Emilio's Italian Cuisine in Doncaster

Spot on food 10/10 couldn’t fault a thing and service was also amazing! We had lasagna and pizza and both were amazing! Piping hot food with perfect taste!

I have been to Emilio's many times as I live locally. But after my meal tonight, I left needing to share my experience. The service was phenomenal from all members staff. Whilst the staff were young, the standards and quality were brilliant. All were very pleasant, professional and experienced. The food... just Wow. The lasagne was to die for and so was the meat feast style pizza. The restaurant was lovely and warm, and was one of the best I have had in a long time. Thank you everyone and credit to the owners.

Went here for the first time this week. Excellent staff and tasty food. Portions were big and lots of variety in the special dishes. House wine wasn't that great and tiramisu was a little disappointing but mains and starters + general atmosphere and attentiveness if staff made up for it!

My inaugural visit to Emilio's left a lasting impression, albeit not entirely favorable. On a Friday evening, accompanied by friends, we were warmly welcomed upon arrival and promptly escorted to our designated table. The menu was reasonably priced and exhibited a commendable quality relative to their cost, with ample portion sizes to satisfy our appetites. Regrettably, the evening took an unfavorable turn when, near to the end of our meal, I expressed the desire to have the leftovers of my dish packaged to bring home. To my dismay, before I could make such a request, our waitress, Trish (Patricia), abruptly seized the plate from my grasp and hastily departed, seemingly without notice. Promptly realizing the situation, I endeavored to clarify matters with another waitress in the vicinity. In a disheartening turn of events, Trish returned and, rather brusquely, informed her colleague that she had already disposed of the contents, casting unfounded blame in my direction. Notably, Trish neglected to offer any acknowledgment or apology, choosing instead to speak over me in conversation with the other waitress. Subsequently, she maintained a dismissive demeanor for the remainder of the evening, leaving an indelible mark of discourtesy. This lamentable encounter prompts me to reflect on the numerous adverse reviews this establishment has garnered, primarily stemming from subpar customer service. Trish's conduct, in particular, single-handedly marred what could have otherwise been an enjoyable dining experience. Regrettably, based on this unfortunate incident, we have resolved not to visit Emilio's in the future and cannot, in good conscience, recommend it to acquaintances. Despite the commendable quality of the cuisine, the overall experience was overshadowed by an extremely poor customer service.

My wife and I dined here with friends on Saturday evening. All went, generally well, with the starters. I had the Minestrone soup ( a touch salty and no vermicelli) but the others in our party were very happy with their Garlic mushrooms and Melanzane Parmigiana. The drinks were good. Unfortunately when it came to the main course, one person had ordered Lasagne. The dish was wrong! Lasagne should be (and has always been) Bolognese sauce, pasta sheets and bechamel sauce in alternating layers and then baked in the oven. Emilio's serves it as multiple layers of pasta sheets rolled like a Swiss roll and topped with Bolognese sauce and mozzarella cheese and put under a grill. This made the dish very stodgy and not particularly pleasant to eat. When we were asked if everything was ok we pointed out that the Lasagne was not right. The proprietor told us that they had done it this way for years from an old Italian recipe. When we said that we had never had Lasagne like it she stormed off on a huff. Not good customer service!!

So where do I start.. Visited tonight 23/9/23 at first the place was very welcoming we were shown to our table upstairs, sat down, and our drinks order was taken. This is where it started to go down hill. Drinks arrived and orders taken. Less minutes of or order being taken we wanted to cancel one of the items but was rudely told by the lady in charge that it was already being prepared I'm sure how as the note pad was still in her hand and had not gone to the kitchen yet?? Anyway, our starters came so we had those and the mains were served. Fillet steak is pretty much that no sides and no offer or side when ordered the rest of the order was good. During our meal we were asked 3 times if we had finished when we clearly we hadn't. When we had actually finished the rude manger lady was over heard telling younger staff not to take our plates away. The whole experience was ruined by a manager on a power trip. I've never had such bad customer service my advice is eat elsewhere. To top the night off we approached to pay our bill and asked to split it between two cards to which the manger said how much would you like to pay on each? You cannot make this up Should be called Karen's Dinners Luckily could laugh about it but really did damped the mood We will not be returning

Enjoyed another wedding anniversary meal (!) at Emelios - excellent food and service with a smile. Reasonable prices (for Bawtry) . Looking forward to our next visit and would highly recommend.

