I’ve been there a few times, the food are always amazing. But that’s the first time I had their Sunday Roast. We ordered, wagyu rump, lamb shoulder, pork belly set. All are amazing! The only downside might be we were sitting nearby the entrance and it was quite cold when the door opened and cold wind blew in.

Elnecot is a wonderful dining experience. The concept behind the food of British inspired tapas is fully realised in the tastiness and variety of all the dishes. We had five sharing dishes plus bread plus pudding between two people and were happily replete. None of this going home hungry nonsense here. A favourite? It has to be the loaded roasties. Pure delight. Atmos and service also first rate. Do yourself a favour this winter and visit Elnecot.

Good quality food and service, but the serving size has been reduced, the Sunday roast now is just a sliver of meat and a few vegetables when it used to be a good portion and is no longer worth the price. Unfortunate because previous experiences at this restaurant have been great

Elnecot has a minimalist aesthetic to it. Fairly clean lines. Nothing resembling cosy. However the food more than makes up for its austere look. We ordered 5 small plates: ciabatta, onion galette, crab cakes, roasted aubergine & a loaded roasti. All of the dishes were intriguing and extremely tasty. Thumbs up for all of them. Our server was helpful and was adeptly able to answer all of our menu questions. The neighbourhood is cool & well worth exploring. And a special shout out to the yuzu sake negroni.

Roast dinner was brilliant, good portion size and the roast beef was some of the best I’ve ever had! Make sure you book as there wasn’t room for walk ins while we were there. Lovely staff members who were all kind and smiling despite it being very busy and great wine pairings provided. Only slight niggle was the restaurant seemed quite smokey - not sure if there was an extractor fan issue but we all came out smelling of roast (not in a good way) and you could see the smoke in the air!

We had an 8pm booking and the air when we arrived into the restaurant was very smokey and hard to breathe in. After a while it made our eyes water and sting. We asked the waitress if there was any way to get some fresh air which they replied that it often happened and they would open the back door. Unfortunately this didn't help. the music was pretty loud too as it was a Friday i guess so was hard to talk with both the volume and air.The food we got was quite nice, the small plates varied alot in price with most of the meat based ones being twice the price which I guess it fair. The BBQ aubergine curry and pork belly were nice. The Welsh wagyu burger was okay, a little lacking flavour.

This was a lovely lunch. The restaurant has a lunch menu, as well as specials that change each day. These include soup of the day and sandwich of the day. We opted for the soup and sandwich of the day, which was mixed spicy veg soup, and beef, pickles, and hollandaise sauce sandwich. Both were delicious! there was so much beef in this sandwich, and it was cooked perfectly. The soup was also beautiful, it was so rich and tasty. The pork belly was also delicious. it was served with hash browns and a fried egg. the pork belly was perfect. It was sooo delicious and there was a good amount of pork belly. The hash browns were also very nice, and went with the pork belly very well. The fried egg was cooked perfectly, with crispy outsides and a dippy yolk. The only thing i would change about this meal was the amount of sauce put on the top of it. The sauce was very nice and went very well with the meal, but it was a little much. I would have preferred this sauce to be served on the side, or just a little less put on the top. i could even see my egg! but apart from that very small issue, it was all perfect. The fries were very nice too. The staff are lovely, and the service was very fast. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back.

Had been planning coming here for ages for our first date night after having a baby. Food was lovely and staff smiley but at the end of the day... food served without our wine, so we waited. We waited ages. We asked someone about the wine. They apologised and said it would be with us. It never came. We asked someone else (food served long ago by now). He brought us a red wine but when we said we ordered white he said we ordered the wrong thing and it was on us. We accepted this with a smile cause we're the empathetic type but then checked the receipt which showed we were right so asked again. Correct wine eventually arrived, but now food gone except for a few cold bits we saved for the wine (which we didn't really want after all the delays). I'm sure this place is lovely and I appreciate I may sound like a nob moaning about first world issues but we just really needed a nice night after some recent struggles and left feeling a bit grim. First world problems sure and these things happen but its just sad when you normally can't afford to go somewhere nice but you've had a really tough few months so treat yourself only to leave wishing you stayed home. I ended up leaving my sunglasses at the table as we left (& Im not including this in my review score because thats it's on me - although I don't think this all helped as my partner was upset) but a perfect icing on the cake of a sad vibes evening. 🥹

