Elnecot in Manchester

La primera vez que mi marido y yo hemos estado aquí, nuestro hijo come allí a la hora del almuerzo. Hacen un trato de comida que dice que es muy agradable. Tuvimos una comida encantadora, todos los platos son para compartir. Compartimos Terrine, Gnocchi, Burrata, pollo frito, pollo al curry todo muy sabroso con tantos sabores emocionantes en el paladar.

Booked for a group of 9 including two babies, for a birthday meal on a Sunday. Lovely experience, from booking via email to service when we arrived. Staff attentive and knowledgeable, recommending some brilliant white wines. The Welsh wagyu was wonderful and to top it off they put a little candle in the sticky toffee pudding so we could sing Happy Birthday at the table! Will be returning again to try the evening menu and would highly recommend to others. Superb little visit.

At best, it's like a student canteen catering for folk who live next door in the flats. The serving staff were rude and the elderly gentleman who was pointed out as the manager ignored us as he seemed conscious of the fact that some guests were not really happy in our party.

I ate here a few weeks ago. The service was good. The staff engaging, and they knew about the product. We started with some great cocktails which were like a dish on their own. The menu is simple and straightforward. The food is old school with a new twist. I can’t fault service, the food or portion size. Great food, great service and not too pricey either

This was totally unexpected. A fairly indistinct venue which completely understated the fare on offer. The food served was original, wonderfully cooked and presented without fuss, but nothing can surpass the flavour and texture combinations. Perhaps the range of desserts could be expanded to contain something lighter and fruitier but even the sole fruit dessert, toffee apple pavlova, exceeded expectations. To top all of this, the service was very friendly and unobtrusive, exactly as it should be. I have read mixed reviews around this venue, either something has changed radically or my tastes for the original and eclectic menu is unique, wake up people, this was something to experience that wasn't wallet busting and which left me wanting more!!

EDIT: to clarify some parts of my review. We got the chicken burger, beef burger, fries, beef croquettes, prawns, ribs and chicken wings. I’ll start with the good. The burgers. Really nice, very flavourful tasty. The beef burger has a bone marrow taste & they do do really good fried chicken here. The burgers were spot on really. The chicken wings, again crispy with a lovely taste. The sauces also nice that came with them. The fries, I mean can’t complain about fries but they were average. The prawns were ok. But had a funny taste, can’t really describe but overpowering, not a nice taste. The croquettes, again nothing special at all, in a Thai curry sort of sauce, didn’t go at all. Malaysia not Thailand? Regardless, similar flavours & I’ve eaten in both countries. I didn’t notice the word rendang on the menu, it tasted like a Thai curry. That in itself wasn’t bad the croquettes were bland & nothing special (but definitely not the worst thing we ate). Lastly, and the worst part, the ribs. Far too sweet & literally not one bit of meat, all fat. I KNOW ribs are fatty & I especially KNOW lamb is fatty I eat it maybe 3 times a week? But the dish was totally inedible, not one single bit of meat on the ribs. Had a go and tried to eat them but literally couldn’t find a piece of meat & for £17 they’re not cheap. We’re proper foodies & eat out all the time. Elnecot is bang average. Told the waitress when she came to collect the food about the ribs she said “sorry about that” then brought us the bill. Which included the ribs. Asked one of the waitresses to take the ribs off as we sent them back. She went away, came back and asked us did we eat them. LOL did we eat them? We couldn’t eat them there was nothing to eat? Other than fat? The dish we sent back was still full? Left a 10% tip as service overall wasn’t bad. But the food, really unimpressed.

Absolutely delicious Sunday Roast!! We had the wayu and pork belly, I personally like the beef better, soft and flavourful. The roasted vegs are stunning too, love their gravy! The paired wine is good too! One thing i didnt like was their knifes🤣 not sharp enough to cut the meat and had it hard to eat, hope they will get some sharper knifes!

Lovely place and food is freaking amazing!

