I hadn't eaten at the Elaichi for many years because I felt that the quality of food had declined considerably in comparison with what was served when the restaurant first opened. However, having heard that it was under new management, I thought that I would give Elaichi another try and was pleased that I did. The service was efficient and the staff were very polite. The new owners have several other Indian restaurants and had brought in chefs from one of these properties on a pro temps basis, with the new chefs apparently due to arrive soon from Dubai. The party that I was with had hoped to order lamb chops as a starter, but these were unavailable. Instead, we had chicken and lamb tikkas, and these were really nicely cooked. The shashlik mains were a little on the small size but were tender and very well spiced. Also, the tarka dhal was one of the best that I have tasted. Prices at Elaichi are currently very reasonable, and I am looking forward to trying the food here again when the new chefs arrive.

Had an excellent meal at the Elaichi. Prawn pathia and chicken korai were delicious. We’ll definitely be going back.

our second visit here on new years eve was very busy , had to wait a while for drinks and poppadoms and starters but given the busy evening im not going to be upset the staff are very friendly. our starters came out and not long after that the mains followed. all in all great food and the staff did well under pressure saw takeaways flying out the door so all in all 10/10 👍. highly recommended

Very friendly staff lovely food eating in or takeaway. never had a problem with anythink allways offer to help if your not sure what's in it and happy to change it if not happy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight. The food was outstanding, so was the staff and ambiance of the restaurant, well done! We live local and have struggled to find a good Indian restaurant for some time now, so lucky to now have you on our doorstep.

Been going to Elaichi for a good few years, they usually have great curry's, but disappointed with them this time round. Ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and it was effectively chicken in cream of tomato soup, lacked flavour and had a watery consistency. Will not be going back.

After a long absence, we visited Elaichi again yesterday evening for dinner for four. I'm please to report that we were not disappointed. The decor and atmosphere were great and the staff and service were both excellent. We all thought that the food and drink were good. We will be visiting again and/or ordering take-away. Thank. Me and my partner visited the elaichi this evening for a traditional Indian meal and the standards were very much met !! The staff were excellent very welcoming and the food was delicious will definitely be making a return visit!!

Probably one of the best curry’s i have ever tasted ! I don’t normally leave reviews but i like to read them when I am ordering from a new place , everything we ordered was just perfect and so yummy! Cant wait for another takeaway night .

First time here. Food and service good. We both had a Biriani. Parking round back in car park was near enough.

By far the best around. Bangladeshi-influenced dishes, a surprisingly good wine list and attentive service combine to give a great dining experience.

One lovely waiter and one very grumpy waiter. Unfortunately we didn't see much of the former. Our whole group had a feeling that we were in the way and it was a pain us being there. No high chair for the little one and in general very bad vibes. That being said 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered were very nice and the final one was wayy too sweet. It tasted like a desert. With a different waiter it could have been a very different experience.

Edited to add that recent takeaways have not been as good, so taking off a star. We'll probably be looking elsewhere now. Really nice food and good service. We've eaten in in the past and had a couple of takeaways. Unlike so many places it's actually spicy when they describe a dish as spicy. Some Indian food can be very oily too and this wasn't. Highly recommended.

I needed to use the ladies desperately, I was quickly ushered in, I then ordered a bottle of water as a thank you and the manager/ owner insisted on it being on the house!! I haven't eaten here but based on their incredible kindness I will honestly suggest everyone pop in a vist! I couldn't even imagine how wonderful they treat their paying guests!! Thank you!

First time we've had food from here, but not the last. Our delivery arrived on time, food was nice and hot. Everything was tasty and I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be ordering again in the future.

Located on the Frimley parade of shops opposite White Hart pub with plenty of parking at the rear (payable 24/7 although sign above entrance (see my pic) states parking free after 6pm!). Our 5yr old grandson enjoys nothing more than a curry and said he really enjoyed his chicken tikka masala and accompaniments. I had chicken madras and it was a bit hotter than I expected! Staff were friendly and have to say we all enjoyed the food but surprisingly there’s no dessert menu? When we visited on a Saturday evening they were very busy with takeaways (free delivery or 15% off for collection).

