Fabulous venue, we were there for Friday Social, wine and small plates ..every dish was tasty, well presented and absolutely delicious.. and the affogato was to die for. Great selection of wines too. We would most definitely recommend a visit .. I know we will be back.

Chilled out vibes. Went on Wednesday night, Sam really knew his wines and gave good recommendations to me that is quite a beginner. Where else can you find a french bulldog, a vinyl player and a selection fab selection of wine?

Average food and wine with expensive price tag. The pies on Sunday are not great. They look big from above, but in fact are quite shallow. You can get tastier food elsewhere for less.

Came for a special Xmas dinner, but was left really disappointed. Food itself was lovely, but the experience itself was chaotic. We ordered dishes each, which came in a really bizarre order, they brought out my starter, which I had finished before anything my partner ordered arrived. My main then arrived just before his 'nibble' and starter which arrived together. So we ended up eating alone a lot of the meal. I understand the menu can also be a 'sharing plate' style, but this should be something the server asks to avoid having to eat alone rather than enjoying food with a partner. very understaffed as we felt a bit abandoned, never asked for a top of wine dispite empty glasses and I found myself having to stack empty plates myself as there wasn't enough space on the table to eat the new plate they brought out. They also forgot one of our orders, which they brought out after a very long wait. After 2hours in the restaurant and only just getting through starter and main we left without any cheese or dessert. Bit disappointed as they are charging a lot for the dishes, which were however very delicious and they have lovely wines on offer, but with tables so cramped together it didn't feel like a special meal and unfortunately I won't be returning.

I heard about this gem of a place a while ago and finally had the opportunity to visit last night celebrating my birthday. I like my wine and couldn't wait to sample what they had to offer. The wine list is very different to what most would expect with options such as Aligote from Burgundy, gamay from Burgundy (not Beaujolais), savvy from Loire Valley (not Sancerre) and wine from Piedmont that's not Barolo. It is a bit pricey for Sheffield, but delicious nonetheless. Then there's the food ... WOW!!! The modest prices do not reflect the quality of produce on offer. The bloody mary oysters were so fresh it tasted as though it had been flown up from Cornwall that day!! The potato and brie dish was incredible and seemed to be popular on the night, whilst the cheese and charcuterie options did not disappoint. Venison and wagyu beef salami ... yes please!! The place was full and what struck me the most is that I could only see 4 staff (including chefs) who all looked under the age of 21 yet we received impeccable and attentive service. It is so refreshing to see young up-and-comers having a passion for what they do. I am already planning my next visit

..i'm not going to kid you on that i know the difference between the three very good wines the chap gave me. i'm not going to pretend that i really understood the symbiotic relationship between the ingredients and the wine on the intellectually construed menu. i will say that we had a jolly good night and enjoyed a great atmosphere with good hosts.i might dare to suggest it had something of the other about it. it genuinely felt we were somewhere else other than Sheffield on a wet winters night.is that a ringing endorsement?. possibly so.

We went as a group of 7 for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, we were unanimously disappointed. Neither of the proseccos were available from the wine list so we were offered an alternative (to match the price of the prosecco) which was in no way comparable to a prosecco. It was incredibly dry, flat and fusty (not appropriate as an apertif). I did mention this to the waiter who recommended the wine but rather than try/replace the bottle, he was quite defensive and I very much got the impression that he presumed I just didn't know anything about wine. Before we had time to browse the food menu, it was recommended that we opt for sharing plates at £22 per head, to which we happily agreed, assuming we would sample more of the menu this way. What ensued was a measly collection of distinctly average (and in the case of the terrine, poor) "sharing" plates. While I appreciate the dishes were meant to showcase simple ingredients presented on-trend in a minimalistic fashion, I can't accept that as an excuse for the portion sizes or the execution of the dishes. The oysters were offensively saline, lacking any sweetness or acidity from the garnish to complement them. The terrine was clumsy: dry, overtly meaty and mono-textural with a distinct lack of bread or anything else to make it more palatable. The mackerel was decent enough, although one bone-in fish between four people was not practical or substantial enough and there was nothing of interest on the plate. The pear and olive salad was cooked such that the juices leached from the ingredients onto the plate to form a gritty, brown pool. The baby carrots were delightful, but again very scarce (maximum one carrot per person). The tongue with pearl barley, I appreciate this is not everyone's cup of tea but there was little done to it to encourage the skeptical diner. While not offensive, it was distinctly bland as were the garnishes on the plate. I must say the chipped, fried potatoes were the most enjoyable dish of the evening, perhaps because they were something of sustenance (except we were only given two small bowls for the table). It is a rare dining experience indeed in which diners leave hungry having also left some dishes unfinished. One of the diners was vegetarian and, while I don't know if this was known to the staff or not, she was particularly put out for having paid £22 to essentially eat some garnished vegetables. However, I can't say the meat eaters among us fared much better. I can say with confidence that this is not a restaurant suited to group dining. It may do better for couples who want to enjoy a good bottle of wine (we had a delicious red) and order plates off the a la carte menu themselves. I don't know, I won't be returning to try which is a shame as I like to support new, local business. Very much trying to be something it isn't (currently) living up to.