All my clothes including my jacket smell of oil. The ventilation was either not working or working very poorly. The whole place was covered in smoke. The food was alright but nothing spectacular. If it wasn’t 30% off I’d be highly disappointed.

Due to the recent snow, floods and amber weather warning, I was unable to make my booking of 6 as I was physically unable to get into Manchester. Unfortunately, I was charged a £60 cancellation fee as a result. I was told that this was the T&C that I agreed to and there was nothing that could be done which is absolutely fair enough. I was just rather disappointed that there was absolutely zero leeway given to reschedule at least to have my cancellation fee refunded given very legitimate extenuating circumstances afflicting the country. I am all for small independent businesses employing strategies to minimise losses of revenue but it did not feel good to be the customer sacrificed at the altar in the pursuit of this. In hindsight, we probably should have just risked our lives for dinner, the food might have just made it worthwhile! Anyway, the food looks amazing, never got to try it, but I am sure it would be at least decent, most importantly of all, be aware of strict cancellation policy before booking. Don't be like silly little me.. All the best!

Great food, freshly prepared. We went on a Sunday so it was the more limited Sunday Roast menu but it was delicious and would definitely recommend.

Muy en el comedor de moda, ( libro mucho antes ) tal vez sólo un poco masculino en su enfoque. Grandes porciones en un domingo y disfrutamos de la experiencia. Se alejaron del tema de la comida navideña, que tal vez no fue algo malo. Como el programa repite una fórmula de confianza... Una gran porción encantadora de la carne asada (descansada y mediana) con pudín Yorkshire, verduras y patatas. Sabroso , caliente y salsa a un lado como se pide. Del mismo modo también se disfrutó del cuello de cerdo con crujiente crujido. No había espacio para el pudín (noté que todos tenían un tema de caramelo). Servicio relajado y uno deja una propina por separado.

This was by far the best roast I've ever had in a restaurant! Perfectly tender lamb seasoned with Rosemary, everything was so flavoursome. The pigs in blankets with honey and mustard glaze were to die for. I couldn't fault it at all and would recommend to everyone, 10/10!

Amazing Christmas roast dinner with fizz and crackers. Friendly service, and on line / email bookings. Its a shame they dont answer the phone, but thats my age talking.

Best Sunday Roast we’ve had in Manchester!! Came here for my partners birthday and the food did not disappoint! Lovely soup for starter, and a delicious roast dinner. The portion size was perfect! Amazing service, they gave my partner a complementary Prosecco for his birthday which was a lovely touch. Will definitely go again!

Sunday lunch, brilliant. Very busy so be prepared to wait.

Después de un día ajetreado de compras, mi amiga y yo caminamos desde Piccadily Gardens, ya que ella había visitado aquí para almorzar con su hijo. Vale la pena el esfuerzo, el ambiente, el servicio y la comida eran excepcionales. El copropietario nos sirvió con una sonrisa agradable, el menú fue explicado y cada plato sonó tentador. La comida estaba recién hecha con excelentes ingredientes, el vino era delicioso y el ambiente era agradable para un lunes por la noche. Los precios eran razonables para su situación en el centro de la ciudad y disfrutamos totalmente de toda la experiencia, que fue divertido con deliciosa comida y servicio profesional de personas que obviamente eran entusiastas y felices en el trabajo.

Been here a couple of times, most recently for a birthday lunch. Fab service, fantastic food, can't fault it. Will definitely be back 😊

We came here for the tuesday steak night and it was lovely! For £28 you get a starter, main, dessert and a small glass of wine. Food was delicious and service was quick (maybe a bit too quick but no complaints as we were hungry but meant we couldn't pace our meal, if you prefer to pace it I would recommend asking for time between courses) I think it's really good value, great ambience and 100% would do this again (or eat any food in general as it's always good at Elnecot) We paid £33 each including a 10% tip.

