Elif in Liverpool

Had dinner today at are favourite restaurant elif. We eat here once a week. Food and service is excellent. Big Thank u Harum.

We have been coming to Elif for years. Food is always amazing and service is outstanding. Harun always goes above and beyond to look after us as he did today. our meals always the highest quality and we are well looked after at attended to. Would highly recommend.

I am actually so shocked at the other reviews because what I experienced was vile. The kids chicken items looked like something from a 90s school dinner pre Jamie Oliver. To call it chicken is probably a stretch. It was like frozen, reconstituted deep fried leather. I don't ever expect too much from a kids menu but this was inedible. My daughter ate a small amount and had stomach cramps all evening. The adults meals weren't much better. Garlic mushrooms arrived with a thick layer of skin on the top so I can only surmise had been sitting for some time before reheating. The sigara boregi arrived on a bed of brown & wilted lettuce, and contained a substance which tasted akin to a fried cheese slice. Definitely not the 'fresh food' I was expecting, and especially not for the price. Whole family left the majority of the food and won't be returning. Turkish cuisine is our favourite but this is by far the worst establishment we've visited to date. If you're in Liverpool definitely try Gustum or Istanbul over this place because the quality is miles above that provided by Elif at the same price point.

Excellent place food was amazing. The waiter Harun was amazing, nothing was too much for him. Always Happy and very attentive towards myself the family and the children. This place is a must visit.

This is my Favourite restaurant by far. Today we went for my Birthday meal. The food was AMAZING (the lamb chops are to die for) and you get plenty of it. We had the mixed kabab for 4 and ended up getting some boxed to take home. If you can fit in dessert I would highly recommend the Tralice. The Staff and Management there are fantastic nothing is too much trouble they engage in conversation creating a great atmosphere and the price is really reasonable too.

Staff are amazing. Lee the blonde women on front of house always try’s her best to get me a table even when I never booked she is so welcoming and friendly and has good humour with good banter just makes you feel welcomed. Even though she thought my brother was my dad. Tony and all the staff including the chefs are all so friendly. Food is amazing and I would recommend Elif for 5 star service and 5 star food

I visited Elif today for an early meal. I was astounded by the level of customer service from the Blonde lady who welcomed us and sat us down. The food was amazing and the team working here were second to none. I would highly recommend anyone to visit here for a lovely meal.

Yet again.... nailed it food was amazing staff amazing atmosphere amazing. If you want a nice chill out this place is fantastic, if you are going later on book because it does get full. ENJOY

Tried Elif after hearing about how it was tastes amazing and I have to thoroughly agree The flavours and seasoning were on point. Tried the salmon casserole and it was full of chunky salmon and lovely sauce and vegtables . The double mixed grill kebab was full of the finest meats that was cooked perfectly. The rice fluffy. The only downside is the issue flat breads were just simple tortillas. The actually proper baked bread that came with the abounshine and garlic dip was fluffy and light and crispy on the out side mmm Was expensive but isn't everything this day and age and it was well worth it. Will be back definitely. Parking is very limited.

The best Turkish restaurant there is!! The customer service is unbelievably nothing is too much trouble and we are always made to feel so welcome and special. This restaurant has such lovely warm inviting atmosphere and I believe this is because of how lovely all the staff are. We have tried different Turkish restaurants but nothing comes close. The food is of the highest quality with really big portion sizes. I highly recommend the karisik kebab plus they have the most amazing selection of deserts our favourite is the Turkish tralice cake it’s delicious.

Wow just wow! We had the mixed starter to share and was bursting with flavours, then for mains we had the kebab for 2 (could have fed the whole place)! All of the staff and the manager were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Manager made us feel so welcome on arrival, took us straight to our table and settled us in. Will definitely be returning here and would highly recommend to anybody. Lovely atmosphere

We have been eating here maybe two to three times a year for the last, well a long time, we used to eat at Owen’s. Food and service have always been great but today was an exception. My wife had sea bass which was butterflied and grilled but not filleted? Apparently you are required to ask for it without the bones, presumably some people must like to eat the bones? I had the mixed grill which was ok, the fresh meat portion was quite small and the rice was more like porridge. My wife complained about the fish three times, 1 while trying to eat it, 2 when she gave up trying to eat it and 3 when we had paid the bill and were about to leave. The best response was that the manager would be told about it and the other was that she should have specified she didn’t want the backbone or the meat with the bones grilled in (this was not whole head on baked fish). A small Diet Coke comes as a can of unopened Diet Coke banged on the table with an empty glass. The restaurant was not busy, there were plenty of empty tables and nobody standing by the door waiting for a seat as it often has been. We are both in our 60’s so we’ve been to a lot of restaurants around the U.K. and rest of the world, this reminded me of a Thai restaurant we once visited which served battered deep fried king prawns with the shell on. Sometimes a member of staff can be having a bad day and that’s unfortunate, this was everyone working there seemingly having a bad day.