Excellent meal with fantastic selection of standard and exotic meals together with perfect service. Strongly recommend you give this superb restaurant a try. Will definitely return.

Great homely food - perfect spice and not over whelming, first time visited and certainly will be going back. Great vegetarian selection and good service.

Food quality and taste is average. We did takeaway garlic naan, tandoor roti and mix grill. The breads were good but mix grill was pretty disappointing. No taste whatsoever and it was very bland. The chutney they gave with mix grill was sweet. Wont recommend their mix grill atleast.

Absolutely the nicest Indian restaurant around! Excellent service, beautiful food and great atmosphere. Sunday-Thursday all you can eat menu is just what we like. We keep returning!!!! Even the drinks are reasonable!! Roll on next visit.

We visited for the first time NYE with friends who are regular customers, and love the food here. We were not disappointed! We usually stick with our favorite Camberley Asian restaurant, but we will be adding this to our favorites. The food was delicious, fresh and high quality. When ordering the server made recommendations as to what rice would go best with the dishes we had ordered which I've never experienced before and appreciated. The food was brought out quickly, fresh and hot. The food was made with authentic ingredients and an ingredient I had never come across before in my experience with asian food (which I love as a cuisine) When I asked the server what it was he explained and then brought out another sample of the particular ingredient for me to try separately while he explained what it was and how they make and use it. I was really impressed at the attentiveness of the server, he was clearly passionate about the food they serve and he made us feel welcome and valued. We will be back as regular customers!

Food was really lovely, staff very friendly and attentive, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. Also the price was very good. Definitely going again . If you haven't been, try it, you'll love it.

UPDATE: The restaurant has responded to this review (below) and unfortunately has felt the need to be rude, dishonest and insulting :-( We will not lower ourselves to the same standard of conduct but just correcting facts to readers. Alcohol drinks WERE ordered beyond the table water (for children) by us and delivered to the wrong diners on our table, then later a Prosecco with glass (for the table opposite) was presented to our table. The restaurant wishes to make up their own version of events - which only discloses their demeanour towards their customers - therefore one star deducted for telling lies and making condescending remarks to a honest review. As two families (with kids), of Indian and Nepalese origin, we often eat out together to sample various Asian cuisines. Not exactly professional critics but we have fairly experienced taste palettes for this part of the food spectrum (from authentic and variety dishes in the UK, India, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, etc.) and our simple verdict was that Elaichi fails miserably to deliver an authentic East Asian food experience. We sampled a broad range of starter and main (veg, fish and meat) dishes, sides, salads, breads and rice, and won't deep dive into each one, but in short, if you just fancy 'a plain curry night out' then you won't be disappointed and the heat (in both senses) should satisfy the average, occasional diner unbothered about the dish character and flavoursome recipes. Beyond the taste and its lacking of depth and flavours, a significant proportion of the absent stars is down to Elaichi not serving sensible, fair portions. All dishes sampled were ridiculously lacking in portion (for their price point) hence this is not a restaurant to go to if you are hungry and have a 'normal' budget of say £20 per head - which for us we know could achieve much more and better food for the same price. If you can afford to double that price per head, go ahead and give Elaichi a go. Other notable non-foodie failings included: no welcoming contact upon arrival by staff, regular contact on offering of poppadum (as if one waiter was on a mission all evening to push them out and claim sales commission - quite laughable but disruptive nonetheless), a loud chef who was insistent on declaring each dishes arrival, drinks being ordered to wrong diners (not just across the same table but across other customers too!), no soap whatsoever in the gents (this one could spell trouble legally for the restaurant if it's not a one off). In summary, I think it goes without saying that Elachi in Frimley is not recommended by us. We understand times are hard for small businesses and hope our honest review of two stars will not significantly lower the average rating. Actually, Elaichi in comparison to other 'Indian' restaurants, is not far from one star but not quite there. We wish the business well and hope they can take this review constructively and positively, and are able to improve and give their nearby competitors something to worry about. For now, Elaichi is not for us.

Food average. Service poor. Tried to charge for another serving when our 4 year old join the buffet by eating a bit of naan.