I’ve been there a few times, the food are always amazing. But that’s the first time I had their Sunday Roast. We ordered, wagyu rump, lamb shoulder, pork belly set. All are amazing! The only downside might be we were sitting nearby the entrance and it was quite cold when the door opened and cold wind blew in.

Went on saturday for dinner and got 4 sharing plates with my partner. I couldn’t fault any of them, the pork belly was personally my favourite but all of them were delicious, service was also amazing

Elnecot is a wonderful dining experience. The concept behind the food of British inspired tapas is fully realised in the tastiness and variety of all the dishes. We had five sharing dishes plus bread plus pudding between two people and were happily replete. None of this going home hungry nonsense here. A favourite? It has to be the loaded roasties. Pure delight. Atmos and service also first rate. Do yourself a favour this winter and visit Elnecot.

Han estado aquí en el pasado para el brunch / brunch sin fondo y siempre han tenido un gran tiempo. Anoche probamos su nueva ‘Steak night’ y no podemos fallarle. Un menú fijo de 3 platos y una copa de vino por 28 £ , lo que en este clima actual tiene un valor fenomenal. Estábamos muy emocionados de venir y cumplió y superó las expectativas. El personal, como siempre, fue atento y amable. La comida, como siempre, es excelente calidad y relación calidad-precio, que es importante para nosotros a la hora de comer fuera. El filete y las patatas fritas se cocinaron a la perfección y todos los platos eran una gran porción y se presentaron bien. En el momento en que vi este nuevo menú en marcha, corrí a reservar y está buscando ser un gran éxito para ellos, que se merecen. Solo la retroalimentación sería contar con la opción de filete y papas fritas de nuevo en el futuro y tal vez un cuchillo de carne para facilitar el corte. Volveremos pronto!

Good quality food and service, but the serving size has been reduced, the Sunday roast now is just a sliver of meat and a few vegetables when it used to be a good portion and is no longer worth the price. Unfortunate because previous experiences at this restaurant have been great

Elnecot has a minimalist aesthetic to it. Fairly clean lines. Nothing resembling cosy. However the food more than makes up for its austere look. We ordered 5 small plates: ciabatta, onion galette, crab cakes, roasted aubergine & a loaded roasti. All of the dishes were intriguing and extremely tasty. Thumbs up for all of them. Our server was helpful and was adeptly able to answer all of our menu questions. The neighbourhood is cool & well worth exploring. And a special shout out to the yuzu sake negroni.

Elnecot tiene una estética minimalista. Líneas bastante limpias. Nada parecido a acogedor. Sin embargo la comida compensa con creces su aspecto austero. Pedimos 5 platos pequeños: ciabatta, galette de cebolla, pasteles de cangrejo, berenjena asada y un asado cargado. Todos los platos eran intrigantes y extremadamente sabrosos. Pulgares arriba para todos ellos. Nuestro servidor era servicial y fue capaz de responder a todas nuestras preguntas del menú. El barrio es genial y bien vale la pena explorar. Y un saludo especial al yuzu sake negroni.

Este es un restaurante fantástico. Ambiente acogedor, relajado e íntimo con comida que complementa las papilas gustativas. Recomiendo encarecidamente hacer una reserva aquí. Tuve la cena del domingo y fue absolutamente delicioso - una de las mejores comidas que he tenido en Manchester. El servicio fue perfecto. Me gustó mucho la vista abierta a la cocina, por lo que se puede apreciar todo el trabajo duro y el esfuerzo que entra en cada plato. Una reseña corta y dulce, pero honestamente Elnecot habla por sí mismo. Recientemente he hecho otra reserva para la próxima semana y no puedo esperar a visitar de nuevo. Roast dinner was brilliant, good portion size and the roast beef was some of the best I’ve ever had! Make sure you book as there wasn’t room for walk ins while we were there. Lovely staff members who were all kind and smiling despite it being very busy and great wine pairings provided. Only slight niggle was the restaurant seemed quite smokey - not sure if there was an extractor fan issue but we all came out smelling of roast (not in a good way) and you could see the smoke in the air!

