Went for brunch with my friends, the staff were lovely and the place is gorgeous, as it was a nice day the roof was open. Very nice, the food was super nice, we had the nutrition bowl, the portion was big and the price very good. Highly recommended

❌ AWFUL ATTITUDE WITH A UNWELCOME APPROACH ❌ Went there this morning to ask for the table to have a breakfast ( FOR THE FIRST TIME ) The place was totally empty and the young lady said we are fully booked and there's a waiting time of 1 and 30 minutes, "laughable" trying to be exclusive. There was one table occupied in the whole seating area occupied. For the benefits of doubt, I do not have a guide dog 🦯 🦮 and my eyes don't deceive me. Beautiful place with beautiful tasty food at a reasonable price. I had the steak baguette with salt + pepper fries, coleslaw - really nice. Afterwards, I got the French Toast with fresh fruit (berries) + lemon curd. The desert was a bit pricey but tasted gorgeous. It was a large desert for one person after eating the steak baguette but nice. Maybe share the desert. Overall - Great afternoon. Would definitely return.

Wonderful afternoon spent today in Emily’s celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday. Sunday lunch was delicious, gorgeous surroundings, staff were all amazing with a special mention to Tasha who made my daughter feel very spoiled. Would definitely recommend for any occasion. Not too busy either considering how lovely it is.

Not the greatest I’m sorry to say, very small portions, tasteless and a little expensive, plus we waited 45 mins for our food even though it wasn’t busy,and when I asked why our food was taking so long the waitress said it was because we had ordered vegan pancakes!! Like it was my friend’s fault for being vegan!! Pancake mix should be prepped and ready, they take just minutes to cook. I’m a chef I know this . The best thing was the decor,

Absolutely delicious protein bowl. The club sandwich was tasty too. The staff were very friendly. The ambiance and the decor is stunning!

Style over substance. We went for my wife's birthday and the welcome was really nice, albeit her complementary prossecco turned up ten minutes before everyone else's drinks. The mains were very much a mixed bag. Cod loin was good but the lamb rump was full of sinue and gristle. My daughter couldn't cut hers with a steak knife and mine despite being very pink was tough. Both were sent back and when they returned they were clearly the same pieces of meat, over cooked, still full of gristle, and mine was monumentally over salted. As a piece of good will we were offered free desserts which was a nice gesture, but my wife's ice cream arrived a good 10 minutes before the rest of the desserts, the chocolate fondant was a very nice cake, but no fondant and the sticky toffee sundae had filling ripper rather than honeycomb and the sponge was very dry. As a positive at least we didn't get the mandatory optional service charge added to our bill. Go to Sorrento's if you are in the village.

It was my anniversary date and we went at Emily’s Formby because heard a lot of good things. I booked in advance to make sure we would be accommodated. Waited to be seated and the waiter said this is your table and my husband said can we please seat somewhere else as it had plenty of empty tables and he was like no and walked away which makes really uncomfortable. Food was really nice though but not going back personally. For me is a big thing to feel welcome on the places I go.

Started off really well but has gradually tapered off in most aspects over time m. Food (Tuesday ) took too a long time to arrive (not busy) & it was cold, dry, bacon with constitution of plastic🤦‍♀️ the veggie one wasn’t much better (said my friend) Don’t think I’ll be visiting again.

First time visit to Emily's with my two daughters for brunch, the decor was lovely, so tasteful and warm. We ordered smoothies which were so nice and tasty.. We ordered food and we all went for the Rebels Sandwich. Mixed reviews really, the sandwich wasint tasty at all. The chicken was dry with minimal dressings, as was the bacon and egg.. The chips were nothing special. It just took on 50 mins for our food to arrive when the restaurant wasint that busy at all. The staff were really nice and pleasant..

Great venue; staff were super accommodating and friendly. No issues when sorting out some kids menus and a high chair! Food was incredible, and the value for money with portion sizes was hard to beat! Would highly recommend to anyone! We had the brunch menu, although the roast dinners looked amazing!

