if you plan to go here to pursue higher education. dont. this place is filled with people who literally dont care about you or anyone. they will say that they "hear your compliant" and will work towards better the college, when in reality. they could care less.

Had a great tutor here for my two years. The Personal Development stuff is highly unnecessary and my PD tutor is one annoying individual. Second year the college sabotaged our course so almost all of us fail by not repairing a crucial piece of equipment that we require to do our work. Thank you SNC.

I have mixed feelings about this place, it’s good but bad, I made friends there and good memories! Whereas when it came to uni they bluntly refused to help me as they said I need to wait another 2 years and I didn’t have time so I applied all by myself and got in without any help. So with that I say thank you and improve on helping students get into uni instead of keeping them away from uni

Daughter had to take maths alongside her hospitality course, she passed hospitality with flying colours, maths, sadly was a completely different experience, daughter really wanted to pass this but her superiors at first didn't listen when I pointed out she struggled and had dyscalculia amongst other things, four times she took maths in a two year period, and this whole experience has left her quite anxious and tearful, please think carefully about enrolling here for maths, it's not a pleasant experience ☹️

Suffolk New college. My son went here. It's a lovely well set out building. It's got arts craft welding mechanics, hairdressing baby care, child care. Everything gave it such a name and it's all new and modern. Highly recommend it if you're 17 or 18-year-old to go to university in Ipswich.

The giant reclining ? is sited on the pavement area outside Suffolk New College. It's listed by The Ipswich Society as a public work of art to make a point to see if visiting Ipswich. However, it's not allotted it's own page on here, (as many other town works of art (even 'Digby the Octopus') are), so I'm posting the photos of it for the college building that it serves to represent. The intended significance of the big ? by the sculptors, Langlands & Bell, was to encourage those who behold it, to ask questions about everything. Due to the use of contrasting stone, one side appears black (Uruguayan granite), the other side white (Portuguese marble). It's a simple but effective design & maybe also a classic example of less equalling more? Ironically & unintentionally, the reclining ? is also the symbol for Alpha Course churches. Something that the local Ipswich group have also noticed & are using photos of the artwork to illustrate their publicity materials...

Final update: Please try and keep your families, friends & anyone you care about, as far away from this College as possible. Especially if you know of any pupils who happen to suffer from any visible or hidden LD, then at least give them a heads up. A vulnerable young student was severely harassed and discriminated against, at the hands of the college security guards. When complained, parents were lied to their faces, then the College consistently used self favouring, misleading and at times, provably false statements and denied any responsibility, it has been a non stop nightmare. This College tried their best to destroy a young persons life, but were eventually defeated by the student’s courage, and sheer commitment of not to be held back anymore, by these soulless lying bullies. On paper, the College senior management made it all look very much in their favour, and never accepted any accountability. Local Tory MP Tom Hunt was unfortunately found to be too friendly with the college, he didn’t bother looking in to the matter further once the College repeated the same lies that they used as their cover story to begin with. Shame on everyone involved in this incident from the college. It is a broken system and unless serious action is taken, I fear that there will unfortunately be more such incidents and someone might (God forbid) end up getting hurt or possibly make it to mainstream news before the underlying issues of discrimination is addressed. The college won’t even acknowledge their wrong doing, let alone take any steps to address it. The poor student’s entire family have been emotionally and mentally traumatised by this experience. Only demand was a sincere apology and reassurance that it would not happen to another pupil again. Neither were provided. I wish the College are held to account soon. Otherwise, what goes around comes around, hopefully they will get judged for their misdeeds To the coward bullies in the security team, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE’s, especially STUDENT’s SAFETY WHILST THEY ARE ON COLLEGE GROUNDS. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HARASS THEM. This is Ipswich, NOT Tijuana. SHAME ON YOU CRIMINALS. Original review: Absolute nightmare of a College They are not there to help anyone. Only there to destroy lives and then deny any responsibility through blatant lies. Cannot share details until the matter is legally concluded, but if you care about your children, then don’t send them to this college. **Update** Thank you for your response. Your executive team have already checked their own homework and given themselves all clear, relying on the provably false statements / lies from the same person who was involved in the discrimination and harassment of a vulnerable young person . They conveniently brushed all the concerns and main issues under the carpet, it is sickening to see this is allowed to happen, with no consequences for those responsible. Shameful to see the flourishing culture of lies, moral corruption & refusal to take responsibility flowing all the way down to our institutions, from the very top. Disgraceful!