Its hard to put this place into words. Ideally placed between the trendy kelham island district and the city centre. Elm resides in an old industrial house which has been lovingly rebirthed into a wonderfully quirky natural wine bar. Sam and the team really have a knack for hospitality; welcoming, attentive & enthusiastic, their love for the produce & wine thats on offer is infectious, you can’t help but want to try everything on offer and i would thoroughly advise you do. Their small plate menus change weekly based on whatever they can get fresh. Absolutely no corners cut when it comes to the quality, but rest assured no matter what is on the menu when you visit, it’s sure to be some of the freshest, tastiest food the city has to offer. If you are yet to visit then don’t delay any longer. If you’ve been before then you already know!

Visited here for a special occasion at the weekend. The setting is beautiful and the food is absolutely amazing. I have a severe food allergy and the staff were incredibly accommodating and it was a really excellent experience. Thank you for the wonderful service and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back.

I have visited this charming wine bar on the edge of Kelham Island several times over the summer and each time there have been little differences each time that have made every successive visit more of a pleasure. What has been entirely consistent is the interesting and unusual wine list which always has something new and surprising and which makes Elm very different to other wine bars and restaurants in the Kelham Island area. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Unfortunately this place didn’t hit the spot for either myself or people in my party. I felt as though it was trying too hard to be fancy and was extortionately priced. For example, a slice of toast with cream cheese and a large whole garlic on top which wasn’t peeled. It was our job to take the peel off and make it into a paste, to share between 5 people and were charged £7.50 for the pleasure. The soup (a cereal sized bowl between 5) had absolutely no flavour for £5.50. No side plates were offered, no empty plates were taken away, water wasn’t refilled. Wine also extortionately over priced. My recommendation would be try not to be quite so fancy, give larger portions or lower the prices dramatically and just keep an eye out on the tables whilst people are eating. Fingers crossed for an improvement 🤞

Went on a Saturday night with Mrs for some food and a drink. The menu is quite small but it's more tapas type thing than a restaurant. The place is only tiny so you can't expect a huge menu. Anyway what was on the menu is what lured us in. It all sounded interesting and a little bit whacky. oysters with horseradish were delicious. As we're the anchovies. Bone marrow on toast... You don't see that everyday :) The portions are small but they are good and aren't exactly expensive so I was happy to pay the £45 bill for 6 dishes and a round of drinks. Paid a lot more than that at joro just round the corner and thought the food here was better and considerably more of it. Staff were excellent too so I can't see why anyone would leave a 1 star review. Very unfair that. Anyway. keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing what new whacky dishes you come up with :)

This coffee shop has recently changed hands and is called Sarah’s Kitchen. Visited a few times recently and it’s a lovely friendly place serving great coffee and tasty homemade food. They offer milk alternatives which is great for anyone with milk intolerances. I can thoroughly recommend the homemade chips, panini’s and cakes. Fab coffee shop addition to Greenhill Village.

We hired the garden shelter out for a baby shower and we all had a great time. The area was dressed so pretty and all the staff were really friendly. The beer garden and cocktail bar is really fantastic, will definitely be spending more days here on a sunny day. Me and some others stayed for the entertainment they had on in the big room that night. We saw a great drag queen. We loved how there was different areas for whatever vibe you fancied. It all felt very inclusive. we’re already looking forward to returning for the grease and dirty dancing night in August.

Amazing bubble tea. Had the mango with passion fruit boba and it was so tasty, £5 for a medium and not much more for a large. Also had snacks available, really quick service too and checked with all options before making. Great if you’ve never had bubble tea before!
