Stopped here for breakfast. We were so lucky as it gets chocca, really quick. Lovely food with a great morning vibe. The menu looked great for the evening, will definitely have to reserve a table for next time

Went for brunch didn’t book but struck lucky gettin a bar seat area this place is beautiful drinks were also gorgeous our food came a little cooler than we would have liked and straight away the general manager took them away replaced the full dish offered free drinks and for me this was handled perfectly the replacement was hot and absolutely gorgeous for service alone I’d return and I’d recommend it to everyone 10/10 in every way

We had a girls Christmas gathering here. Mixed feelings about this place. Lovely decor , and the place is buzzing , very busy. Perhaps pre- Christmas times , but I think locals enjoy it. I personally found it overpriced for what it's got to offer. We ordered food and drinks. Again, drinks are so expensive , and nothing special, just ordinary cocktails. Food took over an hourto cook. We should have been offered complimentary drinks or desserts for waiting , but that didn't happen. I ordered steak with dauphinoise potatoes. Potatoes were very greasy , loads of oil. No salad , even as a garnish, which was disappointing for that price. (£45) Service was good , can't fault. Attentive and friendly. Overall I rated 3 stars. Might return in a future to give it another go.

We went to Emily’s for my daughter 18th. The service and food was outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for anymore. The waiters and waitresses are a credit to Emily’s. The food was delicious as the singer who was performing that evening was fantastic. I would highly recommend Emily’s even my grumpy 13 year old enjoyed his evening here. I am very much looking forward to going back

Very over priced, don't see what all the fuss is about! But if ordering gluten free make sure you double check what you've ordered is Gluten free!! as I was nearly given sour dough which ISN'T Gluten free!! You have to ask if what you want to order can be allergy free but if your vegan or vegetarian just choose off the menu...so anyone with an allergy is made to feel second class for having a Medical condition. If seated in the back wear a thick jumper and coat as its freezing.

Server was very polite which I want to point out right away this was in no reflection on him. Got to Emily’s 11:30am waited a while for our 11:30am booked table which was fine as we understand it’s the festive season. Waited ages for our drinks, coffee came with no sugar and when politely asking for sugar it was probably 15/20 minutes till we had to ask someone else so I could have sugar for my now Luke warm brew. Food took ages to come out and my friends pancakes were cold and in a Biscoff soup. It was my birthday and my friend who had the pancake soup asked if they could do something like a candle or sparkler or something for my birthday and was met with agreement to do so, well must of been an invisible candle or sparkler as there was nothing. Server asked if everything was fine but truth be told we didn’t want to wait any longer and we had nearly been there 2 hours just for 1 small drinks order and 3 simple breakfasts. The place was stunning but maybe they need more staff or kitchen staff if food quality and customer service is being affected. Traveled an hour to visit and was very disappointed.

Travelled from North Wales to see the famous Emily’s and try their incredible looking food. We had the Christmas club sandwich on their Instagram and thought it looked amazing. However, we were given a spinach sandwich with some mayo and a small piece of Turkey on each half and mine wasn’t even toasted, so it tasted even worse. £15 each for that is barbaric. We seen other people having the same as the image when we came in, so I’m not sure if they had ran out of ingredients and not thought to ask if we wanted something else. Myself and my friend hate confrontation, and the lady serving us was acting as if we were an inconvenience any time we asked for drinks or to order, so wasn’t going to ask why it had came like this. Decided to email them instead, but low and behold no response 😂 wasted day trip and so disappointed it’s one of those places that looks amazing, but the food absolutely does not match what dishes they put on social media, so don’t waste your money.

Lovely inside but let down by the food! Most of what was on the plate lukewarm at best. Food was served within a couple of minutes so obviously already cooked and kept under a hot plate. Sausages anaemic and poor quality, bread hardly toasted and poached eggs particularly cold. Think they must be cooked in advance but were not reheated properly. Expect a lot more for the price. Such a shame! Could be so much better quite easily.