Visited with a mix of family and friends recently for a special occasion, were served fairly quick and food didn't take long to appear. Food was amazing and all thoroughly enjoyed. However, service definitely could do with improving. Spoons were brought out after ordering for those having pasta dishes and knives taken away - one of our party had lasagna and said she would prefer to keep her knife. She was asked again for her to hand her knife over and had to repeat herself a couple of times to say she would like to keep it. Similar situation occurred when bringing parmesan to the table - not everyone was asked if they would like it, three of us asked if we could have some on our pasta dishes. We were met with 'are you sure? I wouldn't recommend it. It can be quite sour with that dish' when we said that was fine, we want the parmesan, the same sentence was repeated. We all felt this was very odd, if we have asked for this we would like it, we shouldn't have to be questioned multiple times. We had a jug of water on our table, which, as one of our party noticed, had a large chip in/chunk of glass missing. She pointed this out to one of the young waitresses when asking for some more water, to be told they would bring a new jug. They didn't, the same jug was brought back. We had a child in our group - what if the chunk of glass had been in the water and had been swallowed by him!? A few candles were also lit on our table halfway through the meal - very odd as most restaurants don't allow these due to health and safety reasons, proved right by our dessert menu catching on fire when placed on the table. When about finished, a young waitress was clearing unused cutlery and glasses off the table, when she swiped a half glass of wine. We noticed and had to tell her it was still being drunk - she didn't even check. Throughout service the waitresses were constantly leaning over each of us and our food whilst we were eating - not great. Coming to pay the bill, we had each worked out exactly what we needed to pay for and headed downstairs to pay, only to be met with a blunt 'we only take a maximum of 3 cards for groups over 6 people'. Don't see what the problem was when we knew what we needed to pay for - we weren't asking them to do mental maths and split the bill between 7 of us. This was not mentioned when booking, or on arrival. Just felt the whole service was very poor - it was majority of our partys first visit to emilios and many of us have said we won't be returning. It's a shame as the food was beautiful.

Cozy surroundings, family run business. Freshly cooked proper pizzas and homemade pasta. Good gluten free options on mains. I had the chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce with garlic and herb potatoes and fresh vegetables with a side of butter.

It’s over 30 years since my last visit , back then was always lovely . Arrived and was seated , served in rush but it was literally empty from 6.30 to 9 when we left . Specials were written on a scrap piece of paint , not very detailed . To be fair I’ll not go deep into the experience but started cheap and definitely not authentic , mains not great , desserts short changed and drinks costly , generally pricey all young with average , perhaps below average food . Certainly wasn’t the best return, I’d say if it was busy I’d give a bit if leniency , but there can’t have been more than 3 tables , just not great good . The young girls serving nice enough , the older lady very abrupt , not good customer focus .

The staff were very attentive and the food was great, it was just a shame that when ordering deserts we were told that half the deserts were unavailable as the kitchen had closed. They should let people know that their kitchen closes at 9pm on a Friday when you arrive

We turned up without a booking as we were staying nearby in a B&B. Staff were all polite and helpful, and the food we had was really lovely - I had a nice chicken breast with mushroom sauce, and hubby had veal. All freshly cooked and very tasty. Would imagine it's quite lively in warmer weather during the summer months, with seating areas on the balconies and outside, but this was still fairly busy on a drizzly October Thursday evening.