First of all sat on my chair that was soaking wet soaked through to my trousers so sat the whole time with a wet bottom thanks! Second of all the table next to us dropped there full drink witch again soaked my trousers and trainers… third it was our 10 year anniversary witch was stated to them and we was even welcomed by the staff member on the door who mentioned about our special occasion as it was in the special occasion notes, absolutely nothing done for it not a candle a desert a song and dance not a thing literally not paid attention to in the least… we eat in many top restaurants and have had so many birthday occasions and other occasions in quality restaurants with excellent service for the occasion I would class this as poor you only get one 10 year anniversary and we chose to go here and regretted it! This is our second time attending Emily’s the first time It was really busy and the food did taste overall good but was lukewarm so we fought we would give it a go again tonight was just not good the wagyu burger was overcooked, the mash for the kids had no flavour and was like a dollop of slop on the kids plate my daughter who is 8 complained with pains after eating, the sausages were well undercooked and the only thing that was hot was in the whole meal was the chips the gnocchi was poor! Overall not good at the end was still hit with a service charge witch I always pay even though it’s at the diners discretion I don’t ever mind as most places we eat it is deserved sometimes even a tip on top tonight it just wasn’t we won’t be attending again just fought I would leave a honest review all the little things I can deal with even a wet bottom but the 10 year anniversary probably was the worst part we will never get this night back again we could of went elsewhere and had a much better experience I hope they see this review and take note it’s the least they can do thanks for the wet underpants! :-|

We booked over the phone and we spoke to a lovely lady who was very accommodating. We got a 2.15pm booking. When we got to Emily's we were early so our table wasn't quite ready. We sat at the bar, and served by a polite man behind the bar. We were taken to our table on time and seated. A waitress came and took our order after 15 mins saying that they were busy and there would be a delay for food. We waited and hour for our food. My wife had a club sandwich, I had a steak sandwich, which was well done, not medium rare as asked for. I spoke to waitress who got a supervisor, She said she would change straight away. I asked how you could cook a steak in a minute? She said she would get a steak from another order? So, someone else would have to wait. The sandwich came, and was cold, the chips were soggy, and rocket was well and truly wilted. I asked for another drink and was brought the wrong drink. At that stage I had given up. Bill had 20% off. How can you wait so long for 2 sandwiches? Sad really as the place had been recommended to us by local residents. The staff were very apologetic and courteous. The waitress who served us was very polite. Food was very disappointing. Atmosphere is great.

Went for brunch with some friends, staff were very friendly and attentive. Beautiful decor inside and busy venue which was booked out all day. Sat in the conservatory area which was comfortable and heated well. Had the steak and eggs with greek fries. The steak and eggs were absolutely delicious with the steak cooked to my liking. The fries were good too but a little strong on the garlic. Small issue of extra food added to the bill, but staff were able to rectify this. Will be back again, great spot.

Finding Emily's in Formby proved to be a bit of an adventure, thanks to the building's verdant camouflage! But let me tell you, discovering this place was absolutely worth it. The interior décor is stunning – from the moment you step into the bar area, you're greeted by a stylish and inviting ambiance. We visited mid-week, and despite it being a weekday, the place was buzzing! This popularity is a testament to the quality of the food and service. After much deliberation (brought on by the parade of mouth-watering dishes delivered to other tables), I opted for the Breakfast Burger. It was a fantastic choice – perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. Everything about our experience at Emily's was top-notch. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was exceptional. It's no wonder this place is so popular! Just a heads up – finding parking might be a bit tricky due to the location. If you're not familiar with the area, I'd recommend checking out some parking options online beforehand. Overall, I highly recommend Emily's. It's a fantastic spot for a delicious brunch in a stylish setting. Just be sure to make a reservation, especially if you're planning a visit on the weekend.

Went with family for the New Year’s Eve £70 set menu and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful decor and excellent service all night. I went for ‘double beef’ - steak tartare to start. It was prepared beautifully with a hit of horseradish. Excellent start. The main was a fillet of beef that was a beautiful cut and tasted great. I was a little disappointed that there was no veg accompaniment, but otherwise beautiful. The dessert I went for a treacle tart, which was nice, but some of the other desserts around the table looked nicer. It was our first time there but we will definitely be going back.

