Me and my gf have been doing the Skye trail. Which means coming to Elgol is a 18 km walk over mountain range from Slingachan. There is not much there in Elgol but this little hall. We found there a very friendly lady with well equipped basic groceries shop and a coffee machine :) We arrived 5 minutes before the shop closes (17:00) and we have been still perfectly served. We have been also able to resupply for the next stage of the trip. The coffee was excellent and you just have to try one of the local cakes :) So for all walkers on the trail - this is a great place to rest a bit and get what you need to continue the trip.

We stopped in on a drive out to Elgol for a quick coffee. Although the menu wasn't very extensive we settled on the soup and were very happy, it was delicious! This great little place also sold some really nice knickknacks.

The Aurora hotel was the exact experience that my family needed. After bustling around Edinburgh for 3 days, it was nice to slow down in this relaxing and safe seaside village. The Aurora is owned and operated by a friendly English woman and Italian man. The combination makes you feel like you are visiting your own relatives. The bathroom and room were very clean. If you are an avid traveler that enjoys the simple pleasures of delicious food and great conversation, then don’t hesitate to book. We will never forget our warm stay and exquisite dinner at the Aurora.

The ice cream was simply amazing, tasted great and had a perfect consistency. The service was also great: friendly, fast and attentive. I'd love to come back!

They dished out what I can describe as only the best prawn ls I've had since Lanzarote, and that's a feat. The staff were polite, the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was nice, and I would say for the quality the prices were fair. I would heartily recommend going here if you're looking for good food.