Came for a Sunday roast and was a 10/10 experience. The staff were so lovely and welcoming from the second we arrived, our waitress was so attentive. I had specific dietary requirements and they were taken so seriously by the staff, I felt so reassured. The food was so delicious as well. Loved it.

We had an 8pm booking and the air when we arrived into the restaurant was very smokey and hard to breathe in. After a while it made our eyes water and sting. We asked the waitress if there was any way to get some fresh air which they replied that it often happened and they would open the back door. Unfortunately this didn't help. the music was pretty loud too as it was a Friday i guess so was hard to talk with both the volume and air.The food we got was quite nice, the small plates varied alot in price with most of the meat based ones being twice the price which I guess it fair. The BBQ aubergine curry and pork belly were nice. The Welsh wagyu burger was okay, a little lacking flavour.

Great spot for some fancy and different tapas in Ancoats. Great atmosphere and funky interior. Service also great. Lots or variation on the menu and some really nice attention to detail. Would recommend

Overall very good value for money. 14/09/24 note: just had their BBQ cheeseburger (cooked outdoors on the grill) and this is easily the best burger I’ve had in Manchester! This was a lovely lunch. The restaurant has a lunch menu, as well as specials that change each day. These include soup of the day and sandwich of the day. We opted for the soup and sandwich of the day, which was mixed spicy veg soup, and beef, pickles, and hollandaise sauce sandwich. Both were delicious! there was so much beef in this sandwich, and it was cooked perfectly. The soup was also beautiful, it was so rich and tasty. The pork belly was also delicious. it was served with hash browns and a fried egg. the pork belly was perfect. It was sooo delicious and there was a good amount of pork belly. The hash browns were also very nice, and went with the pork belly very well. The fried egg was cooked perfectly, with crispy outsides and a dippy yolk. The only thing i would change about this meal was the amount of sauce put on the top of it. The sauce was very nice and went very well with the meal, but it was a little much. I would have preferred this sauce to be served on the side, or just a little less put on the top. i could even see my egg! but apart from that very small issue, it was all perfect. The fries were very nice too. The staff are lovely, and the service was very fast. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be coming back.

Had been planning coming here for ages for our first date night after having a baby. Food was lovely and staff smiley but at the end of the day... food served without our wine, so we waited. We waited ages. We asked someone about the wine. They apologised and said it would be with us. It never came. We asked someone else (food served long ago by now). He brought us a red wine but when we said we ordered white he said we ordered the wrong thing and it was on us. We accepted this with a smile cause we're the empathetic type but then checked the receipt which showed we were right so asked again. Correct wine eventually arrived, but now food gone except for a few cold bits we saved for the wine (which we didn't really want after all the delays). I'm sure this place is lovely and I appreciate I may sound like a nob moaning about first world issues but we just really needed a nice night after some recent struggles and left feeling a bit grim. First world problems sure and these things happen but its just sad when you normally can't afford to go somewhere nice but you've had a really tough few months so treat yourself only to leave wishing you stayed home. I ended up leaving my sunglasses at the table as we left (& Im not including this in my review score because thats it's on me - although I don't think this all helped as my partner was upset) but a perfect icing on the cake of a sad vibes evening. 🥹

Overall a very good spot for a brunch. We choose the bottomless drinks and 3 dishes. Our favorite was the mushroom sandwich, amazing taste explosion. We also had the crispy pork belly that was good but lacked a bit of taste on the pork belly itself, dish as whole complemented that. We also had the lamb shoulder, not as good as I would hope it to be. The salad to the lamb shoulder was although really good. Personnel was very kind and had a high service mind. A bit to expensive for the quality

I got the soup of the day and a sandwich (cheese)? The bum was cold, and the shop dish was very shallow. Felt like it wasn't worth the money. My friend, however, did get a double.cheeseburger which looked excellent. Maybe I chose wrong, and got stuck in the soup sandwich trap. Felt so so, but was nice to eat out in sun.