Overall a very good spot for a brunch. We choose the bottomless drinks and 3 dishes. Our favorite was the mushroom sandwich, amazing taste explosion. We also had the crispy pork belly that was good but lacked a bit of taste on the pork belly itself, dish as whole complemented that. We also had the lamb shoulder, not as good as I would hope it to be. The salad to the lamb shoulder was although really good. Personnel was very kind and had a high service mind. A bit to expensive for the quality

Always warm and welcoming service in Elnecot. The general vibe of the restaurant is a blend of casual/tasting menu. Tapas with none Spanish dishes, it’s a win! Having had a bottomless brunch here I can fully vouch that they look after you being quick to take your order and fast serving you the drink you’re after. Food is always out of this world with flavour, portioning and price. One of the best roasts I have had, period. The lamb was incredibly tender, the potatoes were cooked to perfection, and the stuffing was divine. There was not a bad bite on the plate. Unfortunately, I can't rate the dessert, as we ordered a few of these and waited more than half an hour, just to be told the ticket got lost and it would be another 15 minutes. At this point we had to leave for another event, so the sweet cravings went unsatisfied. The restaurant is also incredibly loud, with high ceilings and poor acoustics, so if you want a nice conversation, it isn't the place for that.

My first visit to this venue was a pleasant one. It’s set in what us more experienced folk would describe as ‘trendy’ lots of high ceiling pipes and wires on show and bare exposed surfaces, it looks great tbh. Staff were very welcoming and service very good indeed. There is a full menu that was very tempting with some really great looking options, however it was a Monday and after over indulging at the weekend it was time for sensible choices. They do a soup of the day (from memory it wa carrot with coconut) along with a sandwich for £9 and it is great value. There is a choice of a round 3 or 4 sandwiches all living put together on fresh ciabatta, my chicken was excellent. The soup was smooth tasty and piping hot and definitely well made, with no tins involved during the process I’m sure. I would recommend this place for all times of day not sure if open at night but for breakfast brunch and lunch it’s fantastic

Heard so many rave reviews but we were completely disappointed. The restaurant was so loud and unfortunately we were sat next to where all the servers decided to stand and chat which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Despite there being lots of empty tables there was a 40 minute wait on food. When it arrived it was so disappointing the nut roast was incredibly spicey and the vegetables generally bland - not worth the money. My husband did however enjoy his lamb! Servers generally seemed scared of coming over as we had to flag them down several times despite them standing there.

The Best Bottomless Brunch I’ve experienced. Elnecot is a favourite spot for food due to the sensible portions and high quality of food. I saw their £26 bottomless brunch online and it lived up to expectations. Steer clear of the Lager which was a bit tasteless, the cocktails came thick and fast. Service was out of this world being checked on every 5 minutes or so - we definitely made it worthwhile going bottomless for the 2 hours you are given. Visited after good reviews but whilst it’s a trendy Ancoats eatery found it to be very disappointing and won’t be returning. My friend and I had the burger/fries and prawn curry and both were poor. Fries were hard and the curry was tiny and the prawns were in the sauce but still had the shells on - no wet wipe or bowl provided. Bread was burnt. Waiter asked if all was great and we said no - he just left it at that and walked off. If you are going to ask the question then be prepared for the answer! Much much better in the area.

