We had an excellent meal and a wonderful time on a Sunday evening . There were 4 of us and one of the party wont eat meat so chose a Salmon Salad which was very generous with plenty of salmon which she really enjoyed. The rest of us had meat dishes, I had Turkish meat balls as a starter which were the best meat balls I have ever tasted they were made from lamb and beautifully seasoned and served on a bed of salad. For the main I had Lamb kebabs these were cubes of meat which were beautifully cooked and not over done served with Rice and salad . My wife had a house specialty slow cooked lamb dish with chips which she really enjoyed I pinched a bit and this was beautifully flavored and tender. Our friend Chris who has been before and recommended the restaurant had some chicken and lamb kebabs which he also enjoyed. All the portions were generous and well presented. When we arrived at the restaurant there was live guitar music played which was a nice touch. The waiter was very friendly and accommodating and had a great sense of humour. All in all we had a really good night and we will definitely be going again

It was very busy so the waiting time was long. Drink selection was poor. Food was just about OK when it did arrive. Definitely felt sorry for the waiter who was rushed off his feet. Better organisation woukd have helped and just some sort of apology for the delay.

We have been here a few times and always been very pleased with the service and the food but after last nights visit we are left wondering what on earth has gone wrong. Our drinks order was taken but we only had 1 beer and 3 soft drinks so luckily they didn’t get this wrong but the first warning sign was the ayran which was watery and insipid. We were a party of four but only two of us had starters. The chicken wings were nice but at £6.75 for just 4 part wings this was extortionate. The meatballs were inedible. The quality of the mince used to make the meatballs was very poor as it seemed to include a lot of sinew, tendon and unidentifiable “other” meat. The meatballs were sent back. The mains came out minus the salad which we had to ask for. The vegetable Guvic was missing its feta so it was sent back. When it came out again there was no feta but just melted cheddar on top. When this was questioned we were told they had run out of feta. All four mains where served with rice that was so over cooked it was just mush and could be picked up in lumps ( see photo ) My adana kebab was made of the same poor quality mince as the meatballs and was equally inedible. ( see photo ) When we asked for vinegar we were given olive oil. When we spoke with the waitress she explained that they were under new management who had changed the meat supplier. No restaurant is going to,change a supplier unless they are cheaper and this was evident in the poor quality meat. She also explained that four out of five of the kitchen staff were new and she was “dealing with imbeciles”. The restaurant has an open kitchen and it was no wonder the food was so poor as the kitchen was in chaos. When our bill came they had removed the meatballs and the guvic and reduced the bill by 10% but the bill still came to £64 and we thought this was unacceptable considering that most of the meal was uneaten or returned to the kitchen. We said that we would pay £50 but the waitress said that she wasn’t willing to negotiate and we said that neither were we and left £50 cash and walked out. To give her her due we felt sorry for the waitress trying her best but having to deal with poor kitchen staff and serve really bad food. This place really needs to sort it’s staff out and get a decent meat supplier or it won’t be around much longer

My husband and I visited Ella last night for the first time since it’s been taken over. As soon as we walked in the heat and the smoky atmosphere hit us. We were seated quite close to the grill area. We ordered drinks and then our food. It was unbearably hot. I asked if they could turn the Air conditioning on and was told it hadn’t been cleaned yet as they hadn’t expected the hot weather so soon. A few minutes later I asked if they could open the front door as it was unbearable… the young lady went to open it but was told not to. Our food arrived… it was delicious but by this time my husband was sweating so much and was so uncomfortable he couldn’t eat his meal. I asked for his meal to be boxed up and explained why. So they boxed his meal up and we paid the bill and left. We won’t be going there again which is such a shame as the food is so good. Ella, please sort this problem out and make it a comfortable dining experience for your customers.

NEW CHESTER ROAD PLACE..... Absolutely disgusted at this place. If I could give a 0 I would. Ordered food at 8pm, spent £50. It's my birthday today and wanted to try something different. Turns up and no main meal and one meal which wasn't as described on the menu. Rang they came back 35 minutes later, with only one meal not 2. Rang back and the lady insisted I was lying and I had the order, which has me absolutely outraged, and said I couldn't get a refund if they've delivered the food, yet the hadn't that way the whole problem!! it has ruined which has been a lovely day. 2 hours later still no food, rest of it is cold so can't eat that, honestly stay away. The staff are vile. Haven't been able to eat anything and £50 out of pocket!!! Off to McDonald's better service there!