Emily’s is somewhere I visit often and always recommend and absolutely love, on every single occasion I have always have great service and great food and never a complaint, I could go on about just how great and well mannered and welcoming the staff are however today the breakfast I got was very over cooked and hard, I wasn’t the only one as someone next to me and had the same issue. This review is purely just to make the restaurant aware and I would still absolutely recommend

We visited for the first time at the weekend with friends. The service is amazing, and the staff are really attentive. However, both me and my partner both have dietary needs, and even though we had checked the menu before hand, the items on the menu weren’t labelled correctly. My girlfriend ordered the only thing on the menu that had (GF) next to it. It also had no allergens on the “allergen menu” when we scanned the QR code. She’s celiac so we always ask if the waiter can double check that she can eat what she’s ordered. Even though it stated it was Gluten Free, the waiter came back and told us that the chef said he was unable to make it gluten free? But she was able to have another dish, which wasn’t labelled as GF in the menu or the allergens menu. Our visit was lovely, but it didn’t make my partner feel comfortable to revisit as they didn’t seem tuned on to the allergens in their menu If you don’t have any allergies, it’s a good place for the atmosphere and cocktails 👍🏻

Food was lovely, once it arrived. We had a little issue as 3 of our 6 were vegetarian and they were only offering one option, and there was then no dessert either. However our server and the manager Taylor were fabulous and made the night better so thank you for that.

We have had several good experiences however on the last occasion emilys was ruined in our eyes. The while idea behind this Venu is to come for a fine dining experience however we had to sit and watch a dog vomit in the middle of the floor and have it walked around for several minutes. The idea of allowing dogs inside undermines the whole idea of fine dining and cleanliness and will sway myself and my family from returning in future.

Plates cold therefore dinner cold not good wouldnt rush back also saw on way out guy behind hot counter putting roast potatoes on plate with his fingers!! Not very hygienic.

No issues or complaints after my visit to Emily's. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The location is clean and tidy the staff were polite & courteous at all times during my visit and the food/drink I had whilst there was also all delicious. I would definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family to also visit when they get a chance or they ask for ideas for food/drinks 🌟

Fantastic Sunday Lunch & Wonderful Service We had an incredible experience at Emily’s Formby last Sunday to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday. When booking, I mentioned her special day briefly, and to my surprise, they went out of their way to organize a welcome drink for her upon arrival. It was such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for an amazing meal. The entire team was fantastic, especially with our little one. They went above and beyond to make the day memorable, giving extra attention to both my partner and our child. Their warmth and kindness really made us feel special. As for the food, the Sunday lunch was exceptional—great quality, delicious, and excellent value. We couldn’t fault a thing. The autumnal decorations in the front were stunning and added to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Emily’s Formby created a wonderful, memorable day for us. Highly recommended!

I definitely will go back again. It was very busy, so I think it would be wise to book a table.

Came here as a group of 7 ladies to have a mini hen party. We came on a Saturday and had brunch. Food was lovely, decor inside was lovely & staff were friendly (but surprised them asking if we wanted to mix our champagne and Prosecco in the same glass though!) Would come again, possibly for dinner next time.

The food is very tasty, especially the ‘Emily’s breakfast’ and the steak and eggs. It’s always hot and fresh and the coffee is lovely too. I would say the last couple of times I’ve visited tho service has been quite slow and we’ve had to ask for the same things such as water or the bill a few times because they just… forget? I’d understand if it was extremely busy but it hadn’t been. That being said I’d still definitely recommend a visit but be prepared for a wait!

Lovely sunday lunch with a long-time friend. We both had the beef (which was a little pinker than I normally like) but melt in the mouth delicious, with all the trimmings. I had the chocolate marquise, which was lovely, and my friend had panna cotta with a raspberry sorbet which exploded with flavour in your mouth. Highly recommended and as always will visit again.

Would highly recommend. 2 girls in particular.... Emily and Olivia, absolutely went above and beyond for us? Our 7yr old took a shine to Emily, and even tho the place was busy Emily still took time to make a wish in the well with our skye!! Brilliant!! Will definitely be returning soon!! X

It's a lovely setting, really beautiful and the staff are really tentative, polite and friendly. We've been here a few times for drinks but never eaten at Emily's so wanted to try the food. Unfortunately the food was mediocre for the price you pay. We had croquettes for an appetiser which was okay apart from the amount of mayonnaise. We had the ribeye beef for £45 to share and I have to say It was such an underwhelming meal, the beef was just okay and such a small amount no seasoning with about 7 chips and potato gratin it was just average and that would usually be okay if you're being charged normal pub prices. The star of the show was the dark chocolate dessert which was lovely. As mentioned we've been here for drinks before, we both had 4 cocktails each one was sent one back, twice and all the other cocktails were really poor compared to what we've had from their before. All in all a real let down on all fronts, sad to say we won't be back anytime soon.