Looking at their lower ratings you can see the owner and his attitude seems to be the main problem. Their Christmas menu was only served past 5pm two Saturday’s before Christmas (which I thought was strange) but it didn’t state that on the actual Christmas menu online and wasn’t communicated when making a booking or paying a deposit. It wasn’t communicated in the many e-mails back and forth beforehand or the telephone call when the deposit was taken. I was asked to submit pre-orders 1 week before with no mention of which menus could or couldn’t be chosen from. With that in mind you wouldn’t think there were any restrictions in place. Pre-orders were put in the week before as agreed and I was told for a 2:30pm booking on a Saturday they only do the brunch menu which is basically breakfast akin to cafe. I asked for a call to discuss, where I was rudely and abruptly told they have parties in all the time early afternoon and they like the brunch menu. Which I don’t dispute. I said my party wouldn’t be interested in that as we were gathering for a Christmas get together and it would have been good for them to point it out and communicate when the booking was made and also state it on the Christmas menu online. Most restaurants will tell you when their “special” menus are available, especially if there are timing restrictions. Otherwise customers won’t know. It was stated “you didn’t ask” and I was then told the restaurant didn’t want my booking anyway now due to my questioning of their communication. Having visited the restaurant previously for a roast it wasn’t my first choice but I was dining with friends who wanted to try it for the first time. Having our booking cancelled turned out to be a blessing because we found another restaurant that we really enjoyed and clearly communicated their available menu for our booking. My eating experience at Elnecot previously was only OK and I wish I had read the reviews about customer service and the childish responses the owner writes back when he doesn’t like what’s been said (note to self, spell check this before submitting and prepare for the made up stories of why everyone else is wrong but them). Luckily we managed to secure another booking with a few days’ notice and spent well over £1000 on food and drink. This may be a small amount to Elnecot but all for a bit of communication at the start we could have given them the business and we could have hopefully left a more positive review. What I found the most challenging was their failure to acknowledge any fault and then be told they didn’t want our booking and were keeping our deposit. For a booking they were cancelling and breaking their own terms and conditions. The upside is I was able to educate them in card payments, breaking T&C’s and last week received a full refund of our deposit money back from them through the Chargeback process. Big thanks to Halifax for this and to Elnecot for their published T&C’s which I was able to evidence they had broken. The money element was more the principle for me as it was only £80, but still. I am hoping my friends are also able to provide genuine feedback. No doubt this review will incite the owner to write a scathing response where he is right and the customer is wrong (when in reality the two should meet in the middle) because this is the common theme and what shines through the lower rated reviews. I would personally use this to improve on communication and not be as aggressive. Having reviewed the owners career history it makes sense how he runs his business, years spent at TM will do that. But they are not the blueprint for business management and at this time neither are you. Thank you for the deposit money back and seeing sense. It’s very much appreciated.

Really unfortunate that I have had to result in writing a negative review for this restaurant having previously dined there and had no issue. I have reached out to them regarding our problem and have never experienced such rudeness before from any other restaurant. We booked a table for 4 and hadn't recieved a confirmation, tried to call the restaurant with no avail and ended up not being able to go as my partner wasn't feeling well. Despite never having had a confirmation email of the reservation I was charged a £40 no-show fee. When I reached out the manager let me know that its common for the confirmation to go to junk but that wasn't really his problem (though he clearly has had customers that experienced this same problem). He also said that they're too busy to pick up the phone and demanded proof I had called to resolve the issue. Looking at other reviews this is a common problem and a clearly a way they make a quick buck in a cost of living crisis. There was zero customer service, empathy towards my unwell partner or understanding and his emails orwere in a rude and aggressive tone. Would not reccomend fueling their business unless you want to be met with a very unsavoury tone. Plenty of better places in Manchester with great customer service to try so please avoid.

One of our favourite places for a treat; perhaps our favourite place for brunch full stop. The staff are always incredibly friendly! We’ve probably ordered the crispy pork belly (with hash browns and kimchi!) more times than we’d care to admit. We’ve also been for a Sunday Roast more than once, which we’d recommend booking in advance for. They’ve a good mix of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. The food is also well priced for how ‘haute cuisine’ some of the dishes are; there’s a great mix for the adventurous and conservative palettes alike.

Food was nice, although service was a little slow but I put that down to them being in the middle of their January dinning offer period.

We called in on the off chance for a table on a Friday evening as it was fully booked online. All the waiting staff were new, but we only knew that because we heard them being trained. Despite it being most people’s first week there the service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly. Our main waiter was Haben who was great fun and very helpful. The food was delicious. Our favourites were the croquettes and mussels, both of which came in exceptional sauces. We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing! We were given a voucher for Christmas, and went for our tea. It’s a gem! The staff were so lovely and attentive. The food was delicious as were the drinks! Amazing coffee! We have been to a few restaurants in Manchester recently and this has been the best! Great value for money. Can’t wait to go back!

