El Santo's in Glasgow City

What a great experience! We loved all the food, the Latin American menu is really delicious. Pastel, caçava, and tacos were the highlights for us, everything was well done. Special thanks to the excelent members of staff Kristina and Vinicius, they are doing great hospitality!

Was pretty quiet! We ordered the chefs menu. It was a decent portion of food though the tacos were hard to split in half if you wanted to try each others. They made guacamole at the table and there was even a dry ice number! I think its pretty expensive, but I do think it's reflected in the quality and showman ship!

Came in here for a drink, lovely place, the woman serving was brilliant and gave us a recommendation for the West End for another day so added to the list. Definitely will be returning to try food.

Went to El Santos last night, and it was absolutely fantastic. The food, the quality, and the service were all top-notch. We had tacos, and honestly—the best tacos ever. Fresh ingredients, packed with flavour, and perfectly balanced. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for incredible Mexican food in Glasgow, this is the place to go. Can't wait to go back!

I went there for the East European party on the 25th of February and everything was great. Great stuff, food and cocktails were pretty good and the party itself was amazing.

Our second time at El Santo and I can definitely confirm that the place is amazing. We booked a table for my birthday and Shradha (thank you again) our server was fantastic, she even brought a little treat for me. The rodizo was really good, meat was fresh and tasty and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back

We have been to Eastern European party in El Santo (actually in a lovely location of El Santito) and everything went fantastic. We had a lovely dinner first in the main restaurant with perfect service and super tasty dishes (everything we had was to die for!), entertainment and then headed to the party. It was amazing place, great music, lovely staff looked after us with a separate bar. Looking forward to be back.

We attended Eastern European party at El Santo in Feb 28th 2025. It was well organised party in great surrounding. El Santo's food was exceptional and so we're cocktails. They had dancers performing through the night which added to atmosphere. We will be back again.

Amazing restaurant. We went on a Thursday so nice level of busy for a friend catch-up, apparently more party atmosphere at the weekend. Ordered the chefs menu, lots of delicious dishes to share, all focused on flavour over heat. The 'made at the table' guac and the chicken main were excellent, as was the house red. Little pricey, but reflects the quality of the food and (lovely) service. Will go again.

Went for cocktail masterclass. They were running a little bit late and offered us complementary drinks within 5 minutes. And when we went through for our cocktail masterclass it was FABULOUS! Can't recommend them enough!

The staff were so friendly and informative. J particular we mention one girl, it was her birthday 25/1 and she is from Columbia, didn't get her name. Fantastic attention from her, great conversation and knew the menu - excellent advice from her re choices. The food was so fresh and every dish was so well presented.

Came mid afternoon on a Saturday without a booking. Lovely looking place, great decor. As a coeliac I was impressed by the gluten free options on the menu. Waitress didn't really understand what we asked for, even although we we quite clear. My wife had 2 tacos and raved about them. I, unfortunately, had the Argentinaian ribs. They were so fatty and tough. Flavoursome, but terrible. We informed them and they offered me something else but I wasn't interested by this point. 3 times I had to check if things were gluten free, and twice they weren't. Could have been so good, but really wasn't.

Booked for my husbands birthday meal. My third time at the restaurant having the chefs recommendation menu, every course was delicious! Great atmosphere with mariachi band. Cocktails are amazing and our server Wesley was so friendly and helpful all evening!

The waitstaff were very kind; however, one accidentally spilled an entire glass of red wine over me and my friend. I was wearing a white skirt. Unfortunately, the manager showed no sympathy for the situation. We had planned a night out for months, but it was completely ruined as we were drenched in wine. The restaurant’s response was to offer us a free drink (the same one that had been spilled on us) and cover the dry cleaning bill. After a 5-minute argument, they removed the drink from the bill but then refused to pay for the cleaning because the drink had been “waived.” The manager’s reaction was absolutely appalling. My skirt and top had to be thrown away, and now I need to take time out of my day to get my jacket dry-cleaned and pay for it myself. My friend is in the same situation with his jacket, shirt, and jeans. As for the food, it was dreadful—clearly frozen and reheated. Honestly, staying at home would have been a better choice. The whole night was ruined. The toilets were also disgusting clearly not cleaned regularly as there was urine all over the seat and floor

I had a fantastic experience at El Santo! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly front-of-house team, who were attentive and helpful even though the restaurant was completely full. The food was incredible, and the fresh salsa and guacamole made right at our table—such a unique touch! Meal perfectly complemented by freshly crafted cocktails from the bar. The atmosphere was unforgettable, thanks to the incredible salsa duo who performed between the busy tables. Their energy added even more vibrancy to the evening. When it was time for the next reservation, the front-of-house team graciously escorted our party to the speakeasy next door, where we continued the night enjoying a live DJ and an amazing atmosphere. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish—highly recommend!