Came here today for a late lunch to celebrate my sister's birthday today and mine tomorrow. The food was lovely and the service from the staff and the owner who served us was warm and inviting. We will definitely be back. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon xxx

Have had a takeaway from Ella three times in the past two months. On all three occasions the food has been really good. On the first two occasions the food was on time and hot; the whole experience was great. Last night, the food was late ans some was cold and unappetising (the bread in particular), but after we informed the restaurant the owner went out of his way to put things right and to make everything okay. We're very impressed by the way Ella is being run and by the quality of the food. Recommended.

Absolutely beloved this place, lovely staff but the food was delicious. Lots of natural flavours and spices. Meat was cooked perfectly. We do enjoy eating out and this place is definitely our new favourite and very reasonably priced. We couldn't eat all the food, there were so much of it. Will definitely be coming again

Great place, great food, get in early as it's always busy.

Food was quite nice but the service was awful. Rude argumentative waitress. Cracked crockery, she was shocked when we asked her to replace it. Huge chunk out of a water glass, even suggested we did it. Will never return, which is a shame, as the food was quite tasty.

Amazing customer service from the manager herself and all other staff. We were waited on straight away and had a really good laugh. The atmosphere is warm and bubbly. The food was honestly the most authentic Turkish food that was so much like the food I had back in Kalkan. It had so much flavour - my tastebuds were exploding! Can’t wait to be back!!

Had the most delicious meal. We had booked somewhere else but it was closed due to Covid. I'm so glad it was as there is no way it could have been as nice as this. Great value, and excellent and friendly service. Can't wait to go back!

Amazing place ! Everything so delicious! As a vegetarian sometimes it is hard for me to find a place that serves good food for vegetarians. But it's not a case here. Staff very friendly. I found the meal very disappointing, I ordered lamb cuttles with chips, when it arrived it looked like a type of lamb steak, tough not very tasty, and they brought rice instead of chips,

We ordered a delivery of cold meze, hot meze and a share charcoal grill. We we highly disappointed, due to all the cold meze dips being put into one large tin and when it got to us it was one big mush of food, the side salad looked like it had been out for days and was inedible, vine leaves were soaked and drowned in the sauces and soggy, same with the hot platter, we were highly shocked and disappointed as we live very local. When we contacted just eat for a refund, they denied.

Happened to be passing at around 6pm and having noticed this place many times at the traffic lights, Thought we would try it. Free bread and small salad was brought to the table. Service was pleasant The lamb kebab is very strangely described at "diced" lamb. Diced food is around 1cm x 1cm these were small chunks or cubes of around 2-3cm square , The food arrived quite quickly, The shank of lamb was soft and tender and was served in a soup plate in a clear soup with carrots and onion. Although tender I found it rather bland. The lamb kebab was marinated and served quite wet looking, not looking grilled. It was edible but not the best Ive eaten. The chips were disappointing frozen fries , fresh cut chips would make such a difference The overall meal was OK and fair value but didnt blow me away.

Absolutely wounded - waited over an hour and a half for my birthday Ella (Prenton) to arrive - being patient and not ringing assuming they were just busy, to be told the driver is sure he dropped it off…. To a guy with a beer in his hand 😂 … I assured them I had been outside and checked the whole area. Then told it’s going to be a while and they will send the same driver and he will check if he recognises me - if he does he’ll take the food away 😱 - will not use again! 👎 💩

So, 40 minutes after ordering food for delivery, I received a message to say may delivery is going to be delayed by a further hour as they are busy. I rang the restaurant and after speaking to the second member of staff he said they had 4 orders for delivery (including mine) but they only have one driver and it’s Friday night … AND WHAT ? For me, 1 hour and 40 minutes is not acceptable (unless advised upfront) especially when you only have 4 orders to deliver. If you are a restaurant and want to focus on your in house customers, that’s fine, but stop taking orders on just eat if you can’t fulfil them! This wasn’t just an order for a kebab, it was a £60 order. Diana - I believe you are the manager (although not on shift), I hope you review and act upon my feedback.

