six cakes home. They looked great in the box. However, it's of no use if they don't taste that good. The cup cakes were bland, the brownie was bland and dry. I don't like to rubbish small businesses, they need all the help they can, but I don't like 1* or 5* one review posters either. I really want to recommend this place (for takeaway cakes at least) but on this offering I can't.

An absolutely wonderful choice of snacks and treats both savoury and sweet, all home made and you could absolutely tell, gorgeous! Emma is so lovely as are her team, the cafe itself is so homely and friendly I’d recommend this place a hundred times over. Also just booked our wedding cake with Emzcakes after seeing their beautiful designs, so talented at what she does!

What a fabulous choice of cakes! I pop in quite regularly and must have tried just about every cake Emma has made; they are all absolutely gorgeous and the helpings are very generous. Highly recommended.

This really is a little gem of a cafe in Wrexham. Really friendly welcoming staff, great range of food on offer and all at a great price. You must go visit if only to see the amazing cake counter, I can’t imagine you’d leave empty handed! Myself and my partner are vegan and we love the fact that Emma has both sandwiches and cakes that we can enjoy, including her famous afternoon tea. It never disappoints. Just wish I worked more locally to take advantage of the lunch and cake deals. Highly recommend!

I had my 21st birthday cake made here and it was truly beautiful. This is the second time I’ve had a cake made here and they’ve both been excellent! Highly recommend.

I have been thinking about this review for a bit of time . We had a christening cake made here and it looked amazing had all the wow factor you expect from a £100 + cake and then there is the taste . Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad cake the chocolate level was nice enjoyed by all but was Notting different than what you could buy from a local supermarket . The cookie and cream level was not good was very dry and the taste was just so sweet it may be it just was not mine or are guests cup of tea . I dident return it as by the time I came to have some it had been given out and a lot of the cookie and cream level ended in the bin .

Lovely little cafe/shop. Enjoyed my lunch.baguette with tuna, cheese & side salad. Pot of tea. Very friendly staff & beautiful 🍰 on sale. Em's also make celebration cakes too!

Visiting Family in Wrexham we decided to go to this place as our Son, Daughter in law and the boys are quite frequent customers, wasn't disappointed, lovely welcoming staff,3 nice feature sheds out the back, food really good and well presented,a very pleasant visit.

Having recently changed my job, I am now required to visit Wrexham once a month. I saw this tea shop advertised in the hotel I was staying ... what a fantastic find it is. I now arrange my Wrexham days to be on a Tuesday for the Treat Tuesday deal, that way my family look forward to my return. To date they have sampled many of the various flavours of cup cakes but the biggest winner so far are the brownies and one called a Brokie (sorry if I have that wrong) it’s is a two layer chocolate brownie .. definitely worth a visit.

This is a nice modern tea room, offering freshly baked goodies and a wide selections of teas and other drinks.

Purchased a engagement cake last Saturday 17th March noticed on cutting while guests were present that no jam present in sponge cake until you nearly got to the middle of cake on which cake starts to subside far to much in one area i thought. And also thought chocolate sponge side's filling was dry so spoke to lady in shop on the phone to my concerns to which i got a reply that cake was made on the Friday and as to the jam that's how it's supposed to be to stop it seeping onto outside of cake and if i wasn't happy i should of stopped my guests having any and returned atleast 75% of cake back to them to check within 48 hours of purchase which would of been a Sunday as cake was made Friday but they were shut phoned Tuesday to raise my concerns that's all but all i got was talk of the contract i had signed don't think she takes customers concerns to well as my partner left a comment on her Facebook page about it which has now disappeared.

This is an average cafe for tea and cake but very good for children's parties. They also make birthday cakes to order which look great but I have never bought one. Worth a visit

A special birthday requires a special cake! This is exactly what EmzCakes supplied. A beautiful chocolate cake was enjoyed by everyone who attended the celebration and a good percentage of the entirely female participants would have years of experience in such matters.

Visited today with a couple of friends and my baby daughter. Lovely staff, very accommodating and AMAZING afternoon tea!

Llevé a mi hijo y su novia (edad 9! Por su fecha.) Fueron tratados como adultos que decían y tenían sándwiches mono y una tarta que podrían decorar ellos mismos. Nos quedamos muy impresionados. Mi trabajo a menudo pedidos de pasteles para eventos especiales aquí, así que cuando yo estaba buscando un regalito para mi novio por San Valentín, no podría pensar en un lugar mejor para visitar. Pedí cuatro bizcochos - Mundial Jammy Dodger, Rocky Road, Cookies N Cream y Ferrero Rocher. Todos eran absolutamente deliciosa, y realmente me costó elegir la increíble selección que tenían. También tienen cafetera/etc, que parecía sandwiches tan apetecible. Sin duda volveremos aquí para tartas y más :).

Mi novio y yo vinimos aquí para un té de la tarde, el personal era muy cálido y acogedor. Fue un día ajetreado pero nos sirvieron muy rápidamente. La comida y el té era encantadora y había mucho! Nos fuimos muy completo y feliz!