When you go up the stairs, you will find a spacious and nice interior. The guacamole made with fresh avocado in front of the rain and darkness was very delicious. Ordered Bloody Mary, ceviche, and octopus (pork).

Recommend the Sunday BBQ Grill. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice environment for either a quick meal or a good session. Food was amazing, plenty of different cuts of meat of great quality and flavour. Delicious !!

We went there today. The food was exceptional, we enjoyed the tacos and guacamole very much. Our waitress Amanta was very sweet and attentive. Loved the overall experience.

Interesting place, great food. Had some beautifully cooked pork. Their cocktails are top notch too. We were there on a Friday night, they had some live dancers come out throughout service which was great fun. Speak easy pretty cool too, dj was good. Definitely be back.

Lovely place but the food is mediocre at best - Ceviche served with Prawn Crackers? The breaded king prawns had a definite "Iceland Frozen Multi Pack" vibe to them too. The Guacamole was decent but out of the 7 or 8 dishes we had that was the only one I'd say was good and it's not exactly rocket science to make Guac

I am originally from Brasil and really strugle to find a good place to go for food in the UK. I have been to El Santo a few times and had most of the items in the menu including the Sunday Rodizio Grill. Every time I have been impressed with how fresh and authentic the food is. I have also had a few of the cocktails with pina colada being my favourite so far as I can really taste the coconut. Highly recommended as i know you won't be disapointed!

Great vegetarian menu, taste was top chef standards, welcoming atmosphere and brilliant service. Definitely will go again.

I've dined here quite a few times and, honestly, it is SUCH a vibe! The lighting is beautiful and the service is always prompt and comes with a smile. I'm not sure what days they have it but sometimes they have Latin dancers in and they are just absolutely mesmerising to watch - I often find my food going cold because I'm enjoying the entertainment so much! Speaking of food, the mushroom tacos are to DIE for - probably some of the nicest foods I have ever had! The cocktails are also really authentic and super tasty - if I could live solely on their caiprinhas, I would do! Thank you, always, for treating us so generously when we come to visit! I will be back again soon :)

I've been at El Santo several times now and can confidently say that I love the food, service and atmosphere there. I especially love how nice all the staff are here, the freshly made guacamole with chips and dancers who give a very nice and unique touch!

As a Brazilian living in Glasgow, I can confidently say this is the best South-American food I had around here. The picanha (steak) is perfect, the tacos and ceviches are delicious and the caipirinhas are to die for. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great.

El Santo is absolutely excellent - the food, staff, service, and overall vibe are really incredible. I'd recommend if you're in the city centre to visit in a heartbeat.

Dined here recently and the food was fantastic! Had the set menu for 2 and the food was great and plentiful. The churros, especially, were to die for. Also enjoyed getting to watch the dancers, a nice touch to the overall dining experience.

I'm Brazilian and I went for the first time and I fell in love with the food, delicious and great in terms of quantity, wonderful service, I highly recommend it and the food is really tasty like ours in Brazil...

Insanely good fish taco. Hidden gem. Crispy batter, taste is well balanced with citric. Guacamole is freshly grounded with mortar in front of you. Those are fresh with squeeze of lemon juice, paired with nachos. Pina colada is infused with coconut cream and super creamy. Margarita and ceviche nothing special.

Went for Sunday Rodizio hoping for a Viva Brazil like experience. So disappointed. Took 20 minutes for our inclusive drink to arrive, 30 minutes for our sides to arrive, and a full 40 minutes and complaint to staff before a single piece of meat touched our plates. The food, when it eventually arrived, was nice enough, but at nearly £40 per head its nowhere near worth it. We werent offered any more drinks or sides (meant to be unlimited) and there were no staff around to ask. They then had the cheek to put a 10% service charge on the bill, which was removed. We got an apology, and were told they were short staffed.