Food disappointing overcooked steak (supposed to be rib eye more like frying as wafer thin) and frozen chips (fries like McDonald's) cooked yet cold 1/4 tomato 2 mushrooms £17:95 Service waited 2 hours for meal and bill had an overcharge of £24. Thankful not drinking and was able to challenge the overcharge They did deduct the meal that was challenged but added extra drinks x6. Check you bills I

Not only did I spend £40 on 2 meals it tasted vile the rice has some weird maggot thing in that tasted like raw meat the chips were soggy, some weird delivery man comes knocks on the door asif there is a fire in the house he said something in forren and started laughing he was the biggest creep I’ve ever come across!! Do not waste your money on This food I wouldn’t even feed the 3/4 of the food left to my dog

Our sons ordered a takeaway meal from Ella's 28/11/20. Personally I don't do takeaways as have been disappointed over the years. Our sons ordered 4 starters of calamari which came with salads and separate container of hummus and smaller dips plus olives. Starters were really good. Calamari wasn't some frozen tasteless bagged stuff that you often get in restaurants. It was nice thick tender rings of squid cooked in a light batter (delicious).The mains consisted of a 3 traditional mixed kebabs and a seafood kebab. I had the seafood kebab which was full of lovely fish and chunky large prawns (very tasty. ) The mixed kebabs consisted of a good large selection of barbecued meats (tasty yet again.) Delicious Turkish breads and some extra salad was included . It wasn't a cheap takeaway but was more of a restaurant standard takeaway. Nothing felt or tasted over cooked or stewed. There was alot of food. We have some left over to have for lunch tomorrow. Delivery was prompt and food well presented.

As a group of twelve we visited Ella on Sunday 13th September for my daughters thirtieth birthday. A new experience for me as I have never had Turkish food before. I have to say the food is absolutely superb, not one bad meal amongst the twelve of us. Drinks were a little expensive (£5.20 a pint) but water is provided free of charge. Service was a little slow but with twelve of us it's to be expected. Would definitely return again, the food was fantastic.

Not very often I say this but the whole dinning experience here was fantastic, great staff amazing food . We had sharing platter which was very nice and a main which we couldn’t unfortunately finish as portion sizes are big ie great value for money Will be back

My mum booked this restaurant for my sisters birthday last Sunday (23/08/20) and after the meal left the birthday cake which me and my partner had paid for. As soon as we knew this we phoned to make sure it was still there to be told yes it was so when we attended to pick it up on the Tuesday (25/08/20) I was told by the supervisor that it had been binned.i then proceeded to ask why we had not been contacted prior to it getting binned so we could come and collect it to which he replied we had no number for yourselves, so after numerous phone calls to the restaurant to try and get somewhere over the £50 cake we've now received a phone call telling us that we won't be getting the £50 back that they owe is for a cake that hadn't been touched but a poxy voucher to use in their restaurant. I and my family will not be spending any more money in this establishment while this supervisor is working there.

normally we would go to Turkey every year but due to the ongoing covid situation it wasnt to be. However visiting Ella really brought turkey to us !!the food was amazing and the service was second to none I can honestly say we will b returning here and bringing our family with us. Thanks for a lovely evening

Would have given it a Zero if I could. Called on Sunday and placed a booking for 13 people for the following day for 9pm. Turn up with the family, including children, only to be told they could not find the booking and it appears one of their staff had made a mistake. They could not accommodate and also no children allowed after 9pm - something they failed to mention when the booking was made. Waste of time and effort!

Not sure if the extractor fan is broken or its where we was seated but I don't expect to sit with watering eyes throughout my meal! The smoke from the grill was awful and left me with sore eyes the following day, I had to get a shower when I got home as I stunk of smoke to my clothes and hair! Food was lovely as always but didn't feel as if the social distance measures was being followed, couple sat close by to our table, staff not wearing gloves or masks and table was so sticky it made me feel uncomfortable even after asking that it was cleaned again.Also the waitress (mid 30s braids in hair) working last week needs to get some customer service skills as she was very rude! We would go back for the food and we are going to put it down to a bad night and hopefully they will have been audited by our next visit to put measures in place and the extractor fan fixed.

All I can say is awful, there was sweat dripping from the ceiling onto us and our food, my partner witnessed a chef wipe the sweat from his head then touch food on the grill, the table was sticky and floor was extremely slippy, I got a steak kebab and I honestly have never been so disappointed in how it came out, poor quality in food, extremely salty, just bad

Just got back from Ella's Kitchen after the most delicious meal we've had in a long time, there were four if us and we all agreed it was amazing. The staff were lovely, efficient, helpful and friendly , even though the place was very busy. The food was spectacular, full of flavour and plenty of it. I would recommend this place in a heart beat, I'm already planning our next visit.