Came to emilios last weekend with my husband and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!! Food was served promptly and with many smiling waitresses who were very tentative, food was excellent and atmosphere was great, felt like we were in Italy ! :)

This place had long been a favourite. Visited last night, ordered a glass of house red ( the only one available by the glass.) when it arrived it was served chilled and was like vinegar, it didn't get any better after leaving it to breathe so I asked if there was an alternative. She brought me the same type wine in another glass and informed me that if it wasn’t warm enough they could make it warmer for me !! Starters were lovely but had shrunk since last time. My husband hadn’t even swallowed his last mouthful before the plates were whisked away and mains were served! The pizza was luke warm and the lasagne tasteless, again the minute we put our forks down the waitress was at the table clearing away and bill was issued. We were in and out in less than 50 minutes. I was asked if everything was ok , when I said “ not really” she never asked why. The place looks like it is run by kids , who are lacking knowledge and without proper management and guidance on shop floor make for a disappointing visit.

Awful awful experience. Third visit to this restaurant had two decent meals before with nice atmosphere however this was by far our worst restaurant ever visited . Starter came disappointed at the size and taste and side of sticky boiling hot just out of microwave...

Disappointing Took two friends because our last meal there had been so good. Unfortunately we were not so lucky this time. The Crab Thermidor starter was very poor, I had recommended the Fillet steak to my friend but the tough lump he received was nothing...

We had hoped for a good meal… got an excellent one. The chef really can cook good tasty food. Good efficient, friendly service in a clean pleasant environment. And joy o joy the background music was not quietly background. Well spaced tables enabled conversation.

We went to Emilio's last night for a meal to catch up with friends. After being seated and given a menu so big, you could barely handle it without taking one of the other guests eye out... and after only being seated for a few...

We had a very enjoyable meal here with the food being very tasty. It is a bit expensive, the meal working out at roughly £45 per person for 3 courses with drinks, although part of this was because all side dishes have to be bought...

Went here for the first time last night, lovely atmosphere. Plenty of staff but not obtrusive, did not rush you. Food was well cooked, and very tasty with generous portion size, though on some dishes the presentation could be improved. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely shocking!!.. don’t waste your money.. the presentation of the food was terrible.. just looked like the food was swimming in sauce.. the chicken pate was bitter with horrendous taste. The salmon was like rubber as though it was microwaved.. took one bite & left...

Read the rave reviews and wanted to give the place a try. It’s OK. Arrived and greeted nicely and shown to the table. It has that way that some places do where the service is too full on in some ways and misses the point...

We visited as a family on a Friday evening. The staff were all young but friendly and courteous. The restaurant felt a little chilly, but not too much of a problem. The starters were ok, the prawns and whitebait better than the melanzana parmigiana, which contained far too much oil. The steak was good, a little too much sauce, but better than not having enough. The side vegetables (charged separately!) were also quite oily, and we had to send back the chef’s roast potatoes because they were swimming in oil. Desserts were fine, had to order ice cream separately to go with the crepes suzette, as they were a little plain without an accompaniment. Two scoops of vanilla ice cream were charged at £4.00! I would actually expect cream, or ice cream, to come with a dessert! All in all it was an average quality meal in Yorkshire but at London prices. We had house wine, as the bottles were quite extortionately priced.

it was like going back to the 80s, a very average Italian restaurant with a menu and food straight from 1985!!!

I visited here Tuesday with 2 friends, food was oK, drinks very expensive, but what really lets this place down is the staff are so damn rude. I had to query the bill, and was basically told to add it up again myself and check it as they were too busy, upon checking 3 times it was still incorrect. The Eat out to Help Out Scheme is on offer here, but then was told it didnt apply to desserts?? it was just how they did things!!

Excellent service and food. Both starters and main courses were very tasty and well presented. The waitresses were very pleasant and smiled a lot. All in all a really nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

Went on Tuesday night booked for three for 7pm was shown straight to our table. Have been to this restaurant on several occasions and always had great service and food. On this occasion they got the wrong meal for my wife so she ended up eating the garlic bread as her main. There was little apology and no offer of a drink or anything. We ate our mains and waited ten minutes for the table to be cleared. No offer of coffees or desserts. I asked for the bill and it was correct. It is the first time I have ever written a review as I will never return. As for a tip keep whistling. Working in a service industry I was appalled.