Arrived to a closed looking venue. stacked dirty glasses at edge bar, towels over draughts on bar, no staff in sight. Then saw one other couple sat towards back so we waited, realising it was open.. After a 5 minute wait a member of staff appeared. He apologised and stated he was only one on duty. He was friendly, polite and well presented. He promptly seated us, provided menus and gave us water. Just as we ordered another staff member came on, looking rough and in a creased yellowing shirt. He seemed to spend most of his time in back. We ordered cocktails and food. Cocktails were lovely, however our first, second and third choices were met with sorry we don't have that. When food arrived it was here I wish we had not waited and about turned when first arrived. The portions are tiny, 3 jalapeno poppers per plate? This was least of our worries. We opted for mussels, first few were fridge cold, then next luke warm, after 3 noticed the temperature variance and 4 closed shell ones so stopped eating them. Glad I did as tummy was not happy later in evening! We left hungry and over charged, we were charged full price and not lunch time deal! By time we left was now 4 team with only 2 visibly working. It is shame as venue is beautifully decorated. The rest is a shambles. Why on earth is a kitchen staff member (looks like kitchen porter) in food splattered t shirt and apron walking through restaurant area numerous times with a dirty white reused white food container (bucket)?? Would not recommend until serious changes to food quality, portion, stock and management.

My husband and I visited today with our son and daughter in law to try the Rodizio BBQ. The staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was beautiful. Good quality meats cooked to utter perfection. The beef rib just melted in the mouth, steak not over done either. My son said "it was the best meal he's ever had" ! I opted for the mocktail which is included in the price, and it was delicious, however I did have a sip of my sons Caipirinha and wow they didn't skimp on the alcohol! The restaurant decor is beautiful, and the place is clean. A thoroughly wonderful experience.

Tuvimos una noche fabulosa, pero desafortunadamente nuestro plato principal no era comestible. Teníamos los £ 40 por persona compartiendo menú y todo hasta ese momento era maravilloso, las bebidas, el guacamole, los bon bons de cerdo tirado, el ceviche de salmón. Sin embargo, pedimos las costillas para nuestra elección de carne y eran completamente incomestibles, llenas de grasa y masticables. No podía cortar con un cuchillo o con dientes. Muy mala calidad. El taco de carne antes de esto estaba bien. No arruinó nuestra noche, aunque como el servicio era bueno, ambiente excelente tanto en el restaurante como en el bar y se sintió muy bienvenido por el tipo inmaculadamente vestido y profesional en la puerta también. Con todo, una noche brillante, pero no tendría las costillas de nuevo. Realmente orgulloso de tener un lugar divertido y seguro como este en Glasgow.

Nice lively restaurant but we went because of the Dia de Los muertos celebration,I can honestly say that I witnessed none of the advertised celebrations,way oversold it! Opted for the sharing platter,probably too much for 1 but not enough for 2,when you add up the individual elements you maybe save a couple of £,my advice just choose what you want. Staff were good.

My partner and I, Michael, were kindly able to celebrate his 30th birthday with a 2:1 cocktail masterclass with Jack (Sorry if we've remembered your name wrong) our wonderful bartender enthusiast. The team let us have an exception small group in June after I emailed them from Australia to confirm options before our travels. Jack kindly accommodated us in a 2 hour experience, with so much knowledge, patience and positivity. Thank you so much for a lovely memory of our time in Glasgow and an extra, extra level predrinks experience to our Green day concert that night. We would most definitely recommend the venue which had a great vibe, incredible food (especially the tapas style dishes) and staff were all so lovely. If we ever come back to Glasgow, we will surely return! Best wishes from the land down under ☺️

This is a great place for a date night. The South American dancing is an unexpected but top tier addition to the experience. The food is great too, even if a bit on the expensive side

cool venue Have previously dined but this time I was in back room for drinks and salsa dancing! The back room is a good size with plenty of seating and it's own bar . The bartenders are skilled at cocktails making ( mine made me a surprise mocktails which was lovely) however there was only two people serving on a busy Saturday night. Everyone wanted the good cockails which led to slower services and longer waits. however , it was was great fun- the DJ was excellent and everyone had a great time. After the meringue the music went more clubby / party than latin and the party full started. Recommend!

Food was O.K. apart from the massive curly hair found in one of the tacos… Drinks and cocktails good and service was fine. Took over and hour and a half to be served our mains and 50mins for starter which was only crisps. Really poor

It was one of the terrible experiences I have ever had. It took around 30 minutes to bring our drinks,which were just ice and tiny drinks in it. After 50 minutes, the salad and sides came. Then because they brought the food too late, two of souces, which were made by butter, became solid and I asked the waitress with green shirt to change it for us, and she never brought another one. There were a good number of waiters and waitresses, but unfortunately, most of the time, they were not available and should wait for a long time to order or ask for something. The area was too cold and not comfortable.

