Ege in Croydon

I ordered food from the restaurant. Spent £80 worth. My meal was incomplete and looked like I had spent about £20 worth of food. It was shocking and very disappointing especially as I had eaten here before and previously enjoyed it. I definitely would not recommend Ege to anyone now after that disappointment. DO NOT GO HERE, it’s a complete rip off!!!!

Great food, great food excellent service and great value for money. Reasonably priced food and drink with a glass of wine for less than £5.

Went to EGE Turkish restaurant on 16/12 for a 2.30pm lunch for 12 people everything was absolutely fantastic food extremely tasty and plenty of it.Service was excellent nothing was to much bother treated very well foods came out altogether and very hot .I took lots of table decoration there as it was a Christmas lunch the waitress set it lovely even popping to a local shop to collect balloons I had order all my guest had a fantastic time lots of laughs and memories made one guest even had a Christmas sing sing which every if the staff enjoyed. Thankyou for an wonderful experience we will all be back again Linda Sumners

not even an olive or dip or a piece of bread whilst waiting the salad was just a bit of lettuce not how the turkish do their salads it was just lettuce the rice was plain boiled or steamed rice no flavour or taste it was just tasteless we had to ask for some bread when the food came and we were charged for service but why i understand this service charge has stopped every where now the last owners did know how to serve up very authentic turkish food plus the service was great not happy at all

I popped in here last week with my mum, as I’d been wanting to try the restaurant since it changed its name. We were given complimentary bread with olive tapenade to begin and both were nice. I then opted for the Mediterranean prawns with sautéed potatoes for my main and my mum the chicken wings with rice. I found my prawn dish extremely bland and lacking in basic seasoning and really struggled to finish it. The potatoes were unsalted and tasteless and the whole meal was just a let down for me. My mum liked her chicken wings but agreed that they were not very tasty. We both agreed that the salad and dressing were good. All in all I was very disappointed in the food and would definitely not come back here or recommend that anyone goes. The only redeeming factor for the time spent here was the lovely waitress - Ahlam. She was so friendly and pleasant and made the experience a better one.

We had dinner tonight at Ege in Purley. The service was friendly and some dishes were good. However, the restaurant was cold, the bench seats were in a deplorable state, they desperately need re -upholstering, the ladies’ toilets smelled really awful and were not very clean. I had swordfish which was tough and when we asked for coffee, we were told that they did not have cappuccino because the machine was broken and to cap it all, the restaurant had run out of decaffeinated coffee. Come on manager, get your act together!

Friendliness, service and food amazing! Only thing that marred the evening on a freezing December eveninh was the air conditioning blasting out freezing cold air!! Staff did try to rectify with a very small plug in heater but to no avail.

We went as a family to celebrate my wife's birthday. The booking was easy to make via phone. It was early evening so the place was quiet. The waitress was friendly and the service was good but slow at times. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. I had lamb kebab and my wife the mixed grill. My daughter's vegetarian moussaka was a little bland but very edible. We rounded off with a cherry ice cream. With starters we paid around £28 per head. Quite affordable. Worth consider a revisit.

The food quality here is very good and the staff seemed very pleasant. Portions were on the large size. Great value for money.

Stopped here unplanned on a Sunday after arranging to meet a friend for a Tapas but it was closed. We weren't too sure on what to expect but it was a great meal. Server was lovely, really friendly and chatty. We ordered 2 cocktails which were large and good value for money. We ordered starters and mains and portions were good and tasted great! We skipped desert as we were stuffed but we both agreed we had a great meal. Look forward to returning!

Genuinely the tastiest and best food I’ve had in south London after living in the area 20 years. Food is soo tasty. Me and my partner order takeaway nearly ever my week now from here. Service in house is also great! Love it! Well done!

The menu here is excellent, the food is delicious and the service is great. Highly recommended. I really enjoyed a date night here, the atmosphere in the restaurant is buzzy and friendly.

The food was delicious and the service fantastic. We ordered from the set menu and the normal menu and everyone enjoyed their dishes. The portions were generous and full of flavour. We will definitely be going again!

Very good experience, nice environment, good service, great authentic Turkish food, big portions. We had the £19.95 per person deal including starter, main and dessert, couldn’t eat all! We will definitely come back