We visited this little local café and were given a warm welcome! the place is lovely and clean and the food is good and reasonably priced. When we visited there was also a pretty variety of local crafts to buy. A nice idea! Well worth a visit

My daughter had her 9th Birthday party at Emz Cakes today. She and all her friends had a brilliant time. I cannot recommend emz Cakes highly enough! They were so helpful and it was excellent value for money.

From a month or two of my Girlfriend going here for lunch she eventually took me here, nice place, bright, lots of signs of the varieties of options on offer. Plumped for the Afternoon tea for 2 (Coffee or a bottomless tea, and Sandwich or Toastie, and 2 cakes from the cabinet), impressed by the choices, as choice is not something which you would associate with Afternoon tea. Sandwich was tasty, 2 cupcakes was more than enough. As the coffee was finite in the deal, it could have done with being a bit bigger as the tea could be refilled. The coffee was not the best, but its cakes deliver above the bar. Its somewhere I would like to return, it also has a novelty of a cupcake for the kids (or big kids) you can decorate yourself at the table.

To bardzo przytulna kawiarenka, serwujaca oryginalne muffinki - np z ferrero rocher czy z oreo. Polecam tez smaczna kawe - moja ulubiona to latte jabko- toffee. Very creative cafe with original cup cakes. I recommend.

Emzcakes was recommended to me by a friend for a giant birthday cup cake.They were very professional and did an excellent job to make it special. We were all very pleased with it, not only did it make a good impression by its looks it also tasted amazing. I would definitely use Emz cakes again and would not hesitate recommending them to anyone else.I will be making an effort to pop in for a pot of tea and a cake as the ambience of the cafe seemed very pleasant when I was in ordering our cake.

I have visited Emzcakes on many occasions so thought it only fair I gave her a review as I think she's wonderful at what she does. She has a fabulous team her also work within the tea room either serving, baking or making sandwiches they always have a smile on their faces. You have to try their home made scones... made daily, they are to die for!!! Only £1.70 with clotted cream and jam, and for a £1 extra you get a pot of tea too! Well worth a stop while in Wrexham.

Been here a couple of times with my mum we really enjoyed it. Friendly and very clean and the cakes are amazing. You have to take a trip here love a pot of tea and a cake perfect.

Emz is a lovely friendly cafe for afternoon tea or just tea & cake. I got quite often with my little girl as is a nice little toy area she can playing well I sit and relax

A friend suggested that I try Emz cakes as we are looking to order a wedding cake and I'm absolutely thrilled that I listened. The cafe is a gorgeous vintage themed cafe with all of the little special touches that make a difference - I particularly liked the different vintage tea pots and all of the beautiful crockery. What really made the afternoon though was not just the delicious cake but the warm welcome that accompanied them. We had a tasting session and all 6 flavours that we tried were stunning, particularly the white chocolate and raspberry one. Having decided to go with Emz for our wedding cake we were delighted to learn that the price of the tasting session was taken off the final price for our wedding cake. Having gone in with a vague idea of what we wanted Emma was able to sketch us our perfect cake in minutes. We couldn't be happier and will definitely be back to try the afternoon tea!

EmzCakes is the sort of cafe that would be great for a quiet catch up with friends ... We took the kids, and it was fantastic, they were so accommodating of our noisy two and one year old, providing toys and making us feel welcome despite the disruption that our arrival often hales. The coffee very well made, I had the cappuccino and it was the perfect temperature for drinking! The cake was beautifully made, and having said we would share, they provided an extra plate and knife for cutting.

I definitely recommend this place as all the cakes are made in the morning. I had a mint aero cupcake and a coffee and the prices are better than the other coffee shops in Wrexham.

Visited with my 4 year old boy during the month of October. He really enjoyed the drop in cake decoration experience which is available for a very reasonable £1.50. I enjoyed a nice cup of tea. Very nice and we will return. The afternoon tea looked amazing!

I have visited this place twice for afternoon tea and both times have been fantastic. The service is excellent and the food is very tasty and excellent value for money- particularly if you have the groupon offer. I believe it's a family run business and I hope it continues to be a success.

We've not tried the cakes yet but we did pop in for a cuppa. The coffee was a nice change from the usual High Street roast, quite a distinctive taste - very good.The tea was served in a generously sized cup and it went down very well. Soya milk was available. The music was a strange choice for a cafe but it wasn't so loud as to irritate.As well as seating indoors there were tables in the street and also in the back yard, although this latter area was a bit cheerless with just walls and fences to look at.The toilet is upstairs and was scruffy but clean. The main door catch was broken and the only lock was right at the top of the door. It was a bit stiff and would be awkward for some.The overall impression is that this little cafe and cake-making workshop is certainly different and, together with the new Oriel, improves Chester Street quite a bit. We will return soon to test the cakes.

The is a true gem of a cafe - the owners/staff are lovely and are very accommodating. The food is all freshly made and the variety available is brilliant for the whole family. I had afternoon tea with a friend which I highly recommend.

