Elena DiRollo in East Lothian

I did not know that they have a few tables in the back of the ice cream shop. Popped in and had a coffee and a cake, next time I am in Fisherrow I will be calling in there.

The ice cream is beautiful! We visited here while on holidays and called in to try it out. It would be worth the ferry and drive back just for the ice cream.

Visited this morning to stock up freezer with undoubtedly the best ice cream. Door open and entered shop. Staff behind counter duly informed us they didn't open until 11.00. Fair enough but don't open the door until you are open. By the way, it was 10.57, going on 10.58. Maybe, we were just expecting too much.

Another fabulous visit to Di Rollos. They have a great selection of delicious ice cream, most of which is gluten free,some vegan options too, and now they also stock gluten free cones. I've had my 1st proper ice cream cone in years!! Staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgable. A traditional family run business who like to focus on their customers and offer good quality products with that personal touch. Thanks to the lovely Elaine and Marianne for looking after us coeliacs. Look forward to my next visit

Came here while on holiday and couldn't get over the choices of flavours of ice cream and sorbets. Very difficult to make a choice but he!pful, friendly and knowledgeable staff let us taste a selection so we could make up our minds. So good was our first visit as just had to come back again for more! Will be visiting again on our next trip to Musselburgh!!

If you are into your chocolate and ice cream then this is heaven, a wondrous selection of chocolates complimented by a terrific variety of ice cream flavours.

Myself, partner and children popped in one afternoon for an ice cream. Vast choice of flavours and the ice cream is beautiful. However the service is not great, and actually has put me off from going back. This is the second time I have been to this shop and the second time I’ve felt uncomfortable going into this shop. The younger staff that served us were nice enough. However there were others who were in the store at the time that really could do with brushing up on there customer service skills and not appear to look down there nose at people. Such a shame as the ice cream is beautiful. If you aren’t fussed for service and purely just nipping in for ice cream absolutely go in! My rating is purely for the ice cream.

Visited bank Holiday Monday. What a lovely visit. The ice cream was fabulous and the service from Elena and her team could not be faulted. Full of nostalgia too, with super photos and price lists from bygone days. And what a braw shop full of lots of goodies - beautiful chocolates and sweets from the big jars. Yum!

Elena DiRollo's Ice Cream is superior in every way. So many flavours, you think of it they have got it. Make sure you pop in when you are in Musselburgh , it is situated opposite The Brunton Hall. Once you have tasted their Ice Cream you will not go anywhere else.

This is the place for ice ceam and food is delightful as are the staff. Not living on past reputation. A great place for all if you want an ice cream.

A venue not to be missed. OK, not a lot of food on the menu, but with the variety and quality of ice cream available, you don't need food! Staff are so friendly too. Well done, Elena - you're the best!

We were disappointed to arrive at the sea front in Musselburgh and to find nowhere that sold drinks or ice cream - I guess a Scottish sea front is not devoted to selling buckets, spades and goodies, Luckily we were pointed in the direction of Di Rollo's, about 200 yards from the front and found the most wonderful ice-cream/coffee/chocolate shop. My lemon and mango sorbet (double scoop) was absolutely amazing, and my wife said that her chocolate chip and raspberry double scoop was excellent. Conveniently, over the road is a little square by the Brunton Hall, which offers a perfect sun-trap where you can sit and eat your ice, and watch Musselburgh go by. The prices were very good (£ 1.95 for a double scoop of the best ice-cream in Britain!)

Took my nephew for a treat, he loved his ice cream sundae. They have any flavour you want. I came away with some delicious chocolates, you can pick your own selection! They are totally delicious!

Di Rollos serves a great range of ice creams! Very high quality and delicious. Although quiet, the staff are welcoming and polite. Will definitely be returning!

Went in for coffee and tea. great selection of chocolates and ice cream which I think is main business, but sitting in the small area for a tea it was chilly. Staff very polite and chatty.

Maravillosa variedad de helados a la venta todos los producidos dentro de la familia en su fábrica cerca hacen de este lugar una visita obligada. Algunas mesas añadido ahora para sentarse con amigos para tomar un café o incluso uno de él afore experiencias ciem.

Esta tienda vende un montón de diferentes sabores de helados y es difícil escoger lo que quieras ya que todos nosotros delicioso. He estado aquí muchas veces y hemos probado la mayoría de los sabores y tengo que decir que este es el mejor helado que me he comido.

One of the best ice creams I have ever tasted with an amazing choice of various flavours try the double cone with two different flavours .

Love DiRollos, there is such a great variety of ice cream, I especially love the New York Strawberry Cheesecake when it is on offer. They provide great hampers for presents if you are looking for something a little different or will make up a little box with a mix of delicious chocolates if you are after a 'little something'

Always a tough choice of where to get ice cream in Musselburgh, and my preference is di Rollo. Big fan of the sorbets as well as ice cream. Staff are always friendly and helpful. When asked they changed a red rose to a white rose on the top of a birthday box of chocolates as my chum was from Yorkshire.

good selection of quality creamy ice-cream, yummy the ice-cream and sorbets quaint little shop that also has a selection of chocolates (Not made on the premises) not sure of the origin so I have not been tempted to purchase them. Not had a tea or coffee in the shop but the aroma of the coffee smells good.