Went for brunch didn’t book but struck lucky gettin a bar seat area this place is beautiful drinks were also gorgeous our food came a little cooler than we would have liked and straight away the general manager took them away replaced the full dish offered free drinks and for me this was handled perfectly the replacement was hot and absolutely gorgeous for service alone I’d return and I’d recommend it to everyone 10/10 in every way

We had a girls Christmas gathering here. Mixed feelings about this place. Lovely decor , and the place is buzzing , very busy. Perhaps pre- Christmas times , but I think locals enjoy it. I personally found it overpriced for what it's got to offer. We ordered food and drinks. Again, drinks are so expensive , and nothing special, just ordinary cocktails. Food took over an hourto cook. We should have been offered complimentary drinks or desserts for waiting , but that didn't happen. I ordered steak with dauphinoise potatoes. Potatoes were very greasy , loads of oil. No salad , even as a garnish, which was disappointing for that price. (£45) Service was good , can't fault. Attentive and friendly. Overall I rated 3 stars. Might return in a future to give it another go.

We went to Emily’s for my daughter 18th. The service and food was outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for anymore. The waiters and waitresses are a credit to Emily’s. The food was delicious as the singer who was performing that evening was fantastic. I would highly recommend Emily’s even my grumpy 13 year old enjoyed his evening here. I am very much looking forward to going back

Very over priced, don't see what all the fuss is about! But if ordering gluten free make sure you double check what you've ordered is Gluten free!! as I was nearly given sour dough which ISN'T Gluten free!! You have to ask if what you want to order can be allergy free but if your vegan or vegetarian just choose off the menu...so anyone with an allergy is made to feel second class for having a Medical condition. If seated in the back wear a thick jumper and coat as its freezing.

Got to Emily’s 11:30am waited a while for our 11:30am booked table which was fine as we understand it’s the festive season. Waited ages for our drinks, coffee came with no sugar and when politely asking for sugar it was probably 15/20 minutes till we had to ask someone else so I could have sugar for my now Luke warm brew. Food took ages to come out and my friends pancakes were cold and in a Biscoff soup. It was my birthday and my friend who had the pancake soup asked if they could do something like a candle or sparkler or something for my birthday and was met with agreement to do so, well must of been an invisible candle or sparkler as there was nothing. Server asked if everything was fine but truth be told we didn’t want to wait any longer and we had nearly been there 2 hours just for 1 small drinks order and 3 simple breakfasts. The place was stunning but maybe they need more staff or kitchen staff if food quality and customer service is being affected. Traveled an hour to visit and was very disappointed.

Travelled from North Wales to see the famous Emily’s and try their incredible looking food. We had the Christmas club sandwich on their Instagram and thought it looked amazing. However, we were given a spinach sandwich with some mayo and a small piece of Turkey on each half and mine wasn’t even toasted, so it tasted even worse. £15 each for that is barbaric. We seen other people having the same as the image when we came in, so I’m not sure if they had ran out of ingredients and not thought to ask if we wanted something else. Myself and my friend hate confrontation, and the lady serving us was acting as if we were an inconvenience any time we asked for drinks or to order, so wasn’t going to ask why it had came like this. Decided to email them instead, but low and behold no response 😂 wasted day trip and so disappointed it’s one of those places that looks amazing, but the food absolutely does not match what dishes they put on social media, so don’t waste your money.

Lovely inside but let down by the food! Most of what was on the plate lukewarm at best. Food was served within a couple of minutes so obviously already cooked and kept under a hot plate. Sausages anaemic and poor quality, bread hardly toasted and poached eggs particularly cold. Think they must be cooked in advance but were not reheated properly. Expect a lot more for the price. Such a shame! Could be so much better quite easily.