Visited this quaint little cafe 27th August for afternoon tea, it was amazing...From the moment we went in until we left we felt very welcomed....It was so nice to go & have afternoon tea & not have it already plated up for you.We were given the choice from a list of sandwiches,we chose chicken tikka & rocket, then one cake each from the display cabinet, we both had a scone each, they were to die for. ( I purchased two when we left) Then a cake to share & a pot of tea.Will we return? Most definitely, fantastic place!!!!!Keep up the good work

We were welcomed in with warm friendly faces. We chose 3 different types of cakes and cut them in half so we could try the different varieties on offer.There is a choice of hot drinks and sandwiches. Booking is advisable, as they were quite busy when we were there and our first choice of date was booked up.

I just popped in to grab a couple of freshly made baguettes (and a couple of cupcakes...!) the atmosphere was lovely. The shop itself is so quaint and pretty. I have already recommended it to friends and I will be going to sit in for lunch ASAP!

Had a groupon voucher for an afternoon tea for two for £10 (normally £15). On arrival, greeted by friendly staff. Mostly indoor seating but a small outdoor area available too. Found a table and waitress said we could pick a sandwich of our choice so we opted for chicken tikka and mozzarella and sun dried tomato. Then we chose 3 cake items to share - a lemon drizzle cake slice, raspberry and white chocolate cupcake and a ferro rocher cupcake. We decided to cut each one in half to taste them all - they were delicious. Had a choice of hot drink - cappuccino was our choice. All in all a lovely afternoon tea - served on lovely china and a cake stand. Certainly will return.

We had afternoon tea, there were decorations and bunting and bibs to buy, we had comfy seating and a very relaxed luncheon.

The atmosphere is oldie worldie friendliness. The service was warm and relaxing and the array of homebaked cakes and sandwiches was amazing. We had such a nice time we went back for another birthday and will definetly be going again soon

Had afternoon tea here yesterday and it was delicious! Sandwiches are really tasty and the cakes are just amazing!! we chatted to the staff who are lovely, attentive, accommodating and friendly. The decor is vintage, cozy and welcoming. I will definitely be making this a regular place to visit. Brilliant!

I booked for myself and 3 friends an afternoon tea.What a lovely friendly little place this is,Emma and her Mum run the place really well between them.We had beautiful sandwiches and cakes with a Latte coffee,I would highly recommend this little establishment,I will definatley go back again there.

Went to enzcakes today for afternoon tea for four after buying a deal off groupon. It was lovely!.. All had a choice of hot and cold drink each, a cake each, plus one to share between two so 1 and half cake each, and a lovely sandwich each with side garnish. I had a ham salad and tha ham was lovely, real thick fresh ham!.. My daughter even had her own cake to decorate as she didn't fancy one already done in the display of cakes . All the cakes where gorgeous and even got to take home what we didn't eat in a lovely cake box. Well worth the visit especially with the deal being really cheap on groupon at the moment, and the entleman behind the till was very helpful and pleasant :)

What a lovely little cafe. Went for afternoon lunch with the family. The sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. The cakes are amazing.Always known it was there, but never really ventured in. Won't make that mistake again, will definitely be back in the near future.

Recently visited with a friend for the first time. Quirky relaxed atmosphere, very polite, friendly and prompt service and the chocolate brownie cake is seriously good! Would definitely recommend! :)

Amazing!!! Emma made our wedding cake and it was perfect!! Just what we wanted. I really do recommend and trust Emma to do a good job. All our friends and family were impressed and loved it.

This isnt a restaurant, went for afternoon tea, sandwiches are freshly made to order and the homemade scones were delicious, we were able to take our cupcake home as we were full, the surroundings were relaxed with lovely interesting craftwork pieces for sale.

Visited for some treats & it was well worth it! The rocky road cupcakes were so light & very tasty. The showstopper was the peanut butter slice - amazing! Can't wait to come back for afternoon tea!

I bought a Groupon voucher for Afternoon tea for two as a little treat for my Mother-in-law. It was soooo lovely, we had a choice of sandwiches off the menu, a cake each, a cake to share and a drink. The young lady who served us was lovely, very friendly and helpful. she took our order and brought us our drinks. She even took the time to have a chat as ask my MIL about her day. The sandwiches were delicious! freshly made to order and the whole cake stand looked so lovely. The cakes were amazing, and the young lady even picked up that is was my MIL's birthday so they even brought her a cupcake with a candle!A lovely experience, one we will be doing again for sure!! 10/10 ;-D

I bought a Groupon for afternoon tea and took my husband and daugter along last Saturday afternoon (March 14th). It was delicious thanks so much for squeezing us in as I did ask last minute the day before. Cakes and scones are lovely and I enjoyed my sandwiches too and the lovely latte. I will definitely return this is a good little clean and friendly cafe in Wrexham.

Emma's café is great to come and relax and have a chat. She is always so friendly and takes the time to have a chat with you. The cakes are out of this world and I highly recommend anyone to pop in, have a cake and have a look around at the crafts that are sold in there.

One of my favourite places for tea and cake from the arts and crafts to the wonderful cupcakes and fruit teas and when it's sunny you can sit outside.

My favourite place in town to go for a coffee and cake. Fantastic prices, great range of cakes and friendly service. Plus there are local arts and crafts for sale too. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my caffeine fix!