We visited as we were celebrating a milestone & we couldn't have asked for better the mixed shish & the izgara kofta were amazing as were the salad & onions in pomegranate juice. The team also made sure that everyone was well looked after. Cant wait to return.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I would avoid at all costs. Thoroughly disappointed in service, quality of food and price.

My daughter and I visited here for a much anticipated post lockdown Saturday night out. The staff gave us a friendly welcome when we entered and our table was roomy enough for us to not have any concerns about social distancing. I could see staff regularly cleaning surfaces.Our food was faultless, I had meatballs for starter followed by a mixed kebab. My daughter had halloumi followed by a steak kebab. It really was cooked to perfection.Unfortunately, whilst the food and friendliness of staff undoubtedly warrant a 5 star review, the toilets, beer and billing dragged it down.The male toilet was out of order so men were redirected to the disabled toilet, according to signage it was not possible to lock the door, so privacy could not be assured.After one pint of efes I was informed they had run out and the only draft beer left was Stella 4%.On receiving our bill I noticed we had been charged for a double gin when only a single gin had been ordered and my four pints had all been charged at the premium 'Efes' price rather than 3 of them at the lower 'Stella 4' price. I'm sure it was a genuine mistake but it did take the shine off a very nice evening.All in all, as a place to enjoy lovely food, Ella hits the mark and we will give it another try.

Ordered a take away of the mixed kebab and rice, and the cheese borek. It was amazing and well worth the extra money from buying my usual greasy kebab takeaway. How they make rice so tasty I’ll never know!Came with Turkish bread, salad and really nice dips too which I wasn’t expecting.Will definitely order again and visit the restaurant when it opens.

Ordered a delivery on Just Eat, dead simple spicy chicken thighs, comes with rice and chips and salad, costs £25 for two. I’ve eaten in and had this on a few occasions it’s usually a great dish and generous portions. The chicken was delicious as always however there were two pieces per portion, normally 4 or 5, there was a cup of rice and less than a large handful of chips for 2 people. The salad wasn’t edible, wilted and shrivelled, the bread was like a car tyre and mean sized.If they can't deliver food to a similar standard and portion size as dining in then they should hold on until they can open again, because they’ll soon lose their good reputation otherwise. They need to think carefully if it’s worth their reputation to continue with deliveries. We had cheese on toast half an hour after eating our meal because we were still hungry, not where you want to be after spending over £12 each.One extra 'star' for the tasty chicken otherwise it’d have been one.

Have been wanting to try the food at Ella for a long time as I drive past it on a regular basis. I was therefore delighted to see them on Just Eat, available for delivery - great! The prices seemed very high for take away, so I assumed this must reflect the quality - WRONG. We paid almost £120 for a starter and main for 4 people, two puddings and one small bottle of alcohol.The food turned up round about the right time, but it was barely warm. The £20 starter platter (hot mezze) was nowhere near value for money. The filo pastries were stone cold, as were the fries, and the falafel dry and tasteless. The meat for both starter and main was good but surprisingly most of it was no better than our local kebab shop (we just thought it would be higher quality or better tasting given the price). The bread was terrible (very tough and rubbery), the flatbread soggy and a small carton of salad cost £5!! The meatballs and chicken wings were amazing, as was the salad; the rice was very good. But 100% not worth the £80 to feed 4 for a main course.The alcohol and puddings were missing, so I contacted the restaurant, who were friendly but pretty blase and said they were aware the driver had forgotten part of our order and it would be delivered. 45 minutes later I called again and was told 'I packed it myself, it has definitely been done and is with the driver'. An hour later I called again to be told they were not sure what had happened (bear in mind part of the pudding was ice cream!), and this had happened to another customer ... so they suggested I contact Just Eat to have the items refunded! At this point I finally got an apology.This was a very expensive take away, not restaurant quality, with part of the order missing and quite a blase attitude towards customers. To say I am disappointed is a massive understatement. In future, I will get the starters from M&S (pretty much every starter on offer is available there) and the meat from Heswall Kebab shop - all at less than half the price I paid to Ella's but undoubtedly similar (or better!) quality on many items.A real shame and missed opportunity by Ella's to have a unique food offer on Wirral.
