Best fish and chips I've had for a long time, would recommend.

Food cooked to order. No bother to the staff as it was late. Great service.

Haven't ordered from here in years, was very impressed, got a large fish and chips. The fish was ready immediately, was a decent large size, loads of chips, and a big pot of curry sauce. I'll happily order my next fish&chips meal from here in the future. Staff were lovely.

A very pleasant experience. We were staying in a nearby Travel Lodge overnight yesterday, so we ordered our takeaway food on the phone, the lady we spoke to was really friendly and helpful and everything was ready when we arrived 15mins later. I have a gluten intolerance so I sometimes struggle to find a chippy that caters for me, but I ordered gluten free scampi, chips and curry sauce...such a treat, delicious! 😋 Hubby had a non gluten free supper of battered burger and chips and said the burger was great quality. (He is quite fussy about his burgers). We will definitely be returning.

Brilliant fish and chips shop with quick service and friendly staff.

Stopped with my work chum whilst in the area and I've got to say, the best sausage and chips I've had for a while. I'm not sure if they are cooked in beef dripping but the chips were perfect and a proper portion as well. I hope I'm about the area again soon! 😋

Worst fish and chips I've ever had from here. Think fish was reheated from lunchtime, so dry and batter very chewy. Chips very pale. Feel I was totally ripped off as cost nearly £30 for 2 adults and 1 child portion. Also travelled from other side of town as remember them as being good usually. Very disappointed I'm afraid.

Waited outside with my dog the staff could see and made no attempt to ask for my order went elsewhere Hi did tie dog up but he was getting stressed was right outside shop would only do this if I required food

We had a really nice meal from them last time but last night was probably the worst fish and chips I have had in a few years. 3 medium cod and chips. Cod was the size of a burger and was dry and rubbery. Hate to think what small size is! Was a birthday meal and was felt very let down. Back to Codfellows I reckon. Shame.

Friendly enough, family meal good offer. First and second time was nice 3 time sausage in batter, chicken cooked with fish or something curry was really salty chips were burnt and dry ruined our family meal had to throw it all away. Can't believe they would even serve it up Phoned for refund nice enough to offer a free meal for next time. Next time came, a lot better but tasted very greasy.

Hi. Just bought medium cod x2 and chips. Fish was not cooked properly. Fish was raw and mushy horrible. Very poor quality. Will not go back to this fish shop. Could and should do better.

We have been having fish & chips from this shop for years, not too frequently but every 6 to 8 weeks. Always been really good. Thought we'd treat ourselves today on Good Friday & after queuing & getting home they are the worst we have ever had. Shop seemed manic, but just dreadful, hope it's a one off!!!

I hadn't been here for quite awhile and then only as preferred shop too busy. Very good fish and chips indeed and will almost certainly come again.

Pricey, plus a large Cod was no bigger then medium. Other then that vey tasty. 2 medium and 1 large Cod and chips came to approximately £24.00

Unfortunately our fish and chips tonight were far from satisfactory. Crispy batter on the outside but fish inside was dry and hard, wont be having fish and chips again any time soon.

Scampi & chips, absolutely lovely! Crispy breadcrumbs, juicy scampi. Not greasy at all. Definitely recommend it 😊

(EDITED ON A LATER DATE) Would like to edit my review... I was in Ipswich again last week and I tried the chip shop again. Thankfully I had a much nicer experience this time. I received all my food hot and on time (I placed another large order). The chips were plentiful & all of it tasted lovely. The lady who served me was particularly surprising as she didn't write my order down... however remembered it correctly & prepared it very quickly and efficianetly considering the shop was quite full... so the pressure was on her. She got it all spot on! Thank you kindly ladies & gent. This was definitely a vast improvement from my last visit. (Older review) Just ordered a £16.50 meal deal, with some saveloys and mushrooms aswell. Most of the food was bagged up and left out on top of the heater for over 10 minutes (before I realised it was ours) Once I noticed, I asked why it wasn't being kept in the heater as it was being left to go cold? The answer was "There isn't any room in the heater, and its warm on top of the heater". Actually it was barely warm on top of the heater at all... and there was almost an entire heater and a half empty where the food could have been put to await the mushrooms to cook. The saveloys once heated and ready were also left in the microwave for over ten minutes while the mushrooms were still cooking & had likely gone cold aswell. Needless to say we left without the luke warm meal and went to Hawthorne Drive Chip shop. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 The old staff were better. Response to Mark Calver... it was approximately between 5.30 and 6.30. Whichever time an entire meal went to waste basically. I posted this review within half hour of leaving the chip shop. The woman preparing the food was short and chubbyish. And the woman who said the food was warm on top of the heater and there was no room in the heater was slim with long light brown hair. Was very less than Impressed considering when I lived in Ipswich last year I never had an issue with this chippy, it was the only one we ever used.

Best fish and chip shop in ipswich. Great food and very good deals if your feeding a family. Can get busy but that's a price to pay for a popular chip shop.

Fantastic chippy, great meal deals and friendly staff

Had another try of this shop on two occasions after having some previously not great fish meals. First time was cod and chips, cod full of bones; second trip tried the haddock, fewer bones but still off putting. Clearly the fish isn't boned that well. Had fish and chips from a national chain of pubs in town where "cricket" is featured, no bones in their cod at all.

Uncooked chicken in a two inch batter... also chips were left on side as the woman served the next three-four customers so were freezing cold by the time we got home. Battered burger was clearly uncooked. Cod was okay, nothing special though. Would not reccomend.