We had a beautiful meal at Emilios last night, as had our first post lockdown UK meal out with friends. The service was excellent and all x3 courses were delicious. The owners are doing a great job ensuring Emilios has a bright future in the new “ way of life”... the restaurant had a great atmosphere as people enjoyed time with family and friends.

both had lasagne with a foccacha to share good quality food with good waiting staff highly recommended

We visited here for a family celebration and the service is amazing . The chicken dishes are fab but the dessert “pancakes with brandy” is just wow so much so that people from other tables were so impressed that they had to order .

Went to Emilio's again for our Xmas "do" after 5-a-side football at Harworth. A quick pint downstairs whilst Emelio took our orders.Pity no real ale beer on tap only Perroni. Most ordered the 3 course special menu which was value at £16.95.Upstairs to be seated quickly & another round of drinks. The place was fairly busy for a Thurs night & busier than last year.Enjoyed my selection of food & also a couple of large glasses of the Montepulciano house red. Bawtry Xmas decorations looked amazing along the main street.

Having been regulars at Emilio's 15-20 yrs ago we realized we hadn't eaten there for 10 yrs. So: Saturday night dinner for two! Was delighted with the lounge area they've created out of what used to be ground floor dining space. The boss hasn't changed at all, but he has built a young, but exceptional front of house team who were on the ball, efficient, professional and an absolute credit to him. Calamari and Pate starters were generous and delicious. Main course Pizza and Steak Dolcelatte were delicious and very generous( they're fine with doggy bags). Steak was exceptionally good and sauce really well balanced. Rum and Raisen ice-cream and orange sorbet deserts were lovely as was the bottle of Bardolino. We have lovely memories of Emilio's as it's the first restaurant we took our daughter to( in her car seat when she was 2 weeks old). I think the food and service we received tonight were possibly even better than we remembered. Everything from lighting and music levels, temperature inside the dining area, etc was spot on and well judged. Fantastic to see such a good kitchen supported by such a good front of house team. It's the art of the restaurateur!

Went to Emilio’s for lunch today. We were the only ones in the whole restaurant. We were handed a lunch menu and chose the cannelloni, lasagne and cheesy garlic bread with a glass of wine and a Diet Coke. We received our food and drinks quickly, but that was probably the best bit of the whole meal. The music was some sort of funky dance music and didnt fit the atmosphere. The waitresses/kitchen staff were sat through the restaurant near the kitchen and we heard every word of their conversation - the verdict from Parliament and their views, the fact that one lady had been paying for fibre broadband but hadn’t got fibre broadband, discussing the new waitress about the start and to top it off....where to find the frozen cannelloni (in the chest freezer!). I understand the need to use frozen food, but I don’t want to hear that when I’m paying £9.50 for a meal they are getting out the freezer and reheating. To top it off, I burnt my hand on my dish (which the normal thing to do would be warn the consumer that it was scalding hot) and our drinks were left empty with us having to call over the waitress to order some more. Not once did anyone check that our meal was okay, it seemed more important that they discussed what they were watching on tv at the minute! Please remind staff that when the restaurant is quiet, it might be worth having their conversations elsewhere - especially when discussing new hires and where the frozen food is kept. A real shame considering the normal standard of food and hospitality that we had received on previous visits.

We enjoyed a birthday meal for my daughter’s 21st birthday here. We had a variety of starters and mains which everyone enjoyed. The service was excellent and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Thanks!

I have been enjoying food for over 10 years at Emilio's and my wife and I always go back for our anniversary. The food has always been presented as requested from the menu and the staff are always polite ad obliging. When Italians visit our work place, which is often, I recommend Emilio's and they always give it the thumbs up. I would say the wine can be a little expensive for the choices available, but as a non drinker this never impacts my choice of restaurants.