We visited Emily's for the first time last week for my daughter's 13th birthday and it won't be the last. The venue is beautiful, perfect for a special occasion and such a lovely atmosphere. The food was very tasty and everyone in our group really enjoyed their meal. The service from the team was also fantastic, everyone was so friendly and attentive. A special thanks to Tasha who went above and beyond to make the birthday girl feel special and made us all feel very welcome. Will definitely return, need to try the brunch next time!

we only had tasters, so cant comment on full meals. cold charcutery was basic and not very interesting on the plate. but we cannot fault the staff servcie. is was excellent

Visited on a Wednesday morning for a private event, and was so good, I would definitely return again for personal reasons. We had brunch, and it was very tasty, and cooked well.

This place is truly dog friendly (not just dog tolerant) with beds available for your pooch to slumber whilst you enjoy the excellent food and great atmosphere. Highly recommended for dogs and their hungry human companions.

Out for a celebration. Drinks and snacks were ace. However our actual food was very disappointing. My main the bibimbap bowl was tasteless and dry, then eventually a sauce came out, careful to put a small amount on, was so salty and sickly I couldn’t eat my food. I didn’t want to create a fuss but did say something, nothing happened, turned up on our bill, thankfully got it taken off. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I was disappointed to be leaving hungry.

We have eaten at Emily’s numerous times since it opened, unfortunately we won’t be going again, the de’cor of this restaurant is beautiful, but they are most certainly trading of the fancy soft furnishings and exposed brick ambiance, as the food, especially the lunch menu has declined significantly, can you let me know when the chef is free I’ll pop in and show them how to cook bacon sausage and steak ! All of our party had a complaint about the quality of the food, in particular the Nutrition Bowl, once a favourite it’s now shrunk in size, served in a horrible pottery small bowl, the ingredients were very sloppy and didn’t appear fresh, we ordered a side of skin on fries which was not what we received, frozen oven chips at best! (Think someone had popped over to Iceland for the cheapest they could find) some of the party had ordered steak in various meals, all asked by a server if they didn’t mind that the steak would be pink( how very unusual that they were not asked how they wanted their steak cooked…. Basic) when their meals arrived the steak was fatty and well done ! Beautiful restaurant, beautifully designed, but come on Emily’s the food has to be better than we were served yesterday !

We were refused service before closing time and not for the first time. My son and I travelled 2 hours to go to Formby beach and eat at Emily's. We had been before to the beach and Emily's, it was an amazing day out. So much so my Eight year old asked if we could take the long drive and go again. Last time we went it was 15 mins before the end of brunch service and they refused us service as "the kitchen was too busy" and it was nearly last orders. I dug my feet in (nicely) and persuaded them to give us one of the various empty tables and we would order instantly but no rush. I have owned and run high end restaurants and know the temptation to change the rules because the team want a break so I knew how to sort it. When we came yesterday we knew to be early but due to the lack of parking we arrived 10 mins before the last orders but still on time. Once again we were refused service. First it was because they were too busy, I then pointed out the multiple empty tables and said we would be quick to order. Then it was the kitchen was too busy which really got my back up. If last orders are 2.45, they are 2.45 not when you want because you had a busy service. There is no way the owner would allow for this. If I found my team refusing business when there is space and time they would recieve a reprimanded for losing the business money. Emily's is a lovely spot, great food and the last time we ate the service was spot on but having to negotiate for a table every time I come is unacceptable and I will not return. Guest relations are critical and a kitchen should not dictate service policy because they don't want to cook food near to closing time.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant!! Amazing food and wonderful staff. What more could you want. We have booked for my Mother in laws birthday brunch with her friends.