I have been to Elnecot for brunch before but never dinner. I was blown away by the menu. As someone with allergies I was pleased to see the menu include the 14 allergens. Then when asked about allergies, not only did the wait staff do a great job but the chef came out and advised. This gave me reinsurance and the chief was able to make changes to suit my personal allergies. This is the service you can't get anywhere else. The food was amazing, beautiful and wonderful to eat. No allergic reaction and great meal. Happy to recommend and go again I highly recommend the pork belly!

The Manchester egg is bangin, a delicate quail egg wrapped in black pudding, you couldn't get any more Northern or you'd end up in Scotland. There's also a prawn curry with this insane bread paste, we think it might be fish paste but whatever it is, package and bottle that up guys and we'll gladly pay you a handsome ransom for it. Michael and his crew are always on point with their food and service. Keep up the fine work folks 🫡

We finally made our visit with their January 30% off for everything. Food cames in smaller plates best for sharing and we ordered 5 in total. Most recommended savoury choices from us would be Crispy Pork Belly and Shetland Mussels. Pork Belly pieces were cooked nicely retaining the tender texture with super crispy skin. The sauce in the middle added a layer to the taste and balanced out the potentially greasy pork belly. I was particularly impressed by the creamy white wine immersed by mussles - wish to have a larger slice of bread and dip all in. Ox cheek croquette is not great it has been overcooked and the inner all dried out. We love their Chocolate Fondant very much while Apple crumble then was just mediocre. Generally speaking everything was pretty good there and I think I might visit again for their brunch options and see what they get.

A Friday night booking. Very busy. Service was good. Food was excellent. Place was very busy with everybody chatting, the music volume wasn't improving the atmosphere, more competing with it. We will go back.

Really delicious food, everything we had was very good. I had mussels and also fish of the day - simple, uncomplicated but well made and delicious. Music was very loud when we first sat down so difficult to chat properly as a group but it then went quieter

Go to place for a Sunday roast. Used to try a new place every weekend but why risk disappointment when you can just go to Elnecot. Excellent bloody Marys too.

This is a nice friendly restaurant on the edge of cutting room Square. We went there early on a Thursday and left feeling slightly disappointed and that it could've been so much better. The restaurant is lovely as is the service, but there were a couple of fairly big disappointments. The roast potatoes Were just like frozen ones covered in ketchup and mayonnaise. We did not touch these but they still appeared on the bill. We tried two wines which were £36 and £40 a bottle and they weren't very good at all. For that money, I really expected much better. On a more positive note, the Asian pork was absolutely delicious as was the Manchester egg.

Christmas Day afternoon, a party of 12 including some serious foodies and one chef. None found fault with anything, the unanimous verdict being that the food was excellent and the staff superb. Good atmosphere too. This is a restaurant where everyone from the chefs to the table team know their profession.

We went on New Year's Eve for a roast in the afternoon. Service was attentive, superb and personable. Food was flavourful and served plenty. The broccoli cheese with truffle was a stand out. What ever other reviews say that are negative that was not my view. Amazing roast, lovely staff in particular the manager with the moustache was so lovely. If you get a chance book and come along to a lovely Sunday experience. Great Sunday treat... I will be back

The old mill on Redhill street is beautifully refurbished and Ancoats Coffee Co held such promise with glass doors , indoor and outdoor dining space, twinkling fairy lights I chose outside in the lovely Mancunian sunshine to enjoy my cake and fresh orange drink, unfortunately this is where things start to go down hill, firstly cash is not accepted in this establishment, plastic is king, my cake looked like an appealing Madeira on its plate, I think it would have given the lovely refurbished bricks a run for their money, hard is too soft a word but not as hard as the seating, I think I am well padded in the posterior but These chairs WOW they were made of a galvanised material so to be expected but couldn’t you have invested in something soft to sit on ! One visit is enough for me. Not a

I’ve had a breakfast and evening meal here within the last month and I couldn’t speak highly enough of the food, service, vibe, value for money and overall experience. I had an amazing banni blue cheese burger most recently, which was absolutely fantastic, the blue cheese was complimented perfectly by a sweet onion chutney! My partner, and friends, all had a roast which also went down a treat! Strongly recommend a visit if you get the chance!

Nice relaxed space. Great cuts of steak, fresh and flavourful sauces, crisp hot fries, nice wine and cocktails. Brilliant gluten free options. And all very reasonably priced - steak, chips, sauce, and a glass of wine gave me change from £20! Well worth a casual lunch trip.