Took our 3 Grandchildren to Emilio's for an evening meal during their short holiday stay with us. We booked the meal for 6.30 pm. Bawtry is around 15 miles from our house. There are a fine array of shops & restaurants along the front of a large parking area. The last time we went to Bawtry was with some friends who took us for an evening meal and parked in this area for free. Emilio's restaurant is upstairs. The tables are set out with white linen table cloths with comfortable surroundings. The food was reasonable and not too expensive. The service was good and the owner, Emilio, was very attentive. We left the restaurant around 8.00 pm . When we arrived back at our car there was a parking fine of £50 on my windscreen :( Apparently Bawtry council have just decided to charge parking on the front of these shops/restaurants, charging until 10.00 pm at night, every night. This will make the council around £30,000 a year extra for their coffers (To spend on what?) It will also reduce the takings of a lot of these shops/restaurants as people will go elsewhere to enjoy an evening with out the additional cost. REMEMBER TO GET A PARKING TICKET - If you don't want an additional cost at the end of a nice evening!!

We called in as a party of four and, given some of the previous reviews, we were a little reticent as to what it would be like. We couldn’t fault it - from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Yes, the staff were very young but they looked incredibly smart and were efficient without being fussy. We sat in a lounge area with a drink and the menus and were given enough time to choose without being rushed to your table. Food was excellent - Pate, Calamari and Parma ham etc. Mains were superb too with the Chicken Cacciatore and the Sea Bass particularly worthy of comment. Crepes were delicious and I personally thought that it was very reasonably priced for drinks, starters, mains and dessert.As a group, we will definitely return.

Arrived at the restaurant to find the waitresses were school kids which is not their fault but id did not fill me with confidence, anyway we were seen to our table & ordered some prosecco, when it arrived it was still (no bubbles at all) which they exchanged & the second glasses were better, we ordered veal escalope which when i have ordered it in other Italian restaurants it comes coated in breadcrumbs & is usually a good portion, when it arrived it was the thickness of a slice of thinly cut bacon but half the size, i got 3 of these which i would have thought embarrassing to even serve up to customers after the main course (if you can call it that) we decided to try the deserts to fill us up a bit, we asked one of the waitresses if the deserts were home made & we were told they were so we ordered a cheese cake & a tiramisu when they arrived you could see they were cash & carry deserts & not home made at all, apart from the school girl waitresses (cheap labour) & the fact there was not an Italian in sight this was honestly the worst meal i have ever been served in my 62 years existance & i for one will never be returning to Emilio's ever again !

Visited this restaurant with friends for dinner and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the restaurant had a lovely ambiance and the service was excellent. Crab Thermidor was delicious but the fillet steak in sauce was amazing! The steak was quite large for a fillet steak but was cooked to perfection, tender an juicy, the vegetables and fries were good too. The salmon was a large portion too and my friend said it was delicious also. There was a good selection of wines to choose from. We only had 2 desserts between the 4 of us, my friend had the crepes which he enjoyed but I had the cheesecake which unfortunately was a bit dry and did not enjoy it but we had a lovely evening and we will definitely eat here again.

A Monday night dinner led to our first visit It won’t be our last Superb menus Great wine And a terrace table overlooking the courtyard Flambé pancakes was a superb Finnish to a great meal.

Was taken here with a party of business colleagues .It was a shame it was quiet on the night but our group made a great night.Nice selection of drinks served in a comfortable lounge where our orders were taken followed by an excellent meal in the restaurant .I had the fillet steak dolcelatte which was cooked perfect.I would definitely come back again.My only criticism would be that if I was paying for a group booking it is wrong to put a 10% service charge on the bill especially when a lot of money is being spent on food and drink

Dined here last night. Only two other tables occupied. Waiting area was cold and unwelcoming. One staff member over keen (understatement) to the point where he was irritating. Food average - have definitely had better. Avoid calzone pizza at all costs. This place used to be a gem, but very disappointed on latest visit. Menu online does not reflect prices in menu - obviously extremely out of date. Won't be going back.

Emilos is a restaurant that is set back of the main road but it’s worth a visit. We order boar sausage they were cooked beautifully. foccia garlic was the right amount not overpowering like some place do it. The main course was two pizza and then were the best I have ever had right amount of toppings not a overload where the toppings slide of the pizza. Leaving the best for last was the dessert I had a biscoffi cheesecake and a fudge cake that was really nice definitely recommend the cheese cake best I have had.Honestly Emilio is a restaurant that deserves a visit

Starters, mains and desert were all of excellent quality. The staff were all polite and professional. The staff did seem abit sheepish around the manager but that could be related to the broken glasses and stood together chatting. Either way the food was lush, the atmosphere was romantic and cosy and the staff were always lovely. Nice little find in Bawtry.