Attentive and friendly service. Food was all tasty. Good range of gluten free items including tacos, breaded prawns etc. Drinks took a lil while to arrive. And food was probably a bit too quick, not leaving much breathing room.

The flavours and texture, the smell just delicious, and with staff who are so happy to bring your favourite back to the table for round 2.. it was just a delightful night. Was looking forward to this restaurant but oh my what a disappointment! It is chaos ! They are very understaffed in fact we only seen our waitress when we paid the bill. The food is so average and definitely not authentic Mexican that’s for sure ! Not a chilli in sight and totally tasteless. The dancers cute the first time they come around but by the end of the evening it’s all a bit boring ! For what they are charging I certainly won’t be back 🤷‍♀️

Had a phenomenal Meal in El Santo. The Food was amazing and probably the best Guacamole 🥑 I’ve ever eaten and I’ve been to Mexico 🇲🇽. The Staff were friendly and attentive at all times. 100% will return 👍

Went on a Sunday for the Rodizio BBQ Grill, and it was absolutely amazing. Go on a completely empty stomach and you won't leave hungry! Cocktails were different from anywhere else and so delicious. We were served by Mary Ann and hands down was the best service we ever had in our lives.

They all gave great recommendations for drinks and food along with recommendations for places to visit in Scotland when we return. They were also very gracious when we asked to have photos taken with them. The food was top notch and the drinks were so tasty. Do yourself a favor and plan to visit El Santo in Glasgow. Would 100% recommend El Santo and will definitely return. 10/10 across the board.

Waited ages at table. Not offered drinks. Had to ask them to serve me. Then same with food. Tacos are like cardboard no taste. Then 90 minutes for main. Bought me wrong dish and my husbands was cold. Sent back and then his was reheated and finished before I even got mine. Did apologise n say kitchen busy. Ended up taking % of the bill. However I really can't find a positives so won't be bwck

Decent rodizio, very pleasant floor staff once you get their attention. Met by a passive aggressive guy who I can only assume is the manager / owner , as soon as you enter. Eye rolls and smirks aren't a great look to be greeting customers with.

Absolutely amazing the place is gorgeous inside. Made me feel very special that day. Will definitely be back. Date night sorted for next time we get a chance to get out. Wow. The service here was terrible. We had booked a table at 4pm stating that we were using an itison voucher. Booking accepted. On arrival there was 1 other couple in the building and a whole host of staff. 1 other table. 1. ONE! The host gave us menus to which I replied that we were using an Itison voucher (details of which given in original booking). She corrects and gave us the lunch menu included in the deal. As we sat deciding what we were going to order she returned to tell us that she actually couldn’t let us order from this menu. #SorryNotSorry ONE other table in the whole restaurant. ONE. You are on Itison for a reason. You had time to phone me and tell me that the time of my booking was unacceptable for me to rearrange i.e. 5 mins before the “deadline” I was in town from 3.15pm….but instead you allowed us to assume that our booking was ok ….and yet it was not. With experience in this industry I would have been mortified turning away my table, and yet none of your severs seemed surprised. Mortified. ONE other table at 4pm on a Friday. I would have understood if the place was packed. Embarrassing. Clearly came from the kitchen. Wow. Sort out your priorities!

Positive friendly staff , gorgeous cocktails.. the place looks absolutely amazing , service was amazingly even though it was super busy, Fran , Nikkaya! What can I say just brilliant Didn’t get other staffs name (sorry) also an absolute credit , My partner said it was some of the best food he had eaten and he is a big foodie.and the cocktails 10/10 . We loved this place. We were just strolling along hungry on a late Sunday afternoon, and smelled the food and walked in, we were perhaps slightly underdressed, but the staff welcomed us in with our kiddos. It was a special on Sunday they had where it was Brazilian steakhouse Style they just bring meats out and you get sides and a cocktail for £39 I believe. We tried many cocktails and they were all fantastic. The service was amazing, our waitress was so kind and attentive.

Quiet Wednesday night, was ignored at the door by a manager and bar team member, someone finally came over to greet us and told us they had ‘no capacity’ even though we could see at least 8 free tables. Must be doing okay to be turning away any passing trade. Rude and ignorant staff.