We had high expectations for here, we asked a. Member of staff what the charcuterie of the day was, she came back said spicy picante we asked what this was she didn't know a young guy came over to help, when this arrived it was thin slices of salami on a plate when leaving the venue we saw other plates similar with cheese grated over.

This was our first visit after reading great reviews and wow, what an amazing venue. Kelly was our server and she was so warm and pleasant! The food was delicious, best eggs Benedict I’ve had, can’t wait to come back and try the A la Carte menu. The botanical theme makes this one of the best looking restaurants I’ve been to, worth the hours drive to get there. We eat out a lot and this was the best restaurant we have visited.

Wow! Unbelievable place. Just go! Service was great. Drinks were amazing. Callum (at the bar) makes the best margaritas and espresso martinis! Food.. amazing! Bar service great! Definitely be returning!

I was disappointed, vegan option was very limited..I have dairy intorelence and mashed up pea soup or tomato salad were the only options. Roast was nice but not the best and was told vegan puddings option ..which was only sorbets, which is not the best when everyone around is tucking into gorgeous puddings.. Surely is chef trained , then other options could be available.. Service and atmosphere was lovely, but went home hungry and disappointed.

Excellent eatery in Formby village. Dark bar area on entering then two eating areas one in a kind of atrium area. Fairly quiet at 10 on a Wednesday but got busier as the morning wore on. Small but varied menu. Service very caring helpful and attentive. Emily’s Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast bowl with added steak was fantastic! Pretty good value for money. Highly recommended and will go again.

Only gave 4 stars as I only went for drinks but I’m pretty sure the food is top quality. Great decor and atmosphere. Staff lovely too will definitely try it out again for a meal next time

Lovely off main St location a hiden gem in Formby will make a point of a revisit.

Well, it must be that special day of the week when I go and get spoilt rotten by my friends at Emily's Breakfast Bar in Formby. So many happy ways to start the day, from the beautifully charming Hostess Lydia, to being seated and served by Charlie and Dempsey, I smiled so much my eyes leaked (I told them that was the Hayfever) but never have I mixed a Breakfast Margarita with such a wonderful Eggs Atlantic before. I still can't wipe the smile off my face, even now. In fact, I think I'll be smiling all weekend off the back of this visit. So I snuck in a little peak behind the curtain on my way out to see the special team Chef Tom has assembled (the team who never get their eggs wrong). And today I was delighted to see young Jack and Kyle (who know a thing or two about turning your breakfast into the best meal of the day). Their poached eggs (on a delicious bed of smoked salmon) topped by a drizzle of hollandaise with caviar garnish on a freshly toasted English muffin have replaced my usual Eggs Benedict as my new number one go-to monthly treat, and that takes some doing, believe me. So my five star (plus) breakfast of the month award goes to Emily's in Formby, not just for their excellent (world class) food, but for their fabulous service, their thoughtfulness, their kitchen staff, kindness and sheer attention to detail. Truly made me feel like I was back in Santa Barbara being treated like a superstar again, God bless them. It'll be difficult to limit myself to popping in just once a month from now on, it really was that much fun ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(+)

Heard so many good things about Emily's that I decided to pop in and see what all the fuss is about. And I'm really glad I did. From the very second I walked in I felt like I was being treated like a superstar. Everyone was so warm and accommodating, from Hostess Emelia (who led me to the perfect little corner seat) to the lovely Hannah who brought me the most delicious scrambled eggs with chorizo, caramelised onions and goats cheese with a healthy side of bacon. So inspiring was it, that I treated myself to a special little tipple they called a Mimosa (I think it tasted like champagne and OJ) and I plan on doing it again a lot more regularly too. It was an amazing way to start the day. Lots of very attentive staff made sure my first time here was just a little bit special, and those scrambled eggs were so much better than anything I could ever make, no matter how hard I try. And the place itself is delightful. A little bit like the TARDIS, it's much much bigger inside than it looks from the exterior. And comfortable too. There's a reason it gets more five star reviews than any of its local competitors. It's terrific. FIVE STAR (PLUS) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(+)

Still very good & still very busy, so Emily's is clearly getting things right! We had booked a table for 3 for midday, but we had to have vacated it by 1.30, which emphsises how busy they are. New location in Southport has recently opened.