I have just received my diploma with distinction grades and all thanks to a wonderful team at Suffolk New College in Ipswich, England. As an adult learner i felt anxious to start college, but deep inside i knew i need to take this step if i want to grow. If you are sitting on the fence right now, not sure if this is for you. Do it! Just sign up and the rest will be a lot easier, because there is a bunch of professionals who wants you to succeed, who wants to get the best out of you! This is exactly how i felt! Tutors and the whole support team have been there from day one, not only teaching me academically, but making me feel socially included, part of the family, no matter the age or other differences. I would highly recommend Suffolk New College!

My son with additional needs moved to SNC 2020 and I can not praise the staff enough. After years of tears and tantrums about going to school, he now goes without any arguments. He recently won a creative writing competition and this would of never happened if it wasn't for staff taking the time and energy to get to know him and understand how to get the best out of him. With the support of the tutors and Learning support staff they were able to get his thoughts and ideas onto paper, encouraging him to produce some amazing work.

Suffolk New College - how parents judged us 3 years ago, but how wrong you all were!! As a parent I have seen my Young Person (YP) go on an incredible journey, watched them mature, find their feet, break in their artistic shoes and develop above all personal confidence, belief and esteem alongside a new resilience with boundaries as they have matured, and realised they aren’t a ‘failure’ without five GCSE’s!! So, 3 years on next steps - for my YP, a dream come true, accepted place at Norwich University of Arts on their hard fought for Graphic Design degree course, and receiving a letter of commendation for their portfolio. So.... dare to dream and believe, it isn’t all over at 16 with GCSE wipeout! Learn as I did as a supporter of a YP that they will need to work hard, self-motivate, engage with their course but opportunity and success with College is there, it is a choice. THANK YOU to the whole Team at College, who guided, taught, nurtured, supported, cared, nudged and signposted my young person find their them, their talent, confidence and belief as well as a large serving of resilience.

I spent a total of 5 years here a few years ago. (2 of which were PAVE courses whilst 15-16) I started on a pave course for motorcycle repair. This course was a disaster. We had a tutor called Dave Vaughan for the first year and he left without any notice and all of our work went missing when he did. We then had to do two years of work in a year. The second tutor (forgot his name) was fantastic. I then did 2 years (lvl2 and lvl3) of vehicle paint and body repair. This course was amazing (without this course my review would be one star) the tutors Richard and Carl and technician Jack were really involved and really helpful. Carl being a welder before paint actually inspired the direction I took after I left here to look for apprenticeships. After the paint courses I did an extended diploma in vehicle mechanics. The actual course was fine and the head tutor was very good but unfortunately the other tutors and the way the course was managed let that down massively and is what led me to drop after my first year. One tutor was meant to lead us through a health and safety unit in our first term. He instead spent 2 terms doing slideshows about motorsport then handed his notice in. Near the end of the first year a new tutor had apparently managed to secure us a trip at the end of the year but apparently management moved the trip to a group in another course to stop them from failing. All in all, had it not been for the paint and body course then this would be a one star review. West Suffolk College was a much better experience.

Although it's in the centre of Ipswich and there's a lot of "chavy" people the college itself is great. The support I have received is outstanding and the tutors are great. Student support is a great place for any issues you may have and are always willing to just sit and listen if you need someone to talk to. I highly recommend this college. However I very appalled by the attitude and tutoring I received from the Media tutors and I highly recommend you do not take any of the media courses.

I have spent three years here at Suffolk New College, and I have enjoyed them. Very polite and friendly teachers, always happy to help the students. The area is quite busy, with University just around the corne. Alexandra park is just behind the college, allowing students to relax, and enjoy a quiet place. The college itself has many great facilities, easily available to students. Two small car parks available for use, with motorbike spaces available. The only problem I had at the college, was that things were very disorganized and often students would be notified last minute.

I studied art and design at Suffolk new college for two years and had a varied experience. It really changed me as a person and allowed me to be a lot more confident and sociable. Although, the teaching is very poor and you are made to feel as if the teachers don't have enough time or care enough to help with your work, constantly having to find them and ask for their help to always be told they'll do it at another time. I'm not sure if this applies to all subjects but definitely to the Art course. The teachers are good people but the majority are just not very good at teaching.