Would 100% recommend to friends and will be coming back again. Came here for bottomless brunch for my birthday with three friends. Food was great and the service was quick and friendly, very generous on the bottomless drinks front! Our server Ruby especially was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us and made me feel so special for my birthday. She made a huge difference to our overall experience.

I visited here with some friends to try the Sunday roast we had heard so much about…and it did not disappoint! Delicious, filling and excellent service. I recommend to book with plenty of time in advance. But worth the special trip on a Sunday. Price wise it isn’t cheap, however for the amount and quality of the food it is worth the price.

Always warm and welcoming service in Elnecot. The general vibe of the restaurant is a blend of casual/tasting menu. Tapas with none Spanish dishes, it’s a win! Having had a bottomless brunch here I can fully vouch that they look after you being quick to take your order and fast serving you the drink you’re after. Food is always out of this world with flavour, portioning and price. It’s a great atmosphere usually having alternative music playing in the background allowing to hold conversations with friends (unlike most obnoxious venues). One of my favourite teams at a restaurant, always cared for and feeling valued as a customer.

Amazing food, would highly recommend the lamb and pork!

One of the best roasts I have had, period. The lamb was incredibly tender, the potatoes were cooked to perfection, and the stuffing was divine. There was not a bad bite on the plate. Unfortunately, I can't rate the dessert, as we ordered a few of these and waited more than half an hour, just to be told the ticket got lost and it would be another 15 minutes. At this point we had to leave for another event, so the sweet cravings went unsatisfied. The restaurant is also incredibly loud, with high ceilings and poor acoustics, so if you want a nice conversation, it isn't the place for that.

Fantastic Sunday roast in the centre of Ancoats. Great atmosphere and the staff are top notch. Had some great cocktails and food here, the wagyu beef isn't much to expect of Wagyu but was massively tasty and very well cooked. The portions here definitely aren't underserved and you get well worth your money.

Waited a good few years to actually be In Manchester on a Sunday to have a roast here. Was everything I knew it would be. Fantastic food, fantastic service. Great venue. You need to book .. thank you !

Great place, very friendly with eclectic diners. Went for roast lunch with daughter. Both thought fabulous.

My first visit to this venue was a pleasant one. It’s set in what us more experienced folk would describe as ‘trendy’ lots of high ceiling pipes and wires on show and bare exposed surfaces, it looks great tbh. Staff were very welcoming and service very good indeed. There is a full menu that was very tempting with some really great looking options, however it was a Monday and after over indulging at the weekend it was time for sensible choices. They do a soup of the day (from memory it wa carrot with coconut) along with a sandwich for £9 and it is great value. There is a choice of a round 3 or 4 sandwiches all living put together on fresh ciabatta, my chicken was excellent. The soup was smooth tasty and piping hot and definitely well made, with no tins involved during the process I’m sure. I would recommend this place for all times of day not sure if open at night but for breakfast brunch and lunch it’s fantastic

Booked on a whim as really fancied a Sunday roast whilst visiting Manchester and WOW this did not disappoint! The food was to die for. Even though it was pretty busy we didn’t have to wait long. All the food was hot and freshly made. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend to anybody!

Elencot is one of the best places in Ancoats, and possibly in all of Manchester, to enjoy a roast dinner. The food is mind-blowingly tasty and well-served, offering everything you need to indulge in this classic dish. It's highly recommended to book in advance, as it is always fully booked due to its popularity.

This spot is great if you love rich, delicious food. Every dish we ate put a smile on our faces and left us completely satisfied, eager for our next plate. We had the Pork belly, Wagyu pie, leek gratin, loaded roasties as our main sharing dishes. ciabatta bread with beef and onion butter to start. Drinks were delicious. House lager was lovely. Highly Recommend, staff were also accommodating, welcoming and helpful!