The food is ok but a bit pricey for what it is. The 'kids' waiting on the tables are run ragged and look petrified of the owner, which I am not surprised at because he belittles them constantly.

Trying to find somewhere in Bawtry that was quiet and discovered Emilio’s. Very nice food and great service. Would recommend.

Visited for the first time today and had a good value lunch. Shared platter and a lovely Lotus biscotti cheesecake. House white was almost undrinkable, but the food was goodesigned, and the waitress was loverly.

Fab dinner, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, I had chicken, son had steak, hubby had veal and daughter had chicken and rice, all cooked to perfection, portion sizes were spot on and we had a selection of vegetables to share. The setting of the restaurant is lovely, it's in a courtyard and has a wrap around balcony, I should imagine it's even lovelier in the summer, if you like Italian food definitely give this a visit.

Visited Emilios a Few times on both friends and family get togethers and they never fail to impress!

Went on Saturday, waited 45 minutes for a pre-booked table. Food was ok and no complaints there so compliments to the chef. Low review is simply down to who I think was the owner or at least a supervisor, and his disgusting attitude to his staff. A few staff members looked on the brink of crying and they were all young no older than 18-20.

Awful, waited 45mins for our table,then the meal was slow in coming, the staff were ran ragged and the manager/ owner shouted, demeaned, swore and was rude to the staff who looked like they were about to burst into tears at times. Was looking forward to a relaxing family meal but was sorely disappointed. Couldn’t wait to leave to be honest which was a shame as it was a special family occasion. Will not be back and certainly wouldn’t recommend.

Neat little restaurant tucked in the corner by the Bawtry House. Reservations needed on the weekend and sometimes during the week. Staff are nice and move quickly to serve guests. The kitchen staff can be a bit loud so it is better to sit further away. The pizza was incredible and the dessert was also delicious.

Went Saturday 6pm, I complained to the Young Person Waiter who served us when he came to ask if everything was ok I had had 2 cuts from my fillet by this time, I mentioned and showed the Young Person Water my Steak which had Fat going down one side which I informed him I have never had a Fatty Fillet ever, he just stood their shocked not knowing what to say after around 30 seconds I said you need to pass it on to the Chef, which he said sorry I will.

Its been a while since we visited and decided to return for a birthday dinner for 10 people. A great evening, good service, nice menu (£10 plate of pasta), and a pleasant atmosphere-good value

Waited 3 years to try this restaurant since moving to Bawtry and will be at least 3 years before we try again. Bland food and atmosphere. Tried passing pizza off as focaccia bread and were missing the desserts we wanted. Not the experience we’d hoped for and they missed out on circa £30 extra spend.

Not booked it but called in and had a couple of drinks,Bar staff were great and although was very busy fitted the two of us in for a meal,The food was beautiful and the staff brilliant Highly recommended

Have not been to Emilios for a very long time, but we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has been extended which makes it a great restaurant. Visited with friends and had a lovely meal, very tasty food. Would recommend and visit again soon.

It is rare if ever that I have eaten out and being full after the experience, Good starters garlic bread and cheese, garlic bread. Burger for the main course with very good chips! - wish I'd got a pizza though, And some dessert which I could only eat a little,

Enjoyed a lovely meal at Emilios for a works do. Set back from main square, very quaint with great atmosphere. Nice lounge area to wait in before table set. Tried the ‘sea food’ linguini, very nice. Great night had by all

Felt like going back in time stepping in here and not in a good way. Menus were like something from Faulty Towers, enormous and cumbersome with a big stick to hold it with. Very old fashioned.

We're were suppose to be coming to eat at your establishment for a family occasion and because there was a family member with nut allergy they refused to provide for this person I asked for the list of allergens which they refused. Compleatly disgusted with this I cancelled the table for 20 people. Shame on you Emilios.