As a parent (and former teacher of science in secondary education), I can't speak highly enough of Suffolk New College. My Son has really flourished under the superb quality of tutors. As a student of 'Music Performance' he has experienced some great opportunities to meet people from the industry and help see a pathway into a career in music. The college is well resourced and if you are prepared to make the most of every opportunity a department like this can offer, I would find it harder to imagine a better establishment. Tutors with a passion for their subject and student outcomes is a core ethos. Suffolk New College has much to be proud of.

I spent two years at Suffolk New College on the Music Technology Course. This course is thorough and well designed, benefiting both those who are just getting started as well as those who already have some experience with Music Technology. Additionally the course approaches the subject from different angles, from live engineering to music production, providing the opportunity for students to shape the course to their individual interests. The course gave me the necessary skills and experience to apply for University. I chose to go to Goldsmiths where I am currently studying and loving Music Computing. By the end of the two years, students gain sufficient knowledge of the most up to date industry standard software and techniques. Whilst I picked the route of further education, these skills will also give a great head start in the music industry for those wanting to jump straight into their exciting career. The tutors (such as Craig Shimmon) are experienced professionals who are experts in their field. As well as passionately sharing their vast knowledge, they also wholeheartedly care about each and every student. They will put 110% into your education no matter if you're struggling with the material or soaring ahead. I cannot recommend this course enough. It is hands down the best education in Music Technology that you can get at this level. I made many wonderful and talented friends during my time at Suffolk New College and I hope you do too!

BTEC in Music Technology levels 2 & 3. Absolutely fantastic course! Amazing tutors who have industry experience and the best facilities I've ever used or seen. This course has constantly pushed me to achieve and off the back of my learning here I have co-founded 2 promotions companies which are actively putting on events in Ipswich. This is course delves into multiple areas of the music industry which has given me great experience which then I have been able to apply in my outside ventures. I 100% recommend this course to anyone who wants to be in the music industry, anyone who wants to learn how to make their own music, to anyone who wants to learn about the live dynamics of a gig, and to anyone that wants a higher knowledge over people that have done A-level Music Technology.

I completed the level 3 Music technology course here. Cannot recommend this course enough! The most enjoyable and rewarding experience that I've had throughout education. The equipment is amazing, industry standard DAW's throughout all of the teaching rooms, an awesome post production suite absolutely kitted out to the max with gear you won't find at most colleges or universities. The course itself is remarkable, everything is a hands on experience, a lot of practical learning - you choose your path, the tutors guide you down it. Lessons were enjoyable, you do what you actually want to do. Every day at college was a day I'd look forward to! The tutors are also fantastic, big shoutout to Eli, Ash, Nigel, and especially Craig! The most friendly, laid back, easy going and welcoming guys I've come across! They also really know their stuff, I wouldn't have been half as good of a producer if it weren't for these guys. They always go that extra mile for you, even though they don't have to. Extremely supportive, your achievement is their priority.

I applied here to do a Design course which focused specifically on digital design. Not impressed. Art and Design [insert subcategory here] requires you to try things YOUR FUTURE WILL NOT NEED. Good if you're capable in the art department! Gave up on this place because the interview was crap; a two hour nursery arts and crafts session instead of a quick 15-30 min in-and-out gave me the impression of unorganisation - not professional at all. Poor work environment, stairwell and atrium — rubbish, dust and bits of sandwich on the floor; informal, unhelpful staff; students looked unenthusiastic. It's bad to judge from what I'd seen on one night, but I wouldn't enjoy being forced to sculpt or do textiles when I'm specifcally into photography or digital design. Rather go to a sixth form/college where it is not obligatory to do things you do not NEED. Don't let this put you off if you enjoy all forms of art though, sculpting, textiles, 3D modelling etc.. It's v. good if you like variety and independence.

I ordered a Mocha with oatmilk. I saw the lady that was making the drinks use normal dairy milk. I had been waiting for some time to get my drink. I was the only one waiting inside. The girl that took my order, walked over to the lady and whispered "she said oat mocha". The lady mumbled something back to her very low. Then she put the oat sticker on and called "oat mocha". I have no words. Please take people's dietary requirements seriously. I've seen a similar review. It didn't even taste like mocha, very watery. Do better!