What a fantastic restaurant! Food is 5 star with an extensive menu which caters for everyone with a vegetarian menu and children’s menu. The staff are amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them and they were so lovely. My friend and I had a wonderful dinner with beautiful food and staff in lovely surroundings. Highly recommend this restaurant and they cater for parties too. I would recommend booking if possible as it is very popular and gets very busy of a weekend but we didn’t have to wait long at all for our food or drinks. I would give Elif 5 stars 🌟 very good!!

Elif Restaurant is an absolute gem in Liverpool! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm ambiance and friendly staff Nahid and Lee very amazing 10/10 . Serving a wide range of Turkish, delicious food with great vegetarian options in a busy restaurant. Staff were efficient and polite . Reasonably prices . It was Mother's day so the place was extremely busy and noisy. [A bit of a challenge for hearing impaired.] But that's a challenge in most places . On the positive note, there was an absence of loud music . Parking is a bit of a challenge for people without permits . There is a small ca4 park hidden behind the restaurant which is situated on the opener of Queens drive at the roundabout junction. Plqn your parking before you visit! I understand people.park in the Childwall pub car park opposite. A nice change from eating in the city centre .

My 1st time trying Turkish good and I was very impressed. I was visiting Liverpool from Vancouver, chose Elif for dinner one night and was happy I did. Love the food.

I can’t comment on the food because just to make the booking was an absolute hassle. I booked online and paid the deposit. When I called up 24 hours later to check if the booking had been confirmed the staff couldn’t tell me. It was so long winded that it didn’t fill me with any confidence. When I asked for my deposit back (within the adequate notice period <48 hrs from booking date) none of the staff were able to do this. Only one member of staff seems to be trained to do this and it took me an entire week of constant ringing to find a time were this person was at work able to refund the deposit. Felt very much like a money grabbing scan. Very unprofessional and disorganised - such a shame cause the food reviews sound good but to make or cancel the booking itself was a disaster.

Fab Dilovan!!! What a fantastic person and member of staff at Elif. We had lunch today and I can honestly say he goes above and beyond. Dilovan was on his own, a Friday afternoon and it was very busy. He was greeting customers as they arrived, seating them, taking orders, he was behind the bar serving drinks, waiting on, I'm sure I saw him preparing food too, he was clearing tables and sorting the bills out. We also observed him answering the telephone too ....We felt exhausted watching him!! Wonderful food too by the way. Elif you have one fabulous member of staff and you should really value him, he is Amazing. I hope he is appreciated. Well done Dilovan!!

Very good food great service but look out for the vat they now at on your bill I believe this is normal now in all restaurants like the USA

Went for dinner and it was kinda positive. I’m the food took kinda long as we were in the restaurant for 3 hours for some kids meal and the big platter. But they compensated for the wait with their EXTRA SPECIAL bread and I do not like bread but if it’s garlic or like this or it’s a sandwich with fillings then I’m down. I can say it was great. The meat was not as rough and hard as some bad steakhouses and the meats were mostly lamb so take caution. The atmosphere was so loud even at nighttime as they randomly jumpscare with the birthday song. They should reduce the volume by 20% as I have a slight headache. Overall, I probably would visit again as it is a great restaurant with great food and service IF there wasn’t the extra loud birthday music.

We chose elif for a meal after a christening as I had been once before and the food was lovely. There was 28 people and the service and food was excellent. Everyone’s meals were cooked to a high quality. We were all sat together and the staff were friendly and attentive. Having such a great experience made the day go to plan. Would definitely book again

Had a takeaway all I can say is SUPERB !!!!I love everything about this place The staff are so helpful and they work so hard . It’s my favourite Turkish restaurant 👍

Ordered a takeaway for £52, mix-grill was lukewarm and the chips were stale as if they were leftovers . Nothing about the meal seemed fresh. Very disappointing.. Will not return.