Emily’s is somewhere I visit often and always recommend and absolutely love, on every single occasion I have always have great service and great food and never a complaint, I could go on about just how great and well mannered and welcoming the staff are however today the breakfast I got was very over cooked and hard, I wasn’t the only one as someone next to me and had the same issue. This review is purely just to make the restaurant aware and I would still absolutely recommend

We visited for the first time at the weekend with friends. The service is amazing, and the staff are really attentive. However, both me and my partner both have dietary needs, and even though we had checked the menu before hand, the items on the menu weren’t labelled correctly. My girlfriend ordered the only thing on the menu that had (GF) next to it. It also had no allergens on the “allergen menu” when we scanned the QR code. She’s celiac so we always ask if the waiter can double check that she can eat what she’s ordered. Even though it stated it was Gluten Free, the waiter came back and told us that the chef said he was unable to make it gluten free? But she was able to have another dish, which wasn’t labelled as GF in the menu or the allergens menu. Our visit was lovely, but it didn’t make my partner feel comfortable to revisit as they didn’t seem tuned on to the allergens in their menu If you don’t have any allergies, it’s a good place for the atmosphere and cocktails 👍🏻

Food was lovely, once it arrived. We had a little issue as 3 of our 6 were vegetarian and they were only offering one option, and there was then no dessert either. However our server and the manager Taylor were fabulous and made the night better so thank you for that.

Plates cold therefore dinner cold not good wouldnt rush back also saw on way out guy behind hot counter putting roast potatoes on plate with his fingers!! Not very hygienic.

We have had several good experiences however on the last occasion emilys was ruined in our eyes. The while idea behind this Venu is to come for a fine dining experience however we had to sit and watch a dog vomit in the middle of the floor and have it walked around for several minutes. The idea of allowing dogs inside undermines the whole idea of fine dining and cleanliness and will sway myself and my family from returning in future.

No issues or complaints after my visit to Emily's. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The location is clean and tidy the staff were polite & courteous at all times during my visit and the food/drink I had whilst there was also all delicious. I would definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family to also visit when they get a chance or they ask for ideas for food/drinks 🌟

Fantastic Sunday Lunch & Wonderful Service We had an incredible experience at Emily’s Formby last Sunday to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday. When booking, I mentioned her special day briefly, and to my surprise, they went out of their way to organize a welcome drink for her upon arrival. It was such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for an amazing meal. The entire team was fantastic, especially with our little one. They went above and beyond to make the day memorable, giving extra attention to both my partner and our child. Their warmth and kindness really made us feel special. As for the food, the Sunday lunch was exceptional—great quality, delicious, and excellent value. We couldn’t fault a thing. The autumnal decorations in the front were stunning and added to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Emily’s Formby created a wonderful, memorable day for us. Highly recommended!

Came here as a group of 7 ladies to have a mini hen party. We came on a Saturday and had brunch. Food was lovely, decor inside was lovely & staff were friendly (but surprised them asking if we wanted to mix our champagne and Prosecco in the same glass though!) Would come again, possibly for dinner next time.

The food is very tasty, especially the ‘Emily’s breakfast’ and the steak and eggs. It’s always hot and fresh and the coffee is lovely too. I would say the last couple of times I’ve visited tho service has been quite slow and we’ve had to ask for the same things such as water or the bill a few times because they just… forget? I’d understand if it was extremely busy but it hadn’t been. That being said I’d still definitely recommend a visit but be prepared for a wait!

Lovely sunday lunch with a long-time friend. We both had the beef (which was a little pinker than I normally like) but melt in the mouth delicious, with all the trimmings. I had the chocolate marquise, which was lovely, and my friend had panna cotta with a raspberry sorbet which exploded with flavour in your mouth. Highly recommended and as always will visit again.

It's a lovely setting, really beautiful and the staff are really tentative, polite and friendly. We've been here a few times for drinks but never eaten at Emily's so wanted to try the food. Unfortunately the food was mediocre for the price you pay. We had croquettes for an appetiser which was okay apart from the amount of mayonnaise. We had the ribeye beef for £45 to share and I have to say It was such an underwhelming meal, the beef was just okay and such a small amount no seasoning with about 7 chips and potato gratin it was just average and that would usually be okay if you're being charged normal pub prices. The star of the show was the dark chocolate dessert which was lovely. As mentioned we've been here for drinks before, we both had 4 cocktails each one was sent one back, twice and all the other cocktails were really poor compared to what we've had from their before. All in all a real let down on all fronts, sad to say we won't be back anytime soon.