Could not fault the food we all loved it, however we booked a table for 8pm and didn’t get any food until 9:30.

We were out with two friends and had agreed that it was time we visited Emilios again. We were not disappointed! The food was fantastic and the service efficient, polite and friendly. For certain we will be coming back

Ok, the food was nice..the atmosphere was nice...the service was superb...but...although we tipped the waitress as she was great..I have since learnt from a friend (whose son worked there a while back) that the owner..Emilio..keeps the tips. Yep, the boss in effects steals off the staff. To some that's no big deal..to me it is, hence the poor rating

Arrived in Bawtry having not pre-booked anywhere to eat on a Saturday night when we arrived at Emilios who had a table available. Staff were friendly, smiling and very attentive. I am gluten free and the restaurant had plenty of options to accomodate this. We chose mussels to start along with crab Thermidor off the specials menu. We had a chicken dish each with Italian potatoes and asparagus. The food was piping hot, of an outstanding quality and taste. We would happily recommend this restaurant to family and friends and will be returning. Thank you.

Can't understand some of the other comments on this venue ,there were 6 of us and we were all very satisfied with everything .

Emilio’s always delivers excellent food. The menu has a great range from top quality pizza and pasta to more elaborate dishes such as veal milanese and fillet Barolo. The staff are always very friendly, the wine list is fantastic and the atmosphere is warm.

Booked for a meal with some special friends. Both ladies Ordered the halibut on the specials board and sent it back twice. Not cooked, was like mush and appeared to be frozen. Was then charged for 1 of the meals despite be By told we would not be charged. Lady who took payment didn’t even offer an apology. Paid £141.00 for what can only be described as disgraceful. Will not be returning

Agree with the other posts, it definitely needs updating. First Italian restaurant I have been in for many many years that didn’t know what a Negroni was! I have been in pizza restaurants recently that serve Negronis, so it’s pretty poor show when they don’t know in an Italian in a posh bit of S Yorks!

Agree with previous reviews it needs to be uodated. Its stuck in the 80's and so is the menu. Food was ok but not much of it. Calamari was frozen straight pieces. My husband had a steak which was quite big although he asked for medium rare and it was blue, it was cold on the middle. I only had lemonade to drink all night and i didnt feel good the next day. Wouldnt recommend.

After having a terrible frozen pizza for our sons 18th birthday meal we had given this a miss. However, 10 years later we decided to give it another chance. Absolutely nothing has changed, we’d stepped back in time! As we waited downstairs to have a pre dinner drink we asked for g&t;’s, no choice just Gordon’s and Schweppes with lemon, not acceptable. Then Emilio asked if we were ready to order, we hadn’t been given a menu but no apology was made, it seemed to be our fault we didn’t have one! The menu is exactly the same as it was ten years ago. I had a risotto which was far to salty and my husband had a calzone, his favourite, which was very bland, mainly cheese. The garlic bread and house red were very nice and the atmosphere was lovely. However, we will be giving this place a miss for another ten years I’m afraid. In need of serious updating in every way.

As a larger party of 7 we had booked to celebrate a family occasion expecting this restaurant to be a suitable place. Starters were nice but on arrival of the mains we ordered a round of drinks (red wine for steaks ect), we asked 4 times for these to be brought out and we had all finished our meals before eventually the owner came and brought them. He was not apologetic/understanding at all and when we said we did not want to pay for these drinks as we had finished the main he simply stated 'fine ill take them away'. The mains were also bland, the 'fillet' steak was not fillet (which we knew as butchers ourselves) making it ridiculously over priced! so over all very rude, poor food quality which left us very disappointed.

13 of us were badly let down at a nearby restaurant ‘The Town House’, and we walked into Emilios at 8 pm asking if they could accommodate us.