A mid evening visit with a friend. We didn’t want a full meal - just coffee and a dessert - and they were happy to oblige. In fact it’s one of the few places in this quarter open for just coffee. Service was quick, friendly, and accurate. Food was well-presented, tasty, and good value for money. Atmosphere was calm and quiet. ♿️Great access for people with limited mobility (although the front door is extremely heavy even for an able-bodied person so might present difficulties). There are good restroom facilities for people with differing needs.

Recommended 💯x💯. You have to reserve. If you don't go, they charge you £10 on your card. The staff is super friendly and the service is very good. They ask if you have any intolerance and tell you about the waiting time to serve the dishes. Excellent quality price.

Heard so many rave reviews but we were completely disappointed. The restaurant was so loud and unfortunately we were sat next to where all the servers decided to stand and chat which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Despite there being lots of empty tables there was a 40 minute wait on food. When it arrived it was so disappointing the nut roast was incredibly spicey and the vegetables generally bland - not worth the money. My husband did however enjoy his lamb! Servers generally seemed scared of coming over as we had to flag them down several times despite them standing there.

Nice atmosphere shame about the food and service. Potatoes and broccoli served cold. Lamb chops very fatty and tough and the asparagus curry was a joke. Was served half an asparagus. Really!!!!!!! Staff were nice but took a while to know we even existed.

Great vegan date night!! There aren’t many fancy dinner places in the centre that are vegan/ do decent vegan options. Here there were 6 vegan options on the menu - we ordered 5 and they were all incredible!! My boyfriend isn’t vegan and loved them - we will definitely be coming back - really enjoyed it!! They even had a vegan sticky toffee pudding which was delicious!

The Best Bottomless Brunch I’ve experienced. Elnecot is a favourite spot for food due to the sensible portions and high quality of food. I saw their £26 bottomless brunch online and it lived up to expectations. Steer clear of the Lager which was a bit tasteless, the cocktails came thick and fast. Service was out of this world being checked on every 5 minutes or so - we definitely made it worthwhile going bottomless for the 2 hours you are given. Food was great as a brunch, sausage bap and a Bloody Mary was the best way to combat the warm weekend.

They are creative, making unusual dishes, cocktails & ever changing specials. The roast potatoes are absolutely unreal; I’ve been speechless each time I’ve ordered. As someone who likes to visit different restaurants and try new things, I’ve been to Elnecot about 6/7 times. Which speaks volumes.”

Very good Sunday roast. Took my mum who is gluten free and she said it was the best gluten free roast she's had in years! The waiters were great on checking with the chefs what she could have.

We went for brunch here it is not a halal place so we were only restricted to vegetarian options. I had wild mushroom on toast it was good.

We went for Sunday lunch , food was really good, decent portions and all tasted excellent (even though I found a hair in the stuffing ball , which staff replaced quickly) Staff were really attentive. The big downside is the smoke in the air from them cooking, our eyes were watering because it was so bad , very uncomfortable. Wouldn't go back on a Sunday due to this. Such a shame !

I was really looking forward to a Sunday roast today. Unfortunately, it was not as expected. Firstly, my tea came with curdled milk. The roast beef was undercooked and potato was charred. I thought the potato was the stuffing as it no longer looked like a roast potato. :'(

2023: Went for a sunday roast and ordered the wagyu beef for meat. The wagyu was not marbled or fatty as the wagyu I normally have in Japan, but the beef was still very tender and not dry or tough at all. Comes with a large yorkshire pudding and various sides. Could've had a little more gravy but overall very nice and decent portion size. 2021: Atmospheres was nice, went during covid period so tables were spaced out and everyone (or most) had to wear a mask when they stood up. Food was ok. ordered 3 small plates and 2 big plates between 2 of us and there aas too much food. Couldve done with 1 big plate less.