I cannot compliment this restaurant enough it's brilliant Food tremendous. Staff brilliant We spent New Year's Eve there and the atmosphere. Was so lovely. We love this place. Please try it.

Have been here many times over the years and had a wonderful experience. However this visit didn’t live up to its usual standard. There were 12 in the party (booked weeks ago), and several other groups in as well, but there appeared to be only one waiter, when we arrived, including getting drinks.. Waited maybe 20 minutes before drinks order taken, then another 20 before food order taken. Starters came and were all fine. However, when the mains came, several were only warm and 1 was cold., which was returned to the kitchen to be reheated/replaced. Also the youngest child’s food didn’t arrive and had clearly been forgotten. After pointing this out, it eventually came, but several of the koftas were barely cooked, so had clearly been rushed. Luckily another member had the same, so was able to give him 2 of hers. Two year olds don’t wait indefinitely for food even with toys to pacify them. The cost of some meals were deducted from the bill, but shouldn’t have needed to be, if all had been ok. Restaurant of this size needs more staff for large bookings. (At least 3more staff arrived later, but too late for us.). Also a food thermometer for meats. Sorry Elif, won’t be rushing back.

My friend and I decided to go for lunch and we couldn't have picked a better place to eat the food, service and atmosphere were perfect.

We have just been for the first time and will definitely be returning. Made to feel very welcome and service was quick. We had the mixed grill for 4 and everything was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Really good price and worth every penny. We parked behind the restaurant but when we got back the car the car park was full (left about 4ish). You can park in pay and display in the pub over the road though. Thank you for a lovely meal, see you soon.

We were craving for Turkish cuisine. The food was all wasted it was soooo chewy we couldn't eat at all. Not a good place to go for us.

Unexpectedly the best meal I’ve had this year. It was FABULOUS. No faults whatsoever. The hot mezze was beautiful, the meat platter was juicy and succulent and even the rice was memorable, it was warming and almost had a vanilla flavour. The sesame bread was glorious and we got topped up throughout the meal. Also…random choice but we picked a white sangria to drink. So delicious. Super busy inside and a queue to get in, luckily we managed to book about an hour before going! Considering moving to Liverpool. Very reasonably priced for such a delicious meal. The staff were also lovely and helpful despite the chaos of the place. Highly recommend!

Went in for a meal never been to this place so thought I should try it out as me and my husband always go past and it always looks full . Such an amazing place . Would highly recommend as food was 5/5 😋, very generous and at a suitable price. We got some staters and then for the main course we got the recommendation of the mixed grill for 2 , which we had to doggie bag most of it as it was too tasty to leave behind. We didn’t book but would recommend you do especially on the weekends but thank you to Harun who got us a table as soon as possible. All the staff are friendly and they look after you very well , making sure everything is ok . A special thank you to Karwan and Estera , who made sure nothing was missing and making sure we are happy. Would definitely come back !!

We celebrated my birthday here for 45 guests on the top floor and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, service impeccable and staff so kind and friendly. Huge thanks especially to Haroon for managing the party, helping us with menu choices and allowing us to decorate the night before at closing time so it was less stress on the day. Head chef was amazing and the food was loved by all guests. Waiters and waitresses were friendly professional and excellent. Thanks again!

We attended a birthday party for 40+ people, the staff were fabulous and worked very hard to serve us quickly. The food was fantastic, we have no complaints there. We used the toilets on the top floor which were kept nice and clean. There is free parking at the rear which can get full very quickly so I suggest using the Pay and Display parking at Weatherspoon opposite or the side roads.

On an impulse, we stopped here on our way to Allerton Road - I'm so glad we did. We were offered the full menu - or a lunch menu which seemed to include a big enough selection for a quick meal! We chose two starters, sukuk sausage and liver, from the hot meze section and adana kebab and lamb kebab from the mains. We soon got a large plate of tasty liver with cooked and raw onions and some very nice grilled sausage with salad and a big bowl of pitta bread. Two big plates then arrived bearing a couple of large adana kebabs and two skewers worth of soft lamb kebabs both with a heap of rice which were closely followed by a big bowl of salad including red cabbage pickled in a tasty dressing. We also had a yoghurt dip and a gently but very tasty chilli and tomato salsa. Needless to say, we called for a doggy bag, which was readily offered. It was DEFINITELY a good meal and is a restaurant to visit again - for the full menu, one evening!