Having visited this restaurant as our special place for many years we returned this evening for our night out with no children. The young girl who welcomed us was lovely and helpful and made us feel welcome. Our waiter was also fantastic all evening and could not do enough for us, our starters and main courses we faultless so we decided to stay for dessert! Our crepe arrived stone cold, yes it had ice cream in but the crepe itself was not cooked?? We ask very nicely for the crepe to be warm enough to eat, it comes back to the table so hard we are unable to cut open with our fork....clearly had been in a microwave. These crepes are not cooked to order, after sending back I hear the very rude owner screaming and shouting at the poor young waiter about what MY problem was!!! How awful we felt for this young member of staff who had been nothing but a wonderful reflection of his restaurant, with only the owner letting it down. And how uncomfortable we felt as a paying customer hearing the owner say these horrible things about us, bill paid and tip left for the extremely patient staff who are doing a great job under the circumstances.

We visited Emilios for a family get together. They were, as always, very accommodating with number changes etc. The drinks were served by a very articulate young lady who seemed to share our sense of humour. We were then shown to our table and as it was extremely warm all the balcony doors were open to make our dining experience even more pleasurable. Top notch!!

Went here last night and was fortunate enough to sit on the terrace, we could have been anywhere not just Bawtry it was lovely. The staff were very attentive, and the food was lovely. Good portion sizes, and the house wine we had was very good! Will definitely be back again!

Not the best of experiences, the Owner was shouting at his staff in the bar and using 4 letters words (f**k etc) I called him over and explained I dident expect such bad manners in front of my wife and friends, he apologised but still kept shouting at his staff all night..even in the restaurant. The service was very slow, we waited quite some time for both the starters and main course and the quality of the food was poor, very bland. Not what I would expect for a £200 bill for 4 diners

Went with a party of friends last night. The table was booked for 30 people so we were expected! Arrived at restaurant and headed for the tiny bar. The poor young lady on the bar was on her own and 24 of us waiting for a drink. Each time she tried to serve someone the head waiter/owner kept appearing from upstairs shouting for table water for upstairs. It took us well over half an hour to be served our drinks. Why on earth there weren't more staff behind the bar is beyond me.

Visited Emilio's on Saturday evening (9th June). We have not eaten here for years so we though we would try it out.

Went with my in laws and husband on Saturday night, really enjoyed it. Had garlic mushrooms to start, yes the sauce is watery with bits of cheese on top but was very tasty, my husband had the ribs to start and the meat fell off the bone and I was a bit jealous once I’d tried them. For main we had the veal and the beef dishes and they were very nice the veal was super soft and the beef dishes were proper joints of meat! It was a great night and the staff were very nice too!

I went here as treat for my birthday based on good reviews but left disappointed.

Visited one Saturday night with my partner. His starter of bruchetta looked lovely, mine however was very disappointing. I had the garlic mushrooms. These were served in a very watery cream sauce. You could hardly taste the garlic and there were strips of hard cheese stuck the the bottom. It had clearly been stood and then reheated. The bread basket that was served before the meal was laughable, 2 tiny rolls (clearly not homemade) with the cheap butter packed in foil wrapping.

Me and my wife visited emelios last night.... for yrs it’s been our favourite Italian and where I have always recommended people to visit. Firstly we had a table booked for 9pm however I had to ask at 9.25 for someone to take our order and got to our table at 9.30. Was 10pm before got out starter..... gone 10.30 before our main.. and both were poor to average in comparison to previous visits. The waitress asked if my wife would like black pepper even though her meal wasn’t even on the table... I had to get up and go to the bar for drinks as ide sat there with an empty glass for 15mins and no one was interested. Lastly and which made me really angry after asking for the bill and leaving the money £100 for an £86. The girl came to collect it took it downstairs and never returned.... after 10 mins I asked if someone was bringing my change.... I was still planning on leaving a tip despite it being a poor evening, however certainly not £14 for terrible service. however the waitress returned another 5 mins later and pretty much through just the money on the table with an attitude, Not with the receipt and the bill in the folder like any other time I have ever paid a bill in a restaurant.... she had obviously thought they were keeping the £100. All in all a terrible experience and we will not be returning despite acquenting this restaurant for the past 10yrs

We have been eating at Emilios since he first opened and it has always been quality food and service
