Today Saturday the 4/3/23 I was in the store on St Mary's Street Leeds I saw a white or cream recliner chair with out a price on it. I asked a members of staff and he told me it was £30 after a bit of a discussion I said ok thats was fine. I left the store for 30 mins and came back to pay for the chair now the price was £70. I told another staff member about the discussed price and he said its £70 take it or leave it. Emmaus is no longer a charity shop as the are only interested in getting as high a price as they can well some of the staff that work on the shop floor. Buyers be aware of items with out prices on them they say one thing then change there minds about it.

This charity 2nd hand shop has a large cafe inside. The menu is usual cafe - jackets, sandwiches and full English with the odd quirky item - Homemade beetroot & chocolate Brownie. It's good value and the building is unique, there's plenty of seating and parking to the side. Well worth a visit and a stroll round the shop.

In an old school house this place had lots of atmosphere and seemed under used. The menus were good traditional fare and we had mushroom quich and a big mug of tea.

Really great place to eat, different from most cafes and venues as its an old catholic school that's since being converted into, to use Emmaus description a 'second hand superstore' with a unique feel.Really community generated feel when your in there, found myself conversing with a few strangers. The café has a great menu that's got your cafe staples and a few others on there, its written on eclectic chalk boards that cover one half of a wall, which, that and other quirky details give the café a real ambiance that sets it miles apart from any where else in Leeds. The tables themselves are reclaimed and upcycled and each one has its own story. You do feel yourself rather curious to the stories of those around you and the furniture itself when your in there, and then theres the history building itself, you can allow your imagination to really go wild. Needless to say, all the food is of a very high standard, having eaten there twice and with plans to go back. The portions are very healthy and it all tastes like nice, home cooked food. The staff make you feel very well looked after.

I stumbled on this cafe by chance, looking for a place to have lunch when visiting my mother, who is in a nursing home in Burmantofts. It looked my sort of place - simple home made soup, quiches, jacket potatoes and hot and cold sandwiches, light and airy surroundings, great value for money, helpful staff I noticed they also do sandwiches to take away

Perfecto, simplemente perfecto, el pescado estaba fuera de la escala que se cocinó maravillosamente y sabía fantástico. ¡Deberías ir de maravilla!

The food was very average. There was nothing unique or special about the food. The service was substandard. I would definitely avoid this place.

Excellent food and great choice. Suggest you book ahead. For the "top" meals they are between £25 and £30 each. I had a mixed fish dish which was excellent.

We had Sunday lunch and were served by Sam . He was so good at his job and really made us feel welcome, our son is a very fussy eater and Sam couldn't do more to help. Lovely place for family's.

Mrs Bore and I had a salmon and ham sandwich respectively. Both really well prepared on fresh bread though just short of £10 each. The one thing preventing 5 stars is they had outside heaters that nearly singed my hair.