Second time we’ve had takeaway from Elaichi and both times it’s been superb. In my opinion they are far better than similar restaurants in the local area. Definitely now my default takeaway.

Had a fabulous meal. We were 4 people and the head waiter was excellent when we were ordering to advise if a rice or side was not complementary to our main dish and recommended alternatives to enhance our flavour experiences to the full. Good quality food, great flavours, fresh. Nice atmosphere with a waiter that knew his menu and wanted us to have the best taste experience. Will definitely return. Thanks to Elaichi (means Cardamon)

A few of us went to Elaichi last night for a bight to eat and a catch up. The food and service was absolutley spot on! We'll definitely be back...

My husband and a few friends went to Elaichi a few months ago on a boys night out and really sung the praises of not only the excellent food, but exemplary service. We live about 25 miles away so waited till getting together with some other friends who live near Frimley. I was really keen to experience it for myself. We visited early on a Friday evening and it was quiet so we had very quick service. The waiter explained that they cook everything fresh and so when I asked if the lamb would be tender he assured me it would. In fact everything was tender - more tender lamb than I’ve ever had actually- and the flavours were fresh and rich. My chicken tikka was full of flavour and my husbands fish starter was unusual and really delicious. I had fruity lamb passanda main and it was exceptional. I thought my husband would find it too sweet but he loved it too. He had Achari lamb and he adored it. Very zesty lime flavour which was great as he loves lime pickle whereas it’s not for me! It went down very well with one of our friends though who had chosen the classic tikka masala. Vegetables sides were really good too and I would say this is possibly the best food served in any Indian continent restaurant I’ve had. The chef is pushing the boundaries for the typical English palate - thank goodness!!!! There are dishes on this menu that are unusual and delicious. Be adventurous and ask for a recommendation from the proprietor as he is also a chef. You won’t be disappointed

Banging curry well worth a visit

Nice. Menu varied and a little bit different from regular curry house. Promising start. Service very good. Food nicely presented and place generally clean. Only down side and kind of spoiled it a bit was whilst the quality of the cooking and flavours was very good, the quality of the meat used was really not. Chicken had quite a lot of gristle. Lamb had quite a lot of fatty bits. Put us off what otherwise would have been a really nice meal.

We attended Elachi for a farewell to a friend dinner, the restaurant had a huge booking on the same night. The food was superb, served both fresh and piping hot! Oh my the staff worked hard to take care of us all. Thank you Elachi we had a wonderful evening.

I am not a fan of Indian food. My friend loves it so I used to visit the restaurant with her. I really enjoyed the food so much that when fancy it I order it for a takeaway, I order this everytime. The mushroom rice is so fresh and fragrant. The keema naan so light and fluffy. The shaslick so so tasty. Onion bajis are bite size and so flavoursome. Everytime I have been in or ordered it's the same really good quality Thank you so much.

A long time customer, I have now waited over two and a half hours for a delivery...not acceptable when it was promised within the hour after I ordered it. Food is ok but service has gone downhill recently.

I asked the waiter for his recommendation on dish as I wasn't sure what to get so described what I like and that I'd rather a "special" from the restaurant rather than a standard tikka, etc. which could be got anywhere. I should also note that I have a gluten allergy and almost anything could be catered for me here which is great! His recommendations for both me and my friend were really tasty and very fresh. Only minor comment I would make is the rice is a very small portion - I would recommend you get one rice per person, we shared one between the two of us and it wasn't quite enough. I thought the prices were very reasonable and weren't overpriced at all.

Had a lovely meal at Elaichi yesterday evening, good choice of dishes and it was nice to see some new ones I hadn't tried before. Food was lovely, good size portions and nicely presented. Even on a Thurs night the place was full so a good atmosphere to eat in. The stand out factor though was the staff! I didn't catch his name but the main man was informative, friendly and funny. He made us feel welcomed and a little bit special. We will definitely be going back!

I really like the food from this restaurant but I think their delivery service is very poor. I had to phone twice and was told it had just left so would be there in 10 minutes but my order was nearly an hour late! In future I will pick it up myself. It spoiled my husband's food as his had arrived on time from elsewhere.
