Unfortunately the black beans and rice isn't vegan or it would have been marked higher.

Starter was really nice and most of the main was nice but part i didn't enjoy was just my preference, nice place would recommend. I would go again just have a different main meal

Delicious fab Mexican food. I had a Chimichanga and Hubs had a burrito. So tasty. Yum yum yum. Ps we have been several times since my first words here and it just gets better and better. Such a cheap price for such great food and fantastic service. You cannot afford not to go here. It's excellent. 😁😁😁😁😁

Big portions, friendly staff, great food. The bayou burger is probably the best burger I've had in a long time, and the hot wings were good too. Would say it's good value for money.

26/10/2024 me and my partner went for an evening meal, the service was brilliant, especially Liam he looked after us very well, the food was great, big portions so you won't go home hungry, feel it just needs a little update with the decor and toilet upgrade, the hand dryer did not even dry my hands, put these points aside will go again

Very disappointing Chicken Fajitas, chicken appeared steamed or boiled (like in chinese takeaways)and just sat on top of the onions & peppers. Almost tasteless, no hint of fajita seasoning at all. One of my favourite Mexican dishes but would never have them here again, neither would I recommend them. Nice restaurant, plenty of lovely young staff offering very friendly service. Burgers looked good.

First time visit for my sister's birthday and we will certainly be returning. My mum and sister both has the Cajun chicken breast and I had the classic burger - both my sister and I couldn't get enough of the mexican rice! We all really enjoyed our meals, service was first class and friendliness of staff was brilliant. The only thing we thought was letting it down was it needing a refresh on the inside and out - don't let the exterior deter you from going in as the food is top notch - it's a fine hidden gem in Malton and does complete justice to the town's rep as 'The Food Capital of the North'. The atmosphere in the restaurant was so nice - music not too loud and it was clear everyone was enjoying themselves. We'll see you again soon 😃

Great Tex-mex in a great little village. Lots of choices and for a fair price. I had the ribs, chicken, steak option and wasn't disappointed. In fact this was one of the best meals we had on our week stay, and that’s saying a lot as we had some fantastic meals. My chicken and ribs were seasoned to perfection. The meat from both fell off the bone and there was a lot. The steak melted in my mouth which filled with saliva as it was so flavoursome. This came with onion rings which were crispy and a corn on the cob which was soft and tender. My wife had the chicken fajitas and ate every last bit. Chicken was seasoned well and was so succulent. The Mexican ride side dish was tasty and accompanied the main dish perfectly. This restaurant had plenty of seating and had a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and professional. We would certainly recommend and we will certainly be back when next in the area. Of course, if you are looking to expand then please come to Lowestoft.

Honestly amazing food but they never answer the phone. We love to order take always and come into the restaurant but there’s never any answer on their phone line. Happy if they are too busy to do take aways but a simple answer to inform us would be great. Hoping this gets their attention :/

We went for our daughters 18th birthday just three of us , the staff are very welcoming my daughter was given a free birthday cocktail with a sparkler all the staff wished her happy birthday which was lovely , we ordered drinks which came straight away the ordered food shortly after although the Restaurant wasn’t busy the food took about an hour to arrive but we did notice there was a lot of take aways going out , this wasn’t a problem for us we weren’t in any rush , but just be aware just because it looks quite doesn’t mean it will be fast , the food was beautiful we had a chicken burrito , steak and chicken fajitas all really nice 👌 well worth a try it f you haven’t all ready Thank you guys for make our girl feel special

2nd visit since the New/old owners have taken over. Chandon is very welcoming and Chris has put El Gringo's back to their best. It's always been good but now the foods amazing. Well worth a visit 👍

Stayed in Malton over the weekend, tried a few different places around (with not much success in terms of good food) and really enjoyed El Gringos. Flavourful food, delicious cocktails, steak was properly cooked. “Hot” chimichanga options was vey mild, but I guess it depends on your heat tolerance.

Steak was a little overdone but I'm sure that's just because it was busy these things happen everywhere. But none the less it was juicy and delicious. I had the chilli chase dog and the meat feast twist. Both absolutely delicious and had a nice kick of spice. Highly highly recommend.

It's an ok type of place, I would pop in if you're passing, but I would not drive to visit if you catch my drift... Food was nice, big portions for the price...

