Elm Grove Cafe in Brighton and Hove

A truly amazing experience, class A customer service, food was amazing and extremely flavorful. The prices are really good, for the value you get is class, I definitely recommend going there and grabbing some food. Deffo a regular spot to visit 😁

The owner of the place is lovely and kind. It's a great local spot in Brighton up Elm Grove. I had lunch in here today. I always come for breakfast. Today my wife and I came in for lunch and had an amazing moussaka, with salad and rice. It was so filling. Home made. Would highly recommend.

Thought I'd try out this local cafe with my friends before they headed on a 6 hour drive. Not sure if the lady was just having a bad day but she was very rude to us. Firstly, my friend had a query about prices as the smoothie price was not shown in the sign. This was answered rudely. Next, we asked for a takeaway cup and box for our food. Although she gave us the cup, she said she couldn't give us a takeaway box and that we had paid to eat it in (?). She said this despite there being a stack of takeaway boxes on the side. My friend was forced to leave her £4.99 portion of chips (extortionate!) as we felt uncomfortable and they had to get going. Bit of a shame really as this is my local and the food was nice but I won't be coming back or recommending to my friends due to the prices and rudeness.

We work nearby and have lunch a couple of times a week! The meze is beautiful, fresh ingredients and amazing flavours! The ladies are always friendly and remember our orders! So lucky to have such a lovely, good value cafe locally. Would 100 percent recommend any one in the area to visit and try the home made meals!

The food tbf was lovely, piping hot, fresh ingredients, well presented and clean! … The service however was very poor with the staff member appearing miserable as soon as we stepped foot inside the cafe and in fact she was downright rude. … The cafe was only moderately busy with just 2 other tables occupied, a “just eat” delivery driver waiting for an order and one other walk in customer for a takeaway sandwich throughout the duration of our stay on an early Saturday afternoon, and yet despite this the staff member appeared very stressed. We were given dirty looks and loud sighs when we asked for some sauce as all the bottles that were out had little to none left in them, only to eventually be given another bottle with hardly any in it! ….We also had to ask repeatedly (at least 3 times ) for the cups of tea that should have come with our fry ups, these were eventually plonked on the table long AFTER we had finished our food with not so much as a smile let alone an apology …. It appeared that it was more important to serve and complete the takeaway orders rather than completing the orders of the customers who were seated and already eating - basically trying to cram more business in than could be coped with … sadly on this basis we will not be returning as despite the food being lovely, the service fell very short and quite frankly spoiled what would have been an enjoyable family lunch!

Yummy Mediterranean food and they do full fry ups as well. All freshly baked pastry’s and loads of different salads made each day.

Sausages were the cheapest you can get! Tomatoe was defo old Egg wasn’t cooked properly Beans were standard and the bread was cheap And they charged me £3 for a cartoon of apple juice lol

I’ve been going to the café for several years and it’s always been the same owner. Every time I’ve been going, there has been excellent service and hospitality. The workers are really sweet and the food is always very fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this café to others aswell.

popped in for lunch during a shift. had a leek and onion quiche with a beautiful (and huge) selection of meze salad. I can't believe how much food you get here, and it all tasted amazing and made me feel great. kept me going throughout the day, I don't think I'll even bother with an evening meal. amazing place for food! will definitely be visiting again. 5/5!

This used to be a great spot to get a cheap snack after school with the kids. Unfortunately it’s outpriced us for a visiting now. Customer service also lacking - ignored or short snappy answers. Not as friendly as was last school year.

No A/C on a 28° day, milkshakes advertised as being served in a glass when actually it’s from a barley cold freezer. It was a 400ml yazoo bottle

This place a lot of potential, great location and lovely decor. However we found it quite unwelcoming from the moment we walked in, even a simple ‘hello’ was ignored and I’m not exactly a quiet person. Anyway after that it was just a bit cold, we even had part of the order changed but we weren’t told this until we asked where the missing item was! Maybe it’s the reason it was empty when we arrived. It should have been heaving on a Sunday morning!

I often take one of my students here, it is a great spot for a healthy lunch and offers a chill and quiet vibe that is perfect for playing games in or working in! They have a wide range of options, their smoothies and Meze are a particular hit for us! They also offer some lovely cakes and other sweet treats. We keep coming back as the staff are super friendly and flexible which is especially important as I work with young people with SEND who often have specific requirements.

Been here a couple of times and always opted for the super fresh and tasty mezze food - a selection of different pastry things like spinach and feta filo pie, alongside delicious lentil salads, houmus etc. Really good food, well worth a visit!
