I recently visited El Mexicana Burrito Shop because they display a halal certification, which seemed reassuring for anyone looking for halal options. Rice tasted disgusting, barely any meat stuffed with rice and there were barely of the toppings I ordered.

When paying over £8 for a wrap you expect the correct filling and enough of it so it doesn't just taste like rice and wrap.

Raw churros, ordered a large slush, told it was large but looks like they only serve 1 size cup and cup was tiny. Burrito was ok but quesadilla chicken was poor and had a bit of Grissel or bone in it. Well and truly put off coming back again.

Terrible. For £17 per meal, I’d have expected to get better than what was delivered, cold chips I could deal with, my partner ordered the pulled pork and I the beef, as I write this I’m still not sure who had what as both were just 95% rice and beans.. I’ve smoked fatter cigars than the burrito size that arrived.. The can of sprite was cold.. so it’s not a total write off for a Wednesday night delivery.

Please ensure to have change if you're doing cash transaction, was a bit disappointed when staff said it has to be exact change!

Pit stop while shopping. Ordering difficult as it was via a touch screen. Order ready in minutes. Nachos were great. Warm cheese was a hit.

I paid for my food and after 20mnits they are telling me that they don't have mex wings And said they will refund me After trying for atlis 20 to 30mnits more to do refund lady spoke to me being a manager from the cashes phone and told me we are company. Don't worry you will get your refund next day morning but I'm waiting since 20th for my refund. This is a scam fake company. I don't know how come outlet can keep this company.

Absolute shambles! I would give a minus rating but sadly not an option. My friend and I placed an order on the screen for identical naked bowls. After 30 minutes wait I enquired where our food was and was advised it was ‘on the way’ so I waited at the counter. Whilst I was waiting many people were complaining about the wait and the chap behind the counter suggested to the female, ( who appeared to be in charge), that they shut down the ordering screens to allow for them to catch up. However she said no and other people continued to order. After 45 minutes our food was finally served, however the two bowls didn’t even resemble each other despite them being the same order. One bowl was only a quarter full and when I questioned why, I was told that they had run out of food!! Did they really think I was going to pay?! I declined the food and demanded a refund. Other people also got fed up waiting with one chap coming to the counter to say he had gone to another food outlet, ordered the food, eaten the food and his order still hadn’t been done. He was not the only one! So many people were demanding a refund because of the wait and lack of food. This food outlet is not fit for purpose and Swindon village should seriously consider removing them and replacing with a company that can actually provide food and within a reasonable time.

Below average burritos. The veggie burrito is particularly bad, and the chicken is a bit better. Medium sauce is tasteless. The veggie burrito is mostly full of rice. The child’s portion is a hilariously tiny burrito, and a big portion of fries. I wouldn’t wish these burritos on my worst enemy.

Easily my go to place for a delicious burrito and loaded fries

The first time we have tried this food outlet. It was lovely and tasty. Just what we needed. We went there at 11.30 and it was very quite for a Sunday which suited us.

Card machine was playing up and order wouldn’t go through. Told they can’t make up my food until it clears, even though it was pending at my bank. Decided to cancel order, the manager gave me his email to contact if the money goes out, which it did! 5 days after emailing, still no response.

Stopped in for a quick lunch (burrito bowl with mixed carnitas and veggie chili) and it was the blandest, most boring, least inspired meal I’ve had in a long time. An egg and mayo sandwich from Tesco has more oomph. Honestly, should’ve gotten that - and paid 1/4 the price. The staff was very sweet. Abysmal food is not their fault but the management of this establishment is more suited for dog food production.

5 small cubes of chicken when you buy a naked burito,missing the guacamole . They don't pay attention or care with online orders.

This is, hands down, the best place in Swindon to get a Burrito from. Unlike other places, this restaurant packs their burritos full of your desired filling, I was genuinely shocked at how dense and heavy it was when I initially picked my order up, so you're definitely getting what you pay for. Their Mexican fries are beautifully seasoned, and their portion sizes are incredibly generous in comparison to most other places around town. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by here if you're in need of a filling meal in a hurry, I will absolutely be ordering from here again.

Amazing burrito, wish I had ordered two

At this point, shame on me. I've come close to writing this place off in the past but this time, I'm done. ~£16 x2 on beast burritos that may as well have both just been rice. It's clear the staff have been given instructions to do this kind of value cutting. It's not the first time or way I've seen them do this. I'm done.

I couldn’t believe my eyes! I ordered an XL beef Burrito costing an eye watering £17 and then whilst they’re making it in front of me, instead of adding the beef to the burrito, they placed it into a little sauce cup and then placed it onto a scale!! When placed in the wrap you couldn’t see it! It really was so insignificant I had to speak. I was told they add 120g of beef! It’s like ordering large cod and chips and getting a cod bite! Pathetic and an absolute rip off. 5 years I’ve been eating here and it’s always been ok, not amazing not bad, ok, but never ever spending money with these rip off merchants again

Ordered grated Chicken Burrito Ball (limited options), got the smelly chicken which tasted horrible. When I made the staff aware of it she says this chicken smells like that only. 🙃

Food not worth the money - ordered a rice bowl, extra meat. I would shudder to think how much meat is default. Food is bland, has an awful aftertaste. I could make better food with my eyes closed. Go to the subway next to this place - don’t make my mistake of trying to be “adventurous” whilst eating out

Ordered a burrito, delivery was quick and food was hot, however I requested beef chilli, mexican beans and rice, paid the small charge for large but what arrived was a standard size which is not a big thing but it only had rice and beans in it, no chilli.

Absolute joke. Flavor, portion size, time it took to get the food.