They're ice cream is still lovely, but does not compare to S.Luca which is just a 5 minute walk across the bridge and along the High Street. Personal taste of course, but Elena DiRollo's is still a lovely ice cream shop, and the service is always very friendly.

The best for flavoured ice cream in town. While another company is best for Vanilla ice cream, DiRollo is best for flavoured ice cream. If you want to try something different get the Turkish Delight flavoured ice cream its amazing

this is a quaint little ice cream and chocolate shop, amazing ice cream and lovely chocolates it has a little place to sit and have a coffee, I must try the coffee, but do not pass this place by you must stop and for sure have an ice cream

Don't believe what you read about "the other place". This is the best ice cream in Musselburgh by far. Expect to wait a while if you arrive on a hot summers day, but it's well worth the wait for the delights of peaches and cream, amongst a plethora of fabulous flavours.

love this ice cream quaint little shop, for chocolates and good ice cream, many people know the famous Lucas ice cream, this name DiRollo, should be as famous as I personally prefer this ice cream its more creamy, and its my number one choice

Knowing that DiRollo’s has been there since I lived in Edinburgh as a youth and probably before, my wife and I went in for a coffee when travelling up to Fife from Yorkshire.The seating area wasn’t big but adequate and you really felt you were in a shop, not a café. The young lady who served us was very nice and made us a good coffee and we chose a couple of cakes and that’s where the disappointment crept in.With such a good reputation for their famous ice-cream and hand-made sweets, we expected home-made type cakes. But sadly, no. I would guess they were bought in from a café supplier as they seemed a bit less than we expected of this establishment. It was just such a let down, especially when there are so many businesses that can supply really nice home-made type confectionery.I hope this feedback might help them to sort this out for future customers.

Elena DiRolla is situated opposite the Brunton Theatre in the heart of Musselburgh and is particularly well-known for its very popular ice cream which is available in several flavours. They also sell a variety of sweets and novelty gifts.

There are two ice cream parlours at opposite ends of Musselburgh, I preferred this one. Not that the other one was poor, in fact the opposite, the other one was very good. However, this ice cream shop is like a throwback to the 50's. it is old, traditional, and family owned. The other shop is more commercial. I went to one straight after the other. A perfect day out for me. I suggest you do the same. Any excuse eh?!

DiRollo's is a Musselburgh institution, and when you taste their ice-cream you will know why! This is the real thing, smooth and creamy, plus they have a huge range of flavours. definitely recommend.

Fabulous icecream flavours my favourite Turkish delight, also white chocolate champagne truffles as well as all the other quality chocs.

I have always loved their ice-cream, lots of different flavours and god tub and cone sizes.I'v never been in the cafe but it is always busy so that tells you something.I highly recommend a visit.

Mussleburgh is filled with great ice-cream chops and this is definitely one of them. The staff are polite and the place is virtually spotless. There is a huge choice of ice cream flavours and confectionary great for kids. My girls love it here and I come here all the time.

The good people of Musselburgh have two awesome ice cream parlors to choose from, they are very lucky!DiRollo's has an excellent selection of gorgeous ice creams to choose from, from traditional favourites like Raspberry Ripple to the delicious Fudgy Wudgy! Staff are friendly and attentive and service is fast and efficient.If you love ice cream you must visit.

This ice cream is to die for so is the other two made in Musselburgh. My favorite iscecream from Dirollos is the chocolate mint chip it is the best I have tasted all over the world well done to the DiRollo family. Your father would be so proud of you for keeping his excellent work done so well. Everytime I am home i have one of your ice creams mmmmmmmmm delicious.

As everything in this world goes completely modern and hi tech what a pleasure it is to visit DiRollo's. As soon as you walk in you are transported back to your childhood when ice cream and sweetie's was your ultimate fantasy, the staff are welcoming and very friendly and the handmade chocolates complement the delicious ice cream which is the best in Musselburgh and Edinburgh. Your main problem is chosing from the large selection they have and whether to ignore the calories and go for the extra large tub mmmmmmmmmm. As the better weather starts to creep in there can be nothing better than going down to Musselburgh, getting stocked up at DiRollo's and having a walk along the shore. FANTASTIC.

This is a small, old fashioned ice cream shop on Bridge Street in Musselburgh. There is tremendous rivalry in Musselburgh between DiRollo's and Luca's, but I think that DiRollo's ice cream just has the edge. As well as ice cream (also available in larger tubs as well as in small one or in cones), the shop also sells Belgian chocolates and old fashioned sweets.The Lanna Thai restaurant, which I also recommend, is located next door.

What a great place for Ice Cream in Musselburgh. In Musselburgh they make three different Ice Creams each is great. Di Rollos make several hundred different kinds. My favourite was Chocolate Chip Mint. The Best I have ever tasted for Chocolate Chip Mint. I certainly will be going to Musselburgh for all that wonderful Ice Cream.I would like to think that this is the best Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream that I have ever tasted the other flavours are very good too. This Ice Cream again is made on the premises using again all the fresh produce of East Lothian.I highly recommend this Ice Cream Parlour. They are also a sweet shop selling many different kinds of boilings and chocolates that are hand made from around the Lothian.