Plentiful and good wholesome Mexican food, ribs and steak cooked to perfection, service good, prices a bit OTT, unless you go for the teatime specials. Worth a visit.

Top establishment, food never fails to be anything but great

We went as a group of 5. The food was extremely good quality, and there is plenty of it! If you ate before 5:30pm you got 10% off the bill too, which is great; think it worked out to about £10-15 per meal. My partner got the rack of ribs which were absolutely amazing, and I got a tower burger which was also super tasty. The food came fairly fast and the service was also great. I would definitely recommend, as it has improved over the last couple of years.

The flavours explode in your mouth. The portion size I found was spot on. A lively atmosphere with polite and helpful staff. Good value and would definitely return.

Not what I was expecting. But it was gorgeous. The staff were young and did there best definitely go back there.

We’re here on holiday and had a takeaway from here tonight and it was amazing! The portions were huge, the burritos etc all come with this rice side, with a little salad, salsa and coleslaw too. The flavours were so good too! The staff were also lovely when we were picking up. When we’re next back this way we’ll definitely be ordering from here again. Such good value for money! We were staying in Malton on Saturday night with our 2 Spanish Water dogs and were looking for somewhere to eat. We came across this restaurant and Mexican being over fave decided to give it a go especially as it said Dog friendly on the window. They were full when we orignally arrived but asked us to come back a short time later which we did. The food was great, with large portions and very well presented. The service from all the waitresses was friendly and very accomodating for our dogs providing water for them and a table in a corner so not to offend other diners. Sadly we are not local to Malton otherwise this would be our regular go to restaurant. Thanks for making us welcome.

We always eat at this place and usually it is a family favourite, however the food quality has gone downhill and the way we were treated on Sunday night was awful- sorry to say we won’t go back! The steak we were served was poor quality and inedible; we complained, didn’t eat it, and sent it back, yet it remained on our bill. When we asked for it to be removed they refused and we were told “you get what you pay for”. Apparently paying El Gringos prices for your meal means you ought to expect poor quality. After about 15 minutes of uncomfortable pushback from us they agreed to discount £3 off our bill. Absolutely disgraceful. It made us feel unvalued, like we were at fault and upset at the injustice of it. We won’t be back and won’t recommend it again to anyone.

Belly buster every time. I have been here so many times over the years and the belly buster consistently blows my mind.

Go HUNGRY! The portion sizes are massive! The size of the portions are really great value for money and the kitchen cooks like they really care about the quality of their food. Everything was well cooked and really tasty. The staff were friendly and service was quick. This would be a great place for groups as well as couples. We will be returning for sure!

Visited here for the last night of a holiday in Malton. Loud and brash. Not fine dining but it is not meant to be. Had some great barbecued ribs and chips which was just what was wanted. Reasonable prices and good fun. Ideal for a family outing.

Stumbled across this while looking for a dog friendly restaurant, walked in just after opening time on a Saturday and got seated straight away. The food was gorgeous, the service was brilliant and the price was also very good, will be returning whenever we visit the area!

If you like your Mexican food and plenty of it then El Gringos is the place for you. I love the ribs that are served here, the meat falls off the bone and the BBQ glaze is brilliant. Absolutely well worth dining here.

Great food at a very reasonable price

Ordered takeaway from here and had a fantastic meal. Portion sizes are huge and I have a hearty appetite. The famous nachos could be a meal in their own right and will be eaten throughout the night as we couldn’t finish them. Also had a burrito and the meat feastbtwist which were amazing. Wanted tontrybthe suicidal sauce so asked for a pot of this sauce, they gave me a massive pot but it was delicious and not too hot but very very tasty. Definite give this place a go either by dining in or takeaway.

If you want takeaway ring very early, especially on busy evenings. The food that we collected was excellent, everything was very tasty and all the mains a good size and served with rice, salad and dips.

Quite a small restaurant so it felt a bit squeezed in but once seated it was fine. This place was busy when we visited with all tables filled and it showed - food was a bit slow to turn up and the staff though friendly seemed rushed off their feet. The food was delicious - the blue cheese and mushroom burger was superb. The portion size was OTT - there is no way we could have had/shared starters and/or deserts with our main meals. I'd go back on a quiet night happily.