Have been a regular customer but it has been horrible since last few times. I had paid for guacamole but it was not given. Toppings were too less. It was rather dry. Today I found a hair inside my burrito bowl!

I'm not one to leave negative reviews but honestly this has got to be the poorest quality mexican food I have ever eaten! Cheap cash & carry ingredients, bland and underwhelming food and portions are small. Nothing fresh or healthy as they claim. Request to the team that please take this feedback constructively. You have a good location but in an attempt to maximise your margins you are cutting corners e.g. on your menu you show Harrogate mineral water but I got given some cheap cash & carry branded water. Your tortillas were hard as a cracker and chicken was tasteless (as if it had released water). I will not be returning and feel like im doing a public service by letting people know that there are better / reputable eateries in the foodcourt, please take your business elsewhere.

I had an XL La beast. It was tasty. However I was left a bit disappointed. There just seemed to be not enough meat. I was left full...... Yet unfulfilled.

Derek you are a star and you know how to deal with loyal customers. Food was big portion and always tasty. You are the best skilled manager ever. Just eat should learn and stand up i just hate them more and more . You made our day up. Thank you so so much for all your hard work.:)

Friday afternoon, only customer, quick service from the one member of staff present and the ordering is easy. Unfortunately this was the most bland burrito I have ever eaten. Was very much looking forward to my XXL with rice, chicken, black beans, hot sauce, guacamole (paid extra for but couldn't tell there was any in it) and the salad trimmings, but it wasn't the taste sensation I was expecting, have had way better from other chains. I took it home to eat later, so couldn't say anything to the member of staff, but feel I probably won't go back.

Food was bland, milkshake was missing and the driver couldn't be bothered to actually deliver it to my front door.

The taco I had was very good and the vegetables were very fresh.

Avoid this place at all costs, unless you want severe food poisoning! My 22-month old daughter, husband and I visited this place on Saturday late afternoon. We ordered a kids burrito meal and chicken quesadilla and have all spent the entire week so far suffering from food poisoning. This is not an isolated incident. Having spoken to a few other friends who have also visited El Mexicana on separate non-related occasions, they told us that their families had suffered from food poisoning too. If I can help to prevent even one other person from suffering the terrible ordeal that we went through, that would be the only positive from this experience. P.s. if you still want to take the risk, the food is bland, under-filled and grossly underwhelming anyway. Good luck.

Used to be good but gone down hill. XL Burrito wasn’t big at all and smaller than I’ve had before - wouldn’t want to know how small the standard is now! Wasn’t given enough meat, burrito was mostly made up of the rice, dry as they didn’t put a lot of sauce in (also paid extra for medium sauce) and the beans were still quite hard. Disappointing, especially as I used to like it here.

Cold.. even tho the restaurant is close. Filled with rice and barely any meat.. considering that u pay extra for pulled pork.. its kinda disappointing...

The tablets took out a human and customer service aspect completely... While the food was nice the black beans were still hard and ruined the meal for me... Really nice drink and the flavours of the food were good but I won't be eating from here again unfortunately it lacked the human touch and I'm not willing to get sick from raw beans...

ordered a veggie burrito and a pulled pork one. the veggie burrito had MEAT in it mostly at the very bottom of the burrito. my partner, who has been a vegetarian for YEARS, started eating it as it was supposed to be veggie then noticed the meat inside half way through. Also no dip for the churros we ordered. Only got a measly refund of £6. Very disappointed and not acceptable.

Objednali sme si quesadillu s kuracim masom, dostali sme vegetariansku. Ked sme to reklamovali obsluha nam len povedala, ze takto to bolo v objednavke. V XXL La beast je minimum masa tiez bolo objednavane s beef chilli. Neodporucame.

I just ordered my lunch here. I waited about 30 minutes as the order got lost on the system (need to probably check that out) as I got my food the order was completely wrong but I was hungry and didn’t want to waste more time sending it back, I took a bite and realised the chicken wasn’t cooked! Do not eat here waste of time and money. Sort it out.

The burrito was a total abomination to my senses, you need to fire the person who Is just chucking tomatoes ketchup everywhere, and I've tasted better cheese from my toe jam, although the churros were lovely. I am not upset I am outraged, so I have decided to choke myself on your stale chips

Never had a burrito that was both dry and mushy, until I ordered from el mexicana. Ordered extra guacamole, got one cube of avocado. Not much flavour or variation of fillings. Two burritos ordered and barely ate one. Avoid. Churros were also very chewy. Very disappointing, I will not be ordering again.

Really bad Mexican, Burrito was dry and none of the extras I asked for were added even though I paid for them. Hate leaving a bad review rarely do, but this was expensive and not worth it .

Again there is something that they cant make and it is the Churros. Why????? Can you just explain why? No sugar or eggs or what ? Will it be time when we can get everything we want ???

Everything was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The burrito was stuffed to the max and the loaded nachos were definitely loaded. Will 100% be ordering again in the near future.

2nd time in a row Restaurant has not got Coca Cola classic can. Why????? Fries are cold more than likely because they put the cold Fanta next to the hot fries so it cooled down. Not a good service today very disappointed :(

I have pre-ordered this meal at about 16.15 for 18.00 delivery time and after 15mins late I have called the restaurant they said driver was late but its on way. Interestingly tracker was switched off so could not track the order. Driver arrived 33mins late and when I asked why he was this late he said it is not his fault. I believe he lied as i couldnt track the order. I have ordered other food as well and i could track them . Very weird just eat should train their drivers a bit better.

Recently happened if they have red onion they dont have beef chilli if they have beef chilli they dont have onion there is no salsa today and fries....really? Come on a Mexican has no salsa???? So we couldnt order menu as there is no fries . The food is always good but what about if there will be no wrap for BURRITO ?????