Welcomed at the door and taken through to the lovely room at the back. 3 of the brunch choices were lovely (Steak and Eggs, French toast and Breakfast Barm), but the full English breakfast was let down by the black pudding and bacon. The only negative from an otherwise lovely meal. Will definitely be going again.

Only 3 stars for atmosphere but it was a quieter night but this meant we weren't hurried and had a delightful and relaxed meal.

Visited Emily's for the first time on Thursday evening and will definitely be back. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were lovely so friendly but professional, a special mention to our server Tasha who without doubt is a credit to the establishment. The service was great and the food we had outstanding and very reasonably priced for the choice, standard and quality. As we live in Birkdale we are looking forward to their new restaurant, Penelope's, opening soon on Rotten Row. Thank you all for making our evening special especially Tasha.

Went here the other week for my partners birthday and everything was amazing! The atmosphere and staff are incredible and although a little more pricey than your standard ‘cafe/Breakfast bar’ it’s worth every penny!

What a great find !!! Amazing little place and the food was amazing !! Steak was cooked to perfection and service was spot on. Mushrooms for starter and onions rings . Then fillet steak for main. Also squeezed a rhubarb crumble and custard even though I was full but love rhubarb and it lovely . Emily was so friendly and welcoming and we highly recommend!!

Rude staff who are the least accommodating to large groups! Would rather give my money to a business that appreciates customers! **The response below is factually incorrect and again is a representation of the customer service to treat myself and my family as lying? The wording in the email response is, word for word “ Unfortunately we would not be able to split the booking across two tables as these would have to be at different time slots and your food would not all be served together so to avoid any disappointment on the day this is why we do not uphold this” This is not offering to accommodate. My sister then called to see if anything more can be done as we had been with a party of 18 before just to get clarity and the girl who answered the phone was rude, abrupt and said, “if you’re not happy just go eat somewhere else” as we couldn’t understand why you can only serve 12 people a time slot when this has been accommodated before! She spoke with your manager who was polite but again offered no alternative and then advised it was fully booked anyway with a baby shower! Again, this response shows how rude and unappreciative of customers you are and please don’t lie online to make a point. If you want to resolve a genuine complaint about your service, provide us a complaints procedure rather than responding publicly Don’t worry we wouldn’t eat here again anyway so matter resolved!

Great place for an Afternoon catch-up or for a great evening meal

The food was well prepared and tasty, the venue is lovely very well presented as you can see from the pictures I posted via Instagram. The only downfall unfortunately was a lacking service , I feel Emily’s relies on style over substance which is a shame. With such a high standard of venue I expected the same level of service and unfortunately it wasn’t there , I have dined in less style conscious venues were the service level hands down makes the experience a lot more enjoyable. The host who greeted us was very friendly and engaging  but from there on the service wasn’t great. - I added steak to my meal and wasn't asked how I would like it cooking, for me this is culinary basics. - Throughout the meal no one actually came over  to the table to see if everything was ok or if we had any issues . - The coffee order was brought over wrong after I had already had to repeat the order to the server as he relayed the order back to me wrong , we were left waiting with one coffee while the order was fixed instead of bringing two fresh coffees. - When paying  the bill i was asked  to “check it” to see that it was correct , the server helping at the time hadn’t taken the original order and was unsure.  A lack of communication between staff shouldn’t be seen by customers. - When my partner and I were leaving the facility there was a group of servers chatting near the front entrance , I was expecting a “thanks for coming how was your meal“ but instead , i was asked “ have you paid your bill” after responding “yes” i was then told that’s fine then and they continued there conversation , this isn’t acceptable behaviour from any customer service / hospitality facing role I found it extremely rude and embarrassing. Before posting the negative review I reached out to Emily’s to make them aware of the issues I had with no acknowledgment, again I find this very poor customer service and lacking professionalism.

Lovely food and always served by really pleasant staff. The pancakes were delicious and the portion size is really good. Can't wait to visit again.

We went for our breakfast this morning lots to choose from on the menu (difficult to choose they all looked good) went for the good old English breakfast which was delicious, service was great very accommodating for our party (couple of young ones) will be going back for sure.