Incredible evening for my sisters 40th birthday celebrations. Highly recommend Elif outstanding communication from booking the table to delivering balloons, requesting table layout and arriving. Excellent service from the lovely Estera, Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and were always on hand for our requests including playing music for us at the end of the evening. Despite the restaurant being empty the staff never rushed us out and allowed us to finish our drinks and order taxi’s. Several of us ordered the mixed kebab for two(number56 on the menu) and there was no shortage of meat and everything was cooked to perfection. We’ll certainly be back again soon, Thanks again Elif you made my sisters

Ordered the beyti and the mixed grill and they were both massive let downs. All thr food came out over cooked and undone and the service was meh.

We had our Daughters surprise 40th birthday meal on the Mezzanine, 13 of us which was a mixture of ages. The staff made our whole experience fantastic , nothing was too much trouble, we had a fantastic waitress called Esterra, she looked after us all evening, she joined in with our celebrations, as did all the staff . The food was 100% fabulous, even the younger children ate everything. Thank so much to you all, you made our Daughter Rebecca's birthday meal so special. We will definitely be back soon and look forward to another fantastic night.

Delicious Casual tea with my mum. We’ve been a few times now. Friendly staff, good portions- I always take half home it’s so big! Vegan options. The only poor experience I’ve had is when we were sat upstairs but this time we were downstairs and enjoyed watching the kitchen. Will be back for sure.

The bread changed me as a person

We have visited Elif on Bold Street on several occasions, when we can get in that is, and have always enjoyed the food. Our intension was to go there again but time was moving on (wanted to back back for the LFC game) so remembered that we virtually pass another of their branches on the way so decided to give it a go. It's nicer fitted out inside, not as rustic as Bold Street, but the menu is the same, although they don't appear to offer the two course set meals here ? We ordered drinks and our food, our usual Shish, one chicken and one mixed which gets you chicken and lamb. They arrived a short time later. Excellent portions of quality meat with the most amazing flavour. It is served with really nice rice, a very fresh salad bowl and, unlike our last couple of visits to Bold Street, a basket of the most gorgeous bread which I cannot resist. We managed to finish the lot but were extremely full afterwards. Everything tasted superb, perhaps the best food we've had at Elif. Too full for pudding. At £18 for the main dish each it may not be the cheapest meal you can get but it's actually fabulous value for money for what you get. Looking forward to our next visit, may be Bold Street as we tend to go for a walk around the city centre, but would not hesitate to come here again and would highly recommend

Dropped in without a booking, looked quite busy but the team found us a table. Ordered the Sarma Kuzu and hells bells, what a dish! Tasty, big portions and very reasonably priced, ticked all my boxes! The team were very friendly and the dessert trolley looked epic (didnt go for one as i was already at the point of needing a wheelbarrow to get me out of there). Will 100% be back.

Ok firstly the food when it arrived was very good. Portion size and price was very good as too was the quality. What I wasn’t happy with was the length of time from sitting down to taking my order, 20 x mins, another 30 x mins later the starters arrived then another 45 x mins after that the main course arrived so over 2 x hours for 2 x courses. Priority is clearly given to take away orders over diners in the restaurant hence the food delays. The restaurant should have a separate entrance for food pick up, for me it spoils the feel when people are stood right by you whilst waiting for a take away whilst you are eating and then taking boxes of food away through the main door.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times for lunch recently and the food and service are just great. A lovely atmosphere and great service from Harun as always, service with a smile.

-We ordered water for drinks, it never came, I had to get up and ask again for it. - I kindly requested a change of table in two occasions because both tables were in very uncomfortable places. Apparently a waiter/waitress told the manager I was not pleasant. Obviously, if I was not comfortable, I had to make my experience comfortable. Then I understood why this happened. I looked around and I was the only foreigner (customer) in the restaurant. Rest of them were English people. White people. -Very defensive manager(English). The place is clearly full of RACIST staff. -EXTREMELY LOUD. Not a nice place to have a lovely time. - I have been to the ones in Lark Lane and in Bold Street and I have Never gone through this! I have been a customer for years. This one is definitely the worst. NOT COMING BACK, I DONT RECOMMEND IT!
